Chapter Text
There was a meteor heading towards Earth.
It was only caught that evening, seemingly making a bee-line to the planet as it ignored the gravitational pull of the sun and other planets.
It wasn’t big, but at the speed it was going… well…
The whole world scrambled to find a solution, it was too late to assemble any technological answer, any quirks used to try to divert or destroy it seemed to warp around it, and any quirks that could attempt so when it was closer either required such precise timing or were as destructive as it.
Some believed it to be an act of god, others an attack by aliens.
In the end though, it didn’t matter. Families and friends came together and held their breath, as they waited for the end of the world.
———
It was 12:47 am, and a man stood on a cliff in Japan, watching the sky as what seemed like a star got closer and closed. All things considered the harbinger of their destruction was quite beautiful, seeming to glow every color of the rainbow and give off what looked like stars.
He’d been told he didn’t need to do this. That it was time to just… rest.
But he was the Symbol of Hope wasn’t he?
Even if the fire of One for All did not burn as brightly in him as it once had he couldn’t just do nothing.
So as the meteor entered the atmosphere with a boom, Yagi leaped forward.
Pulled back his arm.
“United States of…”
And put everything into one final punch.
“SMASH!!!”
He wasn’t sure what he was expecting. For his arm to shatter, for his body to be set alight, for him to throw his final punch one second only to not exist the next.
But as his fist caught air and time seemed to slow, all he could process was… giggling?
Yagi opened his eyes.
The ball of light that was the meteor was gone, instead split into separate pieces that moved around his body.
He turned his body in time to see the fragments of light coalesce into…
A girl.
Her body made of what seemed to be space itself, galaxies in her hair and stars for eyes.
She laughed again before bringing her finger to his nose. She laughed again, childlike and innocent, and rocketed off as time seemed to resume.
Yagi landed in the forest below and waited for…
He wasn’t sure…
He stood there frozen in the quiet of the forest till something in the sky caught his eye.
Above him comets raced across the sky, as if playing without a care in the world.
And for the first time since that day had started, everything felt alright.
———
On the outskirts of a city, a girl landed in a forest.
She stretched her starlit body, before smiling to herself and skipping towards the lights of the city.
A brand new world to explore, she couldn’t wait to see what it had in store!
