Chapter 1: Undelivered Package

Chapter Text

Vegeta was angry. Why had Dende, Earth's guardian, sent him to this stupid place known as England? The last time Vegeta had traveled here, he had met a beautiful red-haired woman and claimed her. Dende informed Vegeta that the woman called Lily was in a coma and her husband had been killed. What did he care? She meant nothing to him, so Vegeta tried to convince himself, but deep down, Vegeta knew that woman had been his mate. There was something different about her, and he could feel it. It was almost as if she was a Saiyan in disguise. But there was nothing he could do about it now. Not without knowing if Kakarot had defeated Frieza.

“There is something of yours that has been left behind, and you need to retrieve it,” Dende explained.

Vegeta narrowed his eyes but did as the young guardian had told him. Vegeta flew to a town called Little Whinging. As he passed, Vegeta suddenly felt a surge of ki energy. Following the energy, Vegeta landed on a building overlooking some pathetic dwellings. He sat and watched as a person arrived.

An older man wearing ridiculous robes appeared out of nowhere. The man turned to a cat that had been sitting on the fence. The older man smiled at the cat, “I should have known you would be here...Professor McGonagall.”

The cat transformed into a human being in front of Vegeta's eyes. He had never seen power like that and was curious to see what else they could do.

“Good evening, Professor Dumbledore. Are the rumors true, Albus?”

“I'm afraid so, Professor. The good and the bad.”

“And the boy?” Professor McGonagall asked.

“Hagrid is bringing him.” The man said.

“Do you think it wise to trust Hagrid with something as important as this?” Professor McGonagall asked.

“Ah, Professor, I would trust Hagrid with my life.”

Vegeta listened intently to what the two humans were talking about; then, his ears picked up on a sound in the distance. There was a motor sound, and the two professors looked up to see a flying motorcycle coming down from the air. It skids on the street and halts. A large man with shoulder-length black hair and a beard named Rubeus Hagrid takes off his goggles.

Vegeta watched the large human get off the flying machine and reach into the sidecar and take out an infant. Vegeta gasped; even from that distance, he could smell his blood running through the baby's veins. Vegeta caught a glimpse at the child and could already see that the babe had his unruly black hair, though it was cut short.

Vegeta had half a mind to fly down there and take his child by force. It wasn't like these pathetic humans could stop him. But Vegeta wasn't stupid; he wanted to learn more about his child before taking him. Vegeta already knew the child was a boy; he could sense it. So, Vegeta watched and listened.

“No problems, I trust, Hagrid?”

“No, sir. Little tyke fell asleep just as we were flying over Bristol. Heh. Try not to wake him. There you go,” the human named Hagrid handed the baby over to the older man.

“Albus, do you think it's safe, leaving him with these people? I've watched them all day. They're the worst sort of Muggles imaginable. They are...”

“The only family he has.”

The three humans stopped outside of Number 4 Privet Drive. Vegeta watched as the older man Albus set his son down at the house's doorstep.

“This boy will be famous. There won't be a child in our world who doesn't know his name,” McGonagall told Albus.

“Exactly. He's better off growing up away from all that. Until he is ready.”

The large human, Hagrid, sniffled. Vegeta rolled his eyes at the human's weakness.

“There, there, Hagrid. It's not goodbye, after all.”

“Hagrid nods. Dumbledore takes a letter and places it on the baby, who is now at the foot of the door.”

“Good luck...Harry Potter.”

And with that, the humans left. Vegeta flew down to the boy and picked up the letter that the older man had left. He read the note and became furious. On the one hand, he was proud that his son had defeated this so-called dark wizard, whatever that was. Conversely, Vegeta was enraged that his mate was in a coma after the attack. He should have been there to protect his mate and child.

Vegeta looked down at the baby and gave a rare smile. The boy looked human, but Vegeta could tell something was cloaking him to make the baby, named Harry, look like that. He would take his child to Dende and have whatever was placed on him removed.

Vegeta then picked up his son and bundled him up. He powered up and flew off to Kami's lookout to demand that Dende remove the cloak. Vegeta arrived quickly at the lookout and called Dende. Dende came out and smiled at Vegeta.

“I see you found your son; I'm glad. Those wizards are insane thinking that this child defeated their dark lord.”

“Wizards? What are wizards?” Vegeta asked.

Dende explained to Vegeta what they were, and Vegeta was unimpressed. These pathetic humans, even with their magic, were no match for the Prince of All Saiyans or Kakarot. They needed a thing called a wand to access their so-called powers. Vegeta knew he could quickly overtake them and destroy their entire race. But that did make him wonder why his mate was in a coma.

Dende explained that Lily was only half Saiyan. Her mother had been a full Saiyan and was mated to a human. She was the human's second wife, and the man had a five-year-old daughter, Lily's half-sister.

“That is why they left little Harry with her, though they did not know Lily and Petunia are half-siblings,” Dende explained

“There is no way I would have let pathetic humans raise my offspring.”

“No, of course not, that's why I sent you,” Dende said as he walked over to Harry and looked at him critically. He tilted his head to the side and then looked at Vegeta, “There is a cloaking spell on him to make your son appear human,” Dende explained.

Dende nodded, then placed his hand on Harry's head. Dende raised his kit and destroyed the illusion on Harry. As soon as the charm faded, Harry's appearance changed. His hair grew into a wild mane like Vegeta's. His bone structure altered to look more like a Saiyan and his tail appeared, and the scar on his head disappeared. Lily had put an illusion on Harry, so it seemed he would get injured as a human baby would. The only thing that remained was his mother's eyes. Vegeta thought it was odd, but he was glad about it.

Vegeta nodded his thanks to Dende and left the lookout to return to Capsule Corp, where he had been staying with Kakarot's mates Bulma and Gohan. When he returned, Bulma scolded Vegeta for leaving without telling anyone.

“Woman, I am the Prince of all Saiyan, and I do not need your permission to do anything,” Vegeta growled.

“Well, as long as you stay here, you'll do as I say. Where did you go, anyway?” Bulma asked.

“Not that it is any of your business, human, but I went to retrieve my offspring.”

“You have a kid?!” Bulma shouted in surprise.

“Yes, I did not know that my mate was pregnant when I left her.” Vegeta explained.

“You have a wife?!”

“No, Saiyans do not marry as humans do. We have mates.”

Bulma took the baby away from Vegeta and cooed over him. “Oh my god, he looks exactly like you but green eyes.”

“Like his mother's”

“What's his name?” Bulma asked.

“His name is Harry, but that weak name is not suitable for my heir.”

“I will name him Ryujin. It means Dragon King,” Vegeta answered.

Bulma thought for a moment, then looked at Vegeta, “He's going to need a last name. Why don't you use my maiden name and I'll claim him as my nephew.” Bulma suggested.

Vegeta thought for a moment, he knew Earthlings used surnames, but perhaps it was a good idea. Vegeta nodded, “Alright, my son will be named Ryujin Briefs.”

Back at Hogwarts, in the registration book for the coming students, Harry Potter's name disappeared and was replaced by Ryujin Briefs.
