Chapter Text
There’s a specific shade of green that the underside of a leaf makes when sunlight shines through it. It’s hard to explain, exactly, and even harder to match, but it is truly mesmerizing. It was the last thing that Izuku Midoriya saw before everything fell apart.
Some moments—for one reason or another, get frozen in time: preserved like a pinned-up butterfly in your mind. This was one of those moments for Izuku. Years later, he could still recall the way a breeze had lifted the leaf up into the little beam of sun; the way the tree had shivered with the weight of all that beauty. And that color. That green that seemed to transcend the world. It etched itself into the back of his mind. That was the first time his world was washed in stained-glass green, and it didn’t last long.
