Little Bird

Summary:

This is my first book. Please be nice.

Kairi knew this was going to happen, sooner or later Loba was to be running back to the soldier's arm with her stolen heart.

A rebound is that all I ever was to you, a toy you can play with until she comes back.

Notes:

Just a little angst for Valkyrie, she is my favorite in the game. I'm a lovalk shipper so it's quite sad seeing Valkyrie fight for a relationship. I really hope they stay together and work through it.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Kairi is drowning in a sea of her emotions, humiliation, sorrow and frustration.

Feeling the familiar burn down her throat as she downs another beer. The memories playing on repeat never getting blurry in her mind.

The look on Loba's face made Kairi nauseous, the relief that painted Loba's face when Anita stayed. They embraced each other so tight, like lovers separated after a long time. In that moment Kairi felt broken, her chest heavy, stomach in knots, despite that she gave tight lipped smile and made an excuse to leave.

Here she is now, in a bar drinking her weight hoping for just a moment of peace of mind, for her thoughts to stop racing and her heart to grow lighter.

Kairi let's out a loud groan of frustration slamming her drink down. "I've been grounded". "I should've stayed in the sky's away from threats, should've flied away".

Loba had yet to voice how she feels about the pilot but it's crystal clear, the way she looks at Anita, their interactions with each other more intimate than the last, Loba's blinding smile that is so so beautiful. Kairi doubted that she'd ever be on the receiving end of.

The way their legs would rub against each other, the subtle touches they give to each other and the look on Anita's face is aggravating......., the contentment, the satisfaction. It's almost as if she's mocking Kairi and it doesn't help the way Loba looks at Anita as if she's in love, her eyes shines, her skin is glowing and her smile it personifies radiance absolutely ethereal.

Kairi stubbles out the bar trying to make her way to her apartment, holding onto the wall she vomited up the contents in her stomach. Wiping her mouth she slowly walked away before sliding down the alley wall. Tears threatened the spill once again but she's too tired dealing with heartbreak, she didn't even come to find me.

Her eyes growing heavy and dark spots cloud her vision, sleep overcoming her before she can hear the sound of heels hitting pavement and a familiar voice calling out for her.
