Chapter Text

Charlie knew that he was going to get eliminated soon.

He didn't know when, but he knew that the houseguests would eventually catch on to his ruse and vote him out.

Maybe he should just go for broke for the next few rounds. Even if he gets eliminated, at least he's going out with a bang.

But who would be the perfect victim? It was entertaining to eliminate some of the other houseguests, but he was getting a bit tired of that.

He wanted someone who could give him the chase...

...Someone who could fight him instead of slowing down due to blood loss or injury.

But who would be perfect for that?

Charlie looked at Austin, watching as he made muffins.

Everybody knew that Austin was the muffin man.

Austin didn't even tell anybody his role, but some of the other houseguests found out by seeing him baking in the kitchen.

After that, word got around that Austin was the muffin man.

Charlie was suspicious of these accusations until he saw Austin baking a few days ago.

Who would've thought that someone as hard-boiled as him would be good at making muffins?

Suddenly, Charlie got an idea.

Since Charlie was feeling sadistic today, he decided that taking out the muffin man would not only satiate his bloodthirst but also taking away the happiness of the other houseguests. It would be like killing two birds with one stone!

Charlie walked into the kitchen, seeing Austin making muffins yet again.

"What're you doing here, Charlie?"

"I'm just here to make sure that the murderer doesn't try to kill you. You know you really shouldn't be alone, especially since you're distracted by your baking..."

"I-I can handle myself!" Austin snaps, turning back to his cooking.

Is he sure about that?

"Hey, if you're not too tired, maybe I can show you a way to avoid the murderer?"

Austin was skeptical (and rightfully so), but he begrudgingly accepted Charlie's offer.

The two made their way out of the murder house, the crisp air hitting their faces.

"Are you sure that this isn't breaking the rules, Char?" Austin asks as he walks through the forest with Charlie.

"Yes, the Announcer told me that it was fine, as long as both of us come back."

Charlie was lying, but he wasn't wrong. He could leave the house to dispose of the bodies, Austin, however, could not. Of course, there were exceptions, such as Charlie carrying out a murder attempt.

Charlie noticed that Austin was hesitant, standing in the doorway, contemplating on if he should go with Charlie or stay inside.

"He won't even notice that we're gone, loosen up a bit!"

"Listen, If you want to go inside, that's fine, but this way will make it harder for the murderer to kill us both. I've done it several times, and look at where I am now." Charlie says as he opens his arms to show Austin that he was still alive.

Charlie's suggestion persuades Austin to come with Charlie because he seemed to have good intentions...

...Or did he...?

After a few minutes of walking in the forest, they come across a lake.

"Hey, let's rest here for a few minutes before we come back to the house." Charlie suggests, sitting down in front of the lake.

"While we're here... Do you wanna go out for a quick swim?" Charlie offers as he removes his jacket to get in the water.

"I-I can't swim, and even if I did, I don't have any swimwear..." Austin says, looking down at Charlie.

Charlie rests his head on the side of the lake, smiling at Austin.

"I can teach you to swim, and you don't have to wear a swimsuit to swim. The only thing is, regular clothes might weigh us down. Other than that, a quick swim in a T-shirt and pants wouldn't harm us."

"If you're still hesitant, that's fine. I won't force you to do anything you don't want to do."

Somehow, Charlie convinced Austin to join him in the lake.

"And you should start kicking now!" Charlie instructs as he walks backward, holding Austin's hands.

Alex thought he saw something a bit off in Charlie's smile.

Something seemed off, but he shook it off as the moonlight playing tricks on him.

That didn't ease Austin's gut feeling, though.

"You're doing so well, Austin!" Charlie praises as he lets go of Austin's hands.

"Now, we will swim back, but I won't be holding your hands. Don't worry, though! I'll be close by just in case something goes awry."

As the two were swimming back, Austin felt something wrap around his waist.

"C-Charlie? What-!"

Austin's head was forced underwater.

Maybe he should've listened to his gut feeling...

But that was in the past.

He was being drowned for goodness' sake!

So, Austin fought Charlie back and swam back to the end of the lake, before running off into the forest.

"Good job, Austin! You learned pretty fast!" Charlie taunts as he swims back to chase after Austin.

Austin wanted to snap back at Charlie, but he knew better than to let Charlie find out where he was.

Austin ran through the forest, not caring about the branches and thorns pricking at his skin.

Should he check to see if Charlie was running behind him?

The man glanced behind him to see that Charlie was running behind him.

Maybe he should just run faster...

Why was Charlie so fricking fast?

Whatever. Maybe Austin should think of a plan since running for a long time wasn't a feasible option.

This was it!

This was the chase that he's been waiting for!

Charlie was so glad that he chose Austin as a victim.

But, even he knows this chase would end, considering that Austin doesn't seem to have that much stamina to spare.

Speaking of endings, Austin seems to have been slowing down as the minutes pass.

Charlie walks up to Austin, taking advantage of the other male's exhaustion.

He couldn't help but smile at the way Austin scrambled away from him as if there was an escape.

'How cute...' Charlie thinks to himself as he grabs Austin to take him to a shed.

What torture methods should he use?

"Just give up, Austin! It's not like you have much left in you." Charlie says as he ties Austin up.

Once Charlie finished, he starts to torture Austin.

"Come on, Austin, I'm sure you have a few more screams left in you..." Charlie teases as he digs into the wound.

Austin was too tired...

He couldn't fight back.

He couldn't scream.

He couldn't cry any more.

He just felt numb.

Disappointed, Charlie gets off of him.

"Fine! Since you don't want to scream anymore, I guess I'll have to do something else..." He says as he grabs some rope.

"What's... that..?" Austin asks, staring blankly at Charlie as he ties something around his legs.

"I'm..."

"Gwoing to Hwang you by your widdle toesies!"

"Oh... No..." Austin deadpanned as Charlie drags him.

Austin didn't want to die, but after Charlie did the cursed OWO voice, he decided to embrace his death.

After the murder, Charlie decided to go back to the murder house and go to sleep.

The next morning, the Announcer summoned the houseguests to the living room.

"Good morning, my lovely houseguests! Who's ready to play a game?"

"What's the game?" Ally asks.

"The game is called; 'Find the missing houseguest'!"

"That doesn't seem like a fun game..." Alex replies.

"Find the houseguest anyway."

The houseguests find Austin's [somewhat mutilated] body hanging in the window.

"Y-you okay, Lukey?"

"No..." Lukey says as they down in a corner, bringing a bucket close to themself.

"Oh no! It appears that Austin has been hung by his toes. Guess he didn't hang in there~!"

Charlie starts giggling.

"What's funny, Charlie?" Alex asks, looking at Charlie suspiciously.

"The joke! The joke was funny!" Charlie giggles, before regaining his composure.

"Are you done joking around, Charlie?"

Charlie nods.

"Good, because I just got news from the investigator regarding who they believe is the murderer."

"They believe that Charlie's the murderer. Have fun voting amongst yourselves!"

The houseguests look at Charlie.

He knew that he would probably get eliminated, but he'd be damned if the didn't fight to the end.

"What do you have against me?"

"You laughed when we stumbled upon Austin's body!" Alex counters.

"I laugh when I'm n-nervous!" Charlie laughs, to throw the other houseguests off.

"Why was Austin outside?"

"He wanted to go out for a nice walk in the woods."

"How do you know?" Zahrah asks.

"He wanted me to go with him, but I declined his offer. Where do you plan on going with this?"

"You knew about him going outside, why is he dead?" Zahrah counters, catching Charlie off guard.

"B-because he's stupid for going outside when he knows that a murderer is on the loose. Call me harsh, but it's the truth."

"Did you even go outside with him at all?"

"Yes, I did, but it wasn't for anything bad. I just wanted to make sure he got back safely."

"He died. Is that your idea of safety?"

"I lost him. When I found him, he was dead."

"What were you doing when you lost him?" Veronica questions.

"Looking for him? Why does that matter?"

"Because he's dead, and you were outside with him!"

"Maybe he ran into someone or something?"

"Maybe that someone was you!" Mason counters, pointing an accusing finger at Charlie.

"How?"

"Was there a third person with the two of you?" Mason inquires.

"No. Just me and-"

"It was you!"

"I plead innocence."

"Austin didn't hang himself by his toes. Someone else must've done it, and you were the only person with him."

"How could I have possibly found the time to hang him if I lost him?"

"You found the time, alright..." Alex mutters.

"Why is everyone ganging up on me?!"

"Playing the victim makes things worse, Charlie."

"Now I can see why Vinny was mad..." Charlie huffs crossing his arms.

"I did not commit the murder."

"Yes, you did!"

"No!"

"Stop lying, Charlie."

"I'm not lying! It was just an unfortunate coincidence!" Charlie argues, getting frustrated at the accusations.

"Time's up! Does everyone have their votes ready?"

After the Announcer counted the votes, he turns on his speaker.

"Okay! Are y'all ready for the results?"  He asks.

"Yes."

"No."

"Too bad, Charlie, I'm reading the results anyway."

"The house believes that Charlie is the murderer."

"The answer is..."

"Correct! Charlie was the murderer!"

"Congratulations, survivors, you have won the game of Flicker! All of you will be getting a million Robux. Charlie, however, will get five hundred thousand, since he was caught."

"All of you can either stay in the house or leave."

"Have a nice day!"  The Announcer says before he cuts off his speaker to watch as the Houseguests talk amongst themselves.

This game was pretty fun to watch.

Maybe he should do more games like this in the future...

Notes:

Here are the other houseguests' roles!

Notes:

I didn't give most of the houseguests any actual speaking roles, because I didn't think it was necessary to cram all 20 houseguests' introductions into one chapter (and because I plan on spreading out the houseguests' speaking roles and such.)
