Another warm spring day on Flower Fruit Mountian. The peaches are in full bloom. Sadly, one tree near the monkey king and his family home has only one peach left. But, right now, a teenage monkey wants it.
MK stares at the peach, getting ready to climb the tree, when he feels a tug on his pants leg. Looking down, he sees his little sister. A little monkey cub, she can’t walk yet, but she can crawl. She tugs on his pants leg again.
“You want something, Yue Yan?” MK kneels down.
She points at the peach in the tree. She wants the same peach as her brother. However, MK isn’t sure if he wants to share since Yue Yan is young; she can only eat mashed-up food.
“Pwese,” Yue Yan squeaked; she could say a few words, but not all correctly.
With a sigh of defeat MK starts to climb the tree. As he reaches for the peach, it’s snatched by someone. Both kids looked up to see one of their fathers Sun Wukong on his cloud holding the peach. He grins as he is about to take a bite when MK tackles him off his cloud, yelling, “Not fair.”
Both land on the ground. The peach rolls towards the tree. Seeing the prize, the little cub crawls to the fallen peach. Unforntally she doesn’t get far. Her other father, Macaque, picks her up.
“Where are you going, little one?” He smiles at her.
She points to the peach on the ground, “Pwese, Daddy.”
He looks at where she is pointing. He sees the lone peach and the other two rolling around on the ground.
“Don’t tackle your father,” Wukong grunts, pushing MK off him.
“You stole my peach,” MK grunts back.
Macaque pinches the bridge of his nose. Yue Yan copies her father and does the same.
He makes his way over to the peach while they two wrestle around. Once Macaque picks up the peach, Yue Yan cheers. The other two stop and see Macaque with the peach.
“No, you don’t,” both say in unison.
Both charge toward Macaque but stop once they see he’s holding little Yue Yan, yet they both still want the peach. Wukong comes up with an idea. He dashes towards them but slides between Macaque’s legs, grabbing the peach with his tail. He stops and holds his prize high above his head. He had a cocky grin on his face the whole time. Soon MK rushes past his father and sister; he also does a slide, but he slides under Wukong’s tail wagging in the air with the prize. Sadly he missed because Wukong saw him and dropped the peach into his hand.
MK isn’t done yet. He tries to grab the peach, but Wukong raises it in the air as MK still tries to get it. Both are smiling, thinking they won. Wukong even closes his eyes. Then he feels something grabbing his sleeve.
Macaque sneaked up and held Yue Yan close so she could grab the peach. With her tongue sticking out, she succeeded in winning the prize. Macaque stands full hight. Walking back inside the house, he takes the peach from his daughter. But, before he enters the house, he looks over his shoulder.
“You know there is more than one peach tree here, all full of ripe peaches.”
Father and son look at each other, then at the many peach trees around their home, and then at the house.
“Those are on the other side of the waterfall,” Wukong wines.
“He does have a point, Dad,” MK shrugs.
