Chapter Text
Gregory breathed quietly. He didn’t even know if it was possible for him to accidentally wake the animatronic, but he’s rather safe than sorry. God, how he hated that stupid security guard. Vanessa, he thinks her name was.
He gasped silently, as he felt his cut on his arm tug. God, that vent really had it out for him, huh?
He stilled as he heard two voices get closer and closer.
“Are you sure that you`ll find out what’s wrong with him?” A woman’s, Vanessa’s , voice rang out, and he felt his blood run cold. Oh hell no.
“I’m the technician,” was all that came as a response, this time from a male person. Huh. Gregory didn’t hear him before. Not that that was surprising. It was one of the technicians, after all.
“Alright, alright. I’ll be on my way then,” Vanessa sounded quite annoying, much to the satisfaction of Gregory. Her footsteps went further and further away, and with each step, Gregory felt more and more tension leave his body.
At least until the door to Freddy’s room opened and closed.
“Ah, what did you do this time, big guy?” the man sighed out, before the sound of something turning on echoed around the room. Gregory held his breath, as Glamrock Freddy’s voice rang out. “Officer Schmidt, is it showtime already?” Gregory swallowed as quietly as possible. A small chuckle rang out. “In your dreams. You broke down an hour ago during a show,” Schmidt retold, and Gregory gasped slightly as Freddy straightened out.
The whole room went quiet. “Freddy?” the man asked. No response came, so Gregory thinks that Freddy just shook his head. “Freddy, is there something inside of you?” Schmidt demanded. “Not that I know of,” came Freddy’s uncertain response. “Open your stomach hatch,” he ordered, and Gregory squeezed his eyes shut, as the sound of the hatch opening came,
A gasp was heard next, to which Gregory carefully opened his eyes. In front of him was a man looking like he was 19, with brown, wavy hair, and blue eyes-
“Freddy, why is there a child in your hatch?” Schmidt hissed to the animatronic, who let out an alarmed sound. “A child? But that place is reserved for big birthday cakes or pi ñ atas!” came the horrified reply. The technician gave the robot a ‘no shit’ look, before he looked back down at Gregory. “Kid, get out of there,” Gregory grumbled in response, but still did as asked, hoping to run away at the next chance he’d get.
He awkwardly stood in front the animatronic and the technician, while the two seemed to analyse him. Suddenly, with a sigh, Schmidt grabbed his arm.
Freddy, meanwhile, just watched, not knowing how to react. There was a child. Inside of his hatch. He still had to process that. “Ok, come on, we’re getting you to Vanessa,” Officer Schmidt sounded tired. The kid, on the other hand, looked determined.
That’s when Freddy’s scanners picked up on it.
“Officer Schmidt, the child is broken,” he informed the man, to which the man, and the child, just blinked at him. “What?” Schmidt asked, and Gregory felt the same way. He was broken?
“His arm,” came the response, and both Schmidt and Gregory quickly whipped their heads towards the arm currently in Schmidt’s hand. The man grumbled under his breath. “Vanessa can deal with this,” he muttered to seemingly himself. In response, Gregory kicked the man in the knee, making him falter for just long enough for Gregory to rip his arm out of the man’s grip, before rushing to the door and out the door. He didn’t look where he was going, and just ran to the right, before seeing a door with a Freddy symbol above it. He decided to try his luck there, hoping to God that the footsteps behind him weren’t actually getting louder and louder.
He cursed loudly as the doors didn’t open. Then he saw the sign next to it, saying shit about only certain personal being able to enter, which was a really dumb rule.
He couldn’t dwell on it for any longer though, because suddenly he was lifted off the ground with an instinctive shriek. His arms were pinned to his side, and no matter how much he thrashed and squirmed, he couldn’t get free in any way. He opened his mouth to scream, but a hand- a human hand- covered his mouth before a sound could escape him. “This is why I don’t want kids,” Schmidt’s voice grumbled from behind him, and Gregory froze. “Promise you won’t try to run this time?” the man asked, to which Gregory reluctantly nodded. “I’m so going to regret this,” Schmidt said before letting Gregory go.
Who immediately darted past the man, only to run right into metal.
Ah, right. Freddy.
Before Gregory could go up and about again, his shirt was abruptly grabbed, making him yelp. “Off to Vanessa,” Schmidt said, immediately starting to walk. “Wait no, please! Please don’t! She kidnapped me!” he screamed, hoping that one, Schmidt would believe him, and two, that Vanessa didn’t hear him. The man froze. “Are you trying to joke with me right now, kid?” he gruffly asked, and Gregory saw Freddy nod. “Officer Vanessa is a very nice lady! She would never do something like that!” he added, to which Schmidt grimaced. “I wouldn’t say that…” The man muttered, to which Freddy frowned. Before he could say anything though, Gregory exclaimed, in a fit of anger, "she did though! I would never even have the money to get here!” he hissed, and Schmidt sighed, before putting the boy down. “Alright, fine. Look, in twenty minutes the Pizzaplex will be closed, and we’ll be locked here. So, c’mon. We’ll take the Utility tunnels.”
And the man walked right. Through. The doors. That. Were. Locked.
Gregory groaned. Of course. The doors were also full of security. “You coming?” The man sounded amused, and Gregory just glared at him, and trotted after him, with Freddy behind him.
“There is a med place around here, where we should stop for this boy’s arm,” Freddy said, to which Gregory groaned. “I don’t need-” he started, but got interrupted by Schmidt. “Will it make you happy?” the bear nodded, his ears wiggling. “Alright, off to the med station,” he grumbled, seemingly also not happy with that.
“In with you,” Gregory stared at the red curtain Schmidt held open. As he stayed outside for seemingly too long, the older man let out a sigh, before just pushing him in, making him yelp. Before he could leave again, the man was inside with him, and already working on his cut. Gregory grumbled. Awkward silence hung over them. “So… what’s your name, kid?” the man asked him. Gregory stayed silent.
At least until the silence got too much again.
“Gregory. Yours?”
Silence.
“Mike Schmidt.”
And that was it. Finally, Mike was done with the cut, but just before they exited the small med stall, or whatever it’s called, A new set of footsteps came, and Mike quickly pulled Gregory back into the safety of the med stall.
“Freddy! What are you doing here?” Vanessa’s voice came, sounding annoyed. “Officer Vanessa! I- do not know how I came here…” okay, even Gregory could lie better. For some reason though, Vanessa was too stupid to notice it. “You know, you really blew it tonight! Parts and Service have you on reduced power now. Apparently, it’s a safety precaution.” she grumbled a little under her breath. “Look, there’s some kid running around backstage. The others were already notified, but if you see him, get him to me.” and off she was.
“Told you so,” Gregory grumbled as soon as Mike and him left the first aid station. Mike sighed. “I think it’d be best if you’d go into Freddy’s stomach hatch for now,” Gregory stared at him. “Go on,” Mike seemed very impatient, and with a sigh, Gregory did as asked. After they walked a bit, Gregory asked, “Where actually are we?” Freddy, ever the eager one, immediately answered him. “We’re in the Utility tunnels. They connect to all attractions, Fazer blast, Roxy Raceway, Monty Golf- you name it. They’re not available to guests, and only Staff with high enough clearance is allowed down here,” Gregory made a small “huh,” sound in response. Mike grumbled slightly. “I still remember when I thought that the other staff teleported to the different attractions,” Gregory snorted in response. Mike glared at the stomach hatch.
Suddenly, after a set of stairs, Gregory got kicked out of the stomach hatch, making the boy yelp. Thankfully, instead of landing on the floor, a pair of hands caught him before he could have injured himself even more. “Freddy!” Mike hissed, helping Gregory back onto his feet. “I’m sorry, the recharge cycle had not yet completed when we found you. I will need to recharge, but I wish you guys a lot of luck,” he apologised, before making his way into the recharge station, which immediately closed its doors.
“Well. Looks like we’re alone from now on,” Mike commented before walking through the red doors. Gregory grumbled before rushing after him.
Garbage sat in their way.
Looking through the doors to another room, Gregory saw Chica, and he squeaked. Chica’s head snapped up from where she was eating- garbage. Huh.
Their eyes met.
“Gregory~” she sang, making Gregory’s heart pound and his breathing pick up, but before she could rush towards him, something clattered to the floor, which distracted her. “Come on!” Mike hissed, grabbing Gregory’s hand and rushing through the side room to the other side, and out of Chica’s view. Gregory let out a relieved sigh.
Mike turned to him, seemingly about to ask something, when Monty ripped a nearby gate apart, and rushed towards them, shouting, “Hey, little guy!”. Gregory’s eyes widened, and he acted on instinct as he ran into the opposite direction, right behind of Mike, who kept on muttering curses under his breath.
When they turned a corner, Chica also appeared, destroying a pile of- something that was in her way. Gregory breathed heavily, and even though he knew that he needed to continue running, he couldn’t anymore, and he slowed down. A sob escaped him. “This area is off limits!” came Chica’s high-pitched voice that was far too close for comfort, and Gregory squeezed his eyes shut, preparing himself-
When a hand grabbed his wrist and pulled him to go faster.
When they finally stopped, they were in a security room.
“Okay, you were not kidding,” Mike gasped out, and between his fast breaths, Gregory gave him a ‘no shit’ look. Mike chuckled slightly.
Both of them jumped when something pounded against the door. Mike cursed. “Mike- we’re at 15% power,” Gregory fearfully noticed. Mike grimaced. “I’ll get you out of here,” the man promised, before- looking at his watch? A fucking Faz watch? Mike slowly grabbed Gregory’s wrist, before suddenly going, "Now!” and he pulled Gregory out of the door, and through another red door- and over there was the exit! Both of them were sprinting, hoping to get there in time, when-
The doors closed. Something was said over the announcer, but Gregory couldn’t hear it. “No- no, please!” he whispered, and he watched, wide-eyed, as Mike tried to use his security badge- it didn’t work. The man cursed loudly. “Fuck!” he exclaimed.
Gregory felt as though this? This wasn’t going to be a nice night.
