Chapter 1: Birth of the Fastest
Notes:
Hello everyone. BlazeFlash here. I’m proud to present to you all the revamp of MHA Chaos Heroes, or just Chaos Heroes now. Now I’m going to get this out the way and say I will not delete my previous story, so you can still check it out if you want to compare or something. Me personally, I like to see it as the building block or a stepping stone for this writing where I can make the mistakes so I won’t make them again. That being said, this one will be vastly different from the previous one. A lot of flaws have been pointed out to me and after taking some time to properly plan the story, I have a whole new vision for it. Some of the major changes are that I won’t switch between POV’s anymore. It seemed like a good idea, but it ended up being difficult to both write and read so abandoning that. Also, the major difference is the world itself. The story will start as canon, during the final year of middle school, but U.A will be a college, and I have plans for those highschool years so we won’t be there for a while.
Unfortunately, updates will be very slow. I don’t have a clear schedule but I would say expect about one chapter every one or two months. With all that said, hope you enjoy.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
The streets of Japan are relatively quiet this time of night. People are walking home, places are closing down, cars are driving through. All in all, a relatively peaceful night. Suddenly a giant armored truck speeds by, with a few police cars driving by after. In the truck, a man dressed in black hoodie and a white skull mask is smiling while driving with abandoned caution, swerving around people and making sharp turns down the road trying to lose the police.
One of the cars opens to reveal the Pro Hero: X-Less. He pulls out a megaphone and calls to the people in the van. “This is your only warning! Stop the vehicle and surrender now!”
In response, the back of the truck swings open with a desk flying at the police. We see a man with gorilla arms bang his chest before a piece of dynamite gets thrown from behind him. X-Less reveals his eye and shoots the dynamite as it blows up midair. The explosion creates a cloud of dust that temporarily blinds them. When the smoke clears, the van had sped up and was beginning to turn out of sight. The police speed up and chase it past a tall building.
From that building, a boy looks down at the scene. He is a bit short, about the size of a 15-year old, looks fairly slim but with some muscle. He’s wearing a tight, green, short sleeve suit with a red belt and white circle in the middle. He has white gloves and red shoes each with a single white strap and a buckle. He has short, wild dark-green hair and freckles on his face. He is currently spinning a chili-dog in his left hand. His azure eyes stare intently at the scene below him.
“Well, it is nearing the end of my break.” He says. He then quickly eats the chili dog in his hand. He then licks the sauce off his gloves and smiles. “Let’s do this.” His eyes are filled with crackling green electricity from behind his goggles.
Back at the chase, one of the thieves throws another stick of dynamite. X-Less once again blows it up, but this causes him to miss the stick that was rolled. One of the officers sees it and warns them “Look out!” but it was too late. The dynamite blows up from under the car sending it and all of its passengers, including X-Less, flying. All at once, police cars try to outmaneuver the incoming car, X-Less is trying to get him and the policeman out, civilians nearby are running away from the scene, and the villains in the van celebrate.
Then suddenly, everything slowed down. As everything seems slow, the boy in green rushes over to the flying car, grabs the hero and police, and places them both on the sidewalk. Then he jumps towards the car and curls himself into a ball and spins really fast, crashing into it and sending it flying high into the air. As he’s in the air, he turns around towards the van and grabs something from his belt, and morphs it into something similar to a drill before landing on the ground. He then goes around the van undoing all the screws and bolts. Afterwards, he runs inside the van and steals the remaining dynamite, and places it in the pro hero’s hands and then leaves.
In real time, everyone sees a green blur move all around the scene. After it leaves, X-Less feels a rush of wind before realizing he and the officer he was with are on the sidewalk. He doesn’t have time to ponder as he and everyone else hear the sound of an impact as the midair police car flies higher. He then notices the dynamite in his hand and gets an idea. He throws the dynamite at the car and, when the two were close, fires his most powerful laser, blowing it and the car to smithereens. What’s left is a few pieces of metal and rubber falling from the sky. Meanwhile, the villains in the van feel a rumble as the van shakes and pieces start falling off, dismantling itself in a matter of seconds. The police are just as confused but quickly take advantage of the opportunity. They barricade the criminals with their cars and pull out their guns.
“Don’t move! We’ve got you surrounded!” One of them barks (not literally).
Everyone looks at the scene, still trying to comprehend what happened.
“Hey, you know what that was?” one of the officers quietly asks the officer next to him. “I couldn’t tell what happened. It went by so fast.”
The man looks around discreetly before replying. “Don’t tell anyone I told you this, but I think it’s this new vigilante group.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. Not much is known about them, but eye witness reports have confirmed a man in green who becomes a blur. Calls himself Sonic. They also mention he talks to people on this device, so we know he’s not working alone.”
“And they can do all this?” He discreetly gestures to the dismantled van and captured criminals.
“I know. Rumors are going around how they might compete with the top ten.”
“Hey!” Another officer calls out to the two. “What are you two discussing?”
“Nothing important.” the second one replies. “Just, uh, discussing the situation.”
“Yeah. Well discuss later. We gotta send in a report.”
“Right. Let’s go.” The officers leave. Above them, on top of the building, the man they were just talking about is sitting on top of the building, watching the chase finish.
“Well now, I say that’s a job well done.” the kid says.
“So, I know what you’re thinking. Why is this dashing kid in a costume running around stopping crime like he’s Batman.”
The kid hears a beeping noise. He goes into his pocket and pulls out a yellow device that slides open to show a green screen. On the screen appears a kid with fox-like features. “Sonic, we’ve got a burning building with people still trapped inside. Should be 30 miles south from your location. Think you can handle it?”
“Well, it’s something I’ve always dreamed about, though this isn’t how I planned it would happen.”
The kid smirks. “I’m already there.” He closes the device and puts it in his pocket before getting up and running off.
“And maybe I’m rushing it a little bit, but I’ve always been one to go fast.” We see him rush through the city, avoiding going unnoticed by people besides a slight wind. “In fact, let's quickly backtrack. Back to where it all began.”
He runs off into the distance

Tonight
Tails is calling him over with Kyouka standing next to him as everyone else stands behind him. Sonic smiles and gets up before running over.
“Men are not born equal. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. Someone has something someone else doesn’t. Some are born lucky, others are lucky to be born. I learned this lesson at the age of four.
We live in a superhuman society, where more than 80% of the population have abilities known as Quirks. What was once myth became reality. I however was not one of the lucky 80%. However, something happened to me that would change my life before it even began. Something extraordinary.”
We cut to an apartment, where we see a young, slim woman with green hair wearing an apron, who just finished cooking dinner. She set the food before calling out to someone.
“Izuku! Dinner’s ready!” She called out.
“Coming Mama.” A reply came from a room in the back of the apartment. As the room opened, a young boy wearing an All Might-onesie. He had fluffy green hair, bright green eyes, and four symmetrical freckles on each of his cheeks. But the most peculiar thing about this child was the strange glowing green rock held tightly in his hand. This is Izuku Midoriya. That rock was given to me when I was born by my father, Hisashi Midoriya, an archaeologist. He came back with it on the day after Izuku was born.
Flashback
“Waaaaaahaah”
As Hisashi came through the door and was met with the sight of his wife, Inko, trying to calm down their new-born son.
Inko turned in his direction. “Oh, Hisashi! Thank goodness you're here. I have tried everything to calm him down but nothing is working. Quick, help me.”
As Hisashi put down his things to help his wife calm his son down. Suddenly, a green glow started emitting from the bag. Izuku notices this and stops crying to stare at the bag. Both parents are surprised by the sudden silence and look to where he is staring at. Inko is surprised to see the green glow, but Hisashi’s eyes light up in recognition. He slowly moves toward the bag and reaches into it. Very soon, he took out a green emerald, which was glowing. Izuku sees the glowing rock and starts smiling while reaching towards it.
“You want the glowing rock, Izuku?” Inko coos at her baby, glad he’s finally calmed down. Izuku giggled in happiness. She smiled.
“Well Hisashi.” She says as she turns to her husband, giving him a knowing look.
Hisashi looks at the emerald and then his son. He smiles. “It’s alright. I was going to give it to you as our anniversary present, but I guess I can change it to his first birthday gift.” Izuku giggled again. “Alright, sprout.” He says as he gives it to his son. Izuku happily took it and hugged it close, instantly relaxing. His parents both smiled lovingly at the scene.
Izuku has kept the emerald on him at all times. From eating to sleeping to even bathing. Anytime he lost the emerald, he started to cry until it was returned. As he got older, he started holding it less, but always kept it in close proximity. It is now Izuku’s fourth birthday, and he is super excited not just because it was his birthday, but because it is the day he gets to find out his quirk. He sat down and was about to start eating when his mother called him out
“Now Izuku, where are your manners?.”
“Sorry. Itadakimasu!” Izuku starts to quickly eat.
“Izuku I get that you’re excited but slow down. You’re eating faster than normal.”
It should be noted Izuku always ate fast.
“Okay.” Izuku pouted as he ate like normal. Still fast but the normal fast.
When they were done eating and washing the dishes, much to Izuku’s complaint, they got in the car and drove to the clinic. Izuku bounced in his seat, excited to find out what his quirk could be.
"Sorry kid, it's never gonna happen." The young boy went as white as a sheet as his All Might figurine dropped onto the floor.
"Oh no...So you really think there is something wrong then? Most of the other kindergartners in his class have started to show signs already..."
"My records say you're a fourth-generation quirk user. What powers do you and the boy's father have?"
"Nothing too special. I can float small objects,-"
As she said this Midoriya's action figure floated back up into her hand to punctuate her point.
"-and my husband breathes fire. They're useful enough, I suppose."
"Izuku should've already manifested one of these quirks or a combination of them both but after viewing his X-rays I don't think he's going to." The doctor said suddenly showing the X-rays footage of a foot.
"You see when superpowers first began appearing, there were many research studies conducted and doctors discovered a link between the bones in a person's foot and their likelihood of developing a quirk. People with powers have only one joint in their pinky toes. Their bodies have evolved into a more streamlined version of the human form. You can see here Izuku has two joints in his pinkie, like roughly 20 percent of the population these days." Izuku couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He didn’t know what to say, or if he could say anything.
"Based on the research that's available it's safe to say your son isn't going to develop a quirk."
Izuku was sitting in his room, quiet and alone, with a blank look on his face and his emerald in hand. Everyone who had planned to come celebrate his birthday had suddenly canceled or had other plans. He had just finished talking to his mother, who had just apologized for not doing enough. It hurt that no one believed he could achieve his dreams. Izuku himself started to doubt he could do it. Suddenly, the front door opened and he heard his father announce his arrival.
“Hello family. I’m home. Hope I didn’t miss the party.” Hisashi called out. Helooked around to see an empty house. “Where is everybody?”
“Hisashi?” He heard his wife. He turned to see his wife come from the kitchen. “Oh Hisashi! You’re here!” She ran to hug him, which he readily accepted.
“Honey, what’s wrong? Where’s Izuku?” Hisashi asked. Inko then went on to explain everything, from the doctor’s visit, to everyone canceling, to her talk with her son, and at the end she just cried.
“Calm down, honey. It will be alright. Just let me talk to him.” Hisashi assured his wife. After Inko calmed down, he walked towards his son’s room and knocked. “Hey sprout. I heard about what happened. Can I come in?”
Izuku didn’t respond, so Hisashi slowly entered the room and saw the state Izuku was in. “Oh, Izuku,” he muttered. He walks up to his son and hugs him.
“Daddy.” Izuku cris. Tears were still running down his face. “I’m sorry.”
“What are you apologizing for, sprout?” Hisashi comforts his son. “You did nothing wrong.”
“But I’m quirkless.” Izuku cries. “I can never be a hero like All Might.”
Hisashi said nothing to his son’s claims, just comforting him. When he finally spoke, he said “No you can’t be a hero like All Might, or Endeavor or anyone else.” He then releases his son and grabs him by the shoulders to face him. “Because you will be your own kind of hero.”
Izuku looks up at his father, tears still flowing.
“Listen to me son. Power does not make a hero. It is simply a gift. People will get many kinds of gifts in their lives. What you do with those gifts that make you who you are. The type of hero you will be is up to you, but I know it will be amazing. Just remember that if you try, you can do anything. As long as you truly believe in yourself, those thoughts will become your power. Understand?”
Izuku sniffled, but still nods.
“I know it may seem bad right now, but you are not worth less than anyone. You are special in your own way. And you are going to do great things, alright. Never let anyone or anything bring you down.”
“O-Okay.” Izuku utters out. “I love you, Daddy.” Izuku hugs his father, still having tears running, but this time with a big smile on his face.
“I love you too son.” He hugs back.
After a brief moment, the two let go of each other and joined Inko for dinner. Inko saw the joyful look on her son’s face and smiled, happy he was feeling better. The three spent the rest of the day enjoying Izuku’s birthday. Hisashi had to leave the next day, but he promised to stay in contact and visit.
The following days were just as tough as that day. Izuku told everyone he was quirkless, and everyone made fun of him or looked at him in disgust. Kids would taunt him and ignore him, teachers were judging him harshly. Even his best friend, Katsuki Bakugo, turned his back on him and abandoned him, and even started to bully him.
Katsuki (“Not Kacchan,” Izuku thought. Kaachan was my friend.”) would often brag about his quirk and was constantly praised for it. This eventually got to his head and led him to believe he was above everyone and that he was destined to be the next #1 hero, and attack anyone who says otherwise. This led to the situation he’s in now.
“Stop it Katsuki.” Izuku shouted. “Can’t you see you’re hurting him.” behind him, a little boy was on the floor, crying while holding a head injury.
“He was looking down on me, so I just taught him a lesson.” Katsuki said, with his two friends by his side. “I can teach you a lesson too if you want.” He slammed his fist into his hand as an explosion came out.
“This is wrong, Katsuki.” Izuku retorted. “What type of hero goes around beating people up just cause they can?”
“What do you know about being a hero, Deku? You’re quirkless. You can’t be a hero no matter how hard you try. All you’re good for is running away.”
“Oh yeah.” Izuku calmly replied. “Well who's gonna stop me? Certainly not you.” He got into a battle stance. “I’m gonna be a hero. And I’ll do it my way.”
“Grr.” Katsuki growled. “You’re really pissing me off. Get Him!” All three boys charged at Izuku. Izuku held his ground and prepared to fight.
Half a year has passed since then. Izuku lost that fight, but he went down fighting; even got a few clean hits in. From that moment on, Izuku decided he was going to do his very best to be a hero. Now, it is July 15th. Izuku woke up happier than usual, but not as happy as last year. It was his birthday, so he was optimistic today would be better than the past year. He came out of his room and ran into his mother, who wished him a happy birthday. Unfortunately, his father wasn’t coming. They had lost contact with each other during the previous year. It was so sudden, one day they were chatting, the next he just disappeared. Izuku was sad his father couldn’t come, but he had to stay optimistic. He decided to go to the park where he used to hang out with Katsuki and his friends. He was still a bit sad at his falling out with his former friend, and hoped one day they could be friends again. He was brought out of his thoughts, however, he heard a faint cry.
“Ow.”
Izuku looked towards the sound and saw a little girl on the ground with Bakugou and his friends standing over her. The girl was short, had purple hair and was wearing a purple skirt and a t-shirt with a guitar logo. Her most defining feature, however, was her earlobes that looked like the ends of a pair of headphones.
“What do you think you’re doing here?” Bakugou spat at her.
The girl sits up before answering. “I just wanted to play here, what’s wrong with that”
“What’s wrong is that we were going to play here and you’re in the way!” Bakugou exclaims.
“And you think that gives you the right to push me!”
“I make the rules around here, so I can do whatever I want. Guys, let's teach her what happens when someone defies me.” Bakugou punches his palm while igniting an explosion from it as one of the boys there grew wings and the other stretched his fingers. The girl was scared of what would happen.
Izuku, seeing the entire interaction, immediately moved into action and went to help the girl, but was too far.
‘I can’t reach her in time.’ Izuku thought. He still kept running, despite knowing it was a pointless endeavor. ‘If only I could be faster. Fast enough to reach her.’ As if responding to his thoughts, the emerald in his pocket started to glow. That same glow started to envelop him faintly. Without realizing it, Izuku started running a little faster. ‘I just have to be faster!’ Izuku’s speed increases more. ‘Fast enough to save her.’ Izuku’s aura brightens and green electricity starts flowing off him.
‘I want to be the fastest, so I can reach everyone.’
Then suddenly, everything started to slow down. Izuku was confused and looked around. He saw everything as if it was in slow motion. He started to run faster and faster until…
ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM
He ran. Ran faster than he ever ran in his life.
And he never felt so free.
Bakugou went to strike the girl, ready to teach her a lesson. The girl closed her eyes and held up her hands to brace herself. Bakugou smiled and started poping explosions in his hand. "Take this!" he shouted.
ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM
Suddenly, he felt a strong wind blow by; so strong he had to cover his eyes - and when he opened them, the girl was gone. He stood there in shock, confused at what just happened.
“Bakugou.”
He looked to his left and saw Izuku with his back turned, with the girl in front of him. He was sparkling with small amounts of green electricity, and when he turned around his eyes were glowing and had that same electricity flowing through them. The girl opened her eyes and looked and was shocked at the new person. She also noticed she was in a different position than earlier.
Bakugou looked at him for a few seconds, only to go from shocked to annoyed. “Tch. What are you doing here you quirkless Deku?! And what is with all the electricity?”
Izuku didn’t answer back. He just stared at him with his hardened gaze.
Bakugou was seething from being ignored. “Fine! If you won’t talk, I’ll beat the answers out of you.” He charged at Izuku with the intent of hitting him.
Only to be knocked back as he felt something shove him on the ground. He stared up only to see Izuku standing over him, looking down on him. Bakugou was shocked, only for it to quickly turn into rage. “How did you do that Deku!” We threw his hand at him, intending on hitting him with an explosion. But when he fired, Izuku was no longer there.
“Aah” “Oof”
Bakugou turned around and saw his lackeys beaten up on the ground, with Izuku standing over them.
“Not all men are born equal. I learned that at the age of four.”
Bakugo was angry that this worthless Deku was beating them. He got up and charged at him once more. Izuku turned around, then disappeared. Bakugo stopped.
“You have a lot of nerve Bakugou”
Bakugou turned around and was met with a glaring Izuku. “You take advantage of your power and use it to put down others.” Izuku ran at him faster than he could see and pushed him into a tree.
“But I also learned it doesn't have to stay that way.”
Izuku gazed at him once more. “But you shouldn’t. Strength doesn’t give you the right to lord over people. That’s what a bully does. And that is what you are, a bully.”
“That those born towards the bottom can still find a place at the top.”
Bakugo regained his bearings and lunged at him, but Izuku quickly got behind him and punched him.
“Aggh,” Bakugou cried as he was taken down.
Izuku looked at his former friend. “Power is a gift. And I want to use my gift to help people. To reach out to them. To give them freedom. To give them hope. That’s the kind of hero I’ll be.” He smirks. “And I’ll be fast enough to overcome any obstacle in my way. That includes you.”
Bakugo saw red and decided he was going to kill the boy. He got up and started charging at Izuku. “DEKUUU!!!” He screamed.
Before he could continue, he felt something pierce his head and started spasming. A few seconds later, he fell on the ground unconscious. Izuku looks up and sees the girl on the ground with her right earlobe, which looks like a cable port, extended and currently retracting from Bakugo. He looks at his former friend one more time before sighing and walking over to the girl.
“Are you okay? Need some help?” Izuku asked, his arm stretched out.
“Y-yes. Thank you.” she stammers out as she takes his hand and pulls herself up.
Izuku smiles. “No problem. Who are you by the way?”
“My name’s Kyouka Jiro. My family just moved here.”
“Nice to meet you Jiro. I’m Izuku Midoriya.”
“Thank you Midoriya.” She says. They both then hear a loud honking noise. They turn around and see a car. “That’s my parents. Sorry, but I got to go.” She turns around about to leave.
“Wait!” Izuku called out. She stopped and turned to him.
“What is it?” She asked.
Izuku puts his hands in front of him and looks down. “Do you wanna come over to my house later?” I ask nervously “It’s my birthday and I’m having a party, but I have no friends to invite. So do you wanna come?” He asks looking up at the end.
Kyouka thinks about this. “Sure, why not.” She says eventually. “You did save me. It’s the least I could do. Besides,” she walked closer to him. “If you don’t have any friends, then I can be your first.”
Izuku beams. “Really?! Alright!” He says. He quickly leaves and comes back with a piece of paper. “This is my address. Come by at 3:00”
“I will. See you later!” She says as she turns and leaves. Izuku grins.
“This is the start of my journey. This is the story of how I became one of the world’s greatest heroes, and the fastest thing alive.”

Chapter Text
Izuku is impatiently tapping his finger, waiting for class to end. His teacher was just droning about not not being complacent and quirks and stuff that he's heard twelve times today. It was honestly always boring to him, but he wanted it to end extra hard today. It was the last day before summer break, and he wanted to spend time with his family. He looked at the clock and saw he only had two minutes left. He was counting the seconds
"And so while your on break, don't forget everything you-"
The bell ring, and the class feels a strong wind from the back of the class. They all turn to see an empty desk where one Izuku Midoriya should have been. Shortly after they all heard the cry of "FREEEEEEDOOOOOOOM!"
The teacher just stared in bewilderment before addressing the class. "Well then, um, enjoy your break. We will see you next month."
One of the students looks at the desk with distain and growls. "Damn Deku."

Izuku ran home as fast as he legally could. Today was the first day of his break away from that crappy school and gets to spend his days doing what he wants. Within a few minutes, Izuku was at his front door before stopping and smiling. He burst the door and walks inside.
“I’m home!” he announces as he puts his things on the couch.
“Welcome back sweetie.” Inko walks into the living room to greet him. “How was school?”
“It was boring as usual.” Izuku answered with a smile. “The best part was leaving."
"Oh come on sweetie, you always say that."
"And I'll keep saying that until it stops being true."
Suddenly, two voices were heard. “Big brother’s back.” “Chao Chao.”
Izuku turned to the voices and smiles. “Itani. Eri. You guys missed me?”
The two figures go up to Izuku and hug him. One of them was a small, green creature with even smaller, purple wings on its back. This was Itani, the family pet. Well, that was the legal designation, but everyone who met him knew he was much more like another child to the family.
Izuku is sitting under a tree in a park, having just got out of school he was waiting for his mother to arrive. She had told him she was going to be late and to wait for her there. So here he was relaxing.
*RUSTLE*
Izuku looks in the leaves and is surprised at what he found. Inside the bush was a small, green creature with yellow at the tip of its head. It had blue eyes, small arms, tiny purple wings, and a yellow ball floating above its head.
“What the?” Izuku stares in awe at the unknown creature. It hears him and looks in his direction.
“Chao?” It says as it looks at Izuku questioningly. Izuku gets even more confused.
“Um hi.” he managed to say. It continues to stare. “I’m Izuku Midoriya.”
The little guy responds. “Chao Chao.” It begins to fly out of the bush towards Izuku and circles his head before stopping right in front of his face.
“Chao? Is that your name?” Izuku questions. The creature shakes its head.
‘It can understand me? Does that mean it is intelligent?’ Izuku analyzes. ‘That makes communication easier. Plus it looks friendly. Though its lack of vocabulary might make it hard for me to communicate with it. Plus, why that specific word ‘Chao’? What does it mean?’
“Chao?” Izuku breaks out of his thoughts and sees the creature stare at him worriedly.
“I said that out loud, didn’t I?” The creature nods. “Whoops. Sorry about that.” he apologized. Then a thought pops into his head.
“Chao? Is that what you are? A Chao?” It nods its head, smiling. “Chao Chao.”
Izuku starts to think. ‘This … Chao is definitely interesting. What exactly is it? Where did it come from? Are there more of them? It would be easier to talk to if I had something to call it.’ Then an idea came to him. “Do you mind if I give you a name?”
“Chao Chao.” Flies up and down while clapping its arms, still smiling.
“Hmm.” Izuku thinks. “How about Itani?”
“Chao!” It says, still smiling.
“Okay then. Nice to meet you, Itani.” Izuku sticks out his hand before realizing. “Oh, right, no hands. You probably-”
To his surprise however, Itani flew up to his finger and started shaking it. Izuku was stunned in place, but that quickly turned into a smile as he shook back.
Not long after Inko finally arrived, Izuku had to explain to his mom what his new friend was and asked if they could keep him. And that’s how Itani Midoriya became a part of the Midoriya family. He was very energetic and cheerful, and always wanted to hang around Izuku. Despite lots of research, Izuku couldn’t find anything about Chao. Though he learned a lot from Itani alone. He was just as smart if not smarter than the average human. Despite his very limited vocabulary, he understood basically anything that was said in all languages. Although it was troubling at first to understand him, the Midoriya’s quickly learned how to communicate with him through his body language. Though it wasn’t perfect, they could get a pretty accurate idea of what he’s trying to say. Though funnily enough, Kyouka was the first to notice how expressive it was and come up with the idea. He was also incredibly fast-compared to the average human, but his small disposition meant he was relatively weak.
Still, he was a joy to have around. He was friendly to everyone and was quick to get along with everyone once they got past his unknown existence. He mostly stuck to Izuku, though that has changed in recent times.
“Good to see you guys, too.” Izuku says as Itani lands in his hair and snuggles.
“Big brother, can we go play?” The little girl asks Izuku while tugging on his leg. She was fairly short with white hair and ruby eyes, and a tiny horn on the right side of her head. This is Izuku’s sister, Eri. She was adopted, but they treated her with just as much love as if she was one of their own. How she became part of the family was, unfortunately, not a happy story.
Earlier this year
Izuku was walking back from a store with a chili dog in hand. He tasted one a few years back and he loved them. As he finishes my chili dog, he walks by an alley. Suddenly something bumps into his leg.
“Oomph”
He looked down at what ran into him and did not like what he saw. On the ground was a little girl, no older than five, wearing a hospital gown and covered in bandages. She had snow-white hair that was currently touching the floor and a small horn sticking from her head. She looked up at Izuku, her ruby eyes filled with fear and pain.
Izuku crouches down to her level and looks her in the eye. “Hey.” He says as gently as possible as he stretches his hand towards her. She flinches back causing him to pause. “It’s okay. There’s no need to be scared. I’m not gonna hurt you.” Izuku continues to slowly reach his hand towards her. She still seems scared but doesn’t back away. When he’s about to touch her head, she closes her eyes as if she’s bracing for something. Izuku touches the top of her head and rubs it. She slowly opens her eyes and looks up at him, fear being replaced with curiosity and comfort.
“Eri!” They hear someone call from within the alley. The girl jumps, eyes filled with fear again, as she grabs onto Izuku’s arm tightly and starts shaking. “Come on now, don't be shy! The boss really misses ya.”
Izuku was getting up, but was interrupted by a tugging at his leg. He looks down to see the girl with a mix of fear and desperation.
“Please.” She says quietly, her voice shaky. “Please, h-help. I don’t want to go back.”
At that moment, Izuku gained a determined expression on his face. A man soon approaches from the alley, wearing a black bird mask on, and spots us. “Ahh there you a-”
Izuku quickly runs up to him and punches him as hard as he can. The man instantly gets knocked on his back. Izuku felt a little drowsy, but was too focused, and fast, to notice. He runs up to Eri, quickly picks her up, and runs out of that alley.
About a minute later, Izuku ran into the middle of a forest area. He sat on one knee and set the little girl down, who looked a little disoriented after the quick travel.
"Hey there." Izuku softly spoke. to the little girl. The girl jumps a little as she tries to regain her bearings. Izuku awkwardly smiles at her and scratches the back of his head. "Yeah, Sorry about that. I know most people aren't used to moving that fast."
The girl comes down from her dizziness, but then immediately starts to panic. Izuku notices this and quickly tries to calm her down.
"Hey, hey. Look at me. Look at me." he says in a calm voice. She listens, though is still noticeably panicking. "It's okay. You don't have to worry anymore. You're safe."
"But-but, the bad men. They'll come after you. They'll hurt you. You have to let me back." she cries frantically.
But Izuku just smiles. "They'll come after me, huh? Well then," He then runs, creating a whirlwind around the forest. Eri closes her eyes to protect herself from the wind. When it calms down, she hesitantly opens them and before widening her eyes. surrounding are a bunch of little critters, fruits and flowers. She feels something enter her hair and looks to see Izuku with a white flower in his hair. She touches her own head and feels a flower there as well. She looks at her savior with shock.
"They'll have to catch me first." he smiles warmly at her. "And I'm the fastest thing alive, so that will never happen."
"But," Eri continues in defiance. "You'll get hurt around me. Everyone does. I'm cursed."
"And who decided that?" Izuku questioned. "All I see is a cute little girl who's trapped by her fears. So I'm making it my duty to set her free."
"But-but," Eri is on the verge of tears. "I made my dad disappear, and my mom angry."
Izuku frowned at this and knelt down. "Hey." He looked her in the eye. "I don't know what happened to you or what you did, but I do know that whatever happened wasn't your fault. You don't deserve to be hurt, no matter what anyone says." He smiles once again. "You deserve to be happy. To be free. To smile. And if you don't believe me." He spreads his arms out. "They certainly think so."
Eri looks away from him and sees all the critters surrounding them, happily chirping and crawling around them. Two small birds, one blue and one pink fly on top of Eri and chirp. Eri just stares at them, frozen in shock as tears begin to roll down her cheek.
"Listen" Izuku says. "I can't tell that everything will be alright, that nothing bad will happen. But I can tell you that no matter what I will always be there for you. And that I won't ever be hurt."
Eri sniffles, and tears start pouring down her eyes as she shakily smiles. "Promise?"
"Promise" Izuku says.
For the next few minutes, Eri is crying in Izuku's arms.
After she calmed down, Izuku took her to his home. He was immediately greeted by a worried Inko and Itani when they saw Eri clutched in his arms. He told them what happened and the two immediately went to comfort Eri. They were going to go to the hospital and police, but Eri refused. Luckily Inko, being a nurse, decided to check her over herself. While they couldn't get anything accurate, Inko claimed that she was physically fine outside of scars, but it was clear to everyone that whatever happened traumatized her greatly, as she was still extremely subdued and nervous around everyone outside Izuku. Slowly but surely, she would start opening up, even introducing her to some family friends, and for the next few months they would take care of her. After 3 months, which she showed signs of getting better, Izuku asked her if she wanted to be adopted and have her officially be a part of our family. She immediately accepted, and cried while doing so. It took a bit of time, and maybe a fabricated story of what happened, but within the week she officially became Eri Midoriya.
As time went on, Eri became more and more happy and outgoing, though only around her family. And though she was still afraid of going outside, Izuku sometimes took her to play with the forest creatures with Itani, who stuck around her during those times to help her get comfortable. The two of them were very playful with her and were always there to cheer her up and comfort her, Itani eventually decided stayed by her side permanently. Inko was always gentle with Eri and treated her as if she was her own daughter. She even bought her green hair dye and contacts because Eri claimed to want to 'look like her family.' They all cooed when she said that. Overall, she was a happy addition to their growing family.
Izuku pet Eri on the head and said "Sure Eri. What do you want to play?"
"I want to see you play with the guitar."
"Okay then." He ran upstairs and got a red guitar.
He then sat on the couch and started playing.
"Alright everyone, get ready." He says. Everyone gathers around.

Izuku starts strumming his guitar, performing a soft melody.
We get a montage of the all four of them getting together.
Izuku is playing his guitar. Inko is smiling lovingly while Eri and Itani cheer. Eventually they try to start singing.
Inko is seen dressed up while "holding" Eri hostage. Eri "screams for help" and Izuku and Itani, both dressed up, go to "save" her.
Izuku is chasing Eri around the room, while Eri cheerfully laughs. Izuku then speeds up and picks her up and hugs her. She playfully tries to get out before surrendering.
Eri and Izuku are shown drawing Itani while he poses. After they finish, Eri shows a poorly drawn Itani while Izuku draws a completely different colored Chao. They both look at each other’s picture before laughing.
Eri, Izuku and Itani are playing a card game. Izuku groans in frustration as Itani wins, with Eri comforting him. Inko watches in the back while cooking dinner.
All four of them are shown at the dinner table eating together. Eri drops her food, but Izuku quickly catches it and puts it back on her plate. He smiles at her before giving her a noogie. Eri complains and playfully pouts as Izuku chuckles. Eventually, they all start laughing.
They are all watching a movie on the couch, with Eri in between Inko and Izuku while Itani sits on her lap. Eri and Itani start to cheer excitedly to a cool part and poorly reenact it as it plays.
We cut to the end of the movie where Eri and Itani have fallen asleep. Izuku affectional rubs them before picking them up and going to his room.
He tucks Eri into bed while putting Itani in a small makeshift bed right on his desk. He is about to turn away before he stops looks back. Behind Itani is a shiny green gem. Izuku smiles at it fondly and goes to pick it up. As he holds it in his hand, he stares at it with a longing look.
"We have a nice little family here. It's nice and lively everyday. Eri and Itani are bundles of joy. You would have loved them." He says quietly, before frowning. "I wish you could meet them. I wish you were here, or at least in contact, letting us know you're okay. I miss you. Mom misses you. I just-" He's cut off as the gem begins to hum and glows briefly. Izuku stares at it, even after it returned to normal. He puts on a small smile and chuckles. "Goodnight, Dad." He puts the emerald back on the shelf right next to two photos, one of a man next to a younger Inko and another of Inko, Eri, Itani and Izuku celebrating together.
He turns off the light. Izuku gets into bed right beside Eri and soon falls asleep. Eri shifts and turns to face Izuku and hugs his arm.
