"My back hurts" Pavitr whined. For as carefree as he generally was, he did deal with a rather unpleasant amount of chronic pain and it often felt like his spine was tight and on fire.
Hobie frowned and ran his hand down the other Spider's back curiously. Pavitr groaned and he quickly retracted his hand. "That hurt?"
"No" Pavitr told him. "No, it didn't hurt"
"Can I try somethin'?" Hobie asked. Pavitr nodded. "A'ight then, mate" he smiled. "Lie down on yo' stomach"
Pavitr was a little confused but did as he was told. "Do you know what you're doing?"
"Got the idea well 'nuff" Hobie replied, which didn't exactly fill the other boy with confidence, but they were in too deep at this point. He placed his hands firmly on Pavitr's lower back and pressed until they both heard a sharp crack. He then repeated this motion with the boy's middle and upper back.
"Do you have a chiropractic license?" Pavitr asked at one point, surprised by how much this was actually helping instead of just causing more damage.
"Nah" Hobie replied. "Just guessin'"
"Oh" Pavitr chuckled nervously. He didn't exactly love that Hobie was using guesswork on his spine, but the pain had also loosened up a fair bit so he supposed he couldn't complain all that much.
"I think I've done all I can" Hobie told him, so he sat back up, letting out a breath as his weight shifted back into putting pressure on his spine, though it hurt far less now. "Ya feelin' any betta?"
"A little" Pavitr smiled. "Thanks, Hobie"
"Jus' glad I could do somethin'" Hobie returned the smile and ruffled the other boy's hair. "Such a ray o' sunshine. Sucks to see you in pain" he chuckled. "Glad ya feelin' better now"
They took it easy the rest of the day.
