Summary:

You can let go of the bottle now, you're safe."

"Hmm. I'll say when I'm safe." I turned and leaned my back against the bar, straining my neck to look up at him.

Nya meets a man at the bar who saves her from three creeps and shenanigans ensue

Notes:

Hi sweet babies! Long time no see! Sorry for being gone life has been a biatch and yall know how it is. This was a challenge my dear friend posed upon me in January and I finally finished it 🙌 I'm still working on my other WIPS but please enjoy some hot Curtis Everett as a fighter! Smooches

Work Text:

The air is hot and sticky, excitement and adrenaline filling the atmosphere. Excited voices all blending into one roar, all going on about who may win and how much money they could make.

I wish I shared the sentiment of the crowd. I'm grumpy and irritable, and I'd rather be at home swiping left on Tinder for shits and giggles.

The heat makes me glad I brought my shorts and t-shirt from work. I gulp down a large mouthful of beer, the suds filling my stomach, but doing nothing to cool me off.

'Why did I let her drag me to this!?!?' I thought bitterly as I leaned on the wood of the bar.

The place was crowded but not to the point that I couldn't move around. I didn’t see many women, but there were a few scattered about, probably groupies or girlfriends of the fighters.

"Where the fuck is Rae at anyway!?" I mumbled as I looked around. Then it hit me. I knew where she was.

My best friend Rae dragged me to a low budget fight club that her boyfriend was a part of. The league was in its infancy, and slowly was getting a bigger following. K was in the middle weight section, and in order for me to support my friend and her man, I would have to stay awhile, much to my chagrin. And knowing those two, she was probably giving him a pre-slob on his knob session. You know, for good luck and all that. Whenever they were together, they could barely keep their hands off each other.

I placed my bottle down on the bar, just finishing the contents within. I was trying to signal the bartender for another while I was digging into my purse to text my boss that I was suddenly not feeling well. It was a damn lie, but he didn't need to know all that.

"Another round?" A hoarse voice spoke beside me.

I didn't bother to look up, I was sure whoever it was that was stating the obvious wasn't worth my time. I texted my boss that I was having explosive diarrhea and answered.

"Gee, your powers of perception are immaculate. Seeing my beers empty and you offer another." I rolled my eyes as I put the phone back in my purse.

"Bitch like you should be grateful anyone's even willing to buy you a drink."

I finally looked at the gremlin that had the audacity to speak to my unapproachable face and I sighed. It was three greasy, sweaty men who didn't seem to understand I wasn't interested.

"I'm good. I got my own drinks." I said as calmly as I could as I gripped the bottle just in case.

"No one wants to buy your fat ass shit!"

Another spat at me. Yeah, I'm fat. Tell me something I don't know stupid. I was not about to let these three assholes bring my insecurities out when they couldn't even speak properly to me. I'm a lady after all. But apparently me being fat wasn't an issue until I turned them down.

Before I could speak and royally cuss his ass out, a hand on my hip made me freeze. It was too big to be Rae's and K would never touch me like that.

I looked up and I felt all the blood leave my face except my cheeks. He was tall, so tall. He was fine, like damn daddy fine. He had a buzzcut, blue eyes and the pinkest lips I had ever seen, that were in a frown.

Why was this man holding onto me? I had no clue but I was in a delicate situation and I needed to be careful. For all I knew, he was friends with these dicks and cornered me from behind. He spoke and addressed them.

"Is there a problem?"  His voice was gruff, it seemed as though he didn't use it that often.

"N-no champ. Ain't no problem. We didn't know she was with you."

"Yeah, she's with me. Baby came to watch me fight." He kissed my cheek which set my face aflame.

I was trembling in his hold and I was worried it would give me away. I relaxed a little as I watched the men scramble, he waited until they were out of sight to release his hold on my hip.

"You can let go of the bottle now, you're safe."

"Hmm. I'll say when I'm safe." I turned and leaned my back against the bar, straining my neck to look up at him.

You'd think I'd be a little nicer to the guy who just saved my ass, but my nerves were wrecked and my mouth has a mind of her own.  His frown returned in full force and I instantly felt guilty.

"Shit. I'm sorry." I sighed. "My friend left me all alone because her boyfriend's fighting and she's probably giving him some, if you know what I mean." I raised my eyebrows. "And then those assholes, well you saw and thank you for helping me." I exhaled.

"Curtis." He raised his hand, a small smile on his face.

"Nya. Pleased to meet you. "

I smiled back and shook his hand. We both checked the other out, me holding in my swoon at the way his white shirt strained against his broad chest, his black jeans and boots completed the look making him look absolutely fuckable. I watched as his eyes trailed down my hip, my short shorts cut at a dangerous angle, showing way more of my thighs than I wanted, but I didn't have time to find another pair while I was rushing to work.  His eyes lingered on my breasts and the words "Built Ford tough" stretched the fabric making the words cracked and worn looking. I figured he was going to say something about it but until something else grabs his attention.

Curtis' posture stiffens as our hands are locked together and next thing I knew I was pulled up against him. Before I could react, I heard a group of rowdy men behind me, not caring who they pushed that seemed to be in their way.

My hands went to his chest to brace myself from smacking face first into the wall of muscle he called a body. All I could hear was shouting, what I assumed were drink orders at the bartender. Curtis' hand wraps around my lower back and my whole body lights up from within.

"We gotta stop meeting like this." He smirked down at me while I stifled my giggle.

We were so caught up at staring at each other that we didn't notice someone was calling him.

"Champ! Who's the broad?"

"My good luck charm." He smiled.

"Umm champ?" I asked as I pushed myself off of his chest much to my own dismay, but for my own good before my inner hoe started shining through.

"Yeah. I'm a fighter here. Heavyweight champion." His hand rubs down my back, and I fight the shiver that is trying to erupt in my bones.

"Ohh." My eyebrows raise in surprise.

A voice from behind us takes my attention.

"Who's this man holding onto my best friend!?" Rae yells and I give us some much needed space.

"Curtis." He looked at me and I smiled sheepishly.

"Ain't no one tell you to let her go! Go feel her up some more." Her devilish grin makes me turn red all over again.

"Rae!" I screeched at her to which she grinned.

"Anyway I know you. Heavyweight champ right?"

"Yeah."

"Good luck tonight. But with my bestie here I'm sure she gave you some luck. I'm going to go get us some drinks. Y'all two make nice now!"

She pushed me, sending me flying into Curtis' chest once more and sauntered off.

"I'm sorry." I straightened myself and backed away.

"Don't worry about it. But I do have to go to the back."

I instantly felt bummed. My lips couldn't help but pout.

"Um, since you did technically save me twice, I guess I can stick around. I was going to leave after my friend's boyfriend's match, but I should be here to cheer you on." I smiled.

"I'd really like that. In case you have to go," he pulled a card out of his back pocket and handed it to me. "Call me. And I mean it."

I nodded dumbly and held the card in my hand. I watched him turn and walk away, my brain forgetting to breathe. I didn't even realize Rae came back beside me as I watched his large form walk through the crowd, everyone stepping aside to give him space.

"Ooh girl. I should leave you alone more often." She laughed and handed me another beer. I quickly put the card in my purse so as not to lose it.

"W-what? Huh?" I turned and looked at her.

I still felt his large hand on my hip, the feel of his beard on my cheek when he kissed me. The look he gave me while we stared at each other. The way he ran his hand down the curve of my back sent an involuntary shiver I prayed wouldn't notice, but I'm sure she did, judging by the way her brown eyes danced.

Feeling overwhelmed, I pressed the cold bottle to my forehead because my temperature had suddenly skyrocketed.

"Oh this man made you lose your mind."

"Did not!" I took the beer from my head and pouted.

"Got you all hot and tingly, ain't he?"

I rolled my eyes, then proceeded to tell her about the three asshole men, and how Curtis came and "saved" me and the kiss on my cheek.

"And you're not in the back right now getting your back broken like a glow stick, why?!" She asked incredulously.

"Listen you," I pointed at her, then I realized something. "Where the hell is your shirt?!" Rae was in lingerie basically, a black lace bralette that doesn't hide shit. I was unaware she had that hidden under her shirt.

"K ripped my shirt, and well, it just couldn't be saved." She smiled and took a sip of her cocktail.

"Such a shame." I said as sarcastically as I could.

"Being a hater ain't getting you nowhere. Your back still ain't broken."

"Whatever. When is K fighting? And does he even have energy left?" I rolled my eyes as I took a sip.

"He's up next. Should be coming out soon." She bounced on the balls of her feet, giggling with excitement.

I kept looking around, hoping to find Curtis in the crowd once again, but I couldn't and I tried to hide my disappointment before Rae caught on cause I knew she would. She's known me way too long. Her nails digging into my arms broke my trance as I saw K leaning against the entrance by the locker room, smiling devilishly at his woman while she squealed beside me.

I smiled and waved at him, hoping he would get through this fight quickly and with minimal harm. I held Rae's hand as we watched him climb into the ring, and took to his corner. The referee made them shake hands and the bell rang.

"He's gonna kick ass." I spoke into her ear and she stepped closer to me.

We watched as his opponent charged for him and he stood there. I muttered my confusion under my breath as I felt Rae standing still. K dodged the first punch easily and before the guy could make another punch, K swung and punched him square in the jaw, making him stumble back and eventually landing on his ass. The referee intervened, checking to see if he was able to continue. Rae and I held our excitement until K was announced the winner.

Rae quickly ran towards the ring, climbing in to give her man a hug while I cheered and clapped from my place at the bar. K and Rae come back towards me, and I ask the bartender for a round of shots to congratulate K on kicking the guys ass quickly. We clinked our shot glasses and we all grimaced before inhaling the vodka as quickly as we could.

"When are we getting out of here?" K asked as he pulled Rae against him, copping a feel.

"We can't. Nya met someone, and we have to see him fight." She kissed his nose and snuggled against him.

"What? No. No. We can go if you want to K." I shake my head.

"No way. We are staying! Who's the guy?"

"The champ." Rae answered before I could.

"Curtis?! The guy never speaks! Did you talk to him or did he speak to you?" His golden eyes widened in shock. I always admired his eyes and I knew Rae was praying to every entity out there that their kids inherited them as well.

"He spoke to her, and when I saw them, they were all pressed on each other like we are."

K whistles, he seems impressed.

"Aye! Enough! Let's go home!" I whined as they smiled at me like idiots.

"Absolutely not! Besides, we have to celebrate my win." K winked at us while he groped Rae with not an ounce of shame.

"One more round, guys?" K smiled as I shook my head no, and Rae nodded enthusiastically.

"Come on Nya! A shot for my win tonight." He made puppy dog eyes at me.

"Those eyes don't work on me sir. But if you're buying, sure." I smiled.

K walked off to get our shots and I froze when I saw Curtis walk to the ring, our eyes meeting again and I felt myself  light up. Totally against my character, I waved to him and bit my lip to hide my grin. His face remained stoic, the tiniest smirk on his lips told me that he saw me.

I felt Rae elbow me as she watched the interaction between us, but I was stuck on watching him.

I was so caught up in staring at his face I didn't realize he didn't have a shirt on. I gripped the beer bottle and took a deep swig because my insides went to Inferno. He had muscles on muscles. And his torso was littered with tattoos. The lord was truly testing me with this man. I knew seeing him shirtless would help me on those nights I was stuck in the masterbation station.

We finally broke eye contact when he took his corner and waited for his opponent. My daze was broken when K held up a shot glass and I was so stuck on staring that I didn't even salute with them, downing the shot immediately. The heat coursing through my body as the alcohol worked its way down had nothing on Curtis.

His opponent came out and I couldn't even tell you what that man looked like cause I was frozen, sprung, stuck on stupid if you will.

The men shook hands and I instinctively grabbed Rae. Curtis' opponent was putting up a valiant effort, but Curtis was able to dodge his hits. I froze when he turned to look at me, and in that split second he got hit in the jaw. I winced loudly and Rae wrapped her arm around me.

"He's fine girl."

My knees buckled as he wiped the blood from his chin and smiled.

"This motherfucker is smiling!" I yelled out in shock.

Although I was in shock, I couldn't help the aching between my legs at how sexy he looked wiping his blood. This was not supposed to turn me on the way it did. I mentally checklisted a call to my therapist.

Curtis took his eyes off me and swung, the crack of his knuckles against the man's chin reverberated through the bar, even through the cheers and background noise. The man landed on his back and the referee stopped the fight.

The crowd quieted and then exploded into a loud symphony of cheers, boos and yelling. I couldn't help myself, letting go of Rae and cheering and screaming that he won and he didn't seem hurt.

Our eyes made contact again and suddenly I panicked. Before I could even realize what I was doing, I was outside the bar and jumping into a cab. I was about ten minutes into the ride before Rae started calling me and I turned my phone off for the night.

I got home, and went into my purse to pull out his card and text him sorry for running out, but I couldn't find it.

"No! No! Shit!" I screamed as I dumped the contents of my purse on the floor, scrambling through my many CVS receipts that were longer than a football field, makeup and spare change.

I spent the next three days berating myself and I finally turned my phone on to let Rae berate me too. Thankfully she didn't stop by my apartment. She and K had a small vacation that week, so I was safe until she came back. I'm sure she would tell me about all the "fucking he did to her" upon their return.

Monday morning, I was at my desk, avoiding my boss and his skeptical stare since I gave myself a three day weekend. My fingers hover over the keyboard, looking at the sea of red squiggly lines as I couldn't focus on responding to emails. All I could think about was him.

What the hell would I possibly say? Hi, I'm the girl you pretended to be your girlfriend, wanna go out? Ugh, no, just no.

"Explosive diarrhea, huh?" A voice makes me jump as my eyes dart over to the person standing at my door with an arrogant smile.

"Paulina! Shut up." I harshly whisper as I beckon her into my office.

"That "sickness "must still be in your system." She made air quotes as she sat down. "Your emails are horrendous. Should I tell the boss man you need more time off?" She raised her eyebrow with a smirk.

"Oh my God. Shut up, so I went with Rae to see her boyfriend's fight. I didn't want to drag myself in on Friday. No big deal."

"Uh huh. I will have you know Rae texted me that you met a fine ass man by the name of Curtis who won his fight and you hightailed it out of the bar before he could even make it out of the ring."

"Fucking snitch." I muttered under my breath.

"Exactly." She smiled smugly. "So, when are you calling him?"

"Ummm. I can't find his card." I banged my head on my desk.

"Why you! I should pop you! Rae told me he is fine ! And you lose his card?!" Paulina hissed as she scolded me.

"I know ok!? I fucked up." I hadn't lifted my head cause I was being my overly dramatic self.

"Why didn't you give him your number!?"

I raised my head to answer her.

"I was too preoccupied being deathly horny and when he kissed me and held me ... Whew Jesus." I fanned myself with a manilla folder on my desk.

"He kissed you!? You know my stance on men overstepping boundaries."

"No. It wasn't a kiss on the lips, it was my cheek."

I then proceeded to tell her the whole story while she listened with rapt attention.

"Oh we are going to rectify this shit asap!" She banged her fist on my desk as she stood. "I'll figure out a plan."

"I get you're mad macgyver, but it's ok. You can't fix everything. Maybe I'll run into him at the grocery store or some shit like that." I shrugged.

"Don't worry. I got something for both yall asses."

I watched as she stomped out of my office and I put my head back on the desk. Now I had two matchmakers on my ass and one fine ass man stuck in my brain. I kept thinking back on why I ran. All I could deduce was that no one made me feel like he did and I wasn't ready. But I did owe him an apology and congratulations. I ignored my work emails and tried to figure out a way to do it myself before my very good friends embarrassed me all to pieces. I was going to find him my way and for good measure I muted their messages and calls. I only went to work and home, while I scoured my closet for the perfect outfit. It took me a while and looking through piles of clothes it emerged and I screeched in victory. Maybe I'd find Curtis, and I could still step out and look damn good too.

Two weeks later

I sat at the same bar, only this time I had on my large floppy hat to cover my face. I didn't wanna look like a stalker or a groupie for a man I didn't know. After all, I had morals, my hat proved it for me.  I was pulling my dress down my thighs with one hand as I swirled the cherry in my vodka and pineapple with the other. I looked so out of place in this dive bar, getting me some puzzled "are you lost" looks, but I didn't care about that.

There weren't any fights scheduled tonight and I was kinda bummed. I politely leaned over as the bartender came to ask me if I wanted a refill. He was an older man with glasses, a beard and a kind smile.

"E-excuse me. When are you having another fight night here?"

"Oh. We do that once in a while darling. No set schedule honestly." He smiled at me as he refilled my drink.

"Oh." I bit my lip and nodded. "Well, thank you."

"Fan of the sport? Or one of the fighters?" He raised his eyebrows suggestively.

I felt my face heat up. "Kind of both actually."

I slid him his payment and a nice tip and he winked at me while he went to help other patrons. I sighed and swirled the two cherries in my glass now.

I was resigning myself to the fact that I may never see Curtis again and I would just have to suck it up cause it was my loss and my fuck up. I sighed as I pulled my dress down again, annoyed that I was letting strangers see my goods when I was on a mission anyway.

I was finishing my drink when someone sat beside me. I rolled my eyes because it wasn't crowded and there were ample seats besides the one next to me. I know my hat hid my disdain and I figured it would be time to call it a night and maybe make a stop at the masterbation station.

"Can I buy you a drink?" The man spoke next to me and my body literally shut down. I raised my hat and saw him sitting there.

"No." I smiled and put my hat back down. "Actually, I should buy you one."

"You should. I've been waiting on a call for two weeks." He laughed beside me as the bartender handed him a beer.

I took my hat off, placing it in my lap and smoothing my hair out. All the hair god's watched over me as my bundles were in  their correct place. I turned and faced him in the stool.

"I'm sorry. I lost your card, being a chickenshit." I grinned sheepishly and placed my hand on the bar.

"You're forgiven Ms Nya." His finger brushed against my hand and I fought to keep my moan in my throat. Thankfully it stayed.

"How did you know I was here?"

"Gilliam here told me." He smiled at the bartender who was refilling our drinks.

I turned and looked at him. "I had to call the boy. He's been devastated since he last saw you. On the house darling." He set our glasses down and walked away.

We both looked at each other, our faces red at the whole interaction.

We sat and talked for a while. I learned Curtis worked for the train system, and he fought here and there to kill the boredom of his 9-5. I told him about my job, the monotony of being an executive assistant and ensuring that my boss had everything from important documents to clean drawers. We talked about our friends, Edgar and Grey and I talked about Paulina and Rae and we laughed at how their names rhymed.

He asked questions, I asked questions and the vibe between us was very chill although both of us kept throwing little bits and big bits  of flirting throughout our conversation.

"Wanna get out of here?" He asked lowly.

"Well. Now I see where this is going. You just wanted to fuck me huh?" I stood from the stool, fixing my hat back on my head.

"W-what? No, Nya. I didn't…" He stood in front of me.

"I see what this is. I thought you were different." I put my hand on my hips.

"I'm sorry. I fucked up ok. Please don't leave." He still blocked me from leaving.

"This hat should tell you I have morals. I don't just let a man take me somewhere and we haven't even had a date yet."

I saw him getting ready to launch a barrage of apologies, and I grabbed him by his gray henley and pulled him down, pressing my lips against his. He let out a shocked grunt, but proceeded to kiss me back.

"Your place or mine?" I whispered against his lips.

"Who's closer?" He squeezed my ass for good measure.

We laughed as he slammed some bills down on the bar and he grabbed my hand and pulled me out into the street. Curtis hailed a cab and we were off. Seemed his place was closer which was fine with me cause I don't just take anyone home with me. I have 🌟 morals🌟.

"That was a mean trick you played there honey." His gravelly voice bounced off the walls of the taxi.

"Serves you right." I giggled.

Curtis leaned closer and the cabbie yelled at us.

"Aht! No funny shit in my cab! I just had it cleaned."

"Yeah. Sure you did." I said as I rolled my eyes and Curtis smiled.

The cab pulled up to a nice building and Curtis jumped out of the car after flinging money at the man. He rushed around and opened the door for me, and we quickly walked inside. I was getting more and more nervous as we got closer to his apartment, but my anxiety waned as I watched his broad back in front of me on the steps. My eyes drifted lower as I checked out his ass and bit my lip to stifle any moans. I was getting way too excited judging from how wet I was getting; my poor thong must be ruined. I tried to focus on something else. My heels echoing on the floor along with my heartbeat baging in my chest was a good distraction.

'Nya. You're objectifying him.' I chastised myself.

Once I peeled my eyes from his body, I was amazed at how small my hand looked in his and how rough they felt. I couldn't fight the shudder that coursed its way through my body. His chuckle above me told me that he heard me.

'Oh. I am so going to fuck this man.' My inner hoe screeched in my head.

We made it up the steps and Curtis removed his hand from mine to fish out his keys and open the door for me, revealing a very nice apartment. I took my heels off by the door and set my hat on a hook on the wall.

"Want anything? Drink? Something to eat?" He asked politely as he shut and locked the door behind him.

'Yes. I want that dick.' I thought as I looked at him with a neutral expression.

"No, thanks. Nice place." I smiled as I stood there.

"Great. So we can get to the good part."

Curtis stepped towards me and kissed me hard. His beard burned me so good, and my body was going haywire. My hands went around his neck while he was pushing my dress up my hips. I squealed into his mouth as his hands grasped my hips, and he picked me up. He walked quickly to his bedroom, and we landed on the bed, our lips finally breaking apart.

"Birth control?" He asked sweetly as he pulled a condom from his back pocket.

"Damn right." I nodded. Seemed I wasn't the only one eager for tonight as I thought about the pack of condoms in my purse.

Normally, I'm the assertive one in the bedroom, but this man and his big dick energy could lead me all night long. I watched in awe as he pulled his shirt over his head, giving me an up close view of the spectacle he called his body.

My insecurities be damned as I pulled my dress up over my body and flinging it somewhere in his bedroom. The groan above me told me that I did a good job putting on my red lace bra with the matching thong.

Large, rough hands groped me, and I pulled him down on top of me. I reached down, praying he was packing something substantial cause if he wasn't, I would pack me and my pussy up and go home.

'Oh thank God.'

He was so big and so thick I couldn't even wrap my hand around him. I gushed between my legs at the thought of the damage he was going to do to me and my cervix.

Curtis hissed in my mouth, and I took the opportunity to bite down on his plush bottom lip. He then took the opportunity to stick two fingers into me, making me cry out into his mouth.

"Curtis…" I whined as he fucked me with his fingers.

"Yes, baby?" He licked into my mouth lewdly.

"Fuck me. Fuck foreplay. I really can't wait."

"You sure? I wanna take my time with you."  He took his fingers out of me, swirling his tongue around them in the most vulgar nastiest of ways.

"You can do that later!" I whined as I pulled myself up, and got on all fours, wiggling my ass for him. I trembled in his hold as I felt his hands grab the meat of my hips.

"Last chance."

"Boy, if you don't break my back like a glow stick!" I gritted out.

"Anything you want, baby." I felt him move my thong to the side and slam right into me. All the air left my lungs as my back was breaking from how hard he fucked me. Curtis' blunt nails dug into my skin as we caught a rhythm, me pushing back as he fucked into me.

I flinched as I felt his beard nipping at the skin of my shoulder, gentle kisses while he was rutting into me like he lost his damn mind. The contrast was driving me crazy and I was about to cum.

"Do-don't stop. Please." I gasped as my nails dug into his sheets.

"Yeah, baby drench this dick." He spoke against my shoulder and bit me as I came, the pain and pleasure swirling into one glorious, cohesive feeling that I had never experienced before.

I could just melt onto this man's bed right now. My back sufficiently broken and he was still fucking me. Curtis fucked two more orgasms out if me before he came into the condom, groaning loudly above me.

He finally got off of me, my arms shaking from holding myself up so long. I fell onto my stomach as Curtis laid beside me, both of us trying to catch our breath.

I wanted to avoid the awkward goodbye, so I slowly forced my body to work again so I could slide out. As soon as I sat up, Curtis looked at me.

"Where are you going?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Just gonna get out your hair. Didn't wanna make it awkward." I fixed my tits back into my bra and watched him as he watched me do it.

"You better bring your ass back here. Two weeks without you was long enough."
