Work Text:

“This place is beautiful,” Clint whispered, sliding over to Hermione. He looked around the Great Hall in awe. “I’ll never tire of seeing magic at work.”

“I know, beautiful, isn’t it?” Hermione sighed happily. His happy expression caused butterflies to swirl in her stomach. She loved when he got excited about magic. She loved that it meant that he was accepting of her.

It was a beautiful day at Hogwarts - the weather had been perfect for Harry and Natasha’s wedding. While she hadn’t expected to attend a wedding at her childhood school, Harry had insisted he couldn’t imagine his wedding taking place anywhere else. Hogwarts had always been his home. Plus, it was doable since it was July, and all of the students were home for their summer break.

The ceremony had taken place outside by the Lake, and now they were indoors for the reception. The Great Hall looked absolutely magical.

It had been hard to stay away from Clint for most of the wedding, but they were keeping their relationship quiet for the time being. Of course, him dressed in a suit had her ready to jump his bones.

"Come on, why don't we sneak out of here?"

Clint raised a brow at her. "What?"

"I want to show you one of my favourite places that I used to spend my time at while I was here," she said, smiling at him.

"Let me guess, the library?" Clint asked with a laugh.

"Yes, now, shush," she teased, gesturing for him to follow. The two slipped from the Great Hall, and she guided them to the Library. She was careful that no one saw them - it wasn’t that they were hiding their relationship, per se; it was more that they just weren’t ready to share with others. Besides, they were co-workers, and Hermione wasn't exactly sure of the rules that were in place for workplace romances.

Plus, Clint’s divorce had only been finalised for a few months, and truthfully, neither of them wanted to deal with the judgemental comments they were sure people would have - even though she had nothing to do with the two of them separating.

“Wow, this is a nice library,” Clint said as she gestured for him to go inside.

“Yeah, it is,” she said, looking around and feeling nostalgic. “But truthfully, I liked to sneak into the Forbidden Section.”

“Oooo, naughty,” Clint said with a mischievous grin on his face. “And what did you do in the Forbidden Section?”

“Mostly reading,” she teased. “Nothing too bad, don’t worry. But on occasion, I have been known to get into some trouble.”

“But you’re such a rule follower,” he teased. But he knew just as well that she could get up to serious trouble when properly motivated. It’s what made missions together so interesting.

“When I want to be,” she replied, moving towards him. She pushed him against the nearest stack of books, looking up at him with a naughty expression on her face.

“Did you kiss all your boyfriends in the library?” Clint asked, his voice low and husky as he peered down at her.

She looked up at him with a naughty expression. “Who said anything about kissing?” she teased as she undid his belt buckle. Undoing his trousers, he was about to pull them down, but he stopped her.

“I did.” His eyes flashed with want. “I want a kiss, Hermione,” he said before leaning his head down, closing the distance between them. He hungrily kissed her, pouring all his want and need into it.

Hermione responded just as passionately. Pressing up against Clint, she moaned in delight.

“Hermione, I’ve been, OH!”

Hermione let out a surprised squeak as she stepped away from Clint. Turning, she saw Ron staring at her in disbelief. He opened his mouth to say something, but she cut him off, shouting, “Silencio!” Clint, meanwhile, struggled to redo his belt.

Ron looked at her with an exasperated expression - as if he was saying Did you really just cast a spell on me?

“Sorry!” She squeaked. “Just- Sorry, are you going to let me explain?”

When Ron nodded, she undid the spell. Her hands were shaking with nerves.

“What in Merlin’s name, Hermione?” he asked, looking at her in disbelief.

“We’re not ready to share that we’re together,” she quickly explained. “I panicked that you caught us.”

“Jeez, I’m not going to expose you two… What kind of friend do you think I am?” Ron shook his head in disbelief.

“We’ve just been very cautious,” Clint added, wrapping his arm around Hermione’s waist. “We didn’t want to cause drama, especially since we’re here for Natasha and Harry. It’s their special day, and we didn’t want anyone to cause a scene.”

“Did you…” Ron looked between them.

“Clint was divorced before we started seeing each other,” Hermione said, frowning. “But we know people will say something; hence us wanting to keep it quiet.”

“Okay, okay,” Ron said, grinning. “My lips are sealed - you guys can trust me to keep your relationship a secret.”

“We appreciate that, mate,” Clint said, reaching forward and shaking Ron’s hand. “Plus, we want to tell Fury first before we make it public knowledge.”

“Just in case that means we can’t work together on missions anymore,” Hermione added.

“Trust me, I get you,” Ron said. “But, I did come to find you because Harry wants to take a few more pictures of the wedding party down by the Lake.”

“Okay,” Hermione said. She gave him a quick kiss before stepping back. Smoothing out her dress, she also made sure that Clint looked presentable.

The three of them made their way back to the Great Hall. On their way, though, Ron stopped and gave Hermione a look.

“What?” she asked, wary of his expression.

“Good thing I found you guys before you got his cock out,” he said with a joke.

Hermione nearly tripped at his words, and Clint let out a barking laugh. Pressing her lips together, she didn’t answer because… Well, he wasn’t wrong.
