Watch me as I touch the sky

Summary:

As soon as their eyes met, Ayane was doomed.

...
..
..
.
When he was born, Ayane's mother named him with specific Kanji that spelled 'sorrowful sound' to symbolize his place in the clan. That name haunts him for the rest of his life. If Gojo Satoru was the Honored one with his crystal blue eyes, Gojo Ayane was the Cursed one with no Cursed energy to speak of. He's the only one who sees it as a good thing.

"I don't think you and I see having no cursed energy in the same light." Ayane smiles and leans against the window. "You see it as a hindrance but me..."

The sky above is an endless blue and he feels like the weightless wind.

"I see it as freedom."

Chapter Text

Ayane is born with a name that means 'Sorrowful sound'. To symbolize his mothers' acceptance of his fate once they all realized that her child had no cursed energy.

He's five when he finally learns why the whole clan shuns him but also can't seem to pinpoint where he is. Once he realizes that the stingy clan elders walk right past him, and the servants can't seem to find him no matter how hard they look he takes advantage of it. Because Ayane may be cursed, but he's free.

When his brother Gojo Satoru is born 6 years later with crystal blue eyes that shine, Ayane gets pushed deeper into the darkness. Before he had been dismissed, but the fact that he was the son of the clan head never was forgotten. Someone always was looking for him. Now that the Six Eyes has finally been born into their clan after hundreds of years Ayane is meaningless. Forgotten. No one can feel him, so eventually they even forget that he's there at all. Even with his white hair and blue eyes he's treated like a shadow.

It hurts for a bit, but Ayane is a free soul. When he realizes that all the clans expectations shift onto his younger brother, he knows it means he can finally do what he wants.

He can run around, laugh and stop going to the stupid lessons that were shoved down his throat. Because Ayane means nothing. They stop home schooling him and he finally gets to experience what it's like to go to a public school. He makes friends outside of the crappy clan that haunts his dreams.

Ayane is the only one happy about it.

In a world of Jujutsu where Alpha's were considered the strongest and Omegas were considered helpless Ayane is an Alpha. Perhaps a bit better in his clans eyes, because that means he can be good breeding stock at least. The fact that he doesn't have Cursed Energy is not unheard of, and he relishes in the fact that he can run faster and punch harder than even those with Cursed Energy.

He's 14 when he sneaks unto the Zenin compound.

Cloathed in a dark Yukata he easily pushes himself over the wall and lands on the grounds softly.

Ears honed to hear every movement around him Ayane takes a moment to ensure he's not noticed before heading out. The darkness acts as a blanket to keep him hidden from sight, and even though his lack of Cursed energy makes him invisible to nearly everyone he meets he stays cautious. His white hair is a beacon like the moon in the darkness so he stays low.

His motivation is too sneak a peak at the man named Zenin Toji, who is rumored to have no Cursed energy just like Ayane. Desperately he wants to know the man, but he will settle for a glimpse.

Years of training with the best tutors makes it easy for him to climb onto the roof of one of the buildings and look around. It's about just as large as the Gojo compound but perhaps a bit more gloomy if you were to ask him. There weren't any albino peacocks flouncing about.

He sits for a moment to appreciate the view. From up here he can see the large expanse of the night sky, with the thousands of stars above him. It reminds him of the infinity the Gojo clan talks about.

"Oi brat."

Ayane has always been the one who snuck up on others, so when it happens to him he just nearly saves himself from taking a head dive off the roof. He turns and looks up, up, up-

oh.

The stories of Zenin Toji don't explain how heavy his presence is. It's always talk about what he lacks. Ayane is nearly breathless because of the oppressive aura of the Alpha, but forces himself to meet the others gaze even as his knees shake. Sometimes the clan elders are intimidating, but this man is scary in another way. Just looking at him tells you that the man has been fighting since the day he was born.

Toji doesn't say anything, he just stares. The Gojo clan gloat about the beauty of their blue eyes, but Ayane would say Zenin green is the better of the two. There's a wild energy in the green eyes that stare at him, that seems far more untouchable than even the Six Eyes.

There's something in the air that Ayane cannot name. It's similar to Pheromones but at the same time different. He feels pulled and repulsed by Toji at the same time and it confuses him. No book has explained what this is. They only talk about Alpha/Omega pairings because that's what society expects out of people.

Ayane doesn't know what it is but his hair is standing on end and he knows he needs to leave or he's going to be eaten.

After a moment Ayane is able to make his body move, and darts away.

Toji doesn't follow.
