Summary:

Luffy and Sabo are biological brothers, this changes more than you think.

Chapter 1: Luffy's a sunshine child and he makes it everyone's problem.

Sabo wasn’t happy.

He was gonna have a little brother, he didn’t want to have an annoying kid brother…

But he was gonna get one anyway.

 

Unfortunately for Sabo, life had different plans for his new little brother.

Sabo immediately took his words back upon seeing his brother.

A baby full of Sunshine.

 

-Years later-

 

Dragon was not pleased, in fact, he was pissed at his father, Garp.

Garp had taken Luffy without either his or Athena’s approval or knowledge.

 

“He’s 7.”

“I took Sabo when he was 7!”

“Which we still didn’t approve, mind you! And unlike Sabo, Luffy doesn’t even know how to fight!”

“Then he’ll learn! It’s a good thing!”

“No, what's a good thing is that Sabo wanted to stay on Dawn because he made a friend and didn’t want to leave him.”

“And everything will go well with Luffy too!”

“Again with the fact that you probably dropped him at the bar, I’d say someone may take him!”

“He won’t!”

“What says no one will take him?”

 

Garp froze and finally sighed defeatedly.

 

“The only reason Sabo knows how to fight is because he asked Athena to teach him, Luffy has absolutely NO CLUE how to fight!”

 

Meanwhile

 

Luffy was dropped off at a bar with the Barmaid.

Pirates were on the island and went to the bar, this got Luffy really excited 

 

The captain wanted to know who’s sunshine kid this was so he could politely ask to adopt him. The kid never told him so he couldn’t unfortunately.

 

His own kid definitely liked this kid, he saw how happy she was and she wasn’t alone at last until they set sail again that is.

 

But never had he ever seen a kid make friends with another so easily and quickly.

Clearly neither did his first mate or Yasopp.

Speaking of Yasopp, he took his kid with him, didn't he?

 

Yeah, he’s also friends with Luffy now, the three kids were very happy playing together.

 

It was a shame that they had to go soon indeed…

 

-Time skip to after the red hairs left-

 

Garp had dumped Luffy with the mountain bandits.

Luffy wasn’t ever going to stay put, he followed Ace to find the treehouse.

 

“Stop following me!”

“No.

“No?”

“No.

“Why not? Just leave!”

“Because I don’t want to stop.”

“Ace? What’s happening down there?”

 

Sabo got out of the tree house

 

“Sabo…?”

 

Luffy froze knowing immediately once seeing the blonde.

Ace was cut off by the blonde immediately hugging the younger one.

 

“SUNFLOWER!”

“H-Hey Sabo.”

 

Ace looked at the two confused

 

“Okay- Explain how you know him?”

 

Sabo stopped hugging Luffy.

 

“He’s my younger brother”

“Wait, you mean this is the sunshine younger brother you blabbered on and on about?”

“Yes!”

 

Luffy already knew Sabo probably talked on and on about him.

 

“I don’t see it.”

“Oh, you will soon, once he decides he wants you as his friend nothing stops him.”

“Shishishi!”

 

Luffy just giggled and smiled at Ace.

 

“Holy shit…”

“Now you see it don’t you?”

 

Ace nodded

 

“This is something we call the Luffy effect.”

“Also I met Shanks and his crew”

“I’m sorry- YOU WHAT ?!”

 

Luffy just laughed off the reactions of his brother and Ace.

Chapter 2: Luffy explains and Sabo does NOT take it well

“Yep! I also met his daughter, Uta!”

“ WHAT ?!”

“They didn’t try to steal you right? RIGHT?”

“Saboooo I’m fine! They tried to adopt me is all.”

“NO THAT’S THEM STEALING YOU!”

“Shishishi!”

“Don’t just laugh!”

 

Luffy still laughed at this

 

“Come on let’s go”

 

Sabo dragged Luffy’s arm as Ace followed.

 

‘He’s gonna be so pissed lol.’

 

Luffy tugged his arm and it snapped back.

Sabo look back in shock.

 

“Uh… Surprise…?”

“Luffy. Get over here and explain why you have a devil fruit.”

 

Ace was surprised to hear Sabo sound so cold.

Luffy walked over to Sabo.

“So I accidentally ate it while Shanks was talking…”

“When I see him I’m killing him.”
“It wasn’t his fault! I didn’t realize it was a devil fruit!”

“So you’re made of rubber?”
“Yep!”
“I’m still killing him.”
“Fineeee.”

 

Luffy pouted at Sabo.

Sabo pats him and goes up the treehouse

 

“Overprotective much?”
“You have no idea, Ace…”

“And I hope I never do.”

Chapter 3: 7 years past 3 more to go.

Luffy waved as Sabo and Ace sailed away, he stopped once he didn’t see the two anymore.

He had to wait three more years, unfortunately.

 

Luffy sighed and walked away from the dock, he went to the tree house and saw a DDM in the corner.

 

Luffy looked at the tiny paper it had.

 

‘I know your brothers left and your father probably didn’t give you one but- I know you’ll be lonely so on our last visit Uta hid a ddm for you :)’

 

-Shanks, the better father

 

Luffy laughed at the idea of Shanks being his dad.

His mom never complained about it though.

 

He called a number, he didn’t know who it was but he called it.

 

“Hello?”

“Hi!”

“Do I know you?”

“Probably not, I just put in random numbers!”

“O-Oh.”

“My brothers just left so I’m alone. In a tree house. Bored.”

“Who are you?”

“Monkey D. Luffy!”

“…”

“I’m… Sanji.”

“It’s nice to meet you Sanji! You sound nice!”

“Thanks?”

 

Luffy laughed

 

-

 

“Hey Sanji? What’s your dream?”

“My dream? That’s a bit random to ask but… To find the All Blue.”

“The All blue?”

“You’ve never heard of it?”

“Nope. Never went to school and none of my dumb brothers let me look at their books. Off-limits stuff you know.”

“Oh, boy do I… But the all blue is this amazing sea with fish from all four blues and the grand line!”

 

Luffy had starry eyes that reflected on the DDM on Sanji’s side

 

“That sounds amazing!”

“It is! What’s your dream?”

“I want to be the king of the pirates!”

“A pirate huh?”

“Yep! Because then I can be free on the sea! The freest!”

“Free… It… It sounds nice…”

“If I ever meet you would you want to come with me?”

“Come with you? Like to the other seas?”

“Yes! It’ll be fun ! No one to tell us what to do! No one can control us!”

 

Sanji went quiet. Free from even them ? Could he even truly be free from them ? 

 

“I’ll have to think about it, Luffy.”

“Okay! It doesn’t have to be now! I have three more years before I go out to sea!”

“You sound happy even though these brothers you’ve mentioned are gone.”

“Yosh! Because I knew they would, I would never stop them from that!”

“You sound happy… Is- Is freedom nice?”

“Yes! It is! Why? Are you trapped?”

“No! I mean no. I’m not It’s just interesting to hear you talk”

“I like hearing you talk too! Your voice sounds nice!”

 

Sanji slightly turned red at the compliment 

 

“I- Thanks. You probably have something to do-“

“I don’t. Like I said, I was bored!”

 

Sanji laughed a bit

 

“Well unlike you I do.”

“Okay! Have fun whatever you’re going to do Sanjiii!”

 

The ddm hung up from Sanji’s end.

 

“Yeah…”

 

Sanji wanted to meet this Luffy now. He could be patient. And so he will.
