Notes:

Hey all!

This is my first fic that I’ve ever posted. So be real (but kind) to me.

This was just a little idea I had swimming around in my head. I might do a more flushed out story. But I wanted to at least post this!
Hope you enjoy!

Chapter Text

Charlie can hear the sounds of a familiar motorcycle pulling up to her aunt and uncles house, and then a knock at the door.
Charlie got up from the couch and opened the door to see her baby cousins girlfriend pacing back and forth on the porch.

“Cynthia, hey! Um, Lydia isn’t back from work yet -“ she stated before being cut off.
“No no. I know. I was looking for you actually”

“Me? Why? Is everything okay? Is something wrong?!” She opened the door further to let Cynthia in, who once again started pacing in the living room.
Charlie doesn’t really know the younger Butch that well, but she was dating her cousin. And Lydia seemed happy, so that was all that matters. “Is Lydia okay?”

“Yeah. Everything’s fine! Why wouldn’t it be?” Cynthia attempted to deflect while still pacing. How this girl got Juliet over her cousin, she’d never know. But something was clearly on the Pink Lady’s mind.
So Charlie decided to see how this was going to play out. She leaned against the wall with her arms crossed, waiting for Cynthia to start talking. Which at the rate this was going, could take at least a decade.

“If you keep pacing like that, I’m pretty sure you’ll end up burning a hole through the carpet.”

The tiny greaser just stopped dead in her tracks with a look that seemed a thousand miles away “Huh? Right! Yeah- sorry”
Charlie could see her face getting red, and took a little bit of pity on her.
Okay- this kid was kind of adorable, she could see how Lydia would fall for her.
“Do you want to sit? A glass of water or something?” Charlie asked with a slight chuckle.

“That would be great! Thank you!” Cynthia said as she sat down on the couch as Charlie went to get some water for the two of them. It didn’t go untouched that Cynthia’s leg was bouncing up and down.
Charlie assumed that whatever it was Cynthia wanted to talk about was big. Because why was Cynthia coming to her of all people? Lydia has told her about Cynthia’s gangs and how she was also FINALLY accepted by the other thespians. So there was no lack of support there.

Charlie came back from the kitchen and handed Cynthia one of the glasses of water and sat in a chair across from her.
“Okay kid, what’s going on?”

Cynthia chugged half the glass, closed their eyes and took a deep breath.
“Ugh its stupid”
“Hey- none of that. Clearly something is eating at you and you felt that I was the best person to talk to. So, talk to me. We’re safe here. Especially with my aunt and uncle being gone for a few more weeks”

Both girls were thankful for that in this moment. It meant that neither of them had to hide anything about themselves.

“Right” Cynthia leaned her head back against the couch and gripped the cousins beneath her.
Staring up at the ceiling she found some form of confidence.
“So,how do you do it?”

“Hun?” Charlie’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion

“Like,” Cynthia sat straight up “I know how it’s supposed to work between guys and girls. But how do two girls do it?”

The college girl just sat there in stunned silence blinking. Still trying to process what was being asked “I’m sorry, but…what?”

“How do I go all the way with a girl?!” Cynthia basically shouted. “Cmon! You gotta have experience with this! Help a fellow queer out!”
Charlie couldn’t help herself, she was laughing so hard at what the girl in front of her was asking.
“Will ya stop laughing at me, please”

“I’m sorry I’m sorry! It’s just that I’ve never been asked this before,” then it suddenly dawned on Charlie what she was being asked “wait, are you asking me how to go all the way with MY COUSIN?!”

Cynthia saw the shift on Charlie’s from being amused by this to what could only be described as “big sister protective mode”. Cynthia could have sworn her whole young life just flashed before her eyes.
“…yes…?”

The college athlete jumped up from the chair and began pacing herself. This was a lot to process. On one hand, Charlie took pride in the fact that Cynthia felt safe enough to talk to her about this. On the other hand, she does not want to think about what goes on behind closed doors between the short butch and her cousin.

“Nope. Nu uh. No way. I am not talking about you having sex with my cousin! That’s just- NO! What on earth gave you the idea that this was okay?!”

Cynthia stood from the couch and rounded the table to stand in front of Charlie.

“Cmon! This isn’t easy for me either! The T-Birds are boys. So all they are gonna do is just hand me a condom and who knows what jokes they’ll make! And the other Pinks, well, that’s not going to go well AT ALL. Mainly cause they’re “normal”. Well, at least I think they are. Hazel definitely is. There might be a thing happening between Jane and Olivia? I don’t know. Nancy will probably cut out my tongue for even trying to talk about this with her.”

After the rambling, Cynthia looked down the floor and shoved her hands in her pockets, looking almost embarrassed.
“And I can’t talk to Lydia about this, cause I want her to actually think I know what I’m doing.” Cynthia said softly.
“I really care about your cousin, and I guess, we’ve gotten close a few times. But I always stop and change things up. I just don’t want to mess this up with her”

Charlie looked Cynthia up and down, analyzing her. The greasers chuck taylors softly kicking at the rug they were standing on. One hand shoved into the pockets of a pair of dark wash jeans, while the other was scratching the back of her neck. A white tshirt covered by her signature Pink Ladies jacket.
Charlie had to hand it to the kid. There was something almost honorable asking for advice on this, versus what most boys do and just think with their *other* head.

The college aged lesbian walked over and put her hands on Cynthia’s shoulder, hopefully to help ground the high schooler from this spiral they were clearly going through.
“Listen to me” and as if on command, Cynthia looked up at the older girl. And she couldn’t help but notice the similarities between her and Lydia. The same eyes, the confident attitude, the light auburn color of their hair. It was somewhat comforting if Cynthia was being honest with herself.

“These types of moments should be special, especially if they are your first. Lydia is not going to care if you’re good at it or not, it’s about the connection and love that comes with it. Let me ask you something. Do you love her? Do you love Lydia?”

“Yes. Yes I fucking love her!” Cynthia pulled away from the grip Charlie had on her shoulders. “She’s just so amazing and wonderful. Her acting abilities are out of this world! She deserves to be on every stage and every screen. And Jesus Christ! She’s a smoke show! And there are times I still can’t believe she chooses to be with me. And all I want to do is scream from the tallest building in the world how much I love her and how incredible she is. But I can’t. And it sucks. And I wish we lived in different world where none of us had to hide this. Because why is loving someone like this wrong?! It’s not! And I just want her to know how I feel! Which is why I want to do this right by her!”

Cynthia felt like she ran out of air after that declaration. And after the sound of blood rushing in her head faded, she could hear a slow clap coming from Charlie.

“Alright there Romeo.” The irony in that is not lost on either girl. “Then that’s all that matters. When you’re both ready to go all the way, be sure to remember those feelings and your bodies will figure it out from there. But, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to at least give you a few pointers. Cause God knows the sex education at Rydell is shit.”

This broke the tension of the conversation as both girls started laughing. Then Charlie excused themselves real quickly to get a notebook and a pencil.
She came back to the living room to see Cynthia finishing off the rest of her water.
“Okay so, to start off, It’s all about communication….”

Charlie couldn’t believe that she was teaching her cousins girlfriend about lesbian sex. But she’s also been where Cynthia is right now. And she wished she had someone to talk about this with when she slept with a girl for the first time.

By the time Lydia got home from assisting Mr.Vaughn with his theater camp for kids, the two were just chatting about the current baseball season. It was nice to see two of the most important people in her life get along.

“Well this is a pleasant surprise”
The two sitting girls looked up. Cynthia had the goofiest smile on her face and jumped right up to go greet her girlfriend with a kiss.
“ Hey beautiful. How was work?”

Lydia slipped a hand into Cynthia’s hair and pulled her back in for another kiss. Charlie’s was trying to look anywhere else.
“Good. Even better that I was able to come home to this. Do you want to hang out for a bit?”
Charlie noticed the shift in energy between the two soon to be high school seniors and was desperate to get out of the house.

“Alright. Well, that looks like my cue.” Charlie slides past the girls and goes to grab her own car keys “I’m gonna head out for an hour or two. Get some errands done, pick up some dinner. Cynthia, I’m assuming you’ll be staying for that?”

“Um, yeah. If that’s okay” the Pink Lady started to blush, and it almost matched her jacket.

“Wouldn’t have offered if it wasn’t. Okay you two. Have fun!” Charlie sing songed on her way out the door.

Lydia looked at the front door with a curious look. “What was that about?”
“No idea” Cynthia said with a new found confidence, leaned up to kiss Lydia again as she slowly walked them to the nearest wall.

When the need for air was too great for them, they pulled apart. Through heavy breaths and heavy glances, Lydia took Cynthia’s hand and led her upstairs to her room.

Charlie, now at the grocery store couldn’t help laughing at herself.
“I can’t believe that they both asked me for the sex talk”
