Chapter Text
"T-Today...might be a good a day...who am I kidding?!"
At the entrance of Hope's Peak a girl stood, trembling like a leaf and covered in cuts and bruises and bandaids under her clothes...but she stood, and as nerveous as she felt...she knew she had to step inside.
"Why am I even here?" She murmured, looking up to the massive building, to the street, up to the building again...and then down to the letter clutched between her two trembling hands.

Mikan still couldn't believe it, lucky?! She has never felt lucky really, she is clumsy and stupid and is often in pain, how is that lucky? She had tried to find out if one of her classmates had sent it as a joke, or the mean school secretary, or her teachers or even her mom...but it was real, she was an Ultimate now.
At first she didn't want to go, she knew her parents would get mad if she left, and her classmates would sure miss her right? Everyone would get so mad with her! They wouldn't be there to welcome her back when she messed up and the kicked her out if she left them all alone....
...But, the thought of leaving, of starting fresh somewhere also filled her with hope and made her able to whipe her tears...she...she wanted nicer classmates who didn't pull her hair and made her trip, she wanted a nice teacher who didn't stare at her skirt for far too long...she wanted a place to hide from her parents.
So, she was here, standing alone in front of Hope's Peak, with a small and dusty pink bag that matched her sweater, no one came to wish her luck but that was okay as they sure where busy. So Mikan whiped her tears again and took a deep breath "You can do this...y-you can do this! They surely won't hate me on my first day right?...."
They probably will
She shook her heas, either way, she simply clutched her hands over her chest, squished her eyes closed and with a small yelp she rushed in, crossing the gate with a jump as if stepping on the line on the pavement would cause her mortal perril. Huh, she looked back at the gate and smiled a little, maybe she could do this!...or at least try.
But keeping that small nerveous smile on her lips, she started walking again. "M-maybe things will go well after all— huh?"
It was all...dizzy?...it was moving and twisting and making her feel light headed all of the sudden, falling to her knees she clutched on her sweater and before she could muster a word.
Everything was black.

When Mikan woke again she inmedietly rubbed her eyes, feeling groggy and tired, but as she came to she realised where she was.
"I...fell sleep in a classroom?"
The thought couldnt help but scape her, this place was a classroom she was almost certain, even if there was a creepy camera in a corner and the windows where covered by massive plates of metal with gigant bolts...realising that made her jump out of her seat "W-where am I?!" She asked as if the empty space could answer.
This must be Hope's Peak right?...I remember passing out after crossing the gate
Mikan hummed while grabbing at the hem of her sweater, thinking that it might be better to start to look around...and that's when she noticed a drawing on the chalkboard...of a weird bear with something on its eye...it looked off puting and creepy, yeah leaving is for the best. "I-I don't wanna be here much longer"
She first did a check-up on herself, an old habit to see if she had any bruises she hadn't realised she had. Her outfit was all in order, a white button-up and the blue skirt she stole from her old school uniform, most covered by a loose pink sweater that seemed king of old a discolored. Her legs where full of bandages and small bandaids show as her stockings fell down to her ankles due to the elastic gaving out long ago, the one pair of nice boots she had and her white yarn hat where all there...her bag was missing though...which made her worry all over again. "Hope this isn't a prank..."
She checked her hands and all the bandaids where in place, and so was the hair tie keeping the side ponytail over her shoulder together...she can clearly feel it being a bit messier but it was fine, she should be able to fix it before someone laughed at her! But she needed a mirror first.
Maybe there's a bathroom close by
With that as a second motivator to get out of the room, she clutched her trembling hands together and went into the hallway.

Everything looked like a normal school, checkered tiles, high roofs she could barely see, and doors for more and more classrooms lined the hallway, the light what somewhat dim but nothing too off puting. As she walked she noticed some doors where colored with small marks to sign what was their porpuse....
Mikan thought it was odd though...that she woke up in a classroom really close to what seemed to be the nurse's office...why would someone leave her in a classroom if she had passed out on the entrance...when the nurse was so close? Before she could ponder much on it though, she saw something on the corner of her eye.
A girl was peeking around the corner, short messy hair and dull pink eyes with a pin on her bangs, it made Mikan tremble back with a small yelp "Eep! U-umm...hello?"
At that the girl simply hummed and left with no word.
Who was she?—maybe a classmate?
"H-hey! Wait up please!"
And so the girl rushed after this stranger, the thought of being alone for longer in this quiet building leaving her terrified.
