Work Text:

To say that Gyuvin was stressed was an understatement. Their wedding was around 6 months away and Ricky was hyperventilating into a brown paper bag in the middle of London’s Vivienne Westwood store.

Gyuvin felt so bad for his husband, but he felt even worse for the store worker that Ricky just made cry. After their engagement, Ricky had told Gyuvin he wanted to plan the wedding. Gyuvin didn’t object, in fact he knew he could never win against Ricky. All the blonde had to do was lean his chin onto his hand, showing off the ring and give him those big doe eyes for Gyuvin to concede.

Over the last few months, Ricky has become quite the bridezilla. He checked all the plans every week. He had Gyuvin look at thousands of flowers, checked hundreds of venues all over the word, Ricky had wanted everything to be perfect. Now everything was falling apart in Ricky’s eyes and Gyuvin could see it. The way his fiance’s eyes were starting to well up with tears. Ricky had specially contacted and asked for the store to provide them with special customized suits for the wedding. Ricky had started planning these suits since the day after their engagement. Ricky had hand picked the fabric, talked with the seamstress himself and made sure they would be completed months before the wedding .
Ricky and Gyuvin had just arrived in London the night before and all night Ricky was telling him how excited he was to see the finished product they spent months flying back and forth for.

“My love, everything is going to be ok.” Gyuvin says as he rubs Ricky’s shaking back. “Can we go back to the hotel now?” Gyuvin nods.

— — —

Ricky hasn’t moved in hours. Gyuvin was starting to get worried, he wasn’t eating or drinking and he wouldn’t answer Hao on call either. He just laid his head on Gyuvin’s chest and closed his eyes.

“My love, I know that this is very upsetting but everything will be ok. There’s no way they lost these suits! We’ll call everyday and check. I'm sure they just put them under the wrong name! I know you spent a lot of money on these suits and they mean the world to you and don't worry we will get them back.” Gyuvin stroked Ricky’s head. Ricky raised his head and Gyuvin felt his heart break in two at his fiance’s puffy eyes.

“Everything is ruined, Gyuvin. How are we going to have a wedding with no tuxes?” Ricky's eyes filled up with tears.

“We could get married in basketball shorts and a sweatshirt for all I care. I just want to marry you and then we can buy a house with a white picket fence.” Gyuvin holds Ricky’s face in his hands. Ricky lets out a shaky breath and nods.

“I love you so much Gyuvin, it's actually painful.” Ricky connects their lips. Gyuvin could tell Ricky’s neck was starting to get a bit sore. He flips them over and lays Ricky down, brushing away the hair from his forehead.

“I love you more.” Gyuvin whispers.

A few weeks later, Gyuvin was working his shift at Hanbin’s coffee shop when he got the call.

“Gyuvin! They found them! They're ok!! Holy fuck, holy shit.” Ricky was practically shouting into the phone. Gyuvin almost dropped the mug he was washing. “Thank god! I'm so happy Ricky! I know they're going to look fantastic!”

Gyuvin hears shuffling on the other side. “Ok love, I have another meeting, but I wanted you to know. I’ll see you tonight. I love you”

“Ok love, I’m making fried chicken tonight. I love you too, bye!” Gyuvin couldn’t stop the dopey smile growing on his face. Gyuvin washed and wiped his hands with a rag nearby.

“I'm guessing they found them?” Hanbin said while placing the pastry in the oven next to Gyuvin.

“They did! Making fried chicken to celebrate!” Gyuvin takes the pastry out of the oven and places it onto a plate before handing it to their waitress Chaehyun. “Ah yes, can’t wait for you to upgrade from sugar baby to wife! Next thing you know you're going to be moving to the states and eating burgers with your twins.” Hanbin chuckles at his own statement.

“Hanbin please fuck off, I would never live in the states for more than a month and Ricky doesn’t count as a sugar daddy because we dont fuck so i can get money, we fuck because were in love.”

Hanbin’s face contorts, “Whoa man too much info. I’d rather not hear more about your sex life than Hao already tells me. I don’t know why you work here when your boyfriend is practically a millionaire.”

Gyuvin whisks the batter. “Ok one, why the fuck do you know so much about our sex life.” Hanbin interrupts. “Same reason that you know so much, our husbands love to talk.”  Gyuvin couldn’t contain his smile at the statement. Our husbands, Ricky, my husband. He could get used to this.

“Anyways, I work here because it gives me something to do and if I didn’t work here then I would just be sitting at home. It gives me something to do.” Hanbin just nods at the other and goes back to his office.

— — —

It was the big day and for Gyuvin to say he was shitting himself was an understatement. He was currently sitting in his makeup chair trying to not throw up all over the stylist Ricky hired. He had Yujin, Gunwook, Gyuvin and Hanbin scattered across the room.

“Guys, i don’t know why but i’m so fucking scared i might throw up right now and I’m being so serious.” Hanbin rushed to his side, caressing his back.

“I know he loves me and I love him more than anything so why does my stomach feel like it’s stabbing itself.” Gyuvin felt his hands start to shake.

“Oh Gyuvin, it comes with the event. You will always be nervous, it’s like the biggest day of your life. You are marrying the love of your life. Hell, remember Hao and I’s wedding. I could barely walk down the aisle and almost collapsed when I laid eyes on him for the first time. You love Ricky, Ricky loves you, your going to read those vows, get married, get drunk at the reception and then fuck all night. It’s going to be great” The rest of the boys cheer in agreement with Hanbin. Gyuvin’s hands stopped shaking but his heartbeat was still racing.

Everything is going to be fine Gyuvin, you have been waiting for this day. Everything will be fine.  Gyuvin repeats like a mantra in his head.

— — —

Gyuvin was standing behind the door, the door to his new future. Next to him is his mother. Even though it wasn’t typical for grooms to have their family walk them down the aisle, Gyuvin wanted his mother by his side. Gyuvin looked down at his mother and she gave him a smile. She gently holds Gyuvin’s face and pulls it down to connect their foreheads.

“Everything is going to be fine, Gyuvin. Don’t look so scared, this is supposed to be the happiest day of your life.” She jokes.

“Mom, what if I trip and fall or I faint when I see Ricky. Or what if the whole building catches fire.” His voice waivers. Gyuvin places his hands onto hers and pulls them down from his face.

“No matter what happens, the only thing that matters is you love Ricky and Ricky loves you.” Gyuvin lets out a shaky breath as he nods in understanding.

“Just…. Make sure your shoelaces are tied.” She chuckles and pats his cheek. Gyuvin nods and checks. They're still double knotted just like he triple checked earlier, then had Hanbin double check, then had Gunwook and Junhyeon check and talk him out of buying velcro shoes. Gyuvin’s mother slips her hand into his elbow, anchoring his thoughts down.

The doors open and music fills Gyuvins ears. The walk down the aisle went on in a blur, all he could hear was the blood pumping in his ears when his mother lets him go and gives him a kiss on his cheek. He watches from the podium as Hanbin walks down the aisle strutting to a random Rupal song along with Gunwook, Junhyeon and Yujin. They each clap him on the back as they go to stand behind him. Gyuvin’s shoulders straighten as he watches Zhang Hao, Matthew, and Taerae stand in their positions.

Gyuvin’s eyes start to unfocus as the music starts. He gives wide eyes to Hanbin behind him.

“I think I'm going to faint, I'm being so serious. Please catch me.” Gyuvin mutters quickly as the doors open.  Gyuvin felt time stop as he laid eyes on Ricky. He was wearing an all white suit with black flower designs on the shoulders, contrasting Gyuvin’s own suit design. A long train littered with swarovski crystals falls behind him. Gyuvin’s eyes widened, he could feel them getting misty.

The first tear fell when Ricky’s eyes met his. “Holy fuck.” He mutters. Ricky was perfect, his hair perfectly styled, his makeup done perfectly and his smile was perfect. This was the widest Gyuvin has ever seen Ricky smile. God was it gorgeous. The pastor starts speaking, but Gyuvin isn’t listening, instead his eyes stay on Ricky. “Holy fuck” he mouths, making Ricky giggle.

— — —

“You may now read your vows.” The pastor says. Gyuvin pulls his paper from his jacket pocket. He figured he wouldn’t be able to memorize anything and boy was he right. The words on the page all look like squiggles. Ricky gives him a little thumbs up.

Gyuvin takes a deep breath.

“We decided for me to go first because Ricky figured that I would start crying and wouldn’t stop. He definitely knows me the best because I’ve just started reading this and the tears are already forming.

Shin Ricky, I fell in love with you when we were seven. I ran home after spending our first day together, practically screaming about how I was going to marry you. Now almost two decades later, I am keeping that promise and making a few new ones. I promise to always be your spiderman and  protect you from all the mud and bugs, like how you protected me from the ghosts. I promise to stay by your side through everything and I know that you will for me as well. I love everything about you Ricky but I’m sure you already knew that. And now I’m rambling.” Gyuvin stops and takes a breath, tearing his eyes from his paper to Ricky. Gyuvin started to cry more, his breath turning into hiccups as he watched Ricky cry as well.

“I love you Ricky. I want to play pirates with you and eventually we can play pirates with our own kids. Eventually we will grow old and our kids will have to take care of us and even then I will wake up everyday looking at my beautiful husband. I want to prank you even in our wheelchairs and knit clothing for our grandchildren. I know this is super long but this is only a tiny fraction of what I feel for you. Shin Ricky, soon to be Kim Ricky, yes I did win that argument… the only one i've ever won.  But I love you and I will forever.” Gyuvin knew his nose was red and the tears wouldn’t stop but he didn’t care. Ricky’s smile was beaming and his tears looked like crystals falling down his skin. Ricky’s gaze shifts down to his own paper.

“Gyuvin, you know that I am not the best with words, in fact I rewrote this probably a billion times. I think that when we are older and after we have our children have children of their own and live in a big house, our love story will be passed down like folk songs. I know that you will continue to trip on your shoelaces, burn your tongue on tea and cry at children’s cartoons, but I will always be there to pick you up and tie your shoe, give you cold water and wipe your tears. I know that you will be there to try on my latest design or carry my shopping bags without asking or making me lunch for work. We fell in love when we were seven and I keep falling everyday. Kim Gyuvin, I know this is short but I love you so much. I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together.” Ricky ends with a shaky breath, trying to conceal his own tears.

“You may now exchange rings.” The pastor smiles and holds out the pillow with Ricky’s hand crafted designer rings. Gyuvin could barely hold his ring still as he reached for Ricky’s hand. His hands are shaking too Gyuvin thought. Ricky places his ring onto Gyuvin’s and they clasp hands for a moment.

“Do you Shin Ricky take Kim Gyuvin as your lawfully wedded husband whom you will take care of through sickness and health?” Their eyes and smiles dont drop from each other.

“I do” Ricky says with excitement dripping through his voice while squeezing Gyuvin’s hands in his own.

“Do you Kim Gyuvin take Shin Ricky-”

“I do!” Gyuvin interrupts and the audience chuckles.

“You may now kiss-” Gyuvin didn’t wait. He pulled Ricky close, his hands finding the familiar slope of Ricky’s jaw. Their lips connect in a kiss so filled with love, Ricky couldn’t help accidentally breaking it with a smile. Gyuvin places his hand into Ricky’s. He raises them and cheers, making the rest of the crowd cheer. Gyuvin sprints down the aisle, pulling Ricky along.

“We're married!! We’re married!” Gyuvin chants, pushing the white door open, feeling the sun onto his skin. Gyuvin places his arms under Ricky’s knees and picks him up, tossing him a bit before walking down the steps. Pausing every few steps so the photographer Ricky hired can get some photos. The two treat it like paparazzi. When Gyuvin reaches the roofless white sports car with the words just married on the back of it, he drops Ricky inside before jumping in himself. The chauffeur starts the engine and the two wave enthusiastically to their friends and family as they speed off.

— — —

The party went off without a hitch. Hanbin made Gyuvin cry with his best man speech and he definitely ruined Ricky’s shoes by stepping on his feet so much while dancing. Matthew caught the bouquet Ricky threw and made eyebrows at Jiwoong from across the room. Hanbin got so drunk that him and Haruto kept battling all night until Zhang Hao whisked him away somewhere, probably to fuck in the hotel’s bathroom. Yujin and Gunwook are sat at the table probably making bets about the likelihood of Hanbin and Hao fucking.

Gyuvin has never felt so much love and joy as he did that night. His friends and family celebrated the two of them. He didn’t leave Ricky’s side the entire night. He spent any chance he could calling Ricky his husband. Even when they ended up in their shared apartment at the end of the night. Ties hanging around their necks and buttons undone, Gyuvin carries Ricky through the door.

“Welcome home my husband.” Gyuvin kisses Ricky’s cheek.

“Why thank you my husband.” Ricky fails to conceal his smile, his eyes dripping with love.

Gyuvin sets Ricky onto the counter. “Would my husband like some late night instant ramen as a post wedding snack?” Ricky pretends to think, letting his hand tap his chin. The blonde pulls Gyuvin by his belt loops.

“Well, my husband, maybe later because the only snack I want is you.” Gyuvin chuckles and lets the blonde pull him into a kiss. “I think that’s a great idea, husband.” Gyuvin picks Ricky up and speed walks to their shared bedroom.
