Chapter 1: That would make two

Chapter Text

Wednesday and Weems were sitting in Weems‘ car, waiting for Wednesday’s next court-ordered therapy session to start. The passenger side’s window was open so that both of them could get some fresh are while waiting.

„I somehow fail to understand how one could believe I need therapy.“ Wednesday said coldly while looking straight ahead.

„Miss Addams. I am not the one who ordered you to take therapy sessions, the court did. I personally believe that therapy won’t change anything for you, since I personally do not believe your mentally ill. But you had better not climb out of Dr. Kinbott‘s window again, do you understand? I will not have it.“ The tall woman said, gesticulating with her hand.

Wednesday didn’t say anything.

„Miss Addams. Do you understand?“ Weems repeated herself.

„Positive.“ Wednesday reluctantly answered. Then, after a few seconds of silence, Weems sighed.

„You see I just blatantly fail to understand the thinking process someone has to go through to come to the conclusion that climbing or jumping or whatever out of a window is a good idea! You could’ve died, Miss Addams! I-“

SMASH

The window of Dr. Kinbott’s office which was facing the street had broken, and out of it jumped a person, who quickly saved themselves from smashing onto the ground and becoming pavement pasta by doing a parkour roll over their shoulder, landing only a few metres away from Weem‘s car.

The person - a young woman, who was probably about 18 or slightly older, didn’t really look all too bothered by the fact that she had about 50 small and big glass shards stuck in most parts of her body, quickly got up, and looked back up at the second floor window she had just jumped out of, where an equally shocked and scared Dr. Kinbott was standing, looking outside at her supposed patient and window jumper. It took her a second to pull herself together before shouting „What are you doing?! We can talk about this, please don’t run away again, I have to call the EMTs in order to protect you from yourself!“ The young woman angrily screamed back „I‘d rather die and go to the 9th circle of hell than spend another minute in a fucking mental institution you fucking CUNT!“ before quickly taking off and disappearing in a narrow alley way across the street.

While Wednesday was only partially impressed since she had escaped the hands of Dr. Kinbott better and way more discreet, Weems didn’t believe her own eyes.

„Eh- th- WHAT just happened?!…What do we do?? Call the police??“ Weems didn’t wait for an answer of Wednesday and instead got out of the car and caught Dr. Kinbott’s attention by violenty waving her arms around. „What just happened??“ „How would I know?! Eh- I have no idea, but I need to call the police.“ She sighed exhaustedly and slowly stepped back from the now windowless frame, and Weems got back into the car in order to try and calm herself. She took a deep breath, and clasped the steering wheel so hard with her hands the leather crunched under her grip.

„That would be person number two who thinks jumping out of a window is a good idea.“

„Honestly Miss Addams-“
