‘Scum Villain Self-Saving System’ was a popular MXTX novel, it wasn’t as popular as MDZS or TGCF but it was definitely up there!
As a SVSSS fan, I was obsessed with anything involving the novel, I would watch or read anything I could find, YouTube videos, tweets, tiktok videos, any source of media or merchandise I tried to get my hands on. On every single media app I had, SVSSS was searched on it at least twenty-to-fifty times.
But my absolute favourite thing to do was read fanfiction. Out if all the fanfiction I had read ‘A doting Shixiong!’ was my number one favourite! I had read it over and over again every update.
The fanfic consists of Shen Yuan transmigrating into the body of a child who lived in the same town as a younger Shang Qinghua, the fanfic never really mentioned anything involving their childhood besides the fact they were very close, close enough they call eachother brothers.
The plot of the fanfic is how Shang Qinghua and Shen Yuan join Cang Qiong Mountain Sect. They didn’t end up in the same peak due to the need for them to both be Peak Lords in the future, but it didn’t effect their relationship.
Shen Yuan ended up as a Qing Jing Peak Disciple, and soon as the Shixiong of the Scum Villain, Shen Jiu.
The story shows how Shen Yuan and Shen Jiu grow closer and closer and grow into sworn brothers, and eventually Shen Yuan helps Shen Jiu reconcile with Yue Qingyuan fixing their relationship.
And soon enough they both manage to become the Qing Jing Peak Lords. (Mainly thanks to Shen Jiu ‘talking’ it out with the previous Peak Lords.)
But here's where the drama starts.
Before Shen Yuan and Shang Qinghua didn’t have a system after transmigrating, hence how he changed so much, but after ascending they both suffered a Qi Deviation which ended up as a cover up to get them waking up with a new system.
Unfortunately this system was more strict then the one from SVSSS, it told them what to do and when to do it and threatened them either with death or the death of their friends if they refused or failed.
They managed to make it up until Luo Binghe joined. Shen Jiu hated him, while Shen Yuan doted on him because he was the protagonist, this caused them to get into more fights than they ever had been in before.
Shen Yuan managed to protect Luo Binghe from Shen Jiu as much as he could. Until the Immoral Alliance Conference.
Shen Yuan knew Luo Binghe was supposed to fall into the Abyss, he knew he couldn’t stop it, but he tried to at least prepare Luo Binghe for it by packing supplies that he would need. (This did end in him losing some B-points though.)
During the Post-Abyss years Shen Yuan and Shang Qinghua had gone away on a mission for a year, the fanfic never had mentioned where they went and everyone had discussed theories, but it had never been revealed, it annoyed so many of the readers they started calling the author an aeroplane wannabe because of this plot-hole.
Besides that bit of drama that lasted MONTHS, the fanfic continued as planned, Luo Binghe came back from the Abyss early and like in the novel, he met Shen Yuan in Jinlan City, they had a disagreement, and he fed him his blood.
But the real kicker is here. Instead of Qiu Haitang showing up to get Shen Jiu in the water prison, a young woman called Shen Qiao[1], who claimed to be Shen Yuan’s younger sister.
She explained that she was the youngest of four siblings, two elder brothers, Shen Yuan, and then her. She said that they had a happy family that lived in Bei cuihui[2] Village, a village that had been destroyed years ago from an unknown source, that people had just assumed were demons. But really one day Shen Yuan went crazy and killed everyone in the village, including their family, and he just burned it down. The only reason she survived was because she was out in the woods collecting some plants for their village Doctor. She had returned just in time to see Shen Yuan and Shang Qinghua watching the village burn down, with Shen Yuan covered in blood.
Everyone was shocked hearing this. And with the fact that Shen Yuan didn’t say anything against the claim made it worse.
The Palace Master demanded he get sent to the water prison for a trial. And the system was determined to get him in there as well.
The only problem was that when they were about to leave a Sower[3] demon managed to get free of the ropes and attack Shen Yuan, punching a hole threw his stomach, killing him. (Which I am still sure is a Demon Slayer reference!)[4]
Everyone was so upset and annoyed that that’s how he died, since it never once said they planted the Sun and Moon flower dew seed. And what made it worse is that on the next chapter, chapter seventy the author, ‘I_S3ll_S3am3n’[5] just stated that they got bored and dropped the fanfic?? That fanfic was the base of the SVSSS fandom, it was basically its own fandom with all the content about it! YouTube reaction videos, fanfics about the fanfic!, fanart, tiktok edits and so much more! Just dropped like that!

Why are so many comments just accepting it?!
Angry, I started typing my own comment, I couldn’t let this fanfic go so easily.
‘I’m just going to quickly pull a peerless cucumber here- but wtf! You have been working on this fanfic for over a year now you can’t just leave us here! What happened to Shen Yuan? Will he be alright? Will Shang Qinghua be safe? I mean it was said that he was also there during the destruction of the village! This is so stupid you can’t just leaving us here if you’re bored or having writers block or whatever! You stupid author-’
Suddenly my chest feels as if its being squeezed to death, it’s so dizzy I think I might be feeling lightheaded? Is that sweat I feel crawling down me? Gross.
My eyesight blurs up and I fall back in my chair succumbing to darkness.
‘I knew I shouldn’t have had so much salt on my food when I was younger.’

[1] Qiao – Qiao is a Chinese girl name for girls meaning “pretty.” 橋 is the character for Qiao, it’s is also the character for bridge.
[2] Bei cuihui – I don’t actually know if this is right as I used Google translate for this one as I’m still learning Chinese, but it’s supposed to mean “Destroyed”被摧毁 are the characters for it. I couldn’t think of a good name for the village so that’s what I went with.
[3] I don't actually remember what demon it was, I did put the skinner demon down for this before but then I was like 'Oh no that's the one from the OOC mission!' I then googled it and this time I think I got the demon right, if it isnt the Sower demon please tell me in the comments which demon it was so I can fix it!
[4] It is a Demon Slayer reference, I couldn’t think of anything better when I was writing this scene at the time, and Rengoku was my favourite character so I just went with that.
[5] I had to give the author a dick joke- it wouldn’t have been a SVSSS fanfic without it, I couldn’t come up with anything good besides that though, so if anyone has any better ideas please comment them!
[6] I pulled out the first SVSSS book from my SVSSS shrine and just copied the first things the System said after Shen Yuan Transmigrated but just changed the activation code.
