Work Text:

Deucalion listened to his fellow Alphas report their base findings on the current Hale pack. So far he was not optimistic.

The late Talia Hale's only son was so emotionally inept that two of his three turned betas had fled from his pack while the remaining one was raised in an abusive home which led to him believing that his current situation was actually good rather than just better.

Kali had been listening in on the young beta turned by Peter Hale, and while he looked promising in terms of potential power, his mindset was so painfully black-and-white that he already knew there was no way to willingly sway him to their side.

Ethan and Aiden had been tasked with observing the younger pack at large now that the new school year had started.

Deucalion turned to them, using his alpha eyes behind his shades to observe the youngest members of the Alpha Pack. They were a little twitchy but reported on most of the Hale pack easily enough, until they got to the pack human.

"There's something different about her," Ethan started.

"She's darker than the rest," Aiden supplied with a smirk. "You could smell it on her, I'd bet there's a lot she'd be willing to do to a person should she feel the need arise."

"Isn't that girl the Sheriff's daughter?" Kali asked with a skeptical frown.

"Yeah, but something happened to her, I think it might've been hunters. She seems really close with Peter Hale," Ethan supplied. "Stilinski had us text him from her phone after she panicked when we tried to talk to her. She wasn't at school for the rest of the day."

"She even called him 'her wolf', if you can believe that."

Ennis snorted.

"Peter Hale, the greatest left hand to ever roam stateside being claimed by a teenage girl? This I have got to see."

Deucalion hummed to himself. This was indeed intriguing news. Peter was so good at his job back in the day because of how loose his own morals were. The wolf's moral compass spun depending on those he attached himself to. Since the fire, his death, and rebirth this past March, he was much more selective about the connections he made, as many in the wider supernatural community could attest. This girl, Stiles, must be something really special.

"Well then, I suppose we must set up a meeting."

Notes:

Sorry for the brevity, I'm back in school, a few essays are due, and I'm getting a novella published soon.

I hope you enjoy, and I do plan to carry on this series once the semester ends.
