Work Text:
Gavin and Nines walk into the crime scene, Gavin already pretty annoyed because Captain Fowler is making them work overtime for the current case, not expecting the FBI to be at the scene.
“Hey Ben!” Gavin called “The fuck’s the FBI doin’ here?” Gavin called but before Ben could reply, Perkins walked over and said, “This is FBI business now, Detective, so you and your tin can can go home now.” Before turning to walk away.
“The fuck did you call Nines.” Gavin spat. Causing the android in question to turn to him. Gavin looking about ready to punch Perkins in the jaw.
“Detective, don’t, Captain Fowler won’t be happy if you punch someone else.” Nines said, putting a hand on Gavin’s shoulder. “You can’t let him say that shit like that then brush it off ‘cus Fowler won’t be happy.” Gavin all but snarled.
“Detective, it could get you fired because of the other things on your behaviour report.”
Nines stepped forwards and tapped Perkins on the shoulder, causing the other to turn around. Nines punched him in the nose the second he looked at him. Perkins stumbled back from the force, blood pouring from his nose.
Nines could hear Gavin’s laugh of surprise from behind him. He walked back to his place beside Gavin and smoothed out his jacket like nothing happened.”Well shit.” Ben said from where he stood, watching. “The Detective and I have every right to stay here and investigate the scene as we were instructed to by Captain Fowler. So if you excuse us, we would like to have a look at our crime scene.” Nines said, walking past where Perkins stood, tending to a probably broken nose, hitting his shoulder with his as he went.
“Shit, Nines, am I rubbing off on you.” Gavin said, with a hint of humour in his voice.
“I assure you, Detective, the only person responsible for my rash behaviour is Agent Perkins. I would rather you drop the subject though, so we can focus on the case.”
“You know this will be recorded right? Are you ready to have your perfect record affected like that?”
“I’m ready to face the consequences of my actions.”
