The Gilded Blade Code Name: Venom

Summary:

Spy: A person who secretly collects and reports information on the activities, movements, and plans of an enemy or competitor.
Spies work for a government or other organization by secretly collecting information about enemies or competitors. A spy is a highly intelligent, critical thinker who can manage stress, extreme adversity, is very adaptable, physically fit, and most importantly, has the ability to blend in no matter what the environment. They are trained for missions that will take out enemy assets.
Back before the dawn of quirks spies were either created by the government or hired by the government. They had many skills that had to acquire and hone. Now with quirks overtaking the population most of those skills have been lost. Most people would not go beyond exploring the realm of possibilities of everything they can achieve with and without quirks.
No matter what the time is, there will always be a need for spies. The only question is do they have the skills to make it?

An Au where deku has no quirk and becomes a spy/assassin. Potential BakuDeku ending

Chapter 1: Aldera Junior High

Chapter Text

Most saw Izuku Midoriya as the scrawny scared quirkless kid, but only one person knew who he really was. Bakugo Katsuki. Bakugo was the only person to ever realize whether he knew it or not that Midoriya is a threat. He hated that Midoriya was an unknown. After everything everyone has ever said to him, however many times anyone has told him that he was useless and a waste of space, or to even kill himself Midoriya never once stopped smiling.

This happens time and time again.

Every day the same old things happen. Nothing changes. All too predictable. If it were not for the fact that doing one thing out of the ordinary would make Izuku Midoriya’s life at school, (read: his own personal hell), he would have changed things from the start.

Today was no different.

Snickers were heard from around the classroom as Izuku walked in. He paid no mind to anyone as he made his way to his seat, tripped over a couple of people’s feet falling into Bakugo’s desk.

“Watch it you shitty deku!” Bakugo yelled, letting off small explosions.

“S-sorry k-kacchan. I-I didn’t mean to.” Izuku whispered scattering to get up and finish making his way to his desk before the bell rang.

His desk had profanities written all over it along with spider lilies. Izuku took a small breath as he stared at it until the bell rang.

The teacher walked in shutting the door behind them.

“Midoriya! You should have been in your seat already! And you vandalized your desk! Again. Did you not learn from the last time?” Their teacher shouted.

At that moment Izuku was on the edge of snapping. He shut his eyes taking another breath as he tapped his finger against the side of his leg counting to ten under his breath.

“Hello? Midoriya are you even listening to me?” Their teacher asked, annoyance dripping from every word.

“Of course, Sensei… My apologies.” He said glancing over at his teacher who turned his back to the class and started writing on the board.

The other students snickered before turning their backs to him. Bakugo’s glaze lingered on him a bit longer before letting out an annoyed huff turning back to the front. Izuku pulled his phone out taking a quick picture before hiding it in the inside pocket of his jerkin before grabbing the flowers putting them in his bag.

Maybe I should visit Inko today after school… I need to talk to someone, and I don’t want to worry mom about this without a clear head… Grandpa Zu always said a clear mind is always better than one clouded by rage when seeking out revenge, especially if you don’t want it exposed before it’s done.

“Midoriya! Pay attention in class! If you keep this up, you’ll never graduate.” His teacher said.

“TSK. Like Deku can even pass this year’s classes! He’s nothing but useless!” Bakugo said.

“That reminds me. Make sure to fill out these papers by the end of this period. You’ll be going over these with your guidance counselor for what you need to do to get into the school of your choice. My best guess you’ll all want to get into a hero school!” the teacher grinned.

“I’m going to be the first Student from this stupid school to get into UA! All you extras are beneath me! Just a steppingstone in my origin story to be the number one hero!” Bakugo shouted climbing on top of his desk letting sparks fly from his hands.

“Alright, settle down, settle down, back in your seats everyone. For the rest of this class, work on any homework you haven’t finished yet and fill out the paperwork that’s being passed back to you. Just make sure to keep the noise down to a manageable level.” The teacher said.

The rest of the class period went by quickly and by the end papers were being handed in before the next teacher came in. The rest of class all the way up to the end of the day was, luckily, mundane. Well, it was until the guidance counselor came in and was going over everyone’s schools.

“Alright Bakugo… looks like you want to go to UA. You are one of the most promising students even get in.” They spoke.

“Hell, yeah, I am! I will be the first and only person to get into that school from this shitty place!” Bakugo shouted.

“Oh- Midoriya looks like you wanted to go to UA as well.” They said with a bored tone rolling their eyes. “You need to work on your grades more, even then you probably won’t pass the entrance exam. You should probably look into schools that is more realistic for someone of your stature.” He stated.

“YOU SHITTY DEKU!” Bakugo screamed. “You’re not getting into UA! Just me!”

With that the bell rang, most of the students and the counselor left without another thought. The few remaining were Bakugo, his two lackeys, and Izuku. Izuku quietly packed his bag leaving his notebook for last which was a mistake.

“You’re still writing in these shitty notebooks you stupid Deku!” Bakugo spat, picking the book up not bothering to even look at it.

“Kacchan give it back, I don’t have time for this.” Izuku said.

“Hell no! You listen to me.” He said and let his quirk off charring the outside of the books before throwing them out the window. “And you listen closely,” grabbing him by his shoulder squeezing it tightly as the pops from the palms of his hands made holes in his uniform, “You won’t apply to UA, and you will do everyone a favor.” He growled glaring down at him as Izuku turned his head away. “Look at me when I’m talking to you, shitty Deku.” He spat grabbing his chin making him look up slamming Izuku against the wall. “Do us all a favor and just take a swan dive off the roof and prey for a quirk in your next life.” Bakugo said letting go and walked away with his cronies following laughing.

Izuku stood there frozen in place with his eyes widened. He stayed for a couple minutes before snapping out of it.

He shouldn’t say stuff like that to someone. If anyone else was told that after being bullied by him, they would jump… I wouldn’t jump… I can’t jump.

He took his phone out instantly sending his mom a text:

GreenBeanBoi:

Hey mama I’m going to be late to UA. Gonna stop off at Inko’s cemetery.

GreenBeanBoi:

Can you let Grandpa know plz?

SleepyMom:

Sure Zuzu, everything alright?

SleepyMom:

You usually only go there when you have a lot to think about.

SleepyMom:

Don’t forget baby, I’m here if you need me.

SleepyMom:

We can have strawberry shortcake ice cream with chocolate syrup and Katsudon while and watch documentaries or have all that and I can listen.

SleepyMom:

you need sweetheart.

Izuku smiled slightly at his phone walking down to the koi pond where his notebook landed fishing it out with a sigh before returning her message.

GreenBeanBoi:

Everything is fine mama. Just want to clear my head before talking with Grandpa about the project we’ve been working on for the past year.

SleepyMom:

PLEASE DON’T TAKE OVER THE WORLD I’M TO YOUNG FOR THIS

SleepyMom:

Sorry Your uncle stole my phone. But please not til you are 18 at the very least and please warn us. Like maybe a 2-month notice.

Izuku let out a snort heading under a bridge, the only shortcut to the cemetery.

GreenBeanBoi:

Mama tell Uncle Zashi that he’s an old man and I make no such promise :P

GreenBeanBoi:

But no that’s not the project. I will fill you in later tho. Pinky Promise.

A rattling sounded from behind Izuku making his smile fade slightly and his steps faulter, the hairs on the back of his neck raised slightly as he slowly put his phone in his pocket feeling a pen there. His breath hitched as he turned his head slightly looking out the corner of his eyes just in time to see a giant sludge monster come out of the suage system.

“Shit.” He muttered under his breath before sprinting towards the exit.

“Oh, look at this a meat suit! Perfect! You’ll be perfect to blend in while I escape this city. Especially since I didn’t know he would be here.” The sludge monster said trapping Izuku.

Izuku screamed until sludge started forcing its way down his throat. Izuku gagged clawing at the sludge trying to breath at least through his nose before it got covered.

No! I can’t die here! Mom is going to be so worried. I have so much to do still.

“Stop struggling and it will be over soon enough.” The Sludge Monster laughed.

Izuku’s vision started to fade, and in one last effort with all his strength he stabbed the Sludge Monster in the one place that wasn’t slipping though his fingers, his eye. The monster yelled, pulling back just enough to let Izuku get a breath in.

“I AM HERE!” A voice yelled.

Wind was sent though the tunnel sending the sludge fly off of Izuku before his eyes rolled back into his head collapsing on the floor. Allmight cleaned up the sludge putting it in a soda bottle before shoving it into his pants pockets. He picked up the kids’ notebook and pulled a pen out signing it before tapping Izuku’s face until he woke up. Izuku let out a groan opening his eyes slowly, his vision still blurry.

“Hey good to see you awake young man.” Allmight laughed, “Thought I lost you there.”

“Wha- what? Allmight?” he mumbled blinking a couple times before his vision cleared up. “Wow it’s really you!” he said sitting up instantly coughing a bit.

“Yeah, kid it’s me! You’re safe now and I’ll be taking the villain  into custody!” Allmight boomed standing up straight lifting the bottle out of his pocket slightly.

Izuku winced seeing the eyes of the sludge floating around in the soda bottle letting out another cough.

“I’ll be on my way now! Take care young boy!”

“Wait Allmight!” Izuku shouted quickly climbing to his feet reaching out grabbing the back of his shirt before Allmight took off.

He screamed holding on tightly.

“I know I love my fans, but this is a bit too far! Let go of me!”

“If I do, I’m going to die!” he shouted, hiding his face in his leg.

Allmight let out an annoyed sigh before landing on a nearby roof.

“Young man you can’t just grab onto me for an autograph!” he scolded.

“I wasn’t! I didn’t need your autograph. I was trying to warn you that the bottle wasn’t closed. Unlike most people assume I have SOME self-preservation!” Izuku yelled exasperated throwing  his hands in the air running his hands through his hair. “And now the sludge monster is gone!”

“Look kids if it- I have to go. Knock on the door someone should hear you.” Allmight said quickly before taking off.

Izuku let out a groan before started coughing haphazardly falling to his knees.

This day can’t get any worse…

Once Izuku was able to catch his breath, he was able to head down the stairs and started making his way to UA, no longer bothering to go to the cemetery. On the way to the station, explosions sounded. Izuku stopped in his tracks the only thing going through his mind was one word: Kacchan. He took off running as more explosions went off.

Please say I will make it in time.

When he arrived on scene there were 3 heroes standing around.

Why aren’t they doing anything.

Bakugo was covered with sludge from head to toe; the only thing exposed was his eyes. As they made eye contact, he ran in, taking his bag off.

Please let this work.

“Kid get back here!” one of the heroes yelled.

Izuku threw his bag hitting the sludge in its eye before clawing the sludge off Bakugo’s face letting him breath.

“You stupid Deku! What are you doing here?!” Bakugo yelled.

“WE NEED SOME WATER OVER HERE NOW!” Izuku yelled.

Backdraft looked over and quickly sprayed some water on a fire that was breaking out next to them yelling, “Get those kids out of there!”

“We need more water on the sludge!” Izuku yelled not looking back as he started to pull Bakugo out barely making any leeway.
