Summary
Izuku’s past is filled with ghosts.
He knows all about what happens in the dark, shadowy dregs of society. As Ghost, a police consultant, it has helped him to solve cases. As Midoriya Izuku, his past is a burden to him, something to ignore. Then he gets into UA and everything in his life seems to decide to not go along with that strategy anymore.
They say ghosts will come back to haunt the living if you don’t deal with them. Turns out that also applies to the people and things from Izuku’s past.
Or: Izuku has a quirk like All For One. Said villain is back at it again with traumatizing children for life. Shouta just desperately wants this kid to trust him.

The first two things were stated clearly by the doctor that sat about five feet in front of Izuku. The third was a word that Kacchan called him everytime he failed to make the jump on whatever forest excursion they were on or when he ran into a tree because he hadn’t seen it.
“I’m so, so sorry, Izuku.” Was his mom giving up on him already? But he could still be a hero if he tried hard enough, right? Quirkless or not. Blind or not. Just because Izuku was useless now didn’t mean he would stay that way forever, right?

Summary
Katsuki and Izuku get kidnapped and pulled into a villain's twisted series of games. In one of which, they both end up chained to the floor as the room they're in begins to fill with water. Izuku is given a key, which he can use to unlock the chain. The issue is--He can only use it once.
And so he finds himself tasked with making the choice of either saving his own life or Katsuki's.
(And this choice is the easiest one he will ever make.)
