Niragi doesn't want to believe his fucking eyes at first.
It takes him a moment to realize, a second for his brain to connect the dots and to associate the small, silvery barbell in Tatta's right eyebrow with what it actually is.
A piercing.
Tatta has a fucking piercing.
It must be pretty new, considering that they had seen each other only a few days ago and it definitely hadn't been there then. The skin's also still red around it, looking irritated but not infected.
Niragi stares at it dumbly. He swallows, stares a little more.
Next to him, Karube snorts. "You broken, Niragi? Careful, he might think you're jealous of him."
"Why would I be jealous?", Niragi mumbles distracted, his eyes still on the small glinting thing in Tatta's eyebrow.
"Because it looks good on him. Thought that maybe you wanted to be the only one looking good with metal in your face."
Niragi turns to Karube, frowning. "You have pierced earlobes."
"That's not the same. A lot of people have those. This, though", he nods in Tatta's direction, "this is special."
"Yeah, it really is", Niragi sighs.
Karube snickers again. "Careful, your crush is showing."
"Shut up", Niragi murmurs. "Let me have this, please, while he's distracted. I need to fucking savor this."
"Or you could just get over there, grab him and kiss him senseless, you know? Just a suggestion."
"You think so?", Niragi mumbles and Karube snorts again.
"Oh god, you're officially a lost cause. There's no help for you." He waits a few seconds before adding: "But yeah, I actually think you could."
Niragi looks at him. "And you really wouldn't mind? Shit, be honest!"
Karube presses a quick kiss to his cheek. "We already talked about this. You want me and you want him. I wouldn't mind having him either, but it's obvious that you have it bad for him. I know it doesn't take away from what we have, so yeah, I don't mind, if he's okay with it."
"I love you", Niragi murmurs and presses his face into Karube neck. "Never forget that."
Karube raises his hand and winds his fingers into Niragi's hair. "I won't, I promise. But look", he adds, "Kuina left, he's alone. Just go, it will be fine."
So, with Karube's approval and with a heavily beating heart, Niragi makes his way over to where Tatta's leaning against the wall, a drink in his hand and a small knowing smile dancing on his face.
