Chapter Text
Izuku Midoriya-Queen spent his whole life being feared. For his magic, for his destiny, for everything he couldn’t possibly have control over. People also bullied him because of that fear.
Katuki- the huntsman’s son- hated him. Claimed it was their destiny, since Izuku was y’know destined to cut out his heart and kill him after he let Snow White go.
And it didn’t matter that it was Katsuki’s destiny to survive that encounter- to be patched up by Grandma from the tale of Red Riding Hood. What mattered was that Izuku would try to kill him. That was offensive enough that it was apparently fair for him to beat Izuku up every day after school.
And Izuku would just take it, for years, because everyone believed he deserved it.
Everyone, except mom. Mom, who patched him up and threatened the teachers. Mom, who held him whenever he cried late at night when nightmares of a leaving father and a cruel fate kept him up. Mom, who gave him his first friend in the form of Hagakure- a magic mirror. Mom who never gave up on him, even when he’d given up on himself.
Mom, who was his everything.
It was on the roof of his last day of middle school that he made the decision that would change his life- and the lives of all those after him- forever.
Izuku decided not to jump, but to keep going.
Because even though he went home every day, battered and bruised, it was worth it to see his mom smile.
And for the first time, Izuku had peace.
Maybe he couldn’t live for himself, but he could live for her .
So, he did, and he changed the world.
