Work Text:
Adam approaches his cast mate, best friend, and crush, Anthony at the party. Everyone is there, the entire cast and crew, celebrating the finishing of their run on Broadway. But, even with all these people around, Adam can't take his eyes off of Anthony. “Hey,” Adam says, tapping Anthony on the shoulder.
“Oh, hey!” Anthony turns and pull Adam into a hug, “I was just about to come look for you.”
“You were?”
“Yeah, I was gonna see if you would go outside with me for a few minutes. I want to talk to you about something.”
“Okay, right now?” Adam's heart is racing, he hopes Anthony can't hear it as loudly as he can.
“Yeah,” Anthony nods and takes Adam's wrist, pulling him toward the exit.
It's snowing outside and it's dark out now, Adam and Anthony exit into the alleyway beside the theater, where they had spent so many nights signing things for audience members. They start to walk down the alley, “Sooo,” Adam says slowly, “what did you want to talk to me about?”
Anthony is looking up at the sky, “I just wanted to say thank you,” he says turning to Adam, “if it wasn't for you and Daphne, I-I don't think I would have made it through all the shit I went through while we were doing the show.”
Adam turns his gaze toward the ground, “Oh, you don't have to thank me for that, you're my friend. That's what friends do.” Adam stops walking and Anthony gives him a confused look. “Anthony,” Adam starts, taking a deep breath, he's really not sure how to begin this, how to tell him.
“What's up?”
Adam stares back at the moon for a second before watching a snowflake fall to the ground, “I should tell you, I'm a disaster, I forget how to begin it.”
Anthony smiles and takes Adam's hand, “Let's just make this part go faster, I have yet to be in it.”
“I should tell you,” Adam smiles back, “I fell for you the moment you jumped on that table in our first performance.”
“I should tell you I fell for you the first time I heard you sing.”
Adam looks into Anthony's eyes, “I should tell you when I sing to Mimi I think of you.”
“I should tell you I almost kissed you at the end of What you own,” Anthony says, leaning closer to Adam.
“I should tell you…”
“I should tell you…”
The boys' mouths meet, the kiss is gentle at first, almost chaste. But it quickly heats up, with Adam pressing Anthony against the wall and placing his knee between his legs. “Adam,” Anthony moans, his hands sliding into the back pockets of Adam's jeans to squeeze his ass and pull him closer.
“Anthony,” he moans back.
The two don't pull apart until they are both gasping for air, and they keep their hands and bodies connected. “I should-we should go somewhere,” Anthony says.
“My place?” Adam asks.
Anthony nods before pulling him back into a kiss.
