Chapter Text

“We have to go now! This may be our only chance!” A blonde haired man spoke up loudly, clenching his fists as he stared at the picture of a little green haired boy on the screen in front of him.

“We can’t All Might. We have to be careful about this!”

“Oh shut it Nighteye! We know this little kid is being tormented but we’re just going to take our damn time?!” All Might was now standing up, glaring at the stone-faced man in front of him.

“I agree with All Might on this one Nighteye. Saving this boy is our top priority. We know where they are hiding, and we have the numbers. We don’t have the time to be arguing about this.”

There was a chorus of approvals as the many other officers in the room agreed to the idea that they needed to act now. All Might sat down, heaving a sigh. “Thanks Fat Gum.”

“We’ll leave first thing in the morning then.” Nighteye spoke up once the room was quiet once again, rubbing his temples in exasperation. “I know you want to save the boy, but don’t do anything stupid until then, all right, All Might.”

“Fine.”

The next morning, everyone was ready as they stood outside the main compound of the Hassaikai group. They weren’t going to miss this chance to stop them. Once they met up with the rest of the police officers and got the go ahead, they immediately stormed the hideout, not missing a beat as they knocked down the doors in front of them.

“Now how is our precious little pet doing today?” The masked spoke up eerily as he spoke up to the small curled up boy. He stood waiting for an answer but was met with only silence and his small amount of patience had already snapped. “I asked you a question, brat!” He proceeded to kick the small boy and his eyes showed the smirk he was hiding as he earned a pained yell.

“I-I’m d-doing f-fine, s-sir.” The boy kept his head bowed as he meekly spoke up, holding in the tears from the kick he had received.

“Good. Now you’ve been in here because you did something bad. Are you going to be good now Izuku?” Izuku nodded his head as best as he could in answer, which seemed a sufficient reply as the man just turned around. “Follow me then.”

Izuku lifted his scrawny body off the cold cement floor as he followed the man through maze-like halls until they finally arrived at a familiar door and he felt his body run cold.

“You know what’s about to happen don’t you? You’d better not try to fight back this time.”

“Y-yes m-mister O-Overhaul.”

“Good, now let’s get this started.”

Izuku sat in the cold metal chair, trembling as he felt the leather straps wrap around his arms and legs. After that, all he could feel was pain. He didn’t know how much time passed until he finally felt his body giving out. Just as his vision was going black he noticed the door to the room burst open and figures run into the room. The sound was muffled and he couldn’t hear anything.

Before he could comprehend anything that was happening, he felt the restraints loosen and his body fall forward. He braced himself for the hard impact but was surprised when he felt arms wrap around him. The last thing he saw was some blonde hair man he didn’t recognize staring down at him, then everything went black.

Izuku could hear talking as he slowly started to wake up. He could tell it was light and decided to keep his eyes closed as he listened to what the unfamiliar voices were saying.

“How is he doing?”

“He has a lot of injuries. There were many previous ones, and scars, but also an unspeakable amount of fresh ones. You can tell he’s been through hell.” He could tell that this was a woman, and the first was a man. But he still didn’t recognize them.

“He was strapped to a chair when we found him. Do you have any idea what they were doing to him?”

“I hate to say it All Might, but they were most likely just torturing the small boy.” There was a long pause before Izuku heard the man speak up again.

“All right, thanks Recovery Girl.”

Finally deciding to open his eyes, Izuku glanced around the room. It was all white, the light nearly blinding him. There was a beeping sound from beside him and he glanced around noticing a weird looking machine with a lot of wires coming out of it that he noticed were attached to him. He started to freak out, not knowing what was going on, and he could hear that the beeping was getting faster, just like his heartbeat.

“Woah, woah, you’re awake. It’s okay now, calm down.”

Izuke flinched as the man reached out to him, thinking he was going to be hit, but instead was met with a hand lightly patting his face. What’s this feeling? Izuku thought to himself as the man kept his hand there. His hand doesn’t hurt, and it feels so warm. Before he could think more on what he was feeling the man took his hand away, looking at him in concern.

“How are you feeling, kid?” All might spoke softly and waited as he noticed the small boy look at him apprehensively, obviously deciding if he should answer or not. Finally he heard a quiet voice speak up.

“U-um, I-I d-don’t really k-know. W-where a-am I?

“You’re at a hospital. You were pretty badly hurt. Does anything hurt right now?” Again, All Might noticed the look of confusion on the boy’s face as he waited for him to answer, until finally he spoke up again, still in the barely audible voice.

“M-my l-leg h-hurts. A-and m-my a-arm. B-but w-what’s a h-hospital?” Izuku wasn’t sure whether or not these people would do anything to him, so he figured he’d keep his guard up until he knew for sure.

“A hospital is a place where you can go to get help if you’re sick, or injured. And we can get you something to help with the pain in your arm and leg, okay?” All Might watched as the boy just nodded to his answer. But as the nurse came over with a needle he noticed that he started to panic and try to get away. He stopped the nurse and talked to her about getting something else and she nodded before walking out of the room. He then decided to go up to the boy who was now grabbing his hair with his one good hand. “Hey, it’s okay, alright. Can you feel my hand on yours?”

Izuku didn’t like needles, so when he saw the lady coming towards him with one, he started to panic. When he heard the man’s voice, he tried to focus on what he was saying. He focused on the warm sensation of his hand before nodding to his question.

“Good, now slowly try to relax your fingers. We don’t want you to pull out your hair.” All Might kept his hand on the boy’s as he felt him gradually relax his fingers and release his hair. “Good, that’s good. Now can you tell me your name?”

“I-it’s um, I-Izuku. I-zuku M-Midoriya.”

“Well it’s very nice to meet you Izuku. My name is Toshinori, but most people just call me All Might.”

“A-All M-Might?” Izuku tilted his head, not sure if he had said it right.

“That’s right.” All Might tried to pull his hand away but was surprised when Izuku grabbed back onto it tightly, but quickly let go and looked down as if he had done something bad.

“O-Oh, I-I’m s-sorry.” Izuku was preparing himself to get yelled at when he saw All Might’s hand extended towards him.

“You don’t need to be sorry. You can hold onto my hand if you want to.” All Might smiled to himself as he saw Izuku cautiously grab onto his hand once again. He couldn’t help but feel bad for this small kid.

After a while of silence the nurse came back into the room, this time with a small glass in one hand and a small pill in the other. All Might decided to help Izuke this time. He seemed unsure at first, but finally ended up swallowing the pill and enjoying the rest of the juice.

“U-um, m-mister A-All M-Might?” Izuku was looking down in his lap as he spoke up quietly, unsure of what to expect.

“You don’t have to say mister. Just All Might is fine. And what is it, Izuku?” Surprised, All Might spoke up in a calm voice, with a smile on his face and tried to reassure Izuku to get him to talk.

“U-um, w-what’s going t-to h-happen to m-me n-now? A-am I g-going to g-go b-back?”

All Might was worried as he looked at how Izuku was trembling. He could easily tell that he was scared. Carefully taking his other hand, that wasn’t held, he patted Izuku on the head, getting the young boy to look up at him. “You are never going back there, don’t worry. When you are healed enough, you’ll go to a home that has a bunch of other kids too.”

“A h-home?” Izuku was confused at what he was being told. He couldn’t understand what a home was, or what All Might meant by other kids.

“A home is a place where you go to feel safe and comfortable, and where you can go to rest. The kids there are around your age, and some are just a little older. They treat each other like family there.”

“O-oh, o-okay.”

All Might could tell that Izuku was nervous and scared. He knew that nothing would change that other than time. “Don’t worry about that for now. Just focus on getting some rest for now. You’ve had a long day.”

Izuku noticed that All Might was getting ready to leave and he started to panic. “A-ah! W-wait!”

All Might wasn’t expecting the young boy to yell, so he froze, looking back at the boy who had panic in his eyes. “What is it, Izuku?”

“W-where a-are you g-going?!”

“I wanted to let you get some rest, so I was going to leave the room.”

Izuku just held on tighter to All Might’s hand, not wanting him to go, but his voice became quieter once again. “No, p-please d-don’t leave me a-alone.”

All Might nodded his head as he sat back down and noticed how it made Izuku relax. It wasn’t long before he noticed the boy started to drift back to sleep without ever letting go of his hand. This kid has been through so much. I hope that everyone at the house can help him. All Might kept this thought in his head as he continued to watch over the sleeping boy, eventually falling asleep himself.
