Chapter Text

“I think Marlotte’s got it’s very first vampire” Sookie says, exited as she makes long awkward eye contact with the dead looking man in the booth, who had no problem staring right back.

“yeah” Sam intervenes, joining the conversation, leaning on the counter of the bar. “I think you’re right..” his tone of voice was not like Sookies, he was worried.

“I’ve been waiting for this to happen ever since they came out of the coffin two years ago” and just like that, she was off, worried gazes from the trio left over at the bar as they watched the vampire like a hawk.

“I don’t trust him” Terra said, venom in her tone, as she took another small sip from Nakoda’s death juice, trying her hardest not to make a face.

“you don’t trust anyone” Nakoda pointed out, but before Terra could give her a glare she added: “but I’m with you on this one, something doesn’t feel right”

she decided not to dwell on it to much and got back to work, tonight was quite busy so Sam made sure to keep all the servers on shift.

“two cheeseburgers with onion rings and bell peppers” Nakoda leaned over the counter and placed the order she had scribbled down for the kitchen as Lafayette did his thing in the kitchen.

“got it-” Lafayette turned around and stopped in his tracks, before doing something very Lafayette-like and let out a soft, closed mouthed moan.

“oh Hooka’ what’chu doing being all glamoured up like that” he says, referring to some of the make-up placed on Nakoda’s face, more-so to make herself look less like an animated corpse, but she learnt from Sookie that red plump lips give better tips, so she thought she’d give it a try.

“I don’t want to scare my customers off by looking like i just dug myself out of my own grave” she replies, earning a small chuckle from Lafayette.

“Come on Nakoda, don’t slack” Sam came a put a stop to the two’s banter, making Nakoda sigh and go back to her jobs. She stops however, noticing the missing presence of both the vampire, Sookie and the two sickos from earlier who were eyeing the vampire like a chunk of meat.

“damn it Sook” she didn’t think twice and ran out the bar, ignoring Sam’s calls as she dashed round to the parking lot, only to see a car barely missing Sookie as she dragged the vampire onto the grass.

Worried, Nakoda ran up to Sookie, who was keeled down on the grass next to the vampire, silver chained around his neck, sizzling him.

“Sook, are you all right?” the blond turns to Nakoda, who walks up to her. “those people didn’t hurt you did they?”

the blond shakes her head. “I’m just fine, Koda, really” she smiles, “poor vampire, I can’t belive those people would be so awful as to drain him of his blood.”

‘vampire drainers..’ Nakoda thought, a scowl on her face. ‘if I knew where the local sheriff was of this area I would go speak to them about it’

Sookie had taken the silver off of Bill, who seemed grateful, his eyes wonder to Sookie then to Nakoda, a frown on his face.

“why did you help me?” he speaks, his voice still husky as it was healing from the silver.

“That’s such a silly question, they were going to kill you why would I not help you?” Sookie replies, astonished he’d ask such a question.

“I’m a vampire, a weak one at that, how are you not sure I’ll drink from you to get my strength back?”

Nakoda glares at him, stepping forward, a protective hand on Sookies shoulder. “try it, I dare you” the tone of her voice was malicious and Bill couldn’t help but gulp slightly, he had no idea who she was, but he knew she wasn’t human, she didn’t smell it.

“Nakoda! be nice, I’m sure if he was going to actually hurt me he would have done so already”

The brunette steps back, but she still glared at the vampire, as a way to say ‘I have my eye on you’

“Sook, you should go back inside, Sam’s been looking for you” Nakoda says, wanting to get the blond as far away from the vampire as possible.

Sookie looked distraught, worried about the man in front of him. “but-”

“no buts Sookie, get on out of here” She says,

Sookie looks at the man, sadly. “can I have your name?”

Bill looks confused, but sighs and tells her anyway. “bill” he replies, his voice still croaky, Nakoda assumes maybe he hasn’t healed properly from all the silver, but maybe that’s just how low his voice was.

Sookie giggles, “bill..bill the vampire, nice to meet you bill, I’m sookie”

Bill nods, before he could speak anything else, Nakoda butted in. “okay okay, off to work, Sook you don’t get paid ten an hour to do nothing”

Sookie sighs, getting up and walking away, with one final look back at the vampire she vanished into the bar.

as soon as she did, Bill sped over to her, grabbing Nakoda by the neck and pinning her up against the wall, some bark chipped at the force but Nakoda herself seemed to not be phased.

“what are you” Bill demands, “you don’t smell human, but you don’t smell vampire”

Nakoda doesn’t reply, she simply grabs bills arm, the one he’s using to choke her, per-say and very slowly takes it away from her neck, a show of empowerment.

Bills eyes widen as the tables turn in her favor, Nakoda bends his arm slightly making him fall to his knees.

“I don’t think that’s any of your business, vampire” She says, calmly, gripping his hand tighter, her leather gloves causing more burning than necessary.

“stay away from sookie, you’re no good for her”

Bill groans, as the force on her grip was finally enough to shatter his wrist. She drops him and walks away, but before she does, she asks him one more thing.

“who’s the sheriff in this area?”

Bill looks up, still holding his hand, his wrist hadn't healed the whole way, even while broken it should have taken seconds, He blamed his lack of strength after almost being drained dry from the drainers, but something deep in his gut told him it was something else.

"I didn't break your ears" Nakoda speaks, clearly getting irritated, "who's the sheriff of this Area?" she repeats again,

bill responds in a weak groan: "Eric Northman, he and his progeny run a vampire bar in Shreveport"

Nakoda nods, in satisfaction. "Keep my warning to heart, at the end of the day you can choose to listen or not listen to me, but if I catch you - in person, alone with Sookie" she starts and a cold air lays down around them, Bill's eyes widen and he swears his non-working heart just skipped a beat as Nakoda's icy blue eyes turned white, frost forming on her face and her hair as a white mist escapes her mouth.

"I'll fucking kill you"

Nakoda walked back into the bar, the first person she saw was Terra, working behind the bar. She walked towards her with a questionable eye raised.
"and what are you doing?"

Terra looks up, a clear annoyed expression on her face. "Sam put me her to run after Sook and you"

"with what experience?" Nakoda asks, sitting down on the bar stool.

"Alcoholism" Terra responds, jokingly. "i'm kidding, but it ain't that hard, just put this-" she takes a random bottle from the bar and pours it into a glass, "-and a bit of this" taking another one and doing the same. She then slides it to Nakoda,"try it"

The brunette raises an eyebrow, but drinks it anyway, pouring the liquid in it's entirety down her throat, she places it back down - as she does, Terra looks at her with a shocked expression.

"damn, how'd you down that so easily? did you even feel it?"

"no" She resounds, "what was in it?"

Terra shrugs, taking the two bottles, one labeled 'Bourbon' and the other 'vodka'

"damn" Terra says again, Nakoda just smiles.

"It tasted nice"

"It not supposed to, I was trying to make you make a face" Terra responded, "can you even get drunk?"

Nakoda shrugs, "probably not"

Notes:

So, prologue over. As you may tell my story line is a bit off cannon, but since Nakoda's here I assume it's to be expected, plus it's a fan fictions, if you wanted to read a copy-paste, word-for-word exact of all the episodes then this isn't the book for you.

Also! chapters from now on will either be published episode by episode, or some episodes jammed together, depending on how well Nakoda can fit in the scenes.
