Hey Carats!! This is a quick note from the author before we dive into this extremely long fanfic! Actually it's more like a heads-up..... So, this story might make you wanna smack Cheol and Han, and the slow burn is gonna test your patience to the max. So, only read if you're ready for some dumbness and obliviousness
Also, before we set sail, I have a few disclaimers I need to toss overboard.
Where to even begin? Well...
This fanfic is inspired by an original story penned by the amazing Keroanne over a year ago. As I devoured its pages, I fell head over heels for everything - the intricate details, the captivating characters, the breathtaking plot! It was pure magic.
When I first encountered the original story's main characters, I adored them just as they were. But then, in June during a re-read, something clicked. A puzzle piece fell into place in my mind, and suddenly, I couldn't shake the feeling that the protagonists mirrored our beloved Seungcheollie and Jeonghannie!
Being a long-time Carat (beam!), I'm incredibly proud of our boys' growth. It fills me with such joy!
When Seventeen embarked on their Japan tour in May (remember Cheol's promise to buy Han- his beloved angel, Dyson? And well he kept it!), that cemented my association of Seungcheol with the protagonist's gentle sweetheart, Masahiro. And later, as my social media exploded with Jeongcheol moments, I realized Jeonghan's shy side around Seungcheol. Suddenly, Ichirou, the protagonist, felt like Jeonghan personified!
Now, this might seem superficial, but trust me, once you delve into the fanfic, you might understand why I connected the dots. Yes, we know Jeonghan as witty, confident, charming, and a master of games. But think about how adorable, shy, and flustered he gets around Seungcheol! My inner shipper can't help but see Ichirou in that!
Ahem! Forgive the fangirling tangent. I've simply consumed too much content – countless Seventeen moments and plenty (I mean PLENTY!) of your amazing fanfics on AO3.
Anyway, my amazing online friend encouraged me to re-write this beautiful story as a fanfic, and here I am! As mentioned, it's quite lengthy, taking months to re-write, but the journey was pure fun.
Since I've taken creative liberties with the original story, some things might seem unique or unexpected. Please approach them with an open mind!
