Chapter Text
You’ve heard it before. After the revolution, androids and humans, no matter their differences, tried to work together and get along. Although, not all humans were ready for this change immediately, even if the majority supported it. And with that, not all androids did too.
Why wouldn’t some androids agree with the uprising? What was their purpose? How many were involved in this?
And could, of all people, an android hating detective and an android detective work together to help unite all? And maybe even, each other?
-
About two months had passed since the revolution, Hank had allowed Connor to live with him since everything had happened between them. They were both allocated a month and half away from work to finally give them a rest.
Thankfully, Fowler didn’t fire Anderson for his aggressive misconduct on the FBI because, he was on his side for once. They both knew the situation was unfair, and they won in Hank’s favour. But, it was obvious, they needed a break. Plus, for Connor, he needed time to get used to the new ‘him’.
Consequently, because of how much time they had spent together, the atmosphere around them settled so much that Hank could read Connor like a book. They balanced each other out well. They acted so much like a father and Son duo, they even found activities to bond together with such as dog walking and movie watching.
Although, Connor quickly came to the realisation that he still had a lot to learn about the world, and himself. Thus, he needed time to be alone every now and then to recap, readjust and to just take a moment. Hank always knew when he needed to be left alone and gladly let him whenever he needed it.
Plus, on a positive note, Connor had got into the habit of ‘sleeping’ when Hank went to bed, and waking when he did too. Although, this had started only because Hank walked in on Connor one afternoon when he was ‘resting’, just for a couple of minutes, and frightened him awake again. So much so, he fell off of the sofa. After Hank teased him for a few days, he knew he had to schedule it later on when no one was around.
This wasn’t necessary. But, it was a good start to Connor’s mental adjustment plan he had made for himself. Due to the fact that he was never really left alone as a non-deviated android, it was something he wanted to try.
Other than that, things had been going quite smoothly. Connor had also learnt that he enjoyed metal, but a range of many other genres in music too. Including pop, which Hank grumbled at every time he switched stations while they drove to the store.
But, this was going to change again real soon. Maybe even too soon for Connor. Their peaceful time off was coming to an end and they had already been told over the phone by Captain Fowler that a mission was arranged for them both before even getting there.
Unfortunately, they couldn’t diverge deeper into any details on the call. But, on top of that, they were paired with a team that consisted of a certain member they’ve both had issues (to say the least) with before.
None other than, Gavin Reed. After the incident with the evidence room, and Reed's short temper, Connor couldn’t help but grow ever more nervous about going back.
Would the detective want to continue where they’d left off? How did he not lose his job? What was Connor in store for?
