Chapter Text
At the same time on the other side of the room, Sezie activated her saber just as the visors slid down out of the helmets, restricting her view of the droid that had begun floating towards her. Letting out a deep breath, she was only just beginning to focus when she heard the blast shoot out from the droid, feeling the stinging bolt hit her abdomen a moment later. She let out a frustrated huff before taking a deep breath, gripping the saber tighter as she reached out with the force.
She heard the next bolt fire out, managing to just barely. deflect it this time. She was only struck once or twice more until she heard the metallic noise further down the room. She only looked in that direction for a split second, despite her eyes still being covered, before turning back to continue deflecting shots. The other younglings had slipped their visors up as Jin was reprimanded by their instructor. Sezie kept hers down, continuing to deflect the training bolts back until she managed to hit one back directly into the spherical droid. Once the bolt made contact, blue arcs of electricity ran over its surface as it deactivated, falling gently to the floor a moment later. The other students came up to the girl happily, congratulating her on her success. Except for Jin who was still being talked to by their teacher.
"Nice job Sezie!" one of the girls with auburn hair and tanned skin in the class said. "You've got pretty good aim with your saber. My blocked shots usually miss the droid completely," she said, glancing at a few charred spots on the ceiling with a sheepish chuckle.
Their praise turned her blue skin a blushed purple. Sezie had never been comfortable accepting praise. In her mind she was just doing as she was taught. It felt good, don't get her wrong. But she did not enjoy the spotlight. All the eyes on her made her feel uncomfortable. That was part of the reason why she usually trained in one of the corners of the room instead of being closer to the middle. She had already dealt with that enough since she was born just because of what she looked like. Even in a place like Coruscant where people from all over the galaxy came together, she still got stares. Even in the temple. But she did her best to take the compliments with a smile. Even if she couldn't help but notice the boy standing alone while their Master finished talking to him.
