Day Of The Only Child!

Summary:

So basically, I tried to write the episode Day Of The Only Child! but from Doofus' pov! I really just wanted to explore what he could have been thinking about during this episode.

I tried not to make him particularly gross, but he is creepy bc he's Doofus.

Notes:

Probs just a oneshot, but I have ideas for other episodes like Happy Birthday Doofus Drake!

This is my first fic, hope y'all enjoy!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

When the green themed duck showed up in his treehouse, he couldn't exactly say he was surprised. Doofus had kept tabs on the other rich folk in Duckburg, and he knew that McDuck had recently acquired three little nephews. The red one was the nerdy one, the blue one was the brave one, and the green one was the greedy one. It made sense that he had come here, likely just wanted to use him for his wealth. He introduced himself as Louie Duck, esq. The Third, but if his resources were correct, his name was just Llewellyn. Much prettier than all that other garble.

He finished drinking from his icecream sundae, only half listening to whatever the duck in front of him had been rambling about. The brain freeze he had was a little exaggerated, maybe just to strike fear into the duck. He pulled the magnetized bracelet out of his pants, the thing that scares most potential friends away. That was his plan, for he didn't want people to just waltz into his home and steal his fortune away. It seemed to be working too, until Llewellyn saw the gold. It was like he'd been hypnotized, he walked right back over and asked if it were for him.

Now, Doofus didn't care much for other people that weren't him or his dear, departed Geemeemama. However, he enjoyed how easily this duck changed his mind at the mention of gold or money. He was interesting, moreso than anyone else in this dreadful town. "I like to play with my friends," he told him.

"Alright friend, let's play!" The green duck had replied, slipping the bracelet easily onto his wrist. Doofus smiled to himself. 'Friend.'

The two of them spent the day hanging out with eachother, Doofus quick to distract Llewellyn from his own quickly growing attachment. It was surprisingly easy, each time the other got even slightly suspicious he would just show him a new toy or game. Eventually though, that stopped working when he got caught sniffing his hair. So naturally, he did what had been working all day. "You seem stressed, come with me!" He led the other into the elevator, down to the servant quarters, where he kept some of his less valuable valuables. He heard his friend gasp, and he smiled. He supposed it could be impressive to someone who wasn't as used to riches as he was. "This is where I come to blow off steam." He explained.

"Is that an original Stradabearius Violin?" His Llewellyn asked, in awe no doubt. at the nod of confirmation, Doofus gave him, he proceeded to ramble on about a family member that he could not care less about. He broke the violin, to prove the point he had brought his friend here to prove. "Are you nuts?! Aren't you afraid you'll get in trouble?"

"Meh," he responded, breaking another artifact. His servants wouldn't, couldn't, stop him even if they wanted to. He almost wanted to laugh at the idea. His friend seemed to have a revelation about this, so he handed him a firepoker, encouraging him to break stuff too.

This proved to be a bad decision on his part when the brat tried to slash a painting of his Geememama. Thankfully, he tackled the duck in time to prevent him from damaging her portrait, a quick cry of "Geememama!" as he did so.

The devil child seemed to be confused as his parents echoed him, which only irritated him further. "Geememama Francis, my dear deceased Grandma, who left me her entire fortune." He explained, his admiration for his Geememama momentarily distracted him from the disaster that had almost occurred. "No one touches her portrait, no one! I let you eat wall cotton, you impudent brat!" Llewellyn seemed to be scared, or at least panicked. Good. He then saw his servants out of the corner of his eye. Those smug, useless servants! They didn't even try to stop the duck from touching the portrait, they probably wanted him to tear it up! "Are you smiling, servants? Is this funny to you?!" They had probably put his Friend Present up to this, those worthless sacks of feathers!

He soon found himself running around destroying more artifact to calm his nerves. It had been working, until he saw his servants talking to his Llewellyn. No doubt putting another ridiculous idea in his poor, innocent head. That made him angrier. He tore through a picture of himself, calming him down thoroughly. Sort of. He would be punishing his servants later. But right now, his Llewellyn seemed to be making his way toward the door. He needed to fix that. "What's next, Friendy-friend?"

"You know, I just noticed it's getting a little late, and, uh, so I'm just gonna head home, fondly remember all the good times we had. Cool? Alright, bye," His friend was trying to leave. Now, that just wouldn't do. Good thing he had tools for this. He pressed a button the remote to the bracelet, magnetizing him to the floor.

"You are home, Friend Present!" This was the first guest he'd ever really liked. He couldn't just let him leave, he might not come back. No, no, it was much safer to just, keep him. He shut the door behind him, locked it, then commanded his servants to shut all the windows while he showed Llewellyn to his pedestal. He didn't trust those two around his Friend Present right now. They were bad influences on him, clearly. However, someone did have to watch him while he got his punishment for his servants. It wasn't possible to escape, but he didn't want them to put any more stupid ideas into his head.

When Doofus came back with the punishment, his butler immediately claimed that his Llewellyn was a traitor. That he had 'stopped him' out of 'love'. The younger duck was quick to defend himself, "No, he's lying! I would never do that, I'm your friend," he hesitated a moment before adding on, "present!" And while he did quite enjoy hearing that, he just couldn't reward bad behavior.

"I don't think I like you anymore, new friend." It was a lie, of course, he would have been dropped into the honey bin or otherwise removed from the building if it were true. But since he was gonna be staying, "Maybe you need a lesson in friendship." He began to pull out the umbrella and walnuts, listening to his Friend Present panic about what he was going to do with them. That was certainly music to his ears, he should be panicked. If he had thought of leaving, of betraying him, then he deserved this. It was a lesson not to cross him.

That was when a tree crashed through his wall. And with it came three of the Beagle Boys, and one of the other triplets. "Louie!" Llewellyn's brother exclaimed, running to him. He had no idea why he would use such a boring nickname instead of the lovely name he'd been given.

"I'm safe!" His Friend Present stated, and the new brother jumped up with him and pulled him into a hug. Two of the beagles, one was tied up, joined in on the hug, leading Doofus to do the same.

"New, new friends." He said as he joined them. He didn't want these newer friends though. He just wanted Llewellyn. He might keep the brother, he could have the whole set. But this tree, and these Beagle Boys, had got to go.

Right as he thought this, the third brother crashed in through his window on a robot. Maybe he could get all three. The robot began to charge at the group, and he had hastily and graciously let his Llewellyn free from the magnetization, just so that he could escape the robot.

He had apparently thought different, calling him a 'psycho rich kid'. But that was okay. Once he had all three of the brothers, and once his friend had learned some manners, Then he wouldn't even think about talking like that. He pulled out more friendship bracelets, for the other two, and maybe an extra for Llewellyn until he learned his place.

He faced the blue one first. He tried to shoot him with a toy robot. "You're funny, I'm keeping you." He took a few steps forward before the killer robot came straight at him. Not wanting to die, he ran off. He stayed away even once it was revealed that it was just the oldest duck triplet. He even let them leave, Llewellyn's friendship bracelet left in the rubble of his house. He picked it up before telling his servants to hire a team to rebuild his house. He couldn't be bothered right now.

He went back up to his part of the mansion, where all the cool stuff was kept. It was, thankfully, untouched by the chaos. As he walked in, by the photobooth he spotted something. He made his way over, and grinned widely at what he found. Some pictures of his Llewellyn, the first one being absolutely perfect and adorable. He would have his servants enlarge them or replicate them later. He could have a new room added, the construction workers would be here anyways. A place just for his Llewellyn. He could keep the original bracelet in there too. And once he had the real thing, he'd have his own place in there as well.

Notes:

hc that Doofus will just tune out other people when he doesn't care about what they're saying.

I also hc he only bothers to memorize the names of people he likes/respects. So like. no one.
