Lockdown

Chapter Text

Since the omegas were first brought into C Block, Seungcheol had quickly noticed something about Jeonghan. Even though the omega kept his distance from everyone, he had obviously been very close to his cellmate, Soonyoung. Before Soonyoung's overdose, Jeonghan had spent more time out in the common area and in the yard during their time out of their cells, stuck to Soonyoung's side, not talking to anyone else. But now he stayed almost exclusively in his cell, only coming out during mealtimes, and even then he only picked at his food for a moment while Wonwoo and Minghao continued to get to know the alphas before retreating into his cell once more. It was clear that Soonyoung was some sort of a comfort person to Jeonghan and that his current situation had taken a huge toll on the omega.

Which led to the shower incident.

Seungcheol had noticed that along with being attached to Soonyoung, during their allotted shower time--which to help provide some privacy and protection for the four omegas, the four omegas did have a separate time from the alphas' shower time and there was always a guard posted outside the shower door--Jeonghan only went in the shower if Soonyoung was with him, and since his presumed best friend's overdose, Jeonghan had begun skipping shower time altogether except for the rare occasion when he would go with Minghao and Wonwoo.

On one of these occasions, while Seungcheol was participating in a card game with Chan and Hansol, as Minghao and Wonwoo left the shower room, Seungcheol couldn't help but notice that Jeonghan wasn't with them, meaning he was still in the shower. Officer Wen was the posted officer that day, so Seungcheol didn't feel as on edge, knowing he was one of the good ones. But there was a sense of protectiveness that flared up in him that had Seungcheol ignoring his game to instead watch the shower door. And thankfully he had because a fight broke out at the table closest to the shower, and in the five seconds that Officer Wen took to take a few steps away from the door to deescalate, Seungcheol spotted an alpha taking the opportunity to slip into shower room.

Seungcheol wasted no time jumping to his feet and crossing the room to the shower, barely registering Officer Wen calling after him as he burst into the room. He saw Jeonghan trying to fight off the alpha under the spray of water and his vision went red. He immediately lunged forward to tackle the alpha away from him, not giving the alpha a chance to fight back as he brought his arm back and slammed his fist into the alpha's face. Then again. And again. He didn't stop until a sharp pain shot through him, his body seizing up from the taser darts piercing his skin.

Once the effects of the taser subsided, Seungcheol was hauled to his feet by two officers and guided towards the shower exit to no doubt be placed in solitary confinement. Seungcheol didn't fight them on it, allowing himself to be led away as he looked over to where Jeonghan should have been. He was still under the showerhead, although the water had been turned off and he was now curled in on himself sitting on the floor. Officer Wen was crouched next to him, wrapping a towel tightly around him to preserve his modesty while also apologizing profusely, clearly blaming himself for the incident. But Jeonghan didn't pay any attention to Officer Wen. Rather his gaze was locked on Seungcheol until he was out of sight.

Unfortunately for Seungcheol, he didn't recognize either of the officers escorting him, so he had no idea what to expect with them. So he kept his head down and didn't utter a single sound during the journey to solitary. Once they reached his new cell for the time being, he was shoved into it so roughly that he fell to the floor, the door slamming behind him. Moments later the door opened just long enough for one of the officers to toss his bedding in at him before slamming the door once more.

Seungcheol set up his bedding and laid down on it, ready to spend however long he was banished to solitary for staying there and sleeping. He wasn't sure how much time passed when the slat in the door opened and a tray of food was passed into the room. To his surprise, the slat didn't close instantly. Curious, Seungcheol approached the door and peered through the slat to see Officer Hong still standing there. "You did a good thing, Seungcheol." Officer Hong said.

"I don't think anyone else would see it that way." Seungcheol scoffed quietly.

"Jeonghan does." Officer Hong said, and Seungcheol would be lying if that didn't cause a fluttering in his chest. "I'm gonna make sure you don't end up with an extended sentence for this. You don't deserve that." He closed the slat before Seungcheol could respond.
