Chapter Text
Edwin watched as familiar purple and pink flames erupted as soon as he had turned the corner into the alley. He had had no doubt that the cat he was following was the Cat King rather than one of his subordinates. It was obvious. Which is why the words tumbled out of his mouth once he saw the flames:
“Do it.”
He couldn’t help from saying them. All he could do was just barely keep the desperation he felt from lacing his words. He didn’t want anyone to realize he wasn’t as composed as he was making himself out to be. Not that anyone in his position would be composed. How could anyone be composed after all he and the others have been through?
“Do it,” he repeated when there was no immediate response. He stared at the Cat King that stood a few feet in front of him, hating the playful light in golden eyes that made him feel like a mouse finally captured. But…as long as it wasn’t despair, he couldn’t really find it in himself to care.
“Do what?” the Cat King asked in return, playing dumb. Based on the way the light in his eyes brightened and how his lips twitched up into a faint smirk, he knew exactly what Edwin wanted. And he knew Edwin knew it too.
“Idiocy is not a good look on you.” Edwin cocked an eyebrow. “Although, I suppose, it would be rather hard to stray away from something that fits you so naturally.”
Just like that, the light was gone.
The Cat King tilted his head, observing Edwin. His smirk remained but looked more confused than amused. “Well…this isn’t how I expected our farewell to begin.”
“That’s because it hasn't begun. It’s to happen later.”
It was the Cat King’s turn to raise an eyebrow. “And what’s happening now?”
“...do it.”
“While, before, I knew what ‘it’ was, I’m afraid I have no idea what you’re talking about now.” The Cat King motioned to all of Edwin, a small frown appearing. “Mostly because of how… interesting you’re acting. And, in case it wasn’t obvious, it’s not a good interesting.”
“I’m the one not sure what you’re talking about.” Edwin crossed his arms, pretending his heart hadn’t begun to race at being so easily seen through. At how obvious it was that he was struggling to contain the lingering fear and pure grief that threatened to overwhelm him with every breath he took. “I’m acting the same as always.”
“Right…tell that to the way your hands are tremblin-”
“Take what you want.” Edwin’s hands bunched up the fabric of his coat, trying to hide the way they shook. He took a step toward the Cat King, hoping he could direct the Cat King’s attention to the distance between them rather than how tight his grip was. “My second kiss and my first time…take it. Take what you want.”
“…now that’s a good interesting.” The Cat King stepped forward, his eyes dilating. It made his pure want that much more obvious despite his opposing words. “But I hate to inform you that I don’t want anything. Especially not from yo-”
“I didn’t come here to play games.” Edwin narrowed his eyes, taking another step forward. He didn’t have any more patience left; what little he did have had already been used up with the beginning of their conversation. “We’re both aware that you do want that from me, which is why I’m offering it to you. It’ll be in your best interest to accept it.”
“In my best interest?” The Cat King’s smirk returned. It was wider than before and infinitely more amused. With it, came a near purr in his words. “This is new. You aren’t usually so… dominate.”
“Things have changed…that means so have I. And I would argue that that’s all your fault for keeping me trapped here, meaning you should take responsibility.”
The Cat King huffed out a laugh. “Is this what you always offer those who have supposedly wronged you?”
Edwin felt a small flame ignite in both of his cheeks. “That… Are you going to accept or not?”
“Well…if it’s in my best interest, it seems I have no other choice.” The Cat King took the last few steps toward Edwin until they were nearly chest-to-chest. He looked up at Edwin, eyelids becoming half-lidded. “Right?”
Edwin swallowed, watching as the Cat King leaned toward him. He quickly placed his fingers against the Cat King’s mouth, keeping him away. “Somewhere…somewhere private, first.”
The Cat King huffed, looking displeased. “Tease.”
Edwin tapped his fingers against soft lips. In response, the Cat King nipped at the pad of his middle finger. Edwin quickly pulled his hand away. Before he could remark on the action, his surroundings had changed and hands were gently pushing him back.
His legs bumped into something and he tripped, his back landing on something soft. It wasn’t hard to deduce it was a bed. It also wasn’t hard to recognize this as the same room they had been in to privately discuss his punishment oh-so-long ago. One quick look around and he could see the neon sign above the cliché heart bed he had promised himself to never be on.
He had much more faith in his resilience then.
His attention shifted when he felt the bed dip. He drew his eyes to the source, finding the Cat King kneeling above him in nothing but black boxers. A sly smile appeared on his face once he noticed Edwin watching him. He winked as he leaned over until his hands rested on either side of Edwin’s head. Then, he leaned even closer - elbows resting against the bed - until their faces were a mere inch apart, asking, “Better?”
“It’ll…do,” Edwin softly responded, closing his eyes.
He could feel the Cat King’s laugh more than hear it, shivering once he realized how close their mouths were. If he were to shift, he would feel the Cat King’s lips gently press against his. But he didn’t, inexperience making him too nervous to move at all. Rather, he stayed still, waiting for the Cat King to keep to their deal.
He was only a bit disappointed to feel the Cat King move away. The disappointment quickly left when there was a featherlight touch on his neck, alerting him to where the Cat King had moved.
His hands twisted into the sheets below him, swallowing once he realized how vulnerable he currently was. Completely under the Cat King’s mercy. So, he wasn’t sure if it was a shame or not that the Cat King was…well, himself.
“Before I forget,” the Cat King murmured, his lips caressing Edwin’s neck, “I wanted to say sorry…for all that’s happened.”
Edwin sharply exhaled, an image of Niko grinning at him appearing in his mind. He snapped his eyes open, his eyes darting to the face in his neck. He tried to keep his focus on the Cat King’s curious expression instead of a gentle one as he curtly replied, “I'm not sure what you mean.”
The Cat King let out a low chuckle, one Edwin could feel in his own chest. “Is that so?”
“Yes.” Edwin untangled his hands from the sheets, barely realizing how deathly tight his grip had been once he had to forcefully remove it. He wrapped his arms around the Cat King’s neck, pulling him close. Perhaps the contact would distract the Cat King. “I don’t believe we need to talk so much during thi-”
“So, you don’t want an apology.”
“...if I wanted an apology, trust me, I would have already gotten one. But I didn't get one, why do you think that is?”
“You wanted me to take the initiative to prove you’ve won something?”
“That would never be necessary.” Edwin huffed, placing his forehead against a sturdy shoulder. He wondered if it’d be able to hold him up if he were to release his inner turmoil. He quickly dismissed the thought, berating himself for even having it. “It’s because I don't need one from you. I don't need anything from you.”
“Mmm, but you seem to want something from me.” The Cat King nipped at Edwin’s neck, one knee shifting until it was between Edwin’s legs. He moved it up, pressing it against Edwin. “Don't you, darling?”
Edwin stifled a gasp, slightly shifting in place. “If you're referring to my current…desire for intercourse, I-”
“No, that's not it.” The Cat King licked over the bite he had left, one hand tangling in Edwin’s hair and holding him close. “There’s something else.”
Edwin found any retorts dying in his throat at the Cat King’s knowing tone. Within the silence, he could hear the pitter-patter of frantic footsteps followed by his own pathetic whimpering. He could feel something chasing him, it's bloodlust obvious as it never tried to hide such a feeling. He could see dark halls full of nothing but the heads of dolls. He could see Charles, smiling at him with that perfect smile as he left his heart out in the open. He could see Esther towering above him, not being able to do anything in her painfully vile trap. And when he saw Niko take an energy blade to the chest for Crystal, he squeezed his eyes shut and forcefully shoved all of those memories out of his mind. Every single one that made it hard for him to breathe.
They still lingered, of course. Waiting at the back of his mind for him to let down his guard. Waiting for him to be alone, just as he had been in hell. Just as he felt as he sat beside Niko’s still body. Perhaps, that was why he so desperately wanted to be near the Cat King. He didn’t want to be alone. If he was…
Just the thought of that, of reliving everything until he felt empty, had him trembling. He was able to tone it down, however, having a great grasp over his emotions after decades of restraining them. But he didn't have perfect control, especially not now when his emotions were everywhere. It showed through the way he trembled. He stopped as soon as he started, though, trying to hide the fact that he was terrified out of his mind to experience it all again even if it would only be through memory. He never wanted the Cat King to know how weak he truly was.
Except, it was too late.
An act of weakness so obvious would, naturally, be noticed by someone practically molded against him. So perceptive of him.
“Is that it?” Cat King purred, his hands roaming to Edwins waist. They gripped it firmly, claws near digging into porcelain skin. He pinned Edwin to the bed as if displaying Edwin was truly trapped now. “If that's what you want, say it. Tell me, Edwin, and I'll give it to you.”
Edwin could tell he had been caught, so he didn’t see a point to try (and fail) to keep hiding what he was truly there for. He was too much of a mess to.
He allowed himself to tremble as he whispered, “Make…make me forget. Even if it's just for one night, for one hour… I want to forget.”
The Cat King hummed, sounding pleased. He began to rub his knee against Edwin. “Oh, I'm sure I can accomplish that for more than one night…if you let me, of course.”
Edwin’s hips jerked up, a soft gasp leaving him at the small flare of pleasure igniting in him. His eyes fluttered close as he pressed his face against the Cat King’s neck. “Is that…Is that not absurd? I truly don’t think that-”
“Say yes and you won't have to think about anything. You won't have to think at all. Not about your return to your nightmares or your sweet friend.” The Cat King’s smirk was obvious in his voice after Edwin sharply inhaled. “Not even about your unrequited lov-“
“Yes.” Edwin could hear his own voice was sharp. Tinged with the desperation he had tried so hard to hold back. He could hardly recognize the voice as his own. “Yes, yes, do as you please, as long as I forget.”
The Cat King took a shuddering breath before slowly releasing it. Then, he abruptly tangled his hand in Edwin’s hair again. He tugged on it, Edwin allowing his head to fall back. The Cat King wasted no time in pressing their lips together, gently biting and licking to his desire.
Edwin let him do whatever he pleased, uncertain how to react. He had never kissed anyone - not a kiss that he had really meant - before and it showed in the way he lay motionless. He only reacted when the Cat King ran his tongue across his mouth with an encouraging open and do what I do.
Edwin opened his mouth. And when a tongue licked into his mouth, he attempted to mimic it. He hesitantly dove his tongue into the Cat King’s mouth. He quickly pulled away when he felt the Cat King’s tongue run against his. The feeling was different when he actively participated. He wasn't sure he liked it.
He couldn’t decide before the Cat King was chuckling and gripping his collar. He was pulled into another kiss, lips smashing against his. He could barely keep up, this time, the Cat King seemingly not wanting to go slow anymore. He messily followed the Cat King’s tongue as his mouth was devoured. But it didn’t stop there.
The Cat King seemed disinterested in his mouth after a moment. He pulled away from Edwin with soft puffs of air. It was much better than Edwin’s heavy panting, his lips stinging and hands gripping the Cat King’s shoulders. It was all he could think to do as his neck was next to be devoured and hands roamed across his body, moving him however they desired to rip off every article of clothing he wore.
As soon as new skin was exposed, the Cat King’s mouth devoured the area, growling mine with every bite and kiss and lick.
Edwin didn’t correct him. He did the exact opposite. So lost in the haze of feeling something after not being able to for so long, he merely gasped and squirmed while murmuring yours back; the word thoughtlessly continuing to fall from his mouth when he realized it urged the Cat King to give him more. More and more until his mind was clouded with pleasure and the Cat King was deep inside him.
Harsh thrusts, sloppy kisses on his mouth and neck, back arching, head thrown back, moans loud and frequent, nails running along the Cat King’s back to try to keep some kind of grip onto reality was how Edwin experienced his first time. And his second. And his third. And more until he had lost count, his body shaking from pleasure rather than fear. All only happening due to his incoherent babbling for more, much to the Cat King’s amusement.
As per their deal, Edwin barely thought through it all, unraveling under the Cat King’s clear experience; frantic whimpers of yours - all yours - yes, more - yes, yes, I want that spewing from his mouth in response to the Cat’s King’s content groans of you’re mine - you’ll always be mine - again? - do you want to be mine forever?
If Edwin were more coherent, he would have realized that he may have agreed to something he shouldn’t have.
