Chapter 1: Wrestlemania Fallout

Chapter Text

Sami paced the length of his hotel room, muttering in agitation. He was pissed about the match tonight. He and Kevin hadn't wanted to take the belts but..

“I told him this would happen. That if he didn't find a way to let go, we were going to take them.” He muttered in irritation. Shaking his head, Sami sighed, stopping in front of the windows overlooking the city. After the press conference, he and Kevin had left the arena. He didn't want to take the chance of running into either Jimmy or Jey and especially not Roman.

Kevin, thankfully, had been silent on the ride back to the hotel. There were no smart ass comments or snide remarks. There had been no laughter or celebration about their win. They rode in silence because Sami was hurting and not just from their match.

Sami had begged Jey to leave with him, more than once. After Jey told Sami he loved him, Sami had been sure Jey wouldn't turn on him. Then he'd been hit with a super kick..

“I love you, but that's family right there! That's my blood, my twin, and I can't leave him! Not for you, not for anyone!”

Shaking his head, Sami sighed. The view was beautiful, he and Kevin had won their match. He should be out celebrating. Not sitting in his hotel room, moping and thinking about Jey.

Turning away from the window, Sami glanced over at his phone. It was still dark and would more than likely stay that way. He wasn't expecting to hear from anyone tonight.

Running a hand over his face, Sami headed to the bathroom. He needed a shower, but couldn't help wondering where Jey was and if he were alright. He knew Roman's temper, had been on the receiving end of it more than once. “If he had just fucking listened to me..” Refusing to keep thinking about it, Sami turned on the light in the bathroom and headed to the tub. Thankfully, it was large enough to fit a group and Sami wanted to relax. Maybe he could forget about Jey for a few. Forget those hands on him and those lips against his. Maybe, if he were lucky, tonight's dreams would be more about the good times and not so much about the bad.

                                                ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jey scowled at his phone, forcing himself not to yell in frustration. “He not answerin', uce, what do I do? You think he with someone else?” Jey tried to ignore the thoughts. He was pretty certain Sami wouldn't leave him but there was always a chance..
Jimmy glanced over at his brother, a frown of worry curving his lips down. “Naw, uce, Sami into you and only you. Maybe he's not near the phone or it's on vibrate?” Glancing up at the rear view mirror, Jimmy looked at Solo. He could see the worry in his younger brothers eyes as well. “Maybe he already sleep?”
Jey nodded, watching traffic as they headed back to the hotel. He'd known there was a chance Sami would leave him. He just  wasn't expecting it to be so soon. Not after last night..
“I love you, you know I love you! But I can't watch you go through this! You can't expect me to stay and accept this shit!”
“This not 'bout me, this 'bout Kevin! You just don't want to see him get his ass beat like he supposed to!”
“Is that what you think? That I'm trying to protect Kevin ?! This has nothing to do with Kevin! This is about us ..you, me, and your brothers! This is about you finally being free!”
Jey shook his head, looking down at his phone. He'd known Sami was trying to help. That he was trying to protect him and his brothers, but Roman was family and family..
“If you want him, Jey, we got you. No matter what, we blood and nothing will change that.”
Jey looked back at Solo, surprised at his soft statement. His youngest brother rarely spoke about Sami and what happened. If he were now offering his support..
“You over thinkin' things, uce. Sami may think you don' want to talk to him. He may think you hate him.” Jimmy weaved through traffic, glancing over at his twin. “You heard Solo, if you want him, Jey..”
“But what if he don't want me.” Jey gave voice to his fear. What if Sami didn't want him anymore? The fight tonight had been about more than business, it had been personal. A fight for dominance and independence. Sami had been fighting for Jey not against him. “What if Sami decides..” He broke off at the soft sound from Solo. He knew they would stand by him but he needed Sami, too. “I have to fix this, no matter what Roman say, I have to make this right with Sami.”
Jimmy grinned, nodding at his brothers decision. “Damn right you do, uce. Once we get to the hotel, we'll find out where Sami is.”
Jey nodded, stomach tight with anxiety. Sami said he loved me. Did his feelings already change? Don't he want me anymore?
Letting out an angry huff, Jey ran a hand over his face. He wouldn't doubt Sami, not again. Once they got to the hotel, he was going to fix things. Especially after last night. Last night, Sami had shown him just how much he wanted Jey. He'd given so much and Jey had still held back. He was scared that if he gave in, if he listened to what Sami was saying..
“What if Sami right? What he was saying about loyalty? What if Sami right 'bout that bein' just as important as blood?” Jey thought back to all the times Sami showed him how he felt. Taking the hits and kicks meant for him and his family and never complaining. Never blaming them for getting hurt. Never asking for anything but their trust and giving just as much in return.
“What if, even if he not blood, what if Sami don't mean to hurt us?” Jey tapped his phone against his leg. “We know what's gonna happen once we get back to the hotel. We may not even make it to our suite, you know Paul already waiting for us.”
Jimmy frowned, shaking his head. “So what you saying, uce? You want to get a different hotel?” At Jey's silence, Jimmy looked over at him. “Jey?”
“I can't leave Sami. If I don't show up, Roman will take it out on him.” Stomach tightening, Jey shook his head. “Come on, lets get to the hotel, sooner we get there sooner we can figure out what to do next.”
“Well, maybe we can get you to Sami without Roman knowing?” Solo sighed as they pulled into the hotel parking garage. “You know, hopefully..” He broke off as they pulled into their parking space and Paul was standing there, waiting for them. “Don't say nothing, Jey, or you won't get to see Sami tonight.”
Jey watched as Paul walked towards them. Face set with a frown of disapproval. “I may not see him either way.” Jey could tell by Paul's expression that Roman wasn't in a good mood. Which meant a long night for all of them.
                                       ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sami sighed as he stepped out of the tub. He wondered if Jey, Jimmy, and Solo had made it back to the hotel. Were they able to go to their suite or did they have to face Roman first?

Shaking his head, Sami sighed, pulling his hair up into a bun. He hadn't been able to stop thinking about Jey. The pain in his eyes had hurt. The fear..Sami knew about the fear and had tried to erase it.

He'd begged Jey, more than once to pull away from Roman. To stop taking the beatings, and Jey had ignored him.

Until Roman turned on Sami..just as Kevin had predicted. Kevin told him Roman would turn on him because Sami wasn't his true blood. That Sami didn't belong with The Bloodline, no matter how much he wished it.

And Sami wished for it, more than anything. But he wanted Jey, more than he wanted to be a part of the Bloodline. They were important, but Jey meant everything to Sami, still, he couldn't stay. Not after what Roman had done. To attack Kevin was one thing but to expect Sami to do it, too..

Sami stared at his reflection. He'd done it at Elimination Chamber because of Jey. To prove to Jey he was serious about them being together. Then Roman had decided to put Sami on trial. He'd questioned Sami's loyalty and motives. It was then Sami realized that everything Kevin had said..had been true. Until Jey had stepped in and proven Sami's loyalty.

“The proof is right there, uce. Sami showed us all that he down for us, one hundred percent. He done taken chairs to the back and kicks to the head. What more we need to know Sami down for us?”

Sami had stared in shock, surprised at Jey's defense of him. He knew how Jey felt about him but he never expected it to show so publicly. And in front of his family and friends.

Staring at his reflection, Sami tried to control his thoughts and emotions. Would Roman punish the twins? Would they show up Sunday with bruises or..

Letting out a soft breath, Sami left the bathroom. There was no way he would sleep tonight, not after last night. Jey hadn't been as withdrawn as before. He'd been more giving, more..loving. Sami hadn't been able to resist giving back. He hadn't planned on them ending up in bed but..

Shaking his head, Sami turned towards the bed. Maybe some reading would help, give him something else to focus on. But he couldn't help wondering..would they make it untouched tonight? Was there a chance Roman would actually just ignore them until Sunday night?

Looking for his phone, Sami sighed. He didn't want to check it but he wanted to know..

Running a finger across the screen, Sami let out a soft breath. “Six missed calls and ten texts? Why would he be calling and texting so many times?” Sami looked through his history, a frown of concern curving his lips down. Reading through his messages, Sami felt his stomach flutter as he decided to listen to his voicemails.

Please, Sami, don't ignore me. I'm sorry, I swear I am! I just..I need you to answer. Let me know you alright, please?

Sami felt his hands tremble. Was Jey worried about something? Had they already seen Roman? If he called Jey back, would he answer? “He said he was sorry but for what? What happened, are they alright?” Sami whispered to the silent room. Staring at his phone, Sami couldn't decide what to do. If he called, he'd get Jey punished but..

Sami jumped when his phone rang. Looking at the caller id, his stomach twisted. Pressing the answer button, Sami forced himself to remain calm. “Hello?”

“Damnit Sami, where the fuck you been?! I been tryin' to reach yo' ass! You alright, why you leave the arena so damn fast?!”

Sami let out a soft breath at the angry voice. “I didn't want to cause any trouble. Not tonight, especially not for you.” He heard the rough sigh and wondered who was with Jey. “Are you alright. Is, um, is Roman with you?”

“He not here right now. We, uh, we in our suite but..”

Sami heard the pause, the soft breaths on the other line telling him Jey was agitated. “What do you want me to do? Tell me what you want and I'll do it, Jey.”

“Just..don't leave yet, ok? Just..just give me some time, alright? I'll come to you as soon as I can.”

Sami tried to push back the surge of pleasure. Releasing the breath he'd been holding, he shook his head. “What if Roman shows up?”

“Don't worry about him. I'll see you tonight, no matter what I gotta do. You just..”

Sami frowned at the pause, trying to hear what was going on. “Jey, what's going?”

“Imma call you back, Roman just got here. Don't forget what I said, alright?”

Sami nodded, not missing the low, worried tone. “Ok, I'll, uh, I'll see you soon.” Sami disconnected the call, stomach churning with worry. He didn't know what state Jey would be in when he saw him. Would he be bruised from a beating or worried about the next one to come? Shaking his head, Sami forced the thoughts away, once he saw Jey he'd know what to do.

Sighing, Sami sank down on the bed, he knew what Roman was capable of. Had been on the receiving end of his punishment, more than once. Sami had even had to watch as Roman beat Jey or Jimmy for defending him. Especially Jey, who'd taken it upon himself to protect Sami, as well as his brothers.

Sami could remember the last time Roman threatened him and Jey had stepped in. He'd gotten in Roman's face, making sure he couldn't get to Sami. Which had earned him one of the worst beatings Sami had ever seen. When Jey had gone limp, Sami had tried to help him back up. Only to have Roman slam him against a wall. One hand wrapped around his throat as Sami gasped for air.

“You think I don't see what's going on? That I don't see what's happening between you two? I don't give a fuck just how close you two get, he is my blood! My family! If you think I'll just let you take him from me, you..are..wrong. Neither you nor anyone outside of the Bloodline can have him. I don't care who you are, what you do, or where you're from. Don't you ever interfere with me or my family again, do you understand me?!”

Sami had held the angry gaze, vision blurring at the edges as he tried to push Roman away. As Jey stumbled back to his feet, Sami tried to keep Roman's focus on him, to save Jey from another round of his cousins rage.

“What is it with you three? All three of you have been acting as if you don't already know how this goes! If I am disciplining someone, nobody needs to interfere! If I tell you to do something and you don't fall in line, this is what happens!”

Sami had gasped in response, trying to pull away from Roman. Forcing himself to ignore the angry, desperate yells from Jey, he'd taken whatever punishment Roman gave him.

Shaking his head, Sami sighed in frustration. He could call Kevin, see if he were up still, but he didn't want to. What he really wanted to do was go find Jey. He wanted to make sure he and his brothers were alright.

Rolling to his side, Sami reached for a pillow. Sighing in frustration, he punched the pillow as he tried to get comfortable. For now, he couldn't do anything but wait.
