Long, long ago when the tigers used to smoke...

Notes:

So this is a prompt I made a while ago inspired by Snow Gloss and the Princes by Starryswitchy (Please check it out, it's amazing) but that I abandoned because Im an insecure little potato. Thanks to twitter user @uarmyprincess for rekindling the passion for babygirl princess Hoseokie (check them out too, they are adorable and share a ton of Hobi content)

So then, I started posting this on twitter last month but, to be honest I hated that I can't go back to edit and just how many bots interacted with my tweets, so, the rest of the story will continue in AO3.

The fic is tagged as BTS / SVT, but Seventeen has a bit of a more secondary role in the story, don't worry tho, I love all of my silly cutie boys and will give them screen time!

Im working on episode two, but in the meantime enjoy the reedition of the prologue and chapter 1 for the Festa!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Long, long ago when the tigers used to smoke...

Chapter Text

Long, long ago when the tigers used to smoke.

The four kingdoms were

Spring and Winter, and Summer and Autumn

Far, far away in the land of Goryeo

Guarded by the Land of The Moon and The Sun

where the ancient ones rove,

the four kingdoms were

to thrive in amity and joy.

Oh, woe be brought,

when fell the Land of the Sun.

From far, far away came the unknown foe,

one never feared before,

wielded in his fist the unbeaten golden sword,

long golden hair, he crawled out of The Void.

The King of Dead commanded an army of soulless endeavor

Furiously he ravaged the greatest of the Sun

To seize Goryeo of everything that thrived in the life,

Reclaim them to his power by the blade of his sword,

in fire and scales and ashes,

The Mad King swore.

The People of the Moon,

they closed their borders

to be breached no more.

The Mad King of the Dead advanced through Goryeo,

leaving a wake of fear, and grief, and blood.

To defend his people, the Summer Prince rose,

Begone the Mad King, cast back into The Void

With the bloom of war came

Hatred and greed into Goryeo

The darkness tarnishing

at the peoples’ souls

The Land of the Moon,

remains occulted to this day.

Where it once stood glorious,

the land of the Sun remains

Victims of the Madness of the Golden Beast

One day and one night will be

when the tigers fearless run

a true child of the Sun

to be bloomed as a rose

like a phoenix to the ashes,

banish the shadows to the void

bring peace to the land

bring the truth with their sword.

Destiny is written in skin, and love, and blood.
