Lando and Carlos were in Monaco together and they were enjoying a free weekend. They had spent time going to the gym, going out for runs together and even going out for meals together. The two of them were staying in Lando’s apartment and they would wake up next to one another and just spend time lazing around in bed before they had to move.
They had decided to go out for dinner but they were wandering around the town because it was Carlos’ turn to pick where he wanted to eat and he didn’t know where to go. Lando huffed.
“We’ll just walk around and if you see somewhere you fancy, then we’ll go inside.” Said Lando.
Carlos smiled at his boyfriend.
“Just don’t blame me if we don’t find anywhere to pick and end up just ordering a takeaway.”
Lando rolled his eyes but there was a smile on his face.
The two of them started walking through Monaco and they would look back and forth across the streets to find a nice restaurant that Carlos liked the look of. Carlos was so busy looking around the streets that he didn’t see Pierre and George walking together across the other side of the road. Lando had his eye on them as they were walking with their backs to Lando and Carlos. The Brit knew it was George and Pierre because he would recognise them anywhere. Lando didn’t say anything to begin with and it was clear that Carlos hadn’t spotted them. He then reacted when George and Pierre held hands as they carried on walking down the street.
“That idiot!”
Carlos came to a halt as did Lando and the Spaniard frowned at his boyfriend.
“What are you talking about?” Asked Carlos.
He was staring at Lando but the Brit was looking ahead. Lando then pointed at George and Pierre.
“It’s Pierre and George.” Said Lando.
“Right, so?”
“They’re holding hands.”
Carlos did a double take and that’s when he noticed that George and Pierre were in fact holding hands.
“Oh.”
“He lied to me.” Said Lando, quietly.
“Who?”
Carlos turned his attention back to his boyfriend.
“I asked George ages ago if he was dating Pierre and he said no. He lied to me.”
“Maybe he wasn’t dating Pierre at the time you asked him.”
“It wasn’t that long ago and he hasn’t said anything.”
The couple kept an eye on George and Pierre. The two drivers then walked into a restaurant. Lando started walking which caused Carlos to rush after him.
“Where are you going?” Asked Carlos.
“I want to speak to George.”
“We shouldn’t interrupt, Lando.”
“I’ll be civil, don’t worry.”
Lando and Carlos made it to the restaurant and the young Brit made a beeline for George and Pierre’s table as he was quick to spot them. No one even questioned the couple as Lando and Carlos made their way to George and Pierre’s table.
Lando came to a halt by the table. George smiled up at him thinking he was a waiter then the smile faltered. Lando crossed his arms over his chest.
“You have some explaining to do.” Said Lando.
George sighed.
“Do we have to do this now?”
Pierre was glaring at Lando but the Brit ignored him.
“You’re interrupting our date.” Insisted Pierre.
Lando narrowed his eyes at Pierre.
“That’s why I’m interrupting.”
He turned and focused his gaze back on George.
“I asked you ages ago if you were dating Pierre and you said no. Did you lie to me? You’re dating now, don’t deny it. You were holding hands before you came in here and Pierre has literally just said you’re on a date.”
“We are dating.” Said George.
Lando’s defence stance faltered somewhat. He looked hurt and George felt bad.
“Did you lie to me?” Asked Lando, quietly.
“We had only been on a few dates when you asked. It’s not that I don’t trust you because I really do, Lando, I just wasn’t prepared for other people to know. Plus, I was still trying to decide if I wanted to take the relationship any further. I didn’t want to tell people I was dating Pierre if it was going to stop and nothing was going to come of it.” Said George.
“Would you have told me if I hadn’t asked now?”
“I was planning on sitting down with you and Alex to tell the two of you.”
Lando felt embarrassed.
“Oh.”
“Hey it’s fine, you know before Alex so you have one up on him.”
Carlos placed a hand on Lando’s arm.
“Come on, Lando, we should go.”
Lando turned to look at Pierre. Thankfully, the Frenchman wasn’t glaring at him.
“I’m sorry for interrupting your date.” Said Lando, quietly.
“It’s fine but if George and I can interrupt your next date then I think we can call it even.”
“We might as well join you for dinner because we were heading out for dinner when Lando spotted you.” Said Carlos.
“I think a double date can wait.” Said Lando.
The rest of the drivers laughed. Although Lando was still embarrassed, he knew that this was something they would be able to laugh and joke about in the future. He was just glad that Pierre didn’t hate him for interrupting the date.
