Work Text:

Stolas was forced to still make appearances at the Goetia gatherings, that Stolas loathed. But still had to attend so as not to raise any suspicions. Most of the Goetia family weren’t aware of the divorce, just yet. But for now, he had to play the devoted husband to maintain the image. As much as he wanted to make it known to everyone, he was finally divorcing the witch, he didn’t want unwanted attention. Especially the attention you would receive from the royals, it was never pleasant. However, in this case, he didn’t care he felt his life was not going in the direction he would have liked. But when was his life ever what he truly wanted? Everything was decided for him against his will since the day he hatched.

He took a deep breath thinking about the full moon night where he wished he could have done it differently. Or even the night of the party in the human realm, he was plastered and couldn’t fully remember the events of that night. Something in the pit of his stomach, he felt a little guilty and he didn’t know why. The friendship, he had hoped to have and maybe in his wildest dreams, perhaps more much more. But that was just a fleeting fantasy at this point. He became conscious of a lot of details he wasn’t mindful of.  Blitzø didn’t reach out after that night and he didn’t bother to reach out either. He drowned his woes in his daily duties, alcohol, his daughter, and his hobbies. At first, every day it felt like real hell, he found himself crying and hoping that Blitzø would climb up to his balcony. But with each passing day, it became a little easier. He found different ways to distract himself as much as possible.  Stolas tried to maintain a very low profile. He didn’t want to deal with anything else in his life besides the pending divorce. One thing he was grateful for was his old friend Vassago, Who had reached out to him. Vassago would come to his palace from time to time to discuss books, and music, and/or he would bring news. Or if you would prefer gossip about the royals as much as Stolas didn’t give a damn, but it was quite entertaining. Dare he say, he would find himself checking on Blitzø through his social media. The imp had let himself spiral, all he could see was Blitzø at bars, drinking almost every night. But of recent he had gone quiet and nothing had been posted for months. Stolas was fighting the urge to reach out, but the little voice in his head would remind him that it was better this way. If Blitzø didn’t want to reach out to him why should he.

Stolas during a drunk night of solitude spilled his guts to Vassago about his unrequited love. How he missed him and he would give anything to take back time. Vassago voiced his opinion that he wasn’t so keen on Stolas dwelling on a demon who easily just walked away. That he needed to move on and look for happiness in everyday life. And that he would soon be a bachelor and to keep his options open, he deserved to find true love. Find that one special demon who could make him burn from the inside out. Vassago was a great friend who was genuinely concerned, but don’t think he didn’t try and be more than friends with Stolas. But Stolas could not fathom a relationship at that time and he saw Vassago as just a friend and nothing more. Vassago was understanding and he maintained his friendship with Stolas.

Vassago tried to attend almost every ball Stolas had to make an appearance to keep him company.  They both knew how much of a bore these parties were, but being part of the Royal circle they had to maintain connections. Whether they wanted to or not, especially as a prince. Stolas mingled with the older avian Royals talking about politics and his work. But as soon as he saw Vassago, he excused himself to retreat to the side with his glass of wine in hand. “Prince Stolas” Vassago lowered his head with a dramatic half bow. Stolas scoffed at the red avian. “Vassago don’t start!!” Vassago chuckled as he leaned in closer  “Anything, I should be worried about?” Stolas leaned back towards the corner. “Same old, same old you haven’t missed a thing. I honestly am ready to retire for the night.” Stolas took a quick sip from his drink. As he looked towards Stella, who intern glared at him as if saying to not embarrass her. He rolled his eyes, and Vassago caught on and sighed. “I’ll be back. I’m going to get a drink and say my hellos. I should not take long.” Stolas just smiled and nodded.

As soon as Vassago left, he heard a small commotion and noticed a small crowd of young avians gathering and he even noticed Stella and Andrealphus perk up. He looked out into the small crowd it was Kimaris the mysterious marquis.

Kimaris was a tall well well-built red cardinal, he was known for his flawless swordsmanship. He was a marquis but was more like a knight. Most of the Goetia family rarely saw him at gatherings. When he did make an appearance, he was always surrounded by other female and male Goetias trying to get his attention. He was a well sought out bachelor. Not a lot was known about the Goetia, pure rumors and the little fame that surrounded him. He was a very attractive avian, who would instantly make other demons turn and swoon just by the sight of him. His family was more of a mystery, again the rumors surrounding the avian weren’t 100% proven or denied. But most of the Goetia members were a mystery, they preferred to keep their secrets and that was customary among the royals. No one questioned it, especially since this marquis was dormant for so long, he just appeared out of thin air. The royals knew of the family but some assumed that their line died or just became recluse. No one knew for sure but this bachelor was an eye to bestow. He kept to himself and just enjoyed certain conversations and mostly enjoyed the sights. Kimaris undoubtedly caught Stolas, Stella’s, and Andrealphus's attention the little times he did attend the balls. And of late, the marquis was attending the parties more frequently. Stolas noticed he would make eye contact with him from time to time. Maybe it was in his head but the times they did make eye contact it was very intense as if he was trying to get his attention.

Stolas couldn’t help but follow the handsome cardinal across the room, sometimes maintaining eye contact. He would feel a sudden thrill run down his spine when those red eyes would just stare at him.

During these last few parties, the marquis had become more approachable, humorous, and charming. There was something definitely about that avian that caught everyone’s attention. But looking at Kimaris now he had some visible scars on his beautiful face. This only added more to his mysterious charm. This only intrigued Stolas’s curiosity, and he wasn’t the only one. Stolas watched him from the safety of his usual withdrawn corner. He patiently waited for Vassago and checked the time. He was going to excuse himself as soon as his friend came back. He was completely socially drained and he was ready to just crawl into bed. He looked down at his empty glass, his thoughts involuntarily went to Blitzø. He hated how true it was that owls only fell in love once. He sighed, maybe he was never meant for love, he had to accept that he would forever be alone. He softly chuckled, feeling sorry for himself, how damn pathetic.

“Prince Stolas, it’s a great pleasure to finally meet you.” Stolas looked up from his glass. The red cardinal slightly bowed and handed Stolas a glass of wine. “ If you don’t mind, I noticed your glass was empty. I apologize for my boldness but I did bring you a new glass.” He softly smiled at the prince. Stolas took the glass as he blushed. A waiter immediately took the empty glass from Stolas and bowed to both of the avians. “Thank you so much sir Kimaris. It’s a pleasure to meet you too.” Stolas couldn’t help but notice how tall and built the red cardinal was. Stolas's blush deepened as he looked at the marquis's arms, hands, and chest. This demon could easily power him physically and he would completely allow it. He was immediately pulled into the present as the red cardinal stepped closer. “I’ve been trying to get a chance to talk to you for the last few parties.” Stolas stared up at the avian and crossed his arms, elegantly putting the glass on the outside of his arm. As if to create a barrier“ whatever for? Business?” Kimaris chuckled and leaned down making sure to maintain eye contact with the owl prince and whispered. “ let’s just say you caught my attention; you are truly beautiful your grace.” Stolas silently gasped and swallowed at the same time causing him to cough. Kimaris softly patted his back. Stolas apologized and gulped hard noticing how much smaller he was compared to the demon. Kimaris smirked, eyelids lowering, slightly parting his beak, and lowered his talons to the small lower part of the prince’s back. Stolas cheeks once again burning, took a step back. “Sir Kimaris, what is it you need from me?” Stolas trying to stand up straight and be stern. Kimaris not looking away once “ I just wanted to get to know you, Your Highness.” He took a deep bow and kissed Stolas’s hand. Stolas tried to stay unfazed by the action as he looked down at him. With his top eyes, he noticed Vassago, Stella, Andrealphus, and Kimaris’s fans wide eye looking at the attention Stolas was receiving. Once Kimaris stood to his full height he smiled and winked at Stolas “I hope to be graced with your presence in the near future.” and left. Vassago immediately walked towards Stolas. “What just happened?” Stolas's cold stare did not falter but he was screaming internally. “I’m not entirely sure.” Vassago looked over at Stella who was glaring towards their direction. “ Stolas, Kimaris looked like he fancied you.” Stolas took a sip of his wine and just nodded. Stolas left soon after feeling like he had no need to stay any longer.

The next few weeks everything was normal daily duties, working on his garden, reading and Vassago visiting once a week at least. He whipped his forehead taking off his sun hat, and fanning his face a bit before placing it back on his head. Then immediately went back to tending to his flowers. “Sire you have a visitor.” Stolas didn’t turn around too preoccupied with his plants. His thoughts went to the only friend who would visit him. He just nodded and stood up whipping his hands on his apron. “Your Highness pardon the intrusion I needed to see you.” Stolas turned noticing that Impington had left, leaving him with the marquis. Kimaris bowed, his expression cold. What the hell did he want? Even though Stolas found him very attractive he was not willing to be around him. He was dangerous in so many levels and Stolas knew this would start rumors. He needed to get rid of him to maintain his quiet undisturbed life so far. Kimaris straightened his posture and walked directly to the prince. He whipped the dirt that was on Stolas’s cheek and softly whispered “cute” loud enough for Stolas to hear. Stolas took a step back and walked towards his garden table.

“What can I do for you sir Kimaris?” Kimaris followed close behind Stolas. The prince motioned him to sit, “Like I said, my prince. I want to get to know you.” Stolas narrowed his eyes. He didn’t feel any malice from the red avian but he couldn’t just easily trust him. Impington brought them tea and pastries. Kimaris thanked the butler with a smile as he left. “I’m not sure what exactly you want to know.”

“Well, I know many things, thanks to our circle. But I can’t say I believe the rumors I’ve heard. All I have noticed is the kindness, beauty, and regal presence you emanate. I was instantly drawn to you. Dare I say I was completely allured by you, my prince.” Stolas chuckled as he placed his elbows on the table leaning forward, crossing his legs, and putting his heart-shaped face on his hands. “I’m sorry to be upfront but it sounds like a bunch of bullshit.” Kimaris spit out his tea and let out a loud laugh. “oh you’ve pecked my interest even more.” Stolas bit a smile back, took off his hat placing it on the table. “Ok, enough of these games. Sir Kimaris please be direct with me. What do you want?” Kimaris took Stolas’s hand, “I want to be your friend but if I dare be bold, I desire more than a friendship.” Stolas took his hand back as if he was burned. “ You know I’m married?” The red cardinal smiled and stood up from his sit feeling that he overstayed. But he was just happy he was able to see the prince again. “not for long” he bowed to the prince and walked towards the palace. Stolas immediately stood up “wait, what?”  Kimaris slightly turned “ we will see each other soon enough, pretty bird.” Stolas felt his heart skipped a beat to the endearment. He sighed heavily, this young avian will be the death of him. He knew he would have to be very cautious around the marquis.

For the next few weeks, Kimaris would send gifts, letters, and flowers. Stolas was very confused over this unwanted attention. Kimaris would randomly drop by Stolas’s palace. At first, he found it as a nuisance but with time he actually enjoyed the presence of the avian.  What he couldn’t understand was the times he would come over; he didn’t stay very long. As if trying to lure Stolas to want more from the cardinal. Their encounters were mostly of Kimaris flirting and flattering him. Stolas in all honesty was overwhelmed but tried to not pay too much attention to it. Stolas had tried to preoccupy his mind to not care for the attention Kimaris kept showering him with.

Finally having time to himself decided to have tea outside by his pool. He took out a recent book that he had acquired from the human realm. He took a sip of his tea and opened the book to the first chapter. “Sire, you have guests.” Stolas sighed closing his four eyes taking a deep breath in and placing his book on the table. He had been wanting to read the book for weeks and one way or another he had been too preoccupied to even open the book. But now that he had free time on his hands. He was giddy to start this untouchable treasure, he was once again denied the peace of going into the world of literature. “ Who are they, Impington?” Stolas said with a bit of annoyance behind every word. The butler knew how stressed the prince had become lately. “Sir Vassago and sir Andrealphus.” Stolas rolled his eyes at the mention of Andrealphus's name. He just nodded and watched as both guests made their way towards him. “Always a pleasure Vassago but I can’t say the same to you Andrealphus.” Andrealphus pouted sarcastically, “Oh dear soon-to-be ex-brother-in-law, why the disdain welcome?” Stolas glared at him as he sat down without an invitation. “I apologize but your visits are not always joyful especially now with the proceedings.”

“That is the reason I am here. To give you documents from Stella’s lawyer. I took the task upon myself so I can see how you're doing, dear brother.” Stolas took the documents and strained a smile, “Thank you, now I won’t take any more of your time.” Andrealphus leaned back in his seat. “ no need brother and it’s quite alright. I would love to catch up with both of you.” Stolas clicked his beak in annoyance. For the next hour, Andrealphus was spouting nonsense. As sweet as Vassago was he entertained Andrealphus. Stolas was exhausted just listening, all he wanted was to read his book. Maybe take a long soak in his tub and possibly finish the book before bed. Make it a night out of it, have a few snacks or maybe just curl up and watch a movie. But no, he was here listening to Andrealphus gossip on and on. “Will you be there, Stolas?” oh shit he wasn’t paying attention. “I’m so sorry, can you repeat that?” Andrealphus sneered “Ohh Stolas, was just asking if you were going to attend the next ball?” Stolas had forgotten about the next ball but thankfully he had work and he wasn’t going to be able to attend. “ Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it. I have work that night but I should be available for the next one.” Andrealphus turned to Vassago “How about you handsome, will you make it?” Vassago smiled “I’m not sure, I’ve also been extremely busy. That is the whole reason I came to see you Stolas.” He turned to the Prince. “I have someone that needs your Prophecies. But it has to be in private, it’s a serious matter.” Stolas nodded and turned to Andrealphus. As to tell him to just leave that he had work to attend. Andrealphus smiled and stood “Well I think I should go. Thank you for the afternoon.” Stolas and Vassago stood up to say their goodbyes. Impington was by the doors “Prince Stolas, these are for you.” He handed him a bouquet of red flowers. Vassago and Andrealphu's eyes widen as they just stare at Stolas and the bouquet. Stolas looked down at the card and opened it.

My prince,

I was wondering if you would give me the honor of going on a date with me tomorrow night? Call me later with your answer.

Stolas laughed; this man was relentless. Andrealphus as nosey as he was tried to peak. Stolas quickly put the car in his pocket and handed the flowers to the butler. “Please make sure to find a beautiful vase for these and place them in my study.” The imp nodded and took the flowers. “And who were they from.” Stolas huffed “no one important. Well, I’ll see you at the next ball. Safe travels.” Vassago sat back down and watched as Andrealphus left without another word but glaring at Stolas as he left. “Stolas who is it from?” stolas just looked at him and lifted an eyebrow not saying a word. “oh, from the Marquis?” Stolas finished his tea not saying yes or no. Vassago just smiled, “Do be careful, the demon looks like a Casanova. From the rumors I’ve heard he has had multiple relationships.” Stolas ignored him  “So who is this demon that needs my attention.” Vassago chuckled “I’m sorry I just said that so I would be able to get out of having to go to the next ball.” Stolas laughed knowing that if he didn’t attend most likely Vassago wouldn’t. They were their support system. “But the reason I had come today was because I did have a client who wanted to see you.” Stolas straightened up, most likely the new client. “Stolas if I tell you please don’t let it consume you. I’ve been seeing you smile more and I would prefer you stay happy.” Stolas rolled his eyes “Tell me who was it.” Vassago frowned a bit, “ Blitzø sought me out, wanting me to read his future and yours. I said no when he had mentioned you. But I think it was an excuse, he wanted me to tell him about you” Stolas’s heart clenched at the mention of Blitzø’s name. “Ohh really how interesting.” Stolas stood up grabbed his phone, and took out the card. He quickly dialed “Hello? Yes, I’m available tomorrow, pick me up at 6.” Stolas hung up and looked at Vassago.  Vassago was completely stunned by the sudden action. “Loving the confidence.” Stolas smiled.

Stolas laid in bed looking at the ceiling. Who was he kidding his thoughts were once again plagued with Blitzø. Why after all this time he reappears? He was finally falling into a routine, which he was happy with. Well, not completely happy but content. He curled up on himself upset at the imp's sudden desire to reach out. Why now? Stolas tried to clear his mind and tried to drift into sleep.

The next day went by smoothly, tried to do some paperwork before his date. He found himself thinking of Blitzø and every time he would he tried to push him from his thoughts. This infernal heart of his would just not cooperate. He slammed his hand on his table frustrated with himself. He pushed his documents into the drawer and ran his talons through his feathers. Looked to his right and saw the vase with the red roses. He smiled; this was his opportunity to move on completely. He pet one of the petals and decided to get ready. He took his time, took a nice long bath, preened, and looked through his closet. He honestly had no idea what to wear, he wanted to wear something casual. Nothing to do with his regal attire. Taking longer than he wanted in his closet going through everything. Finally deciding on a simple button-down, with black slacks and a vest. He left his top buttons open, letting his chest feathers spill out.

Stolas looked at himself once over in the mirror, he shrugged why did he care? A part of him wanted to move on but the other couldn’t and wouldn’t let go of Blitzø. He had to accept his feelings wouldn’t subside for the Imp that held his heart prisoner. He clicked his beak at the thought, he buried his face in his hands, and took a deep breath. He looked up and stared at himself in the mirror put a bit of mascara and stood. A soft knock came from the door, “come in”, the butler came in. “Sire, Sir Kimaris is here.” Stolas smiled “thank you”

He wasn’t planning to dress up and didn’t want to give off the idea of wanting a possible second date. His heart was definitely not ready and he thinks he will never be but maybe having another friend wouldn’t hurt.

Stolas descended his stairway and saw the red cardinal standing in a casual black knitted-neck sweater and brown slacks holding a small box. The damn avian looked handsome, the sweater accentuated his narrow waist, his broad chest, and shoulders. Stolas swallowed hard he was attracted to him physically that was for sure. He tried to maintain a neutral expression as he stood in front of him. Kimaris bowed took his hand and kissed it. He opened the box and showed Stolas the gift he had brought him. It was a gold crescent moon brooch with stars dangling. “Would you like to wear it?” Stolas was in awe at the small gift, he nodded. Kimaris took the brooch out of the box and pinned it to Stolas’s vest. The marquis smiled down at Stolas “Perfect” Stolas blushed “Thank you, it is perfect. “ Kimaris chuckled “I wasn’t talking about the brooch.” He winked at Stolas as he took his hand. They stepped outside and there was a red sports car waiting for them. “Wait you know how to drive?” The red avian chuckled “Of course I do. I hate being pampered; I like to do things for myself.” He opened the passenger door for Stolas.

They arrived at the botanical garden restaurant; Stolas was amazed. They were the only ones on the east side of the garden. The restaurant was well known for its privacy. As they ordered, Stolas kept staring at the red cardinal not completely convinced “If I may ask, why have our conversations and interactions been limited?” Kimaris looked up smiled nervously and rubbed the back of his head. Stolas waited patiently, noticing the avian averting his gaze. “The truth would be preferred.” Kimaris sighed “The truth is I’ve wanted to impress you. But I’m not like the other uptight fuckers at those stupid pretentious balls. I’m not very smart and I cuss a lot.”

Stolas blinked multiple times and started to laugh, the red avian puffed his feathers. “well I would prefer for you to be yourself.” Kimaris sheepishly smiled as he relaxed. “that’s good to hear, feathers.” Stolas froze and looked at the red cardinal. “so you don’t mind if I cuss?” Stolas kept his eyes on him, something told him his demeanor was familiar. “no of course not. I would feel better if you could be yourself.” Kimaris gave him a cheesy smile, “You know, you look very hot birdy.” Stolas again felt something tugging at his heart and conscience. He decided to ignore it for the sake of the date. “What interest do you have?” Kimaris took a sip of his drink. “well I love going out to the shooting range and blowing off some steam. I also love horses.” Stolas chest tightened, no no it's just a coincidence. Throughout their dinner and their walk around the garden, Stolas kept having instances of his heart wanting to jump out of his chest. But he kept pushing down the little voice in his head screaming Blitzø. This marquis may have similarities to his beloved imp but at the end of the day, Kimaris was no Blitzø. Stolas maintains a distance from the marquis trying to gather his thoughts and just remain calm.

“Your Highness, can you close your eyes?” I have one last surprise for you?” Stolas nodded Kimaris lowered himself next to Stolas’s face and whispered. “No peaking!!” Stolas hooted in surprise and squeezed his eyes shut. Kimaris took Stolas’s hand and guided him.

He felt an Instant breeze go through his feathers and the smell of pine. “Ok open your eyes.” They were standing in an open flower field in the middle of a forest. A clear view of the starry sky and a beautiful full moon in full display. In that instant stolas held his breath, he couldn’t believe how beautiful everything looked. It looked like a real-life painting. Stolas smiled wide as he ran his talons over the beautiful flowers next to him. "It's breathtaking." Stolas whispered under his breath. Kimaris once again took his hand and kissed his knuckles, immediately rewarded with a blush from the prince. He cubed the prince's cheek and ran his thumb across his cheek as he inched closer. “Oh Satan, you’re fuckin gorgeous, Stols.” Kimaris whispered in a low tone. Stolas froze, only one demon had called him that. His eyes widened trying to move but he couldn’t as he noticed the Marquis closing the distance between them. Kimaris wrapped an arm around Stolas’s waist and slowly pulled him in for a kiss. Soft, tender, and desperate; as if the red cardinal was trying to pour every part of him into that one single kiss. Stolas closed his eyes, knees went weak buckling, and Kimaris tightened his hold around the prince. Losing himself in the moment he envisioned Blitzø in front of him. His mind letting him daydream, he smiled fully believing in that moment. He gave himself to the moment, wrapping his arms around the avian. He kissed back feverishly and with so much longing. “Oh, Blitzy.” He whispered between kisses. The avian chuckled “What?” and Stolas realized his mistake. He pushed the avian away covering his mouth. “I’m so sorry but I have to go. Thank you for the wonderful night.” Stolas said not once turning to look at the red avian. He walked forward opening a portal to his palace. Kimaris ran after him and jumped through the portal. Lunging himself forward to grab the prince’s wrist. Stolas instantly pulled his wrist free and looked at the marquis as if he had just been insulted. “I did enjoy my time with you but I’m not feeling adequate tonight. Please leave.” Kimaris straight up to his full height, pain shown on his features. “Wait, did I do something wrong?” Stolas turned to walk towards his stairs. “No, but I can’t give you what you want. My heart belongs to someone else as much as it pains me. And as a cruel joke from the universe, you remind me so much of him.” Kimaris tried to reach out to the prince. “I’m sorry Stolas, I can..” Stolas cut him off “Please I would like to retire for the night.” Kimaris glared at the floor and balled his fists. “What’s so great about him? Looks like he hurt you deeply.” Stolas turned, tears going down his face. “ yes, he may have hurt me deeply. But I love him, even if he won’t ever return the sentiment. I will always love him. Pursuing anything past a friendship with me will be pointless. So I advise you to give up.” The marquis softly smiled “I love you too, Stols.” Stolas looked at the marquis as if he was crazy, did he not hear what he just said? “This isn’t funny and I don’t understand your response.” Kimaris walked towards the prince, “I’ve been watching you for months trying to find a way to get into your inner circle. I’ve gone through so many stupid tests just so I don’t raise any suspicions. Being around those fuckin royal chickens is exhausting. You were right the party’s suck.” Stolas scrunched his face not being able to follow in what he meant. “What do you mean?” Kimaris chuckled, “what I meant is I missed you and love you too pretty bird.” The marquis reached out for his hand and intertwined his talons with the prince. “ I am truly sorry that it took me this long to realize it. I’m just stupid and stubborn. I was scared to let myself love you. I am broken and I know I have ruined other demon's lives just by existing. But I realized I haven’t been able to function without you. Every day has been just shitty.” Stolas glared up at the demon feeling like he was just playing with his feelings. Kimaris noticed and just sighed, he pulled his sleeve up and rubbed his watch. Magic engulfed the avian, transforming him into a very familiar imp. Stolas's eyes widen and instantly narrow. “ I know you might not be happy to see me right now but everything I said was true.” Stolas crossed his arms, “then why did it take you this long?” Blitzø frowned “ Believe me I tried reaching out to you. Through texts but it seems like you blocked me. In person, I tried to come over but your security and your fuckin butler made sure you were unreachable. You have no idea how many times I have tried. Don’t get me started with that red feather duster you call a friend. That fuckin bitch made it so damn difficult. I found out he can read past, present, and future. Well, that cock sleeve knew every time I tried to reach out and would fuckin cock block.” Stolas put his talons over his mouth trying to stifle a giggle from the way that the imp was getting worked up. Blitzø looked up hearing a very faint hoot and giggle. Stolas cleared his voice trying to maintain a serious expression. “ so your solution was to impersonate a Goetia?” Stolas lifted an eyebrow looking down at the red imp. Blitzø rubbed the crystal turning back into the red cardinal. “If I had to turn into a pompous Goetia just to get near you, fine. I would do anything just to be able to see you and spend some time with you Stolas. I really did miss you. Besides I really like how I can easily kiss you from this height.” Blitzø pulled Stolas into his arms, stolas blushed putting his hand on Blitzø's chest lightly pushing him. “We need to really talk this through. We just can’t..” Blitzø bent down and kissed him cutting him off mid-sentence. Stolas melted into his arms, now he knew why he had reacted like that when they had kissed. His body knew who the demon in front of him was. Blitzø had a strong hold over his mind, body, and soul. Blitzø started to create a trail of kisses down Stolas’s neck, his hold on the prince tightening as he bent his body forward. “Blitzø!!!” Stolas yelped as he wiggled in Blitzø’s arms. Blitzø chuckled “I’m sorry, I’m sorry I got carried away. But I do want to give us a chance, feathers.” Stolas tried to bite back his tears as his eyes glossed over. “You know how long I’ve been waiting to hear that?” Blitzø kissed his hand. “Yes, and I’m sorry I made you wait.” Stolas smiled whipping his tears. “If we are going to be together we really should take it slow and get to know each other. But we do really need to talk Blitzø.” Blitzø smiled “Whatever you want feathers.”

Two months later

Stolas found himself at another party, but for the first time, he didn’t feel stressed out. The divorce proceedings were almost done, and Stella fought him tooth and nail. It had dragged out but Stolas felt like they neared the end, hopefully. Most of the Goetia members knew about their divorce and that Stolas preferred the company of a gentleman.

Stolas made his rounds and socialized with as many members of royalty as he could. He seemed to become popular among certain Royals as they found out his status was soon to change. Stolas overheard the conversations surrounding him about him having a lover and his lover was a complete mystery. Stolas rolled his eyes as he took his usual spot in the corner as he finished his drink. Vassago was supposed to attend this ball but he must have decided to skip. Stolas took out his phone to check the time and sighed. He might have to cut it short and just head home early. About to put his phone back in his pocket, it pinged and he quickly checked.

Blitzy: Work is running late. But I will try to swing by so we can hang out for a bit.

Stols: That sounds great, darling. I’m almost done here; I’m planning to head home soon.

Blitzy: Boring?

Stols: You have no idea. I’ve been wanting to leave for a while now.

Blitzy: What if I can help you with that? Make it less boring.

Stols: What do you have in mind, Blitzy?

“Prince Stolas, what an honor?” Stolas looked up from his phone. A young Goetia falcon standing in front of him. Not really knowing what part of the Goetia family he was from. “Hello,” the young avian smiled. “I was wondering if I could take a little bit of your time.” Stolas just nodded forcing a smile. He really just wanted to finish his drink and leave quietly. But now this young avian could possibly be his son. He must have been a few years older than Via. Trying to look for a way out he looked over the avian's shoulder. He noticed a very familiar red cardinal walking in with his head up high, puffed out chest, and a huge smile plastered on his face. The young Goetia royals flocked towards the marquis as if he were a magnet. Even Andrealphus made his way to the red cardinal.

“Anyway I wanted to ask if you would be willing to have dinner with me?” Stolas smiled softly “I’m sorry but I would have to decline. I am in a committed relationship and I need to excuse myself for the moment.” Stolas swiftly walked through the ball leaving his glass on one of the tables and maintaining his eyes on the marquis until they made eye contact. Eyes locking, stolas fluttered his eyelashes at the marquis and seductively smiled. Stolas slowly made his way to the back towards the outdoor garden.

The red Cardinal grinned excusing himself and said he had business to attend. Andrealphus tried to convince him to stay but he restated it was very important. Kimaris made his way to the backyard.

Vassago noticed Stolas walking to the outside garden and just followed suit. Andrealphus didn’t like how the red cardinal just brushed him off, he needed to show him what he just walked away from.

Blitzø quietly made his way to the garden looking for Stolas. He finally found him on the far side of the garden, waiting for him. “What can I help you with Sir Kimaris?” Stolas crossed his arms leaning against the wall with a daring smile.  Blitzø grinned “Oh I can think of a few things.” He got closer to Stolas “I missed you.” Stolas smiled wrapping his arms around the red avian. “I missed you too.” Blitzø kissed him.

Vassago looked around and didn’t see a soul. Where the hell was Stolas hiding? As he went deeper into the garden, he bumped into another avian who wasn’t Stolas. “Sir Andrealphus? What are you doing out here?” Andrealphus looked over at Vassago.  “I followed Kimaris the marquis but I lost him. And you?” Vassago rolled his eyes at the mention of the red cardinal. Vassago thought the Marquis was way too cocky and just too out of place. Vassago just scuffed “I’m looking for Stolas. I thought he came out here for some fresh air. Did you see him?” Andrealphus looked out through the garden “No I didn’t see him come out here.” They both walked together and we were about to just give up and head back to the party. But they heard voices come from the far right of the garden. They both quietly followed the voices. As they got closer they heard gasps and giggles.

“Love, not here” Stolas gasped. “I can’t wait, I’ve been thinking about you all day,” Blitzø growled. Blitzø picked up the prince and pinned him against the wall. Stolas automatically wrapped his legs around Blitzø’s waist and his arms around his neck. Being a very tall and wide avian made it so easy to pin the prince the way he always dreamed of. The sudden action made Stolas giggle, Blitzø leaned his whole body against Stolas as they lost themselves in a deep passionate kiss. The marquis whispered sweet nothings in between breaths and threw a few suggestive comments. Blitzø snarled “fuckin A Stols, I really want to fuck you right here, right now!!” Stolas giggled “Once we’re back home you can do whatever you want to me.” Blitzø nibbled at his neck “Is that a promise?” Stolas' feathers fluffed as he felt the heat pooling at his core. Blitzø just set him on fire with a mere glance. He gasped trying to not let the demon in front of him have his way with him. They will get caught, they need to leave.

Vassago cleared his voice. Stolas peered over the red cardinal’s shoulder. Blitzø semi turned his head looking at the two avians frozen in place. Blitzø smirked “oops I guess we got found out pretty bird. “Stolas' whole face was red, trying to hide. “Stolas what the fuck?” Andrealphus semi yelled. Blitzø whispered to Stolas to open a portal to the palace. Stolas still burying his face in Blitzø’s shoulder. Blitzø not letting go still carrying Stolas, turned to the avians. “We will be leaving. I need to attend to the prince.” Grinning at them with a devilish grin. He walked through the portal with the prince still in his arms. “Now let me service you, my prince.” Blitzø pulled on stolas head feathers forcing him to look at him as he crashed his beak against his. The portal snapped closed right behind them.

Leaving both royals with many questions.
