Chapter Text
Osamu was tired.
It had been a long day and he just wanted to sleep.
Apparently all the customers decided to all be unbearably rude and condescending.
He walked to the back and put up some supplies and cleaned some dishes. He heard the bell in the front ring and grumbled
'Shit I forgot to lock the door..'
He walked back to the front and shouted, "Ay we closed an' hour ago!–" He stopped when he say the drenched, crying omega.
"Oh.. I'm–.. I'm sorry I'll uh–.."
"Hey.. you a'ight?" He says with a concerned face as he walks around the bar to the shaking boy.
"Uhm.." He breaths sharply rubbing his eyes.
"Come, sit.. I'll make ya' sumn' ta eat.." He gently places his hand on the middle of the omegas back and leads him to the bar. He takes off the drenched jacket of the boy and hangs it up on the rack.
"I'm–.. I'm sorry for intruding I'm.." He sighs and puts his hands in his hands, "people suck.."
Osamu nods as he walks around and pulls out some left over rice and puts it on the light heating stove.
He starts to form and shape the rice. "You wanna.. talk about it..?"
With the wet coat off he could smell the distress of the small omega. He unconsciously sent out calming pheromones and when the boy looked up at him sniffing the air.
"Shit..! Sorry.." He finished the first onigiri and went to get his scent patches.
"No uh..! Your fine.. it's nice." He gives a small smile and reaches to stop him.
Osamu nods slowly and goes back to making the food now intentionally putting out a calming scent. The boy takes a deep breath and says, "My names Akaashi Keiji. What's your name?"
"Osamu Miya."
"Miya? Like the volleyball player?"
Osamu laughs, "Yeah that's my twin brother.."
Akaashi gapes at him and says, "No wonder you look familiar.."
"Volleyball fan?" He asked putting the third onigiri on the plate and handing it to him.
"I played in highschool..."
"Really? Where'd ya play?" He says as he makes his own onigiri.
"Fukurodani."
"No shit. Atsumu plays with the ace from there uh.. Bokuto!"
"Ah yes, Bokuto-san, I knew him in highschool, though he was a grade above me.." He says wistful now relaxed and taking a bite of his food. He moaned as he tasted it before slapping a hand over his mouth and turning red.
Osamu laughed as he finished making his own food and said with a grin, "Glad yer enjoyin' it!"
"I'm sorry.." He said covering his face and chewing his food.
"Nah it's fine. I feel honored to know I got such a pretty guy to moan from my food." He smirked and took a seat next to him at the counter.
Akaashi glared at him under his hands and Osamu thought that made him adorable, but to keep from getting punched he held his tongue.
They ate in comfortable silence for a while until Akaashi got a notification from his phone and turned pale. His scent soured again but quickly softened back out when Osamu put out more calming scent.
"Are you alright..?" He asks politely not wanting to intrude about the text he just received, but worried about the quick mood shift in the omega.
"Uh.. yeah I'm good that's uh.. Just my boyfriend." He picks up his phone and taps out a quick reply setting it back face down.
He shuddered a sigh and looked at Osamu with a sad smile while standing, "Don't suppose I could borrow an umbrella..?"
He says motioning to the rain. Osamu nods and hops up grabbing an umbrella. "Leavin' already?"
"Mhm.. uh thank you for the food uh.. here!" He pulled out his wallet but Osamu stopped him
"Yer fine.." He hands him the umbrella and they stand watching eachother for a second.
"Uhm.." the boy shakes a bit looking down.
All the sudden Osamu feels a deep, guttural tug in his chest and feels the need to protect the omega. To hug him and cover him away from the world.
The omega looks back up with slightly teary eyes, "Thank you.." He says in a small shake voice.
Osamu nods and watches as he grabs his coat and opens the door waving to him as he leaves under the umbrella.
Osamu grabs his chest as he loses sight of the boy and huffs a hard breath, "Oh god.."
'What the fuck..' He thinks as he recovers and looks around.
He sighs and goes back to cleaning.
'hope he comes back soon..'
He thinks even after doing his nightly routine and gets into bed.
'I really want to see him again..'
☆____________☆
Atsumu sat at the counter of Onigiri Miya loudly complaining about..
Something.
Osamu didn't know he wasn't paying attention. It had been a week since he saw the omega that smelt like old books and wilted roses and he was worried.
The pain in his chest stayed and his head raced as he thought of him.
'He seemed spooked..'
'Should I have offered he stayed?'
'No that's not proper, he has a boyfriend who is probably his alpha..'
'Why does that make me wanna through up?'
"OSAMU!!" Atsumu shouts as he throws a small poorly made rice ball at his face.
"URGH!– YOU SHIT FER BRAINS WHA WAS 'AT FER?"
"Yer not listening to me!!" He whined as Osamu threw the rice back at him.
"Yes I was dipshit!"
"Wha was I talkin' 'bout then?"
He was silent for a minute and then muttered, "I don't know somethin' stupid.."
"Jerk face!!"
"I was probably just something about your 'omi-omi'–" Atsumu started to blush embarrassed, as he was talking about omi,"–Will ya jus' quit it! I'm thinkin' about somthin'!"
At this Atsumu scrunches his face at his twin. He stuffs the fatty tuna onigiri in his mouth and pouts as he watches his brother—with the same pout as Atsumu— form more onigiri for table 3.
It's about five minutes before Atsumu can't take it anymore, "What are ya thinkin' about so hard?" He asks in a non-argumentative tone.
Osamu sighs as he finishes an order and picks up a new one. He purses his lips and his scent turns a bit like moldy bread.
"Someone came in after closin' like.. maybe a week ago an' I can't stop thinking somethin's wrong.." He mutters and bites the inside of his mouth as Atsumu watched him intently.
"Hm.. did they seem distressed?" He asks now nibbling on his last onigiri to be able to talk when needed.
"Uh.. yeah but I thought it was just 'cause he was in da' rain or maybe he got laid off or sumn'.." Osamu put the fresh onigiri and rice bowl on the counter smiling politely to the guests. He turned back to his brother and gave a grave expression, "But.. then he got a text and he.. he made the face mama used ta' make when daddy had sake instead of that fruity beer he liked.."
Atsumu's face went pale and he frowned. He set down the onigiri he was eating slowly and pushed it away swallowing what he had in his mouth.
"Mm.. did he say who texted 'im?" He says picking at his nails and bouncing his leg.
Talking about daddy always made Tsumu nervous, like he was going to pop out of his six foot grave and beat them with a belt again, but Osamu had to tell Atsumu how serious he thought it could be.
"His boyfriend, or alpha, I don't know.. I was gonna offer him stay till the rain let up but he.. when he got the text he got up almost immediately, asked for a umbrella and left thanking me for the food.."
He grabs the new order from his waiter and thanks his starting to get to work again.
"You didn't make 'im pay didja?" Atsumu says his face now scrunched in a sad way.
" 'course not! Poor thing was so drenched I couldn't tell he was an omega till he took off his coat!"
Atsumu hums and bites his thumb nail receiving a stern look from Osamu he stopped but his leg continued to bounce. His brothers scent slowly got sadder and sadder as they talked, even with the patches he could smell it.
He had a strong sense of smell unlike Atsumu who could, as an alpha, barely tell who is an omega or an alpha.
"Didja talk to rin 'bout it?" He says contemplating.
"Nah.. he's always off with that Megori gal.. your the only person I've talk to about it.." He sighs and puts the plate of tuna and salmon with cute rice bears on the order stand. "Why do ya ask?"
"Well rin was always real' calmin' when we had 'im over even when daddy was drinking the hard stuff.." He said looking up from the rice he had focused on behind Osamu.
"That's because rin was so high he made ever'one else in the house high on calmin' pheromones.."
Atsumu shrugged, "Wasn't so bad.." He muttered.
"Yeah.."
They were silent for a bit while Osamu made more orders. He always felt bad when he brought up their dad. He knew Tsumu got the brunt of his fist being a protecter and a fighter for his brother and mom, who didn't seem to ever have a fighting bone in their bodies.
Even when Osamu and Atsumu were both presented as Alphas, Atsumu seemed to grow in build and height. While Osamu was large aswell and took his brother in fights often in highschool, he wasn't a fighter.
He flew low under the radar in school only sort of out there being a star volleyball player with his brother. When someone wanted to fight him Atsumu always got there first.
He supposed he would've been teased for having his brother fight his battles if Tsumu didn't win every single one. But his brother and him were two sides of fight or flight.
While Tsumu stayed in the kitchen and fist fought their dad till he passed out, Osamu was getting their mama out of harms ways and dressing her wounds.
So there they were.
Yin and yang.
Fight or flight.
Love or war.
That wasn't to say Osamu couldn't protect himself. When he had gotten back from school early one day and found their dad had their mom pinned to the ground and was cutting her wrists, that's the day their dad went to jail.
He had lost it when he smelled his mother's distressed scent. He dragged his father out of the house kicking and screaming and threw him to the middle of the road. He beat him with the belt from his uniform barely registering cheering and hollering around him as the neighbors came out to see the camotion.
That night his dad was in urgent care and he was placed on 24 hour watch in a hospital. When he was released Kita-san was there with his old truck and a warm smile.
He hugged Osamu so tight and told him he did well. The beta helped him to the front seat of the car and held his hand while he drove so Osamu could cry in the peaceful presence of his upperclassman.
He drove him to a take out place and got him some food along with some for his mom and brother. When they got to the house kita held his hand like he was a frightened pup as they walked up the sidewalk.
The door opened and his brothers tired face burst into happy tears as he brought his twin into a bruising hug. He brought him inside—not letting go and scenting him like crazy— to their mom. She stood from her chair and the boys hugged their small mother.
Kits hugged both boys and promised a place to stay anytime they need it at his and his grandmother's farm.
That night Miya Mayumi fell asleep with both of her boys on either side of her protecting her. She kissed their heads and made them promise her that if anyone was ever in need they would help.
So when Onigiri Miya closes and Atsumu hugs his brother goodbye—not like the usual slap to the back of the head— he knows what he needs to do.
If he ever gets to see the omega again, he would make sure he knew he had a person to count on.
☆____________☆
It was about six in the morning when he was setting up shop for the day. He usually started later, but when he had woken up at 5 and couldn't fall back to sleep he decided to just get up. He got dressed and headed downstairs to his restaurant and unlocked the door.
He swept and mopped the floor and unloaded the rice into the cookers to get it ready for the morning. He looked at the time hoping it would be close to 8 when his usual first customer came in. An older beta couple who he had grown to adore.
6:55
'Your kidding..' He thought to himself and sighed deeply taking a seat at the counter and pulling out his phone, 'REM sleep clock is bs if it doesn't let me fuckin' sleep..'
He hear the chine of the door and whips his head up thinking the couple might be early, but instead he locks eyes with the boy he couldn't stop thinking about.
His face brightened as he saw him and he immediately stood from his seat to greet him.
"Hey!" He says with a wide smile and accidentally let's out a happy scent that has the stiff omega smiling softly and making his way over to the counter. Osamu made his way around the counter and said, "I never asked what you wanted last time so..?"
"Hello, Miya-san.." He says politely back pulling his cardigan closer, "I would like what you made last time.. it was divine." He smiled and sat up in the chair properly.
Osamu laughs and pulls out the ingredients, "With words like those I bet your a writer."
Akaashi's face lights up and he huffs a small laugh, "How could you tell?"
"Divine is almost never used outside of spiritual and romance books. Do you write one of those genres?" He smirks as he pulls out hot rice with his gloved and cleaned hands.
"Romance and manga. Do you usually phycoanalyze your customers to find out their jobs?" He says relaxing a bit and letting his cardigan not be pulled to tight to him.
"Only da' smart 'n' pretty ones!" He said with all the southern charm he could muster.
'The only thing I thank dad for.'
"Oh?" Akaashi smiles and raises an eye brow. "I didn't know there was someone else in here?"
Osamu looked up confused before he realized Akaashi was making a bad self deprecation joke. Or atleast he hoped it was joke, but by the way Akaashi's scent turned a bit sour he couldn't tell.
He let out a calming scent and continued to work, "So where'd ya go? Been gone fer some weeks.." He muttered moving away from the joke.
"Ah, missed me?" He says as the rest of the tension left his body as he took deep breaths of the wonderful calming sweet bread. He chuckled as Osamu poked a hole in a rice ball on accident and received a playful glare. He covered his mouth and said, "Sorry, sorry.. I've uh.. Just been busy.."
"Workin' as a writer real' busy?" He says curious as he placed the first onigiri down on the plate.
"Oh uh.. No I don't write anymore.." He smiled sadly.
"Why?" Osamu asked, and immediately regretted doing so as the scent he had been able to keep and playful as a child's library soured to a rotten flower, like the ones left at forgotten grave stones.
He shrugs and says, "I uh just.. didn't need to anymore.."
Osamu finishes his second onigiri quietly and mulls over what he could say to make him feel better.
"Have ya any published work'?" He says quieter hoping that this brightens his mood and doesn't make it worse.
The omega smiled softly and his scent softened to the smell of an old book left on the shelf collecting dust.
"Yeah.. I do.. I have one book. I wasn't very popular but.. I was always really proud of it." He nodded and took a bite from one of his onigiri.
He's silent for a bit working on the last onigiri before asking quietly, "What's da' name?"
"Hm?" The boy hummed and looked up from his food.
"The name of yer book. What's its name?" He says a little louder this time.
"Oh." He looks a little surprised but smile and answered, " 'Bookstore Kind of Love'.."
Osamu smirks and nods having to hold in his giggle.
"What?" The omega said putting down his food to cross his arms.
"Nothin'.." He turned around and shook in silent laughter washing his hands.
"Is something funny?" He says his scent lining with slight annoyance and insecurity.
"No it's jus'.." He turns back to the pouting boy and says, "You know you smell like a bookstore.. right? And roses.." He smiles at the boy and tilts his head.
The writer goes a little red as he presses his lips together. He looks back to his food and says picking up his food, "I.. I didn't think I still did.."
Osamu's face scrunches in confusion and he tilts his head more like a puppy.
Akaashi sighs and says quietly, "My partner always I smell like burnt paper.."
That made anger flare uncomfortably in his chest and he felt a tug in his gut. "Nah.. ya smell like a little bookstore.. the ones with candy and mostly fantasy, romance on the shelves.." He nods at his own description.
Akaashi looks up at him with rice in his mouth. He swallows and says, "Where do you find those kinds of libraries.. sounds like a dream come true.."
"Hyogo mostly, but Yokohama has some if ya got the balls to go down 'ere.."
Akaashi chuckles and snorts at his crass words as Osamu turns pink and here's his mother's voice in his head.
'OSAMU MIYA YOU SAY THAT AGAIN YOU'LL EAT YOUR TEETH, LITTLE BOY!!' He also hears Atsumu cackling in the background, but that's got Nothin' to make him mad when he swears he just heard an angel sing.
"Yer laugh is so pretty.." He speaks before he can think. He slaps his hand over his mouth and stares wide eye at the boy infront of him. Who is now propping his head up on his hands with a smirk.
"Yeah?~" the omegas scent turns sweet and Osamu grumbles as he walks to the back and hears the snorts again.
He slaps on scent patches and takes a few deep breaths.
'Oh my god he's so pretty and wonderful, how could anyone(supposedly from what Osamus put together) hurt him and not give him all the love in the–... Woah ok slow down bud.'
He steps back out into the main room and looks at the clock avoiding the omega's face and not seeing the disappointment at the scent patches.
7:46
'Damn, guess time does pass quicker when your having fun..'
He turns on the ventilation system that makes it easier for customers of all to enter and not be overwhelmed even at the busiest times if day.
He walks back over to where the omega is finishing his last onigiri. "How'd you like 'em?"
Akaashi nods wiping his mouth with a napkin. "It was excellent.. here let me–"
He goes to pull out his wallet and Osamu puts his hands up. "Nope. No need."
"Wha–.. Miya-san please.. I can't come here and eat free it'll destroy your business.."
"My brother and bes' friend have been eating here free since it first opened— even though they aren't even aloud, but! I don't mind covering for ya.. I enjoy yer company and would like ya ta' come back as much as ya can. And for you ta' do so you can't be worryin' about payin'.."
He sighs and sags his shoulders just looking at Osamu's face. He smiles and shakes his head looking down and slowly putting away his money.
"Miya-san, your to kind.." He looks back up at him after a minute and his eyes look almost teary. "How did you turn out so good and the rest of the world is shit..?"
"I had a good mama, a brother to kick my ass and keep me in place, and I tend to look for the beautiful things in life.. suppose that energy brought you here that night, eh?"
Akaashi chuckles and looks down at his feet his scent is sweet like milk chocolate cherries.
'Oh that's new.. I like it..'
Akaashi sniffs and wipes his eye quickly before looking up with a smile. "Thank you, Miya-san.." He turns to leave when Osamu speaks up.
"Akaashi-san..! Uh.. in uh.. incase your ever.. want onigiri and it's a closed day.. uh.." He pulls order note and from the front of the counter and writes on it. He walks around the counter to Akaashi. "I live right upstairs and.. we can hang out.. ok?"
He smiles softly at the omega as his eyes seemingly start to water again. He blinks away the tears and takes the note carefully in his hand and folds it gently and puts it in his pocket.
Akaashi nods and says, "Have a good day, Miya-san.."
"You may call me Osamu if you would like.." He says as Akaashi opens the door to leave.
He pauses and turns to him with a sweet smile. "You may call me Keiji then.."
"Alright, Keiji-san." He beams like a child on Christmas.
"Alright, Osamu-san. Have a good day." He chuckles and walks out the door when he's out of sight.
Osamu smiles wide and blushes brightly. He sighed wistfully and halfway skipped back to his position behind the counter.
'Why was he so happy? Was it because Akaashi- no Keiji called him his name? I did sound really pretty out of his mouth..'
His train of thought was interrupted by the beta couple that walked in. That day was the first good day he had even when customers were rude. For the first time in a long time he wasn't exhausted at the end of the long day. He was sleepy sure but not emotionally and mentally drained.
Sitting in his bed on his phone he looked up the book Akaashi wrote and if he payed fifteen extra bucks to ship it overnight so he couldread it as soon as possible..
Well that's for him to know.
☆____________☆
As much as he loved his bestfriend he also really hated him. Well not him. More like his type in men and women.
Overbearing, clingy, arrogant Alphas.
Annoying especially since Alpha and omega friendships aren't as normalized as people make it look like.
So as he stands behind the counter with Rin while they make onigiri for customers he has to deal with daggers being thrown at him via Rin's bitch of the month.
Rin always dropped by atleast once a month and he always had a new person. Him and Atsumu had actually made a joke calling him Suna Rintahoe..
He didn't find it amusing and told Kita-san on them.
Bastard.
Anyway he stands behind the counter having fun with bestie and he hears the alpha start speaking again and rolls his eyes.
He huffs as Rin leans across the counter and kisses his girlfriend. "Can ya not do that over da food? I don't want yer cooties affecting my customers."
He scrunches his face and Rin turns to him and sticks his tongue out at him. "You need a partner man.. I think your growing into an lonely elderly man."
He jokes and pokes the alpha's side.
"Nah ya and Tsumu won' let me be completely alone. Shame, really."
Rin barks a laugh and goes back to forming the rice balls as the annoying female alpha starts talking again glaring and acting smug towards Osamu.
'Jeez what a loser..'
Osamu thinks and looks away unbothered. Him and Rin had, had their go around already. Dating all of third year, some courting in early college, but eventually his flavor seemed to get old to Rin just like the rest.
He dumped him, but he refused to lose his bestfriend so he stayed or disappeared when Osamu needed him to, so he would be able to work through it.
"Soo Osa-san–"
"Don't call me that."
"–do you have an omega of your own?" The witch infront of him dug for information with her fucking claws.
"Nope." He punctuates by popping his 'P' and sets the platter of rice balls out on the order table. "Haven't had time with running this place."
Rin smiles fondly and shakes his head, "Workaholic. Seriously you need to loose up! I thought you got rid of the gray hair? Why bring it back?" He teased and prodded his side again this time for forceful.
"Aye!" He hits Rins hand with a towel and the start to laugh before he hears a growl from the other side of the counter.
He looks up quickly at the irritated alpha infront of him and snaps, "Knock it off yer scarin' ma customers!"
She didn't stop and Rin quickly walked around the table and enticed her outside. When he came back he brushed his hands together and said, "Done! Phew! Now I don't have to explain sleeping arrangements."
He just broke up with her. It wa start easy for him. Every time Osamu hears him or sees him break up with someone he wonders if it was that easy with him.
"Mm good riddance. You need to get a better type. Like betas or a large omega.." He shakes his head and chuckles as Rins face deadpans. "Anything but–" He motions to the door,"–That."
"Ok, ok! I get it! In the last 6 years I've dated one good alpha." He walks around behind Osamu running his hand across his wide shoulders and teasing his scent, "ain't that right, Samu?~
Osamu shivers and pokes him when he gets back to his right side. "Ya'know ye're prob'bly the reason yer partners never fuckin' like me." He says bonking him on the head.
Suna rolls his eyes and and grabs his hand off the top of his head as the last customers exited the shop, for afternoon closing.
He ran his hand up his arm and wrapped a gentle hand on the back of his neck. The other hand he slowly ran up his chest and rested it on his right pec. "What they think don't matter.."
He purred and released his sweet scent when the workers left for break. Carmel tinted with eucalyptus reached his nose and he closed his eyes. "They are just temporary.. you arent.."
Osamu put his hands on Rins waist and pushed back slightly to keep him from pulling them together, "Rin.. No."
"Osa–" the door rings before he can step back, when he looked up he saw Akaashi standing wide eyed at the door.
Rin let out a quiet growl and looked at the omega taht just interrupted them.
Osamu pulls away from Rin and both of them talk at the same time.
"We are closed from 1 to 2–"
"Keiji-kun glad you could make it!–"
They look to eachother and Rin scrunches his face up. Osamu looks away first and walks around the counter to Akaashi.
"Hey Keiji-kun.." He helps him out of his trench coat and hangs it up for him on the coat rack.
"Hello, Osamu-san. I apologize for intruding I didn't know you closed at 1.." Osamu walks him up to the counter a hand hovering near the small of his back.
Before Osamu could answer and ease his worry Rin spoke up with bite in his voice, "Maybe you should check times before going some place next time."
Osamu looks at Rin and shakes his head. "Keiji-kun, this is Suna Rintarou. Remember I told you my bestfriend who never pays."
Osamu releases calming scent towards Rin to get him to stop stinking up the place with the smell of bad weed from his scent glands. Akaashi shrinked back a bit and sat to straight in his chair to try and get out of the smell.
"H-hello Suna-san, it's wonderful to meet you." He tries to not make a face at the stench Suna let off but it was burning his nostrils. He glanced between the two and cleared his throat.
"Would you knock it off with that?" Osamu pokes Rins side and walks over to the ventilation to turn it up to high. "Your gonna make this place smell all of weed.."
Rin rolls his eyes and grabs a pack of scent patches from behind the counter and slaps them on, reluctantly.
Osamu shakes his head as he pulls out rice and starts to form Akaashi's food. "Oh! Keiji I read yer book. It was wonderful!"
He says gently forming the first onigiri as Akaashi's eyes widen and his smile goes wide. His scent picks up and becomes sweet like roses and he relaxes and sits forward. "Yeah? You liked it?"
"Oh, ya, it was v'ry interesting. I honestly didn't know who he'd end up with in the end." He chuckled, "it felt like a mysterious at points.."
Akaashi smiled brightly and his scent changed again to a sweet chocolatey smell. Rin scowled but git distracted at his phone which buzzed. He grimaced and patted Osamu's back in apology before he walked to the back and answered his phone.
Akaashi watches him as he walks to the back and smirks at Osamu when the other omega is out of ear shot, "Bestfriend? Eh?"
He wiggles his eyebrows and shimmies his shoulders suggestively. Osamu glared at his friend with a red face. "No." He went back to shaping the onigiri.
"Wh–" Keiji's shoulders sagged, "why not? You two were all on eachother when I got here?" He said almost exasperated.
"Because I.." He sighed and put the next peice of onigiri on the plate. "Listen.. me and him already tried it out.. third year of highschool and a couple years into college.. but he.."
Akaashi nodded in understanding and whispers, "..He ended things..?"
Osamu nods and whispers back, "I think.. he wants to try again but.. I just.. I love him but he's too flighty.. and I don't want to get hurt again.." He mutters.
Akaashi nods and mutter, "Yeah I understand that.. love hurts sometimes.." He looks down at his plate now filled with four onigiri.
Osamu puts his hand over his on the counter and says, "it's not always supposed to.."
Akaashi meets his eyes and his eyes start to water a bit. He shifts his hand and turns his over to hold Osamu's large, warm hand. He runs a calloused thumb over the soft knuckles and squeezes his hand lightly. He pulls his hand away and turns to wash them in the sink from the rice stick.
Rin walked back into the room and seemed more relaxed now. He sat on the stool infront of Akaashi and stole one of his onigiri. Akaashi chuckles and says, "you cam have another to if you would like.. but this one–" He grabbed his second one and pulled it protectively to him, "–is mine."
Suna kept the easy smile on his face but narrowed his eyes. "Mm.."
"I can make more it y'all want–"
"No, no I can learn to share with, Akaashi-san.." He said in a fakey kind tone with a shit eating grin on his face.
'If they could smell him he'd probably smell bitter' Akaashi thinks as he smiles back politely putting food in his mouth.'I understand.. if I had an alpha like Osamu.. I'd probably be worse.'
Speaking of alpha his phone starts to ring and he picks it up to look and goes pale at the text sent to him. Osamu walked around the counter and said softly, "Hey what's wrong.."
"I.. I uh.. I have to go home." He says in a wavering voice looking to Osamu with the same sad smile he say the first day he met Akaashi.
Osamu nods and rubs a hand over his back gently in a calming motion.
"Uhm.." He says dumbly swallowing a scared sob. He looks to Suna and nodded, "I was nice to meet you, Suna-san..
Suna smiled back patronizingly and does a little wave. Osamu walks him to the door and grabs his coat for him.
"Keiji.."
Akaashi stops his movements to leave when Osamu whispered his name. "Hm..?"
"If I let you go.. will you be ok..?"
Akaashi turns to him and smiles reassuringly to the kind alpha. "Yeah.. I'll be ok.." He patted his chest and glanced towards Suna saying in breaking tone, "don't leave him out of here because of fear.. he might be the love of your life.."
He smiled and walked out the door. He walked quickly and when he no longer felt eyes on him he whimpered and stopped mid step. He leaned against the wall and fought every instinct to turn back.
To run to the alpha in the restaurant.
To take the shelter offered in his arms.
He can't.
Osamu is the only one not pushed away because of Takime.
He wasn't going to lose him too.
Not like Konoha, who Takime pushed out of their apartment with his overwhelming scent.
Not like Bokuto, who Takime made him cut all contact with and tell to leave when he came to check on him.
Not like his friends from Nekoma who tried to get him out but failed to convince him he wasn't loved.
Not like Tsukishima who though feigned indifference about most people, yelled at Akaashi for staying before saying he wasn't going to answer his phone again until Akaashi said he wanted to leave.
Takime blocked and deleted his number.
He wasn't losing Osamu. Not even if Takime beat him to death. He wasn't going to lose the alpha his soul connected to.
He swore on his life.
