Chapter Start
“Arrrrgggghhhh!” Danny screamed as Vlad’s machine was trying to force him to transform so that it would be able to get his mid-morph DNA. He did his best to resist its attempt as he made sure his transformation rings didn't fully go over his body. He didn't know at what point Vlad needed his transformation rings needed to go but since the old Fruitloop hadn't started gloating, he was sure that he was doing it right by trying to force the rings to stay as close to each other as he could.
{Subject is resisting, Sweetness.} came the peppy voice of Vlad’s Hologram AI that had the appearance of Maddie Fenton.
Vlad watched as the young halfa continued to defy him, even when he had already lost. Ignoring the screams of pain, he looked to his AI. “increase the power.”
{Increasing power.}
A display showed the increase of specified energy used to force Danny to transform. The electrical sparks were flying and the machine was pulling in more power from the Ecto generator that Vlad had set up for his lab.
“YYYYYAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRHHHHH~” Danny almost lost concentration since the pain he was feeling was more prominent now. But despite how much pain his body was going through, he would resist. Not only out of the need to stop Vlad from creating a clone for his own twisted purposes but also out of sheer principle.
{Subject continues to resist, pumpkin.} AI Maddie brought up a hologram scroll of paper before trying to get Vlad to look elsewhere
Vlad grit his teeth as he was finding the young Daniel’s resistance annoying at worst and infuriating at best. “Increase the power to the maximum level!”
AI Maddie looked at Vlad as she brought up some concerns. {Sweetness, there is a possibility the subject may deteriorate if exposed to such levels.}
“I don't care! The moment we have access to the mid-morph sample, he will be obsolete. I will have no use for the original and all the previous attempts will just be a faded memory. Useless failures couldn't even get what I wanted in time.” He smirked at the thought of finally getting what he wanted. “I will finally have the perfect son, and with his support, Maddie will be mine soon enough.”
The power output was increased to the maximum and Danny’s screams of pain were drowned out by the whirring, humming, and electrical bolts shooting out of the machine.
Danny could feel the pain at his very core and wasn't sure if this was the second or third worst pain he had felt in his life. He still considered his first time dying was still the top, and his fight with Pariah Dark is another big one. ‘I’m…..gonna beat…….this,....... You…… damn Fruitloop!!!’ He continued to suppress his transformation rings and just hoped that the machine broke or short-circuited or SOMETHING!
Unknown to Vlad or Danny, what the older Halfa said was heard by one of the clones he was so ready to toss aside and forget.
Danielle was tapping her foot on the ground as she waited in the room that Vlad had told her to stay in. She was anxious about many things.
Her potential melting like the other clones after a time.
Vlad’s promise to help stabilize her
But what got her the most was what was going on in the other room.
She pushed herself off the wall and began pacing around the room as she wasn't sure if she was anxious about the procedure that would save her, or if it was guilt for what she did to Danny. When she first popped up in Danny’s room, she was already thinking of how she would trick him into lowering his guard and take him to Vlad. Yet when she started spending time with him, she slowly started to lose the urge to betray him.
He actually spent time with her, playing games, and fighting some low-level ghosts, he even gave her a tour of the town before they ended up at the Nasty Burger where they ended up seeing who could eat the most. She smiled as she remembered how they ordered the same thing and even ate in the same order. It was funny how they got into a competition to see who would finish first, which led to the previously mentioned contest. She was so distracted that she finished her task much later than Vlad wanted.
Overall, she had fun hanging out with him.
Her mind went to how Vlad would use the Mid-morph DNA to fix her and make a perfect clone of Danny. ‘Maybe the clone will hang out with me too.’ Despite how she had that thought, it didn't seem right at all. It would be Danny, but it wouldn't be the Danny she had spent time with. ‘Maybe I can tell Dad that we don't need to get rid of him. Maybe we can convince him to be on Dad’s side.’ She shoved her hands under her arms as she continued to pace as she wanted to apologize to Danny. Thinking that she could try to do that and convince Vlad not to hurt Dany too much, she began to walk toward the wall that led to the room Vlad and Danny were in. She paused as she remembered that Vlad told her to stay in this room. Her mind was going back and forth between what Vlad told her and what she wanted to do for Danny, she stared at the wall, wondering if it was ok for her to do that.
The room was soundproof, even for her enhanced hearing so she had no idea what was going on inside.
She stared at the wall for a few more seconds before she convinced herself that it wouldn't hurt to go in and get it over with. Going intangible, she flew into the air before phasing through the wall.
The first thing that hit her was the screams of pain that came from Danny. She looked over to where it came from to see Danny screaming. The sight hurt her as she immediately wanted to stop whatever the machine was that was hurting him. But it was what she heard Vlad say that caused her to freeze in the air
“I don't care! The moment we have access to the mid-morph sample, he will be obsolete. I will have no use for the original and all the previous attempts will just be a faded memory. Useless failures couldn't even get what I wanted in time.”
She was wide-eyed hearing that Vlad had no plan of saving her or even cared about her in the first place. ‘What was I even working toward? Why did I do all this if he wasn't even going to care about what happened to me?’ She felt her eyes water as her father had basically made her only to die for what he really wanted.
Vlad went to the console and began to find any way to get the machine to work on getting the transformation to complete. When he saw that it was working full force on this, he began to find alternate ways to extract the sample he needed. He began to focus the energy to a single point in order to get the ghost side to come out.
“HYAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!~”
Her eyes went to Danny, whose back was arched in his struggle to keep his transformation rings down. ‘He was nice to me, he cared about me, we had fun together.’
Danny’s eyes cracked open to give a glare to Vlad, making a mental note to pay the Fruitloop back for this. His eyes shifted to the corner of the room and saw Dani floating there with a look of heartbreak. Despite his screams of pain, he had heard what Vlad said and his negligence of Dani or the other clones. ‘He made them, they were alive. They may have been mindless, but they were still here! They existed! And he doesn’t care! What about Dani?! She is the most alive out of all of them! AND HE WILL LET HER DIE JUST FOR HIS OWN SELFISH DESIRE!’ His eyes glowed green as he now altered his action, to not only keep the rings from completing, but to channel what little Ecto Energy he had access to into his body. He began to pull against his restraints as his energy was spiraling out of control within him.
His energy was being forced to make him transform, keep him from transforming, and now augment his strength. Thanks to this, his core was pulsing at a rapid pace as it was being put through too much stress.
Vlad saw that Danny was trying to break from his restraints and only rolled his eyes. “Oh, please, Danial.” He input a command into the computer and the restraints pulled him back.
AI Maddie read the results of her scan of Danny and turned to Vlad. {Readings are fluctuating. Possible failure of extraction possible.}
Vlad focused on the screen in front of him as he ignored what AI Maddie said. He was so close to getting what would lead to him getting everything he deserved.
As Danny’s arms were pulled back, a large arch of energy struck him in the chest, causing him to scream once more.
Dani couldn't take it. She couldn't take the sight of Danny being in pain. ‘No more.’ She felt her eyes water more as not only did the knowledge of Vlad allowing her to melt without a care but also the only one that was nice to her was in pain because of her. Her hands lit up green before she pulled them back over her head as she arched backwards. “NO MORE!” She threw her hands forward as she sent a large double-palmed Ecto-ray at the machine.
The ray hit the machine just below Danny, causing the energy inside the machine to go haywire before the machine began to explode.
Vlad covered his face with his arm before looking to where the blast came from. His eyes flared brighter red when he saw who it was. “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!”
Dani turned her teary eyes at Vlad. “How's that for a useless failure?!”
Vlad’s eyes went wide as he did not believe that she would have heard him say that. However, his shock vanished soon after, replaced by rage. “You should have melted earlier so I wouldn't have you interfere with my plans!” In movement too fast for her to see, he appeared in front of her before backhanding her to the ground.
“YAAAH!” she crashed to the ground from the hit and held her face in pain. She didn't have time to dwell on that long as she had to bring up a shield in order to block the Ecto ray sent at her.
Vlad floated down and walked up to the dome that the little failure was under. “You existed to serve me ! This just hastens my need to get rid of you.” He lifted his hand lit up in energy, ready to shatter the dome and finish her off. He could already see her starting to melt due to using her energy, but it was not fast enough for him. He brought his hand down, ready to kill her, until. “GAH!” he was hit in the head by a powerful blow, one that sent him flying. Crashing into the wall, he looked back and saw Danny standing at the ready over the clone.
Danny was heaving, barely standing on wobbly legs, straining to keep his heavy arms up, and seeing anything through his blurry vision. Thankfully, Vlad wearing a white cape in this mostly red and purple lab was a big help in aiming. “What’s wrong, Vlad? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.” He looked at the little girl that was looking up at him in shock. “Take it easy and leave this to me.”
Dani looked down to the ground to see that some ecto goo was coming out of her back. She pulled back her shield and the goo disappeared. Once she felt that she was safer for now, she nodded, confirming that she would let him do what he can do.
Danny smiled at her before glaring at Vlad.
Vlad scoffed as he could clearly see that Danny didn't have enough energy for any kind of fight. “Oh, please, Daniel, you can barely survive our encounters when you are at your best, what do you think you can do when you can barely stand on your own.” He gave a fanged smirk as he brought his hand up and lit it up in Ecto energy.
Danny hated how right Vlad was but he was not going to let the Fruitloop win in any way. “Maybe, but I have one move that I know is gonna ruin your day.” He looked back at Dani and softly spoke. “Cover your ears.” Turning back to Vlad, he took the biggest inhale he could manage, channeled his energy, and let loose.
“OowOowOowOowOowOowOowOowOowOowOowOowOowOowOowOow”
Dani was glad she had listened to him as the sound that came out of his mouth would have shattered her eardrums, and even now she wasn't sure they didn't already.
Vlad was hit head-on by the attack and he brought his hands to his ears to try and muffle the sound. He fell to his knees as he felt the waves of energy begin to burn every part of him. Every wave of sound was like he was being hit by one of the Ghost King’s weakest attacks. That is still something most ghosts would not be able to handle. ‘How can Daniel have this much power?!’ He felt himself being pushed off the ground before but didn't have the chance to steady himself. He was sent flying toward the wall before crashing into it. He tried to push himself off the wall but was forced back as he heard the wall crack behind him.
AI Maddie appeared next to him. {systems failing, backup power interrupted… *bbbzzzzzzzt*, cognitive files *bbbzzzt~* corrupted. Rerouting *bzzt* to *bzzt*.... Sec *bzzt* -tems. *bzzzzzzzt* -----} She fizzed out as pieces of the ceiling began to fall.
Danny kept up his attack as he looked through squinted eyes at how he was destroying the lab. He didn't want to take any more chances as he wanted to make sure nothing here was able to keep up.
Deep within him, his core’s pulsing had sped up so fast that it had become a humming instead. It began to vibrate till a couple of cracks appeared with power shining through.
Vlad didn't get the chance to do anything else as the wall behind him gave way and he flew through the new hole and into the other room as pieces of the ceiling in the next room fell on top of him.
Danny felt the last of his power leave him as one last wave of sound left his mouth and he fell to his knees as he heaved in any air he could. He was so tired that he couldn't hear Dani calling him.
Dani was standing in front of Danny as she held his shoulders. He looked so out of it that it was like he was sleepwalking. “Danny! Are you ok?! Danny!” She shook him to get him to snap out of it. She heard some cracking and looked up to see that a piece of the ceiling began to fall on top of them. She yelped before she pushed him out of the way. The two rolled before they were stopped by rolling into one of the purple pods that fell to the ground.
The roll and hit snapped Danny out of his daze and he shook his head. He brought his hand up and grabbed the edge of something to lift himself up. He sat up and held his head as he felt so out of it from being forced to transform, and then using his Ghostly Wail. he draped his arm on the edge of what he was leaning on before he laid his head on it. His vision cleared and his eyes widened when he saw that in the pod was one of his clones, one that was starting to melt.
The clone woke up from the explosions and collapsing room in time to see he was in a pod. He was about to move when he felt something wrong happening to his body. He looked down to see that he was melting. He felt himself be taken over by fear as his legs melted away before the goo that it became evaporated. He looked up and saw himself, another him, looking down in shock. He held his hand out as if asking for help. The other him grabbed his outstretched hand and held it tight. He looked into the other’s eyes as he already understood what was happening. He was dying, melting, losing his chance to exist. His torso began to melt and held tighter on the other’s hand and couldn't help but be thankful. Thankful to not be alone in this final moment. He gave a fearful smile as his hand melted just before his head began to do the same. “.......thank you.”
Danny watched as the clone melted and lowered his head in sadness at how he watched someone to…..fade in such a way. He felt a hand on his shoulder and looked at Dani.
“Danny?”
He brought her into a hug and held her close. He knew that Dani could end up like that and he didn't want that. ‘I gotta find a way to make sure she doesn't end up like him.’ He pulled back and smiled at her before he put a hand on his knee and tried to push himself up, only for his energy to fail and he collapsed on the ground.
“Danny!”
He held up his hand to stop her from worrying about him too much. “I’m ok, I just used way too much power.” Despite how he said that, he felt like his whole body was burning.
Before either of them could think of anything else, the whole building began to shake with chunks of the ceiling falling down.
Dani grew worried as she saw that the whole place was collapsing. “Danny!”
Danny tried to get up from the ground but his hand slipped off his knee and fell back to the ground. “Damn it!”
Dani saw how bad he was and just acted. She grabbed him by the shoulders and flew them toward the wall, turning them intangible. She felt her energy leaving her rapidly and she figured that she was risking her life with this small action. She was relieved that they were able to get out of the building and into the woods but she lost control and fell to the ground, causing the two to roll into a tree. They both looked back to see that the mansion was collapsing.
Danny blinked in surprise as he saw how much damage his wail did to the building.
He gulped in some air before he slowly got up to his feet. “Let’s head to my place for now. We can get some rest there and think of a place for you to stay.”
Dani tilted her head as she wondered about what he meant. “Why can't I stay with you?”
Danny chuckled softly as he began to limp toward the pathway that used to lead up to the mansion. It is the best way to back home despite how it would take them a long time before they even got anywhere close to it.
Dani walked next to him as she asked. “Why don't we fly there?”
Danny shook his head as he pointed at himself. “I’m out of power and wouldn't be able to fly at all-” He then gestured to her. “And I don't want you to use your powers since we don't know how much more you could use your powers till you could possibly start melting. We need to conserve power till we find a way to stabilize you.”
Dani looked at her hands before he clenched them and had to agree to what he said. She didn't want to melt like the other clones. Closing her eyes, she transformed back to her human half. She felt better after doing so but when she looked at Danny, she wondered why he was still in his ghost form. “Hey, Danny, why don't you transform back?”
Danny blinked at her question and looked down at himself. He realized that he was still Phantom and wondered why he hasn't transformed back yet, especially after using the Ghostly wail. ‘Maybe I was able to save enough energy to allow me to stay in this form?’ His thoughts were unsure but he didn't know what else it could be. He was about to transform back to human when he was suddenly hit in the back of the head by something metal. *Clang* “ow!” He rubbed the back of his head and looked down at the item that hit him. He bent down and picked up the Booooo~merang. It was then that he heard the roaring of engines and looked up to see that the Specter speeder coming down.
Dani didn't know what it was and moved a few steps behind Danny.
When the speeder parked in front of the two, the door opened to reveal Sam holding it open, with a hard glare at them.
Danny winced at the look as he could only guess what was the reason for it. It was to his surprise that he saw Tucker through the windshield and looking angry at him as well. He opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted.
“Do you have any idea how much trouble we are in because of you?!”
Danny held up his hands in surrender. “Woah, wait, what did I do?”
Tucker came out of the Speeder as he pointed at him. “We are gonna get detention for the rest of the school year because we had to come here and save you.”
Danny winced at that as he didn't know that they went through so much for him. “Sorry, guys, Vlad just id another plan and-”
“Oh shut it.”
Danny clamped his mouth shut as Sam interrupted him with a look that would have killed him completely.
Sam let out a sigh as she threw her thumb over her shoulder, gesturing to the Specter speeder. “Just get in. We’re already in trouble so we should just get back.”
Danny and Dani got into the Specter Speeder and sat in the passenger seats while Sam and Tucker sat in the pilot seats.
As they were flying back, Sam asked them in an exasperated tone. “So, what was his scheme this time?”
Danny leaned his head back as he ran his gloved hand over his face. “You know those weird ghosts we had to deal with in the last few days?”
Tucker grumbled at that as he was the one to respond. “You mean the ones that you had to deal with while we were left to clean up after you and the mess you made?”
Danny groaned. “I said I was sorry about that. It's not like I can stick around since if I do, the idiots in white would show up. Or my parents and they would just make it much worse than it was.”
Sam turned in her seat to look at him. “Maybe, but we are getting tired having to deal with all the backlash while you get to do the fun part.”
Danny covered his eyes with his hand as he was mentally groaning. ‘Fun part she says. Like me getting blasted, electrocuted, and hunted by everyone is fun .’ He felt a hand on his free arm and looked to his left to see Dani giving him a reassuring smile. He smiled back before he slumped forward and allowed himself to relax. Though that still wasn't much as his body felt strained. He looked at his hand and figured that he should transform back into human in order to conserve energy. He closed his eyes and let out a breath as he focused on the spot in the center of his chest in order to get his transformation rings back up to turn back. After a second, he opened his eyes as he realized that he was having trouble bringing them out. He furrowed his brow as he didn't understand why it was difficult for him to do so when just twenty minutes ago, he had control over it to make sure Vlad didn't get the chance of getting whatever he wanted. He clenched his fist as he tried again. It took him a minute but his rings appeared and split as they turned him back. They moved much slower than normal but he guessed it had to do with the strain he was in. Once he was human, he felt all his energy leave him and he leaned back, with his head lying against the wall. He was out like a light in a matter of seconds.
Dani smiled at the sight of him finally relaxing and falling asleep. She moved closer and leaned her head on his side as she felt like getting some sleep as well.
While the two halfas fell asleep in their seats, the two humans were in the front, still pissed off at how they were left to take all the blame for what Danny did. In their heads, Danny gets all the fun, while they get all the grunt work. It was unfair and they were getting tired of it
When the Specter Speeder landed back in the lab, Danny had woken up and immediately noticed they had returned. He couldn't help but feel relieved to see that he was home since he was tired and wanted to crash on his bed. It was a second later, he remembered that Dani shouldn't be found by his parents as they would not hesitate in destroying or experimenting on her. He felt a weight on his side and looked to see her sleeping on him. He thought she looked cute sleeping on his side and had a bit of drool coming out of her mouth but he became alert when he heard some shouting coming from outside the Speeder. He knew them to be that of his parents and panicked. He shook her shoulder in order to wake her up. In a harsh whisper, he called out to her. “Dani. Dani!”
Dani slowly opened her eyes and blinked a few times before looking up at Danny. It took her a minute for her brain to catch up as saw he was panicked. Once it clicked in her head that Danny was worried, she immediately grew alert at what might be the issue. Before she could ask, he spoke.
“You need to head to my room invisibly.” Was his harsh whisper as he looked toward the door as he heard his parents banging on the speeder door.
Dani figured out what the issue was and she nodded. She got up from her seat and tried to turn on her invisibility, but she felt something on the floor and looked down before she covered her mouth with her hands and let out a small squeak. Coming out of her feet were a few puddles of Ectoplasm.
Danny saw that Dani was close to melting using her powers. Growing worried, he bent down, put his hands on her shoulders and brought her eyes to his. “Breath, reel in your powers.” He smiled when he saw her do so and closed her eyes as the goop under her was re-absorbed. His good mood immediately dropped when another bang was heard on the Speeder door and he reacted on instinct. He wrapped his arms around Dani, transformed and went invisible and Intangible as he flew up through the speeder and lab ceiling to head to his room.
It was then that Jack Fenton came in through the door and looked toward the pilot seats to see the two remaining teens. He gave them a hard look as he crossed his arms. “You two are in so much trouble.”
Sam and Tucker frowned before glaring at the ceiling as they were mad that Danny had abandoned them to take all the heat.
Danny came up into his room, landed on the ground, and put Dani down as he pressed himself on his door and listened to anything that would tell him if his parents were coming toward his room. He heard some shouting coming from his parents toward Sam and Tucker, but he knew that if he went out now, he would just make it worse. “I'm gonna have to make it up to them later- Wait!” He realized that he could help them out now. He looked at Dani and smiled. “Wait here for a minute.” He went invisible and intangible before he flew downstairs.
Dani wondered what Danny was gonna do but she knew that he was going to help out his friends. She couldn't help but smile knowing that Danny cares about those he is close to. Something in her wanted that to be her too. She wanted to be closer to him as well so that he would show her more care.
After a few minutes, Danny phased back into his room, transformed back, and leaned against the wall. “Whew, that fight with Vlad took more out of me than I thought.” He slid down and sat against his door and placed his arms on his propped up legs. He shut his eyes and leaned his head on his arms in order to get some rest. He let out a sigh as he felt his body feel exhausted, even using the small amount of powers to overshadow his mother and teacher to get Sam and Tucker out of trouble made him feel like he went a few rounds against Skulker, Ember, and Vlad. He was thankful that he didn't need to overshadow his father since all he had to say was that the damage meant he could make the Speederr better or make a better, bigger one. Safe to say, he was ready to just fall asleep. That thought was interrupted when he felt something crawl into his lap and he opened his eyes to see a set of green eyes looking up at him.
He blinked three times.
She blinked three times.
He stuck his tongue out at her.
She stuck her tongue at him.
He blew air at her.
She blew air at him.
The two ended up laughing at each other before he stretched out his legs as she sat on his lap and looked up at him.
Danny smiled at her before he tilted his head to hear anything beyond his door. With his enhanced hearing, he realized that Sam and Tucker were no longer in the building, neither was Mr. Lancer. And with the banging and sounds of welding told him that his parents were now in the lab working on something else. Most likely his father doing what he said and working on the new speeder with his mother joining him to make sure he didn't blow anything up. With that, he knew they were safe and looked back at Dani who was looking at him with a confused look. “What do you say we call it a night and get some sleep?”
Dani liked that idea as she was tired. Despite how she still had energy to go off and do whatever she wanted, she did want to put this day behind her as she first betrayed Danny, found out Vlad didn't care for her, saved Danny, fought Vlad, and was now here. So, Mentally, she was tired. “Ok.” She got off him to let him get up and they made their way to the bed.
Danny gestured at the bed. “You can sleep in it tonight. Tomorrow we can figure out what to do with……. All of this.
Dani looked at the bed and back to Danny. She pouted as she didn't want to trouble him any more than she already did. Transforming, she floated up, grabbed his arm, and pulled him onto the bed.
“Woah!” He fell onto the bed and was about to say something when he saw the flash of light, signifying that she had transformed back into her human form. He felt her grabbed his shirt and she snuggled into him. He looked down to see her smiling up at him and he shrugged as he didn't know what to do in this situation. He was too tired and he figured that he should just let her do what she wants. She had gone through a lot. He laid his head down and closed his eyes as he just chose to get some sleep. He winced when something in his chest ached but he just chose to ignore it.
Dani smiled as she held onto Danny. She enjoyed this, much more than anything she had in her short existence.
Sam and Tucker were making their way home, both still mad at Danny for letting them take the heat for what he had done.
Sam crossed her arms as she grumbled. “I can't believe that Danny just threw us under the bus like that!”
Tucker shook his head. “He’s been doing this a lot recently. HE goes off to have some fun, we are the ones that have to clean up his mess.” He tapped on his PDA as he had a checklist of all the times they were in trouble. He has a checklist of many things, including the times he was bullied by any of the A-listers.
Though, he hadn’t updated that one in a long time.
Sam huffed as they made it to the corner of a street where the two would go their different ways. “Honestly, why are we even friends with him if he is just gonna toss us aside for his ghost hunting?”
Tucker thought about it for a second before he answered. “We’ve been friends for years?” It came out as a question as he was starting to question it himself thanks to Sam’s question.
Their anger from current events was blinding them to how Danny had also made sacrifices in order to do what he does.
Sam and Tucker may fight, but they aren't the ones talking the hits. They aren't the ones that are sacrificing study hours in order to make sure others are safe. They may stay up late, but they still get to have many hours of sleep.
Danny is sacrificing much more than they realized.
And their anger was causing them to be petty.
Sam wanted to let this argument go as she figured that thinking about it would cause them to be more angry. Despite this, she let out a curt. “I’ll see you later.” Before walking toward her home.
Tucker nodded as he put his PDA in his pocket as he walked toward his house, which wasn't that far away.
Dani’s soft breathing was the only thing heard in the room as she was sleeping very comfortably on the bed. But, she was brought out of her sleep when her head bonked onto the bed. She blearily blinked open her eyes and wondered if Danny had moved. She groaned as she didn't want to get up but she looked up to see if Danny was moving. It was to her confusion to see that he was still in the bed. She blinks a few times before her eyes widened when she realized what she was looking at. “Danny! Danny!” She shook him in order to wake him up faster.
Danny groaned as he heard Dani and felt her shaking him. “Dani….. What is it?”
Dani jumped off the bed and pointed at him. “Danny! What happened?!”
Danny looked at her with squinting eyes. “What is it?”
“Look at yourself!”
Danny groaned as he wasn't in the mood for anything other than sleep. He got up and moved over to the edge of the bed. His mind was still so sleepy that he didn't realize anything different. He trudged his way toward his mirror next to his closet to see what it was Dani was so worried about.
Dani, though, couldn't handle how slow he was moving and moved to push him back. She put her hands on his shoulders and pushed him forward.
“Woah- hey!” He was startled by her pushing him forward and it was then that something seemed off to him when she put her hands on his shoulders while her feet were still on the ground. He almost fell forward when they stopped and he looked forward to see the mirror. It was when his eyes landed on his reflection that he realized what was wrong.
Instead of the normal teen that he was supposed to see when he usually looked into a mirror, he had shrunken down, to about the size of Dani. That would explain why she was able to push him from the shoulders while on the ground. But not only that…..
He was in his ghost form.
“What the hell!” He stepped back in shock, only to trip on his feet and fall back. When he did, he accidentally sent out an ecto blast from his hand and left a scorch mark on the ceiling.
*BRRRR BRRRR BRRRR*
~Lab~
Maddie was using a blowtorch on a large piece of equipment while thinking about what it would be used for.
The piece of equipment was a prototype of a portable cage gun. The reason that they were making it was due to how the thermos was too slow to use in order to capture a ghost for them to study. The thermos, when they first made it, didn't work, and it only started working randomly after some time. But the thing was that they discovered that ghosts were able to get out of the beam and, at times, dodge it. So now, Maddie was trying to make a gun that creates a cage or a binding made of energy to keep the ghost in place so they could transport it to their lab.
She had thought about using a net launcher with their Fenton Fisher line but they tested it out and it was that same issue as the Thermos.
It was too slow. Yes, they could capture some of the animal ghosts since they didn't have much intelligence, but if they wanted to capture their number one target; Phantom, they needed to have it move faster.
So she was working on a gun, about half the size of the bazooka, to get the ecto energy they use to become malleable, like rubber. This was just a prototype so improvements will be made.
Jack was working on the speeder, going through the wiring in order to get an idea of how to make a better one. Sure, they had the blueprints, but Jack forgot where they put them so he just went through the machine itself.
*BRRRR BRRR BRRRR*
The two popped their heads up from their work when they heard the alarm.
Jack looked at his wife while pulling up his goggles that had some ecto liquid on them. “Remind me what that alarm is for? I know it's not the one to tell us that we are out of fudge.”
Maddie immediately knew what it was and stood up, getting serious. “That’s the ghost alarm. It means there is a ghost in the household!” She pulled out her Ecto gun and set it to max power for maximum damage.
Jack grew excited at the idea of a ghost they could capture and bolted to the right before coming back with the Fenton Bazooka. “Almost as good! Come on, Mads! Let’s tear apart that ghost molecule by molecule!”
Maddie turned to Jack and smirked as they readied their weapons
Maddie paused a few steps away from her work and looked at the prototype she was working on. She thought about taking it with her so she could use it but she shook her head as it was not ready.
Jack popped his head back into the lab as he called out. “You coming?!”
She shook her head before joining Jack. Both were eager to find the ghost that made its way into their home and potentially capture it before prepping it for dissection.
Danny was panicking as he knew what the alarm meant. “My parents are gonna be here any second!”
Danni was covering her ears as the alarm was loud. “What are we gonna do!?”
Danny turned his head toward Dani and realized that she was in the most danger as she was not meant to be here. “Dani, you need to hide!”
Dani tilted her head as she wasn't sure why she had to hide. She opened her mouth in order to ask but….
Danny heard the footsteps of his parents coming up the stairs and knew he had seconds. “NOW!”
Dani jumped at his yell and went invisible, just in time too, as the door burst open with the Fenton adults pointing their guns.
“Freeze, ghost!” Jack Fenton shouted as high as he could as he was ready to shoot at the next thing that moved.
Maddie though, was more level headed and aimed at the figure in the room.
Danny was still in panic mode and shouted out. “Guys, wait! It’s me! It’s Danny!” His call went ignored as Maddie began to shoot at him. He jumped to the side to avoid another volley of shots. He came to a stop when a shot landed in front of him and he turned his head to see his father aiming at him now. With his nerves still running amok, he pulled on his transformation and did what he could to turn back human. He was able to transform back into his human form, but much to the shock of all those in the room, he was still small. He looked down at himself, still in shock, He couldn't help but grumble to himself that his clothes were now oversized. “Great.” He looked back to his parents and saw them lower their guns and he smiled at how they wouldn't fire at him anymore.
Maddie eyed the boy in front of her and her mind went over what she had see. The small Phantom look alike, just changed to look like a smaller Danny. He looked exactly like how Danny did when he was ten or so. She thought about what she knew about Phantom and her son and some things started to link together in her head and she couldn't help but imagine a few things.
Danny let out a breath as he saw his mother no longer aiming at him. He saw his father blinking at him in shock and he could only imagine what was going through his mind. His shoulders relaxed and was about to move over to his bed in order to sit down only for his eyes to widen in shock as Maddie lifted her gun up again and sent a shot at him. He ducked under the shot and rolled to the side as Jack began to fire once more. “GUYS, IT’S ME, YOUR SON!” He still had to move as they didn't say anything and continued to shoot at him.
Dani was panicking as she watched the adult Fentons shoot at Danny. She wanted to help him out when they were shooting at him but she waited since he was trying to convince them that he was their son. For a moment, it looked like it worked but they started shooting once more. She was biting her lip to keep herself from interfering as she knew that Danny wanted to protect her from them. But she gasped, when she saw him trip on his pants. She made a decision when she saw that the two adults were aiming at him and flew down, became visible, grabbed him, and phased out of the room.
Maddie and Jack watched as they phased out of the room and were surprised to see the other ghost leave with Danny.
Maddie ran over to the window and stuck her head out the window and saw that they were floating in the air close by. She brought her head back in and began to run back downstairs. “Come on, Jack, we can't lose those ghosts!”
Jack began to run after Maddie with his mind thinking about capturing the very ghost they have been after for so long. He was a bit mad at himself that they could have captured the ghost sooner if it was living in this room, but they now had the chance to get it.
Dani was carrying Danny from under his arms and was relieved they were able to get out of there. She looked down at Danny and asked. “Hey, Danny, are you ok?”
Danny was basically catatonic as he couldn't believe that they still shot at him when he transformed back to his human form. “They knew it was me……. And they still shot at me. How could they….?” He thought back to his parents and after a minute of thought, his shock began to die down at the realization he came to. “Actually…..after thinking about it for a minute, I shouldn't be surprised.”
For years, the most interaction Danny ever got with his parents was when it had to do with them showing off one of their inventions or if there was the inkling that a ghost was around him. When it came to taking care of them, Danny and Jazz had to learn how to do it, from cooking, to cleaning, and material needs.
Jazz got a lot more attention though, as they had many expectations for her.
Regardless, Danny wasn't much to them.
He sagged in Dani’s arms as he looked defeated. “Wow, I think I just made myself more depressed than a second ago.”
Dani’s expression saddened at the insinuation that Danny was being ignored by his parents. “Danny-”
Danny’s eyes widened when the revving of a familiar vehicle was heard. “Dani, fly away, NOW!”
Dani didn't need to ask as she saw the Fenton RV come out from behind the building and began to drive in their direction. “Oh, boy!” She spun around and flew away with the large vehicle hot on their tail.
Jack, who was behind the wheel, looked out the front window and saw their target so close. “We got a pair of runners! Just a bit closer and I’ll be able to blast them away, molecule by molecule!”
Maddie also saw the pair and couldn't help but smirk at the very thought that they would be able to capture the elusive Phantom related duo. “We still have to get closer before you can do that, sweetie, so let me slow them down.” She moved to stick her torso out the window and aimed her gun at them.
Danny looked over his shoulder to see Maddie aiming at them and he shouted at Dani. “look out!”
Dani looked over her shoulder and saw the same thing and she began to swerve back and forth to avoid being hit by the shots.
Danny didn't like how they were and looked up at Dani. “Can you phase through the buildings?! We gotta get rid of them!”
Dani closed her eyes and tried to concentrate on that power. She felt the power take hold of both of them but she felt her leg start to lose its solidity and canceled the power with a yelp. “Sorry, Danny, I can't!”
Danny saw how her foot began to melt and understood her standing. ‘She must be using a lot of power right now just to keep us airborne. He felt a shot brush past his head and yelped. “We can't stay out here!” He thought about what he could do and figured that they needed a place to lie low at the moment. Reaching his left hand down, he pulled up his pants that were flapping in the wind and stuffed his right hand into its pockets. He smiled as he grabbed his phone and immediately dialed a number. “Keep dodging the blasts for a few more minutes!”
Dani nodded as she swayed to the right to avoid a few more shots.
Danny pressed the phone to his ear, impatiently waiting for the ringing tone to end. “Come on, come on!”
Sam was sitting on her bed, with a book in her hands for some early morning reading, trying to have a day for herself after the mess from yesterday.
She turned the page of the book when her phone began to right and she lowered her book to look up at the dresser she had on the other side of the room, where her phone was. She put the book down and got up to walk over to get it. She picked it up and frowned seeing who it was. ‘What does he want now?’ She let it ring a few more times before she just clipped it open and answered.
{Sam! Look, I need-}
“Whatever it is, deal with it yourself. I’m not in the mood to be your scapegoat again from one of your problems. Besides, I’m sure that you can handle whoever it is you are against.”
{But, Sam!}
“Forget it, Danny. Like I said, I’m not in the mood.” Before he could say anything else, she hung up, placed the phone down, and walked back to her bed to read her book. She couldn't help but find it odd how his voice was but she chalked it up to some weird ghost thing.
Danny pulled his phone away from his ear and looked at it in disbelief. “Seriously, Sam!?” He yelped when Dani did a corkscrew dodge and held onto his phone to make sure he didn't drop it. Gulping down, his frustration, and began to dial Tucker’s number.
Tucker was on his computer, playing DOOMED. He was rushing through a few of the new players, not even paying attention to them as they would take their time getting through the lower level enemies. He knew that Sam wasn't on so he was looking forward to trying to take out her avatar when it was on AI settings. He heard his phone ring and shifted his eyes to see it in his periphery as it was next to him. He saw that it was Danny and frowned. He chose to ignore it and go back to his game. He was still mad at Danny for what happened and he figured that Sam would go and help him.
{brrrr~ brrrr~}
“Come on, Tucker, I really need a bit of help here!” He was hoping for Tucker to at least hear him out in order to help him. Let him stay at his place for a bit.
Dani felt one of the shots brush on her shoulder and she yelped at the burning. ‘I gotta get rid of them!’ She looked ahead for anything that could help them out and saw that there was an alley coming up. She smiled as she sped up and turned to the right, flying into the alley. “That should help. They won't be able to get us now.”
Maddie saw them go into the alley and brought herself back in, just in time as Jack turned the wheel, coming to an abrupt stop.
Dani smiled seeing this and was about to look ahead so she could get them out of the area, only for her eyes to widen when she saw the RV drive into the alley, barely scraping the walls as it sped up.
Jack smiled as he pressed a button on the steering wheel, causing the four barrel cannon on the top of the RV to come out. With them now in an alley, the ghost wouldn't be able to avoid their fire. He let go of the steering wheel as it folded up, retracted into the dashboard, before turret controls came out with a display. He grabbed it and stuck his tongue out in concentration as he aimed for their target. He pressed the firing button, sending a stream of ecto lighting at them.
Dani shrieked at the attack and shifted to the left, enough for them to get out of the way.
Danny, however, was not expecting the move and his hand stretched out as the lightning brushed against it. “ARGH!”
The lightning didn't hit Danny, but his phone, destroying it before it could even connect to Tucker’s voicemail.
Danny held his hand in pain and grumbled at how both of his friends were now out of the question. “Why is it that when I really need them, they aren't there to help!”
“DANNY!”
He looked up to see that Dani was panicking at how she was slowing down. She looked tired and figured it was because she was coming to her limit. He had hoped he would be able to get some help from Sam or Tucker but that didn't pan out. And now that his phone was destroyed, he figured that she had done enough. “Ok, my turn!” His transformation rings appeared and ran over his body, getting rid of his oversized clothes and replacing it with his hazmat suit, which was his smaller size. Once his transformation was finished, he swung his legs before he backflipped in front of Dani, over her head, and picked her up in his arms before he flew up higher. “We gotta get moving cause they are never gonna let us go!” He reached the top of the buildings and continued to fly in a straight line, over all the buildings.
Jack saw them start to fly higher and frowned at how they were gaining distance. Not one to let the ghost get away, he pressed his foot harder on the pedal and the RV made it out of the alley before it turned to the left and then took a right.
Maddie pressed a button and the turret controls shifted to her side while Jack regained the wheel.
They would have lost them, but with Jacks driving, they were able to keep up with the two ghosts.
Maddie looked at the targeting reticle and smiled as she got a lock on them.
Danny looked over his shoulder as he could still hear the revving of the RV and frowned as he saw that they were able to keep up, despite how he was flying over the buildings.
The Fentons were following them using streets that followed their path.
Danny flew under a shot that went over his head and he figured that Maddie had taken up the shooting again. “Damn it, we can't keep this up!” He thought about where he could go but his mind was going blank. “Sam’s not helping, Tucker didn't answer, and they are never gonna let us go!” He tried to think of what to do when Dani shouted.
“Danny, look out!”
He looked back to see a net coming at them. He was so shocked, he did a sharp maneuver to avoid it, yet in doing so, he dropped Dani.
Dani was shocked at being let go, but she caught herself only a dozen feet below Danny. She was about to rejoin him, but he did it by tackling her out of the way of another net.
Danny once again carried Dani in his arms as he sped up to avoid the nets being shot at them. His mind then came up with a way to give them some space. “Ok, this’s gonna be tricky.” He pulled up a couple feet above the ground and began to fly straight toward the oncoming RV. He swerved left and right to avoid the shots of Ecto energy and lightning aimed at him. His eyes shifted up to look at the eyes of his mother. He could see that there was no hesitation in her shooting and he narrowed his eyes as he got closer.
It was a split second of multiple actions.
Maddie pulled the trigger, sending a shot at them.
Danny curved around the shot before going intangible.
Jack saw they were about to collide and stretched out his arm to press the button for the Ghost shield.
Danny and Dani phase into the RV.
The shield began to form from the front of the RV and over it.
Maddie and Danny’s eyes meet for a split second as he flew past her, both with anger in their a eyes
The duo phased out the back just as the shield closed in on itself, clipping the end of Danny’s boot.
It was thanks to that clipping, that ripped off the tip of his boot, that Danny lost control of his flight and he fell to the ground, rolling on the concrete before coming to a stop with Dani on top of him. “Ok, ow!”
The RV came to a skidding side stop thanks to all the chaos that just happened.
The Phantom duo lifted their heads and looked toward the RV and smiled at how it had stopped. They were picking themselves up when they heard the Turret shift to aim at them. Their eyes widened as they didn't think the turret would aim at them so quickly. Then again, Danny didn't expect to crash when phasing through.
Dani saw the shield lower before the gun started to charge before her mind was the next to come up with a crazy idea. “Danny, throw me at it!” She heard the weapon charging up, meaning they had seconds before it shot at them.
Danny looked at her as if she was insane. “What?! But-”
“DO IT!”
Danny didn't argue anymore as he grabbed her hands, spun around, and threw her toward the turret.
Dani was sent flying, without using her flight, toward the turret before she flipped so her feet would meet the weapon. She channeled some of her energy into her feet and when her feet planted on the barrel of the gun, she unleashed the energy before kicking off, causing it to explode, sending her flying back.
Danny saw her falling and he jumped forward in time to catch her. Once she was in his arms, they spun like a top before she fell out of his arms and he grabbed her hand to hold her up as she was close to falling. He held her up as she was on one foot and panting from using her energy. He looked at the destroyed turret and laughed at the move she just did. “Wow, that was crazy.”
Dani giggled as she saw her work. “Yeah, it was.”
They didn't get to enjoy their moment as they heard the wheels start to rev.
Danny moved to pick Dani up and flew off. “So much for getting a head start.”
Dani looked down at the coming RV and smiled as the main weapon was gone. “At least we don't have to worry about being shot at.”
On cue, a set of five laser guns came out the side and aimed at them.
Danny looked over his shoulder, causing Dani to wrinkle her nose as his hair tickled it. He saw the guns before sighing. “Piece of advice, Never tempt Murphy. He loves to prove you wrong.”
Dani tilted her head as she asked. “Who’s Murphy?”
Danny blinked a few times at the question before smiling. “I’ll tell you later. Right now, we need to get away from here.” Danny noticed something appear some distance away and it was clearly not normal. His gut told him he should head over there and a shot that went over his head made him turn toward it and fly as fast as he could toward it. The issue was that there was a street directly under them that had no turns or blocking buildings.
Maddie was now in the back of the RV with a display showing their targets and four joysticks at each corner of the display. She kept switching between the four as she adjusted them to aim at the two before she kept pressing the triggers. Her mind was focused on taking them down, capturing them, and figuring out what they were since she already came to the conclusion that it was unique.
Jack was of the same mindset. He couldn't wait to put the ghost on the table and figure out what it was since it was clear that it could switch between a human appearance and a ghost one.
Danny was swerving around several shots that were lighting up the sky. There were more shots coming his way that he couldn't fly straight for any length of time and he was close to losing which way was up, down, left, or right.
Dani held her head as she herself was getting dizzy, and if it wasn't for the fact that they were in danger, she would have asked Danny to stop.
Danny kept his gaze at what he was flying to and despite how he couldn't see straight, he figured out what it was.
It was a portal.
Danny smiled at that as it was their best bet. He didn't care where it went, but if it got them out of there, he would take it. He sped up and spun to the right as a shot flew in front of him. “Come on, come on!” He was closing in on the portal and just when he was a dozen feet away, one shot struck his stomach, just below Dani and caused them to flail.
But thankfully, they flailed through the portal, just before it closed.
The RV came to a screeching halt as they had lost sight of them.
Jack drooped his head on the wheel in disappointment. “Awww~”
Maddie slammed her hand on the screen as she hated how they just lost Phantom once more. She took a breath before she looked over to her husband. “I’m sure we’ll get him next time.”
Jack looked over his shoulder and smiled at his wife. “You’re right, Maddie, we will.”
The RV drove off back to the Fenton household
Danny and Dani came to a crashing stop as they rolled onto the ground. They groaned in pain but they felt relieved that they were able to get away from the Fentons
Dani groaned into the ground before she lifted her head to look for Danny. She saw him lying on his back a few feet away with a scorch mark on his stomach. She grew worried before she crawled over to him. “Danny, are you ok?”
Danny winced as he peeked open one eye. “I’ll be fine after I have a big Double Nasty whopper with extra bacon and a large shake.”
“I’m afraid that you will not be getting your desired meal any time soon.”
The Phantom dupe looked up at the new voice with only one of them recognizing it.
Danny’s eyes widened in shock as he was not expecting to see this ghost so soon. “Clockwork?!” He saw the Time ghost in his elderly form shift to his baby form, all with a smile on his face. He dropped his head and shifted his eyes to keep his gaze on the powerful specter. “I don't know if I should be happy or worried to see you? Should I be worried? I should be worried, shouldn't I?”
Clockwork chuckled as he floated a few feet in front of the two. He smiled as he saw Danielle tense up, ready to defend Danny if he turned out to be a threat. “You do not have to worry, young Daniel, it is not as drastic as you believe this meeting would suggest.”
Danny let out a sigh of relief before wincing. He grunted out his words as he tried to ignore the pain. “Well, do you mind if I start rambling questions about what is going on? I know you know cause you know everything.”
Dani eased up her tension as it looked like Danny didn't see this ghost as a threat. She saw that Danny was trying to sit up with some difficulty and she moved to help him and hold him up.
Danny gave a grateful smile toward Dani before he looked to Clockwork expectantly.
Clockwork shook his head to Danny’s question. “I will inform you of what you need to know, but first we will need to mend that wound you have.”
Danny waved his hand dismissively. “I’ve been hit with stronger attacks before. This is nothing.”
Clockwork shook his head. “Normally, that would be true, but with how you are right now, that wound is in need of tending to.”
Danny raised an eyebrow at that before he jokingly quipped. “You now the master of medical care, too?”
Dani giggled at his little joke while Clockwork chuckled
The master of time shook his head. “Not me, but I plan on sending you to someone that will take care of that.”
Danny raised an eyebrow in confusion this time as he asked. “I’m glad you got us out of there right when we needed you but why didn't you just send us to this person in the first place?”
Clockwork turned into his adult form as he looked at Danny with a knowing smile. “With how high strung you were, seeing a new face would not have been a good idea.”
Danny wasn't sure what he meant, but if Clockwork said it, he would have to take his word for it.
Clockwork opened a portal and gestured to it. “Danielle, would you mind taking him through. There is someone waiting for you two.”
Dannielle looked down at Danny and threw his arm over her shoulder as she floated up and took him through the portal.
Danny smiled up at Clockwork as he realized that he was hurt a lot more than he thought since he couldn't even float himself. “Thanks, Clockwork, but I would like some answers later on.”
Clockwork nodded. “And you will have them…… in time.”
The Phantom duo went through the portal, causing it to close behind them.
Clockwork’s smile dropped before he ruined around and flew over to his Time windows. “Another timeline for Danny’s hardships to increase.” He lifted his staff toward one of his time windows and watched as the Fentons returned home and began to work on new devices with new vigor. He sighed as these two would be one of the hardships Danny had to deal with. Thankfully, he already set in motion events to make things easier.
The two Phantoms walked through the portal and looked around at the new area.
There were stone columns, fountains, and an ancient feel to everything around them.
Danny winced at the pain he was in as he asked. “Wonder who it was that Clockwork said was gonna help us.”
“That would be me.”
The two looked up…… and up…. And up……. And up, to see the smiling face of a tall ghost woman with pale blue skin, long purple flaming hair, four arms, and wearing a toga around her body.
The two had the same thought of the ghostly woman.
‘She’s tall.’
The ghost woman knelt down to be closer to them, but was still towering over them. She put her top left hand over her chest as she introduced herself. “I am Pandora, leader of the Greek realm. I was informed by Clockwork about your arrival and have prepared to tend to your wounds, young one.” She leaned in closer to see the wound on the two. The female of the two had a few scraps and bruises that would need some tending, but the male was clearly the one that needed the most attention. “We should see to it that you are healed up as I was also informed that many things need to be done after you are healed up.”
Danny smiled at her with one eye closed in pain. “Thanks a lot.” His mind did cling to the fact that she said her name was Pandora and he knew that he had heard that name before, but the pain on his stomach was really starting to get to him.
Pandora smiled and she reached out and gently picked up the two and cradled them in her lower arms. Danny on her left with Dani on her right. “This will be much easier for you, so let's get moving.” She began to walk down a torch lit hall, toward a bedroom that had some of the supplies she set up for them.
Danny and Dani began to relax in her arms as they finally felt they were safe.
Once they arrived into the room, Pandora gently placed the two down on a bed as her upper arms grabbed a container she set on the side. Once they were down, she gently ran her hand over Dani’s hair, getting a giggle out of the young girl, while her left arms were gently keeping Danny in a sitting position. She looked at Dani and spoke. “I will get to your wounds right after I handle Danny’s wounds, alright?”
Dani nodded as she knew Danny needed more help than she did, while he asked.
“How did you know my name? This is the first time we met, right?”
Pandora nodded as she shifted to be directly in front of him. “Clockwork informed me about you and what wounds you might have sustained. That is why I have this ready for you.” Her right arms opened the container as the lower right grabbed a small glass bottle that had a clear yellowish gel, while the top right grabbed some bandages. Her lower left hand undid his hazmat and lowered the top while her top left held him up. Her top right put the bandages down before she used both right arms to remove the cork of the glass bottle. She put the cork down and dipped three of her fingers into the gel before bringing out some of it. “This will sting once I put it on the wound. Ready?”
Danny nodded just before he held in a cry as she rubbed the gel on his burn mark.
Dani moved to hold his hand in support, getting a smile from him.
Pandora continued to rub the gel on the burn for a few minutes before she used her lower right hand to grab a towel and wipe her hand clean. Once that was done, she used her upper arms to hold Danny’s arms up while her lower hands began to wrap the bandage around his stomach.
The whole process lasted about twenty minutes but to Danny it felt much longer.
Pandora placed her top left hand on his head and smiled at him. “Now all you need is rest. Keep the top of your suit off so no unneeded pressure will touch your wound, understand?”
Danny nodded as he leaned back and laid on the bed.
Pandora smiled at how he began to relax and was no longer wincing in pain. She looked to Danielle and reached in the case to grab another small bottle, this time with a greenish gel instead. “Now for you, young lady.”
Danielle nodded as she sat there waiting for Pandora to do what she was gonna do. Her eyes kept shifting to Danny to make sure he was ok.
Pandora noticed this and smiled but kept her thoughts to herself. She began to gently apply the gel on the small scratches on the girl, who was mostly ok. Only one bandage on her cheek was needed but nothing major. Once everything was done, she packed up the supplies and stood up. “You two, may sleep here for the time being. You will be safe here as you heal and once we are certain that you are back to your normal strength, I was informed that I must take you elsewhere for an examination.”
Danny lifted his head as he didn't like the sound of that. He was about to voice his displeasure but was stopped when Pandora lifted up one of her hands.
“Do not be alarmed, young Daniel, it was at the behest of Clockwork, who I know you have a great deal of trust. The examination will be about some matter I was not informed about other than it had happened to you quite recently.”
Hearing that it was Clockwork that set this up eased up his worry. If Clockwork was the one to set this up, then there was a very good reason for it. He laid his head back down and sighed, now wanting to get some sleep.
Pandora saw how tired the two were and began to make her leave. “Sleep well, young ones. I shall see you when you awake.”
Danny tiled his head up to see that the pillow was several feet away from him. He frowned and was about to shimmy his way toward it but he was instead, picked up from underneath and moved over to the pillow.
Dani had picked Danny up and moved him over to the pillow. It was amusing to see that the pillow was big enough for the tow of them to lay on and she decided to do just that. Once she put him on the pillow, she laid down next to him with his hand in hers as she snuggled into his side.
Danny smiled at how Dani was snuggling into him and he closed his eyes to get some sleep, wanting to put everything that happened behind him. ‘It's not even the afternoon and I’m already dead tired. I guess that's what happens when your whole life is shattered in one single moment.’ He let exhaustion take him as he fell asleep with Dani at his side.
Pandora smiled as she saw the two fall asleep on her bed. She left the room and made her way to the gardens. She thought about when Clockwork came to her about these two coming to her realm. “I feel there is much more to the coming of these two that you did not inform me about, Clockwork, but one thing I feel is that I must aid them, protect them, in whatever way I can.” She crossed her upper arms while her lower arms were put on her hips, all the while trying to figure out what it is that Clockwork might eb planning.
End of chapter
This idea had two versions but I ended up choosing this one. Gonna put the second idea in my Danny phantom one shot fic Danny Phantom: What could have been. But that will be when I get home.
This will be a Danny X Dani fic. With Mama Pandora
How did I do with Maddie and Jack? I’m not a hundred percent on how I got them to the point of where they are.
I kinda have a plan for the future of this fic so I will work on it as we go on.
Anyway, I hope you liked this first chapter.
