Chapter Text
A single drop falls into a pool, deep and endless, rippling outwards.
A black pyramid, inverted; suspended over a dark crater in the shadow of the red mountain.
Mountain. Heavy Mountains… things that change over time.
Cracked Earth, bathed in crimson, dominating the horizon beneath a clear sky.
Tears of blue. Sky… Blue sky. Blue sky over red Earth. What your eyes can’t see. What your eyes can see.
Mountains that are not mountains. A field of dead giants; frozen, hands reaching towards the uncaring sun.
Sun. A unique object. Water. Where I (we?) return. Something comforting.
A visage - the Commander. The one-eyed man. God and Devil.
Flowers. Pretty flowers under glass. So many of the same. So many unneeded. What is their purpose?
A legion of figures suspended in a sea of amber, unending. Born to die. Dying to be born.
Sky… Red, red sky. The color red. The color I (we?) hate. Water flowing. Flowing like… Blood… The smell of blood.
Birds of a feather bleed together.
Man, made from red soil. Man, made from man and woman. The black pyramid… A human creation. Eva… A human creation. What is a human? A creation of God? To what purpose?
A bullet just needs a direction.
The things I possess are a life and a soul. I am a vessel for a soul.
Who is this?
This is me.
This is… me?
Who am I?
What am I?
What am I?
I am myself. This object is me. This is the me that can be seen, yet I feel as though I am not myself.
I am… you?
How strange. I feel as if my body is melting.
I can no longer see myself. My shape is fading.
I feel the presence of someone who is not me.
Is someone there, beyond this?
Who are you?
Who are you?
Crimson red eyes - piercing, captivating. Lavender blue hair framing alabaster features. Perfect by intent. The girl blinks, focuses. Her brow furrows slightly.
“Who are you?” she asks.
A young woman stares back. Red eyes wide. Cropped, lavender blue hair and pale skin flecked with grime. Blood flowing freely down the side of her face. Features contorted in shock and fear, gasping for breath.
Distantly, a klaxon blares. Everything burns.
She tries to speak…
