Ever since Louis could remember, Harry has always been there.
They met in their very first year of hogwarts. Young and newly presented omega Louis was having a hard time carrying his bags, his busy single mother had left after a quick kiss on his cheek and a promise to write more to him, Louis didn’t mind he knew she had a lot on her plate. If only he presented into an alpha so he could at least carry his bags with ease
He was about to give up altogether and cry in the middle of the train platform when someone took his bags, relieving him from its burden. He turned around to find a boy who was no older than him but he was clearly an alpha with his slightly taller frame. He had a big mane of curly hair which should have looked bad but the boy somehow made it work. Louis looked at the boy wearing a crooked smile and smiled back.
“Hi I am Harry, a first year student, it's nice to meet you” the boy raised his hand for a shake.
“I’m Louis, also a first year, nice to meet you Harry” Though the reply was shy it made Harry’s smile grow and Louis decided right there and then, he wanted to be the boy’s friend.
They sat together on the train for the first time and got to know eachother better and even after they both were sorted into different houses (Harry in Slytherin and Louis in Ravenclaw) they still considered each other their best friends.
As the years passed, their friendship also grew, meeting up at Louis’ place before a new year became their little tradition, from there they would go to Diagon Alley together, buying their essentials for the new year. They would even sit on the Hogwarts express together, giggling and talking about everything and nothing, soon everyone at Hogwarts knew of them as a duo. There was no Harry without Louis, and there was no Louis without Harry, they were always together. All was well
There was just one problem : Louis Tomlinson has fallen for his childhood best friend, and the worst part is, his feelings were not returned.

The sun shining harshly down on his face through the window is what disturbed Louis from his sleep, he was just about to turn to lay on his back and do the biggest stretch ever when he felt the warm body engulfed to his back and the arms wrapped around his middle
Right, it's Harry.
This would also mean their last year at Hogwarts is to begin in a week since that is usually when Harry would show up at his house. Louis wanted to make sure he made the best out of his last year; he needs to maintain his good grades to make sure his start to his professional career as a Hogwarts teacher is as smooth as possible.
But first he needs to wake his stupid alpha bestfriend up.
Louis turned in Harry’s grasp so that he was facing his chest then he gently shook his shoulder “Harry, wake up it's getting late.” The Alpha merely wrapped his arms tighter around Louis, making it hard for boy to breathe
“Harry!” Louis wheezed, while lightly hitting his best friend's shoulder, “I can’t breathe, let me go you big oaf!”
To the omega's luck, Harry finally stirred awake, his eyes fluttering for a bit trying to adjust to the light, while his face was set in a frown. Louis rolled his eyes fondly, Harry is always so disoriented right after waking up.
Finally the Alphas eyes landed on Louis and he smiled so soft it made something erupt in Louis' stomach, the omega ignored the sensation “When did you get here?”
“A few hours ago, I was occupied with the lads for a bit so I got late” Harry explained in his rough morning voice, putting his face in Louis’ neck, just basking in his warmth.
Even Though Harry and Louis were each other's closest friends, the Alpha had still gained quite a bit of popularity especially after he had been appointed quidditch captain, he was always surrounded by people and he was always invited to parties, it didn't bother Louis as long as he was still the Alpha’s first priority.
Louis on the other hand had a closed off social circle with only one other close friend other than Harry and he liked it this way as it allowed him to focus on his studies and his duty as the head boy of ravenclaw, he didn't need anyone as long as he had his best friend by his side.
“Harry I think we should get up now or mum will be angry” Louis tried once again only to hear a groan from the taller of the two.
“But Louis!” the whining from the Alpha made Louis giggle “I wanna sleep in!” Harry looked with a pout on his lips, it made him look like a frog and Louis laughed louder.
“Stop being playful and get up, we have to go downstairs before the owls arrive” the omega said in a stern tone, finally getting up from bed and trudging into the bathroom, a big smile still on his face.

The first thing Louis noticed when he came down to the dining area was the note placed on the table, upon taking closer look, Louis’ recognized his mothers writing, he picked up the piece of paper to reads its contents
“Louis honey i am sorry but i have to leave in a hurry, there is an emergency at the ministry, please prepare yourself a nice meal before the owls from your school arrive, Love you boo bear
From Mum”
Louis kind of knew his mum would not be here for breakfast but it still made him upset, having a mother who is also a high ranking member of the ministry of magic meant that Louis hardly gets to spend time with her, it's fine though he knows she works this hard so he can have a good life.
Louis was just going to perform a spell to prepare their breakfast when the sudden appearance of a certain alpha made him jump.
“Harry! How many times do I have to tell you not to apparate unless absolutely necessary?” he reprimanded the alpha who at least had the decency to look sheepish.
“But Louis we are 18 now, we are allowed to apparate” the alpha childishly whined, even pouting a little bit to make sure that Louis’ anger completely melts
The omega sighed “Just. Use the stairs next time, now step aside while i try this new spell that is guaranteed to get us a delicious meal prepared in the fastest time”
Usually Harry would intervene before a disaster occurred because while the shorter was very smart, cooking spells were not his thing and always ended in a disaster, however this time the determination on Louis’ face was too adorable so Harry let the boy be; besides no one knew how to perform repairing spells better than him.
Louis cleared his throat “Tribunus Breakfast!”
For a few seconds nothing happened, and then
BANG! CRASH!
To say the kitchen looked like a disaster was an understatement, dust and soot littered the air, the smell of smoke made Harry wrinkle his nose, all while glass shards were all over the kitchen floor. But all of that didn't matter to the alpha because as soon as he laid eyes on the omega’s overwhelmed and sad expression he knew he had to fix this mess immediately.
So he took out his wand and said in a loud, clear voice “Reparo!”, instantly putting the kitchen back to its original state. He then turned to the omega who was currently trying hard (and failing) to keep his eyes from tearing up.
“Hey it's okay pup” Harry hugged the shorter boy close to his chest, rubbing circles to comfort the sad, pouting boy.
“Harry, why can’t I be good at cooking spells?” The omega asked the question with teary eyes, his voice breaking towards the end, the sight broke Harry’s heart, he wanted to hold the boy and never let go.
Instead he just held Louis face in his hand and spoke in a soft comforting manner “You’ll get it soon enough Louis, don't try to rush things, some spells are harder to get alright”
Louis sniffled “What if I am stuck in the woods alone with no food to eat?” He knows his question is childish and unrealistic because why would he be stuck in the woods alone? But he was enjoying the attention he was receiving from the alpha. Sue him!
Harry chuckled upon hearing his worries and just gently caressed the omegas soft face with his thumb “Why are you worrying? You know my cooking skills are top notch, I'll handle it!” Harry said with a smirk.
Louis blushed before replying “What if you are not there?”
“I’ll alway be there with you.” Harry said with a tone of finality, and before the shorter boy had the chance to respond, Harry pulled away from him and took out his own wand.
He pointed it to the kitchen counter before saying in a loud, clear voice “Tribunus Breakfast!”
At once the smell of freshly baked bread spread around the room and the sight of a perfectly made omelette with a side of a fresh plate of bacons made Louis’ mouth water, he looked on in awe as a kettle appeared from thin air and started pouring out hot, yorkshire tea in to two cups.
“Harry, this is amazing!” Louis exclaimed looking at the other boy only to find him already looking at the omega, Harry looked almost fond.
Louis blushed and redirected his attention to the 5 star meal in an effort to distract himself, “Let's go eat, I am starving!” and with that the omega quickly took a seat closest to where the plate of bacon was kept.
Harry joined soon after and both boys ate their breakfast and talked about their summers.

In a blink of an eye the week passes and soon enough Louis finds himself standing at platform 9 ¾.
The past week both the boys spent shopping for new school supplies and academic books; Harry had bought the firebolt version 10 which was said to be the fastest broom to date, whilst Louis bought new robes since his old ones had become too old. They also spent the last few days of their summer vacations cuddled together on Louis’ bed just simply enjoying their time together.
He sighed happily.
He was brought out of his thoughts by someone suddenly engulfing him in the tightest hug ever.
Louis would scream if it wasn't for him recognizing the sweet scent of crushed chocolate and honey.
It was Niall, the blonde boy was Louis’ roommate and also his only other omega friend.
Louis hugged the energetic boy back, they stayed like that for a few moments then the other omega pulled away, a grin on his face “Louis I missed you so much! Where is Harry! How was your summer?! Tell me everything?!” The younger was practically vibrating with how excited he was.
Louis just rolled his eyes already accustomed to the others' behaviour “I am good Nialler, my summer was great and as for Harry, he is probably with his friends” he said the last part bitterly.
Louis didn't have any issues with Harry having any friends of course, he just liked it better when Harry was with him.
Yes he was sometimes jealous when some of Harry's omega and beta friends got a bit too close to him, but he always got over it.
Niall gave him a knowing look which he ignored
“C’mon let's board the train before all the good seats are taken” Louis said in a hurry to avoid Niall’s scrutinising gaze.
Luckily the blonde boy let it go instead talking about his family trip to egypt

The train to Hogwarts was a long one, so after Louis was done with the brief yearly meeting with the prefects, he quickly made his way to the back of the train to find the compartment that Niall would surely be waiting for him in.
He was peeking in the second to last compartments when he saw the devastating sight…
It was Harry and he was making out with some random omega from their year. The sight broke Louis’ heart, it was like someone splashed cold water on him and reminded him that Harry will NEVER like him back. Harry was just too good for him.
Tears filled Louis eye, his heart felt heavy, he felt unwanted and pathetic, unable to handle the heartbreaking sight any longer, Louis turned away and opened the door to the last compartment falling into the seat opposite Niall, who looked super confused and concerned for his best friend
“Louis you okay?” Niall asked him, taking a seat next to him “please tell me what happened”
The concern in the other’s voice made Louis turn to him “Niall… why wont Harry like me back?” Louis sniffed, looking down at his hands “what's wrong with me?”
The question broke the other omegas heart, he couldn't bear to see his best friend this distraught “Oh Louis, come here sweetheart” with that he pulled the smaller closer to him and released calming pheromones “ You’re perfect, don't for a second think otherwise, and Harry is just a dumb alpha if he can’t see that”
Louis laid his head on Niall's shoulder, while the other omega just stroked his hair and released calming pheromones.
They stayed like that for a few more minutes before there was a knock on their door, Louis abruptly got up and looked at Niall with wide eyes.
“Relax it's probably the trolley lady” Niall reassured “Lemme go buy us some snacks!” he said in a cheery voice, making Louis smile.
However the smile was quickly wiped off the omegas face because when Niall opened the door he heard the voice of the very alpha who made him upset.
“Nialler! How have you been?” Harry asked in his sweet voice, sounding happy and breaking Louis’ heart a bit more, “Is Louis with you?”
Upon hearing his name, Louis’ eyes widened; he really didn't want to face the alpha right now.
“Oh yeah he is here, the poor boy was exhausted after his head boy duties so he fell asleep” upon hearing the other omegas response, Louis quickly laid down and pretended to sleep, he was forever grateful to Niall for always understanding Louis without the need of voicing anything out.
“Oh really? That's strange….” Louis could practically imagine Harry’s confused frog face, the sight made him smile despite how mad he was at the alpha, “Louis usually waits for me before sleeping so we could sleep together”
This made Louis' heart clench, why did Harry have to be so perfect? Why did he remember every small detail about Louis, made him feel so special and then go around kissing other omegas? Why does he always have to play with Louis' emotions?
A single tear rolled down Louis’ cheek, he quickly wiped it away.
“Yeah I guess this year he was EXTRA tired” Niall tried again trying to make the alpha leave.
“Okay well let me just check on him and then i’ll be out” Harry said and without waiting for a response he entered the train compartment, crouching in front of Louis’ ‘sleeping’ form.
The alpha gently touched Louis’ cheek and brushed the hair off his forehead, the action almost made the omega shiver, but he kept it in.
“Niall please tell Louis to come find me, once he wakes up.” the alpha said in a quiet voice, gentle voice, and with that the alpha stood up, nodded at Niall and left the compartment.
Niall quickly locked the door “God he acts like he is your alpha!” Niall complained in an exasperated voice, falling on the seat opposite to Louis. “It's so scary!”
Louis just giggled at that, finding his omega friend silly.

The train arrived at Hogwarts around dinner time, and Louis couldn't be more relieved.
After napping for a bit Louis did go out to look for Harry only to find the alpha with his quidditch teammates, when the alpha spotted him, he immediately excused himself and went to his best friend, the two went to Louis’ compartment (niall nowhere in sight) and spend time together there.
For a moment Louis was able to forget the random omega and everything that he saw and just enjoy his time with his best friend and actually have fun but all of that changed quickly when the very same omega who kissed his alpha bestfriend intruded their conversation and called Harry back.
Just like that, the rest of the train journey was also ruined for Louis, and he spent it alone in a compartment getting ahead on his coursework, Niall tried to get him out but Louis made it clear that he wanted to be left alone.
So now he stood outside the train guiding the students of his house into the right direction and making sure no one was left behind on the train.
It was when no one was in the trains and Louis was done with his head boy duties and was making his way to where the carriages were that he saw his best friend again.
Harry was leaning against the last carriage, looking at the ground and seemingly lost in thought. When Louis made his way closer, the alpha looked up and immediately smiled at him.
It was such a sweet smile Louis couldn't help but smile back at him, all his previous anger melting. Louis stopped right in front of the alpha and folded his arms “ What are you still doing here?” He asked in a faux serious voice “Shouldn't you be with your friends?” Louis smiled to hide his hurt.
The alpha just smiled brighter and pulled Louis closer by the waist “How could I leave without my lou lou?” the alpha asked with a pout on his face, Louis wanted to kiss him so badly,
God why does he have to be so cute!?
Instead Louis just pulled back from the hug “C’mon lets go or we’ll be late” and without waiting for the alpha to react he climbed the carriage and took a seat, the alpha following shortly after.
The alpha made sure to take a seat right beside Louis, laying his head on the shorters shoulder Louis smiled at his best friend's silliness.

It was shortly after the sorting ceremony, all the students were eagerly waiting for Professor Mcgonagals mandatory start of the year speech to end and then surely they will get to enjoy a magnificent feast that is prepared for them every year.
“I have just one more announcement” Professor Mcginagal’s voice made all the students groan, “You might be upset right now but trust me this is a very exciting news indeed”
This made all the students particularly curious, before the students could contemplate what this exciting news is, the principal continued.
“The Head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports announced that they will be bringing back The triwizard tournament!” and with that two big posters appeared behind the principal and unrolled on either side.
TRIWIZARD IS COMING BACK TO HOGWARTS, 30 YEARS LATER!
It was a big poster that demanded the attention of anyone that saw it, it had a picture of Victor Krum, followed by Harry Potter in the centre and finally Fleur Delacour, the three of them were standing with their arms crossed smiling proudly.
Immediately the whole great hall fell into a loud chatter. The professor raised her hand to silence the students.
It worked and immediately everyone quieted down.
“I am very honoured to announce that since the last triwizard victor was from our school, the ministry has decided that once again Hogwarts shall host this year's tournament!” Professor Mcgonagal announced with a proud smile on her face.
The students cheered at that information.
Mcgonagall continued “Further information regarding the tournament shall be announced in a week when the students from other schools will arrive, I must remind you all to be on your best behaviour and to treat our guests with utmost respect. Any student found bullying or fighting with the students from other schools shall be dealt with accordingly” the professor used a very stern voice making sure no student dares to disobey her.
She waited a few minutes to let the information sink in and then:
“Now let the feast begin!”

It was a few days after the announcement was made and it was all anyone could talk about; all the students were excited at the prospect of meeting young wizards from other places and were looking forward to what tasks this year's triwizard had in store for the champions.
Just like everyone else Louis was no exception to being thrilled at this news. He could not stop talking about the triwizard championship, ever since he was a kid he had read all about the tournaments, and to think it was happening in his school, for him to witness?
Louis considered himself very lucky.
Even now he was in a heated discussion with Niall about what they thought the tasks could be, “Louis they already did dragons there is no way they would do that again!” Niall argued in a loud voice making a few heads in the great hall turn but no one dared interrupt the hyper omega.
“Maybe they repeat it for symbolism or something” Louis knew his argument was dumb, but he loves dragons and always wanted to see one up close.
Niall was ready to argue back but their conversation was interrupted by two particular alphas.
Harry, as usual, took a seat right next to Louis while Liam sat next to Niall.
“What are you two boys talking about?” Harry asked, taking out his potions homework.
Louis would usually question why someone was studying in the noisy great hall instead of the library, but this was Harry and Louis knew that the alpha studies only when Louis’ around. It's been like that since they were kids and every time the omega tried to question it the alpha changed the subject, so Louis just let it go.
“Harry, please tell Louis that dragons will not be in the tournament this year! “ Niall whined, making Liam smile.
The puppy faced alpha had such an obvious crush on the other.
Harry just shrugged “Well why can't we have dragons this year Niall?”.
Niall stared at him like he grew two heads “Are you kidding me !? It happened last time. Why would they do that again? That's like SO unoriginal” the blonde boy said in a sassy tone, making everyone laugh.
“Okay but seriously though, wouldn't it be SO amazing if the winner for this year is also from hogwarts?” Liam sighed.
“That would be SO cool! I think I would actually ask the Hogwarts victor to marry me!”
Obviously Louis was joking and judging by how Niall and Liam were chuckling they took it as a joke too, so then why did the alpha beside him suddenly freeze up?
Louis looked at the alpha only to find him staring back at Louis with an unreadable expression, before Louis could question his strange behaviour, Harry went back to doing his homework.
Louis let it go, again.

It was the day when the students from other schools had to arrive.
All classes for the day had been cancelled to make sure the other students were welcomed in the best way possible.
To say Louis was excited was an understatement, the omega couldn't stop talking about all he knew about the triwizard championship to anyone that would listen.
Even right now when both the best friends were on their way to the great hall to welcome the rest of the students, Louis was telling Harry all about the previous year's tasks.
“And then they had to stay underwater for one hour! Isn't that insane?“ he was making huge animated gestures with his hands while talking, it made Harry smile fondly.
The alpha kept listening to his adorable best friend talk, occasionally steering the omega when they were supposed turn or had to dodge pillars that were coming in their way,
That's how the two boys found themselves in the great hall, they were ushered inside by one of their professors, the two quickly took a seat and waited for whatever was to come next.
When the entire great hall was filled with students, Professor Mcgonagall came up to the podium. “I am sure everyone must be very excited so I wont keep you waiting any longer, let's welcome the students from the first school that will be joining us, Durmstrang!”
The backdoor slammed open, making all the students turn towards it. Immediately Alphas wearing capes made from matted, woolly fur along with fur hats and blood-red robes entered.
They all looked so intimidating Louis held Harry's hand underneath the table, the alpha didn't say anything, just squeezed his hand, reassuring the omega.
The students marched forward and once they were towards the front of the room they clapped their hands twice and immediately gold canes appeared in their hands.
The hogwart students gasped in amazement.
They slammed their canes on the ground, prompting gold shimmering dust to sprinkle from the ends of their canes, then they turned towards the audience, suddenly someone from the back of the back did a front flip and landed in front of the herd.
The raven haired boy scanned the whole room until his hazel eyes landed on Louis, the omega could've sworn the boy smirked at him but before he could make sure, the boy did a loud howl, getting joined by the rest of the boys.
It was clear their performance had ended and the whole great hall erupted in cheers and clapped at the magnificent performance.
Then another figure entered through the back door, this man was 7 ft tall and was wearing all black robes, just from the way this man walked, it was clear he was an authoritative figure.
Louis guessed it was Durmstrang principal, and he was proven right when Professor Mcgonagall spoke up again, “Students please welcome Durmstrangs headmaster Dominick Fyodor” then she personally went down the podium to greet the headmaster and show him to his seat.
When Mcgongall returned she cleared her throat “Now please welcome the students of Beauxbatons!”
Unlike the last time, the backdoors opened slowly, almost elegantly. Then entered the beautiful omegas and betas of Beauxbaton, they all were clad in knee length light blue dresses made with silk, along with pointy light blue hats.
The beauxbatons students started by smiling really brightly, they marched two steps forward and then blew a kiss on the right side of the audience leaving sparkly glitter and the scent of flowers behind.
Louis spotted some of the alphas catching the glitter in their hands and winking at the students, Louis rolled his eyes, he also really wished they didn't blow a kiss in his and HArry's direction since he was scared at the alphas reaction.
Of Course his wish was not granted and the beauxbaton students stopped in front of them and blew a kiss. The smell of flowers was so nice but all Louis could focus on was his best friend's reaction.
Harry just smelled the sweet scent and smiled, but that's it, he didn't wink or try to flirt with any of the students?
Louis was happy with that till he realised that Harry probably didn't react because of the omega he was kissing in the train.
It was never about Louis, his best friend was only staying loyal to the other omega. Louis tried not to dwell over it too much and went back to focusing on the Beauxbatons performance.
The students now reached the front of the room, they twirled around to face the audience and as they did so, birds and butterflies erupted from the hems of their skirts and flew into the audience, the Hogwarts students cheered at this.
Finally the students bowed.
The great hall once again applauded for the elegant performance.
Once again the back doors opened and a short and stout woman clad in baby blue suit entered, once again one could immediately tell this woman was their principal with just the way she carried herself across the room.
“Students please welcome the Principal of Beauxbatons Professor Oceane!” Then once again Professor Mcgonagall stepped down from the podium to greet Professor Oceane and show her to her seat.
Once all the newcomers had settled down, Professor Mcgonagall cleared her throat from her place at the podium.
“Hogwarts is very honoured to be chosen to host a legendary event that is held every 5 years I'm sure some of you have heard of or are already familiar with it, but for those who do not know, this event is called 'The Triwizard Tournament’."
Feverish murmurs bestrewed throughout the gym. Clearly the newcomers and the Hogwarts students alike were all equally excited for these events.
"The Wolf Games," the principal said gruffly, silencing the gym again, "is a series of contests that exist between three schools of choosing." Then she smiled proudly, “This year we have The Durmstrangs from Russia!”
The Durmstrang students cheered particularly loud at this, it seems like they knew a thing or two about school spirit.
“We have the Beauxbatons from France!” Unlike the previous group of students, these students clapped politely, remaining true to their elegant front. “And ofcourse Hogwarts from Britain!”
The whole great hall erupted in loud cheers, this time the hoots and claps were particularly loud seeing how Hogwarts did have the most students present.
The principal smiled proudly.
“Now that introductions are out of the way, I think it's time to tell you exactly what we will be doing this year in regards to the Wolf Games.” The principal turned serious then, making sure everyone took her words seriously.
Louis turned to Harry with an earnest excited expression, the alpha smiled back at him sweetly, the gesture made Louis blush and turned back to tune in to what Professor Mcgonagall was saying.
“I must make it clear to everybody that not only people who are 17 and up can participate in these games”
As soon as the principal said this the hall broke out into groans and outraged shouts. Louis even heard someone scream “THAT’S RUBBISH!” the omega just rolled his eyes at this, if people had read up on the tournament's history they would already know about this.
Before people could protest any longer Mcgonagall raised up a single hand and immediately the complaints stopped,Louis always marvelled at the amazing control she had over the students.
“The rules for the games are final and I shall not hear any more complaints!” then she cleared her throat, “As i was saying, the champions will not be chosen by any of the teachers, instead, students who wish to enter these Games will be tossing their votes into a special object”
Then she drew out her wand and did a swishing motion, immediately a table slided into the front of the room, upon closer look, Louis noticed there was smth on the table and it was covered by a big cloth.
“Right under this sheet,” then she did another flick with her wand and the sheet was removed to reveal a mysterious object underneath.
Immediately gasps and ‘Ooh’s’ filled the room, everyone's attention was solely on the giant Goblet placed at the front of the room. The Goblet was a large, roughly hewn wooden cup, brimming with mysterious, dancing blue flames.
“Now now students!” The Principal clapped her hands to bring the attention back to herself, “To enter, students who are of age and are wishing to submit themselves as champion have to write their name and school upon a slip of parchment and drop it into the goblet.”
The room was deadly silent, it seemed everyone was clinging on to the principal's words, desperate to find out more about these tournaments.
“The goblet will then choose the champion from each school by next week!” Next week? That's so soon though? It seemed everyone agreed as the room once again filled with hushed whispers and murmurs.
It seemed the Principal didn't care to make the students quiet anymore as she simply continued “I must remind you all, If chosen you stand alone.” Mcgonagall said the last part with such emphasis making sure everyone knew how serious the tournaments were “Do not take these challenges lightly as they are not for the faint hearted. Remember you can't go back once chosen.” The hall had fallen into an ominous silence at these last words.
“Well that's that! Eligible students can start putting in their names starting at noon today” and then she smiled “Without further hesitation, let the feast begin!”
Two feasts at the start of the year? Louis could get used to this.

Louis was peacefully studying in the library when his energetic roommate came and dragged him to the great hall because apparently after the Goblet of fire had been put into the room, it had become a popular meet up spot for students to sit and just watch the eligible put their name into the cup.
Everytime it happened the students in the hall would cheer, this would be fun for Louis except he is mad because his favourite study spot has been sabotaged by that big magic blue cup!
As usual Niall won and Louis found himself sitting in the Great hall, with a perfect view to the Goblet and the flame surrounding it.
Yes there was now a circular blue flame surrounding the cup, Louis immediately knew what it was and when Niall asked about it he was quick to explain that it was an age line to make sure no non- eligible students tried to enter.
All of that didn’t matter to Louis though as he was quite mad at the other omega because Niall didn't let him bring his books! To take revenge Louis made sure to sit with a bored expression and not enjoy one bit of his time there.
No matter how intriguing the blue flame was!
Louis was amidst his sulking mission when suddenly the laughter and light chatter quieted down when someone new entered.
Louis looked up to see it was the boy from Durmstrang, who kept staring and smirking at him, but what really made Louis confused is that he didn’t come alone, behind him Professor Dominick followed.
Who was this kid to be chaperoned by the literal Principal of his school!?
The boy walked up to the Cup and entered the flames easily, and then with his head held high he put his name into the Goblet, unlike other times no one cheered but people stared in awe.
I guess everyone sensed the dangerous aura this raven haired boy seemed to have.
As the boy was leaving he scanned the room before his eyes landed on Louis, and once again the boy smirked and Louis could swear he also winked at him.
Again!
What was his problem? What did he want from Louis?
Before he could ponder more about it the room turned cheery again as Liam and Harry entered.
“Woooo Hoooo!” Harry loudly cheered, “Students of Hogwarts fear no more your champion has arrived!” he said while pointing at Liam who just stood beside with a goofy smile on his face making everyone in the room laugh at their antics.
“They are such attention seekers” Niall giggled from beside him.
Louis just smiled and nodded in agreement.
“Here in my hand is the very parchment with my name on it!” Liam continued and the students cheered him on. “Who wants me to put my name in?” the students cheered louder.
“Do you want him to put his name in!?” Harry asked in a Louder voice prompting an even louder response from the crowd “Let's do it then!” and with that Harry pushed Liam to jump in the blue flame circle causing more hoots and with one final look around the room Liam put the parchment in.
The whole Great Hall clapped for him, the two alphas high fived and made their way to Louis and Niall.
“How was that for a show?” Liam asked with a proud smile on his face.
“It was so cool, like we really needed that after that strange Durmstrang boy ruined the mood” Niall replied instantly.
“Are any of you going to enter your names?” Harry asked, both the omegas shook their heads.
“No Louis told me so many horror stories about them I am too scared to do it” Louis frowned at Nialls response.
“Hey they weren't stories, they were actual events that happened!” he retaliated “but yes I must admit the Challenges of the tournaments are no joke so I did not enter either”
Harry seemed to smile at that, Louis was about to question him about it but Niall asked the alpha a question first. “Harry, why didn't you put your name in?”
The smile immediately left his face “well I have a lot on my plate this year with our N.E.W.T.S and you know Quidditch” he answered easily.
Hmm maybe Louis is just overthinking Harry’s weird behaviour.
“Well now that this is getting boring how about we go to Hogsmeade?”
Louis couldn't agree faster to Liams suggestion.

The day of the choosing ceremony had arrived and the whole school was buzzing with excitement, people had started bets and votes on who would be chosen as captain from each School.
Classes for the day had also been dismissed in order to prepare for the ceremony, all of this should be a reason to celebrate for Louis but the boy hadn't seen Harry all day and it was starting to worry him.
Usually on free days like today the two would be inseparable but the last he had seen the Alpha was the night before when they wished each other goodnight. Sure the boy was being weird and acting like he was in a rush but Louis didn't think it meant anything.
Maybe he was wrong.
It was now dinner time and Louis couldn’t even go on a search for him as all students were required to go to the Great Hall and Louis being the head boy had to make sure exactly that happened.
God sometimes Louis hated agreeing to this position!
When the last of the students had entered Louis also took his seat on the Ravenclaw table, right beside Niall.
Excited murmurs filled up the room and they only seemed to grow louder as Mcgonagall approached the podium.
“Now the moment you have all been waiting for” she did a dramatic pause “The champion selection!” Then she raised her hands to the oil lamps on the wall and immediately they all dimmed, this way everyone's sole focus was on the cup and Enchanting Blue flame it had.
Then Mcgonagall walked up to the cup and touched it with both her hands for a few seconds and backed away a few steps, the flames of the cup turned a bright crimson for a few seconds before turning to its usual deep blue again, and with that something flew out of the Goblet.
It was a piece of parchment! Excited whispers filled the room, everyone anticipating who the first champion would be.
Mcgonagall caught the parchment with ease and without any hesitation “The Durmstrang champion is Zayn Malik!”
The Durmstrang students broke into Loud hollers while the rest of the students looked around trying to see just who this ‘Zayn’ dude was.
When the boy walked up on stage Louis was shocked.
It was the same raven haired guy that kept looking at Louis strangely!
He is the Durmstrang champion? Louis did not have a good feeling about this.
Louis had so many questions and before any of them could be answered the boy had already walked up on stage and after shaking Mcgonagal's hand he was guided out of the hall and into what seemed to be the store room.
Then almost immediately the flames of the cup turned the same shade of crimson before returning to its original colour this time a baby blue parchment flew out.
Once again Mcgonagall caught it with ease, “The champion of Beauxbatons is Florence Martin!” she announced in a loud voice.
Immediately the Beauxbaton students started clapping, they didn't hoot or scream in order to maintain their elegant front, but this was the loudest Louis had heard them be so maybe their school spirit wasn't dead after all.
A beautiful and tall girl walked up to the front of the room in true elegant ‘Beauxbaton’ fashion. She had her head held high and there was an air of poise and control in her gait that hinted at her inner confidence.
The girl was a beta, it was clear because of the distinct lack of scent.
Florence shook the Principal's hand and just like Zayn, left in the direction of the store room.
Louis sat up in anticipation as he realised Hogwarts was next, and it seemed everyone was just as curious to know who was their schools beloved champion as it became very quiet all of a sudden, everyone waiting for the Goblet to throw out the next piece of parchment.
For one last time, the flames of the goblet flashed a deep red colour and out came a single white piece of paper, Mcgonagall caught it and read it, turning to us and said, "The Hogwarts champion is... Harry Styles!"
What? Was it really Harry? His Harry? Wasn't Harry uninterested in the whole tournament?
Louis stood up in shock, scanning the crowd for a head of curly hair, and he didn't have to look far because the Alpha himself had started walking to the front of the room.
All the students were cheering particularly loud for him, sure Harry was well loved but even Louis knew Harry wouldn’t enter the games for something as dumb as popularity, the alpha knew how dangerous these games are, Louis had told him countless ‘horror stories’ about these very games.
So why did his best friend enter himself? Why when he clearly stated before that he wanted no part in the tournament? What changed his mind?
It seemed Louis’ questions would be unanswered at the moment because Harry had already left for the store room.
"Great! We now have our three Warriors! But be aware, only one will go down in history... only one will hoist-”
“Damn i didn't know Harry had entered himself right Louis?” Niall looked at him and he instantly got worried “Louis? you okay ? you look kind of pale”
Louis stood up immediately “Niall I am gonna go to my room now, i don't feel too well, inform the head girl of my absence”
With that Louis left the great hall, climbed the multiple stairs that led to the highest tower where the raven claw dormitories were located , he said the password, ran to his room and on to his bed and cried.
His stupid knot head of an alpha just recklessly entered himself into one of the most dangerous games, and the worst part is he didn't trust Louis enough to tell him.
What is he going to do?

Louis twisted and turned for a good four hours that night before he decided that he would not be able to sleep until he met Harry himself.
After the champions were taken away they did not return for the entirety of dinner and even while Louis was escorting the students back to their houses he couldn't see a sign of Harry anywhere.
It was 3 am now, surely they would have returned to their rooms by now?
Louis got up from his bed and with quiet footsteps walked over to his roommate's bed, as expected Niall was sleeping like a log, the sight made Louis smile before he snapped out of it because he had an alpha to see and questions to be answered.
Unlike his alumni, Louis didn't have an invisibility cloak (yes Louis had heard the famous tales of Harry Potter and his nightly adventures) but he did have his wand and his extended knowledge of all types of spells.
He had always wanted to try the Disillusionment Charm (a charm that makes you temporarily camouflaged with your surroundings) and he finally has a reason to!
Louis quickly took out his wand and pointed it at himself and said the incantation in a quiet whisper “me invisibilia”
Louis watched as his hands turned the same colour as the carpeted floor and when he moved his hand to place it on the door, it turned the same oaky brown colour.
Louis smiled in triumph, how he loved being a wizard!
Louis then turned to the door and carefully and slowly turned the knob in order to make minimal possible noise, he tiptoed out of his room and went downstairs to the ravenclaw common room. Though expected, the sight of the empty common room made him feel relieved. He quickly went to the door and exited the Ravenclaw dormitory.
He was officially breaking school rules now, god he is gonna kill Harry.
The worst part about Louis being in Ravenclaw while his best friend being in Slytherin is that they are at opposite parts of the castle. While Harry's dorms were in the dungeons, Ravenclaws' dorms were literally in the highest tower.
This would be such a long walk, and he has to hurry up because he doesn't know how long the Disillusionment charm would work for.
So Louis climbed down the highest tower carefully making sure to make no noise, and went past the numerous paintings on the walls. He knew behind one of those paintings was the Gryffindors dormitory, but he didn’t know which one. He’d have to ask Liam later.
Finally Louis arrived at the dark and cold dungeons, okay he knows Slytherins were supposed to be a bunch of dark wizards but giving them such a scary and cold place has to be against some school rule. Poor Harry, must he really live like this just because his ancestors fought on the wrong side during the war? So unfair!
However all complaints left Louis mouth when he entered the dormitories (yes he knew the password, it's called perks of having a slytherin friend)
The room was decorated with green lamps and dark chairs and leather sofas, the common room extended underneath the Great Lake which gave the room a green tint. The walls were decorated with tapestries and a large mantelpiece that contributed to the grand rather than cosy atmosphere of the room.
Louis forgot all slytherins came from a long line of wizards so they all were rich and thus their dormitories are built like the literal Kings room, okay now THIS was unfair.
Louis would have to deal with this issue later as he had much more pressing matters on his mind right now, with that Louis quickly made it upstairs where he knew the boys rooms were located, and he knocked on the door that clearly had Harry written on it.
No way! They got single rooms as well? How unfair!
As soon as the doors opened all thoughts left Louis' mind and he just jumped to hug his best friend, he didnt realise this before but GOD he missed Harry.
“Blue?” Harry sounded confused “What are you doing here at this hour?” He also didn't sound groggy or like he just woke up so he probably couldn't sleep either.
“Couldn't sleep, not until I saw you and made sure you were okay” Louis’ voice was muffled because he had his face pressed in Harry's neck, he took his face out for a moment “I also need you to do some explaining” and then snuggled once more in Harry's neck.
Harry just smiled at the omegas antics and easily carried him to his bed, he sat down with Louis still snuggled to his neck except now he was also placed on the Alphas lap. He pried the omega out of his hiding spot and just looked at him.
“I missed you too” the Alphas words made Louis pout.
“Why didn't you tell me anything?” the omega now sat up properly “Why didn't you tell me you enter- actually wait, WHY DID YOU ENTER?” Louis suddenly got angry “Do you know how dangerous these games are?!” he held the alphas collar “It's not a joke Harry why would you do this?!”
Harry wanted to laugh and pinch the omegas cheeks because Louis really looked like a disgruntled kitten right now, but he knew he would get the silent treatment if he said that so he instead opted for listening to the omegas angry rant and taking the punches (that felt like cat pawing at him) the omega kept hitting on his chest.
“You need to explain right now!” Louis ends with a final punch and then snuggles Harry’s chest.
“Well it was a last minute decision” Harry hugged the omega closer, “I did it last night on a whim, and I didnt tell you because i didn't get a chance to, I mean i barely saw you”
Louis got up again “oh yeah another question” he started in a faux sweet voice “Where the heck were you!”
The question made the Alpha flinch but he covered it up quickly “nowhere I was trying to find you actually”
That was a lie, Louis knew Harry was lying, but why? What was he hiding? What couldn’t he tell to his own best friend
Louis pouted but decided to let it go, he had more important matters to discuss now that Harry really was the champion.
Oh god....Harry really was the champion.
“Hey Lou what's wrong? Why do you smell distressed?” the Alpha was worrying for him, this was crazy, even now he was worrying for Louis?
“Harry, forget about me, what are you gonna do?!”
The alphas worried expression quickly morphed into one of guilt, he always made this face when he wanted to ask Louis to do something for him but he knew it would be asking for too much.
Louis didn’t care, he wanted to help his best friend no matter what.
“Spit it out Harry” Louis looked at him expectantly, ready to do whatever Harry asks him.
“well I was wondering if you could teach me some spells and trai-” before Harry could even complete his request Louis was already nodding his head
“Well that's a given! Did you think I'd leave you stranded and alone to fend for yourself?”
Before Harry could answer, the omega had stood up with a sudden determined look on his face.
“When is the first task?”
“ummm they said it will be held in a week”
Louis' eyes widened in shock “That early?!” the omega started pacing the room, he did that for a few minutes before stopping in front of the alpha again “Did they give you any hints or tell you what it would be?”
Harry just shook his, seeing Louis be so worried for him made him amused, his best friend was so cute.
“You know what this means…” Louis paused for dramatic effect while Harry just stared at him in curiosity, “We have to look for clues by ourselves”

It was two days after the whole champion selection ordeal and so far they had found nothing. Louis had spent all his free time in the library reading every available history book for some sort of indication on what they could expect from the first task but they were all so vastly different from each other.
EXCEPT!
“AHA!” Louis stood up abruptly, and then he realised he was still at the library and the librarian was glaring at him, Louis smiled at her apologetically and sat back down in his seat.
His discovery was a big one and he really needed to tell Harry, luckily the next class was potions and ravenclaw shared it with the slytherins.
Louis quickly collected his things and put them in his bag and headed straight for the potions classroom.
Potions classroom was in the dungeons, near the slytherin's common room, kind of why it was Always surrounded by the students of said house. This time was no exception, as soon as Louis reached the dungeons, students clad in slytherin uniforms were gathered outside the classroom, waiting for their professor to arrive.
Class was not supposed to be in another 15 minutes, do they really have to camp outside like that?
Before Louis could ponder more over this he spotted the very alpha he was looking for.
Harry was sitting on one of the benches, surrounded by his friends as usual, and he was laughing so cutely at something one of his friends said, it made Louis smile too.
Louis really loved Harry ,and even if the alpha didn't return his feelings, Louis would do everything he can to protect this boy and his precious smile.
With that thought, Louis walked up to the alpha and he didn't even have to call out for his attention as his friends beat him to it.
One of them whistled “Harry your omega is here” even though this statement confused Louis, he was further bewildered by the alphas reaction.
He just looked up at Louis and smirked, why was he smirking? To distract himself from the sudden attention, Louis cleared his throat “I need to talk to you Harry” he hated how shy and small he sounded.
The whole group jeered, some even wolf whistled the whole thing made Louis blush and he just wished the Alpha would get up fast so they can go somewhere far away from all of these people.
Harry just got up with the same stupid smirk still plastered to his face,seemingly unphased if anything the alpha looked even more confident now, always the type to bask in attention Louis rolled his eyes, then he grabbed the alpha by his shoulders and dragged him away before anyone could say more.
Once they reached a quiet corridor where no one could eavesdrop on their conversation, Louis stopped walking and turned towards his best friend, who by the way, still had that weird smirk on his face.
“Stop that oh my god!” Louis said in an exasperated tone, he could never understand how the alpha does not cower at the constant attention he gets, the attention only increased ten fold now that he was chosen as the champion but this guy didn't seem to be nervous at all, if anything he got even more confident.
Louis was jealous of that, it was no secret that he had major social anxiety and that often held him back from truly enjoying his school experience as he was always scared of being judged.
He was drawn out of his thoughts when Harry laughed “What is it blue you look like you're gonna explode with how hard you’re thinking”
Louis slapped the alpha playfully “Shut up i actually have something super cool to tell you” he waited till the alpha stopped laughing and looked at the omega with a questioning look “there is a pattern to the tasks”
This seemed to only make the alpha more confused and he made a dumb “huh” sound so Louis explained further “Basically I read the history of the triwizard champions to figure out what we can expect this year, and though all of them drastically changed there was a certain similarity to the objective of each task”
Harry seemed more interested now as he stood up taller, urging Louis to go on and explain further.
“In the first task you will probably have to show your combat skills. For example, last time they had the contestant fight against dragons and before that they had to battle trolls!” Louis finished in an excited tone.
“Damn Blue you really are the brightest wizard in our year! “ Harry whistled, making Louis blush at the compliment, “so what do you think we will have to go up against this year?”
Louis thought about it for a second before he spoke up “well since the thing you have to fight has to be alive and well dangerous they cant hide it in the school somewhere, that must mean they probably kept it in the-”
“The forbidden forest” Harry completed and Louis nodded in agreement “but how will we go there to check out my opponent?” Harry wondered out loud.
“That's my main concern as well, i was thinking of disillusionment charm but we don't know how far ahead we have to go and i am not sure the charm for long” Louis got in deep thought again.
After a few minutes Harry spoke up “you know…we could always work with poly juice potion?”
Immediately Louis shook his head “won’t work, brewing poly juice potion requires a lot of time and we don't have much of that , besides once we figure out what you’re up against we also have to train you for being able to fight it”
“Who said anything about brewing it? ” Harry had the same confident smirk back on his face, but Louis didn't get it so he just stared at him with a frown, making the alpha laugh.
“What I mean my dear Louis” Harry pinched his cheek making the omega blush “is that we steal it” he finished with one last squish on his face and then he dropped his hand, waiting for the omega to process his words.
Louis jumped, “Are you crazy!” he whisper-screamed and judging by Harry’s amused expression it seemed the alpha really had lost it “We could get expelled!”
“That is if we get caught” The alpha said in a matter-of-fact tone “It's simple we use the disillusionment charm to break into the potion master's room, we grab the poly juice potion and we get out of there before we can get caught” he finished with click of his tongue and leaning against the wall like he really hadn't just told them a plan on how to steal something.
Louis simply gaped at Harry, and before he could reply to him the bell rang indicating that it was time for class.
Harry ruffled Louis’ hair “Think on it and if you decide to come with me, meet me here again at midnight” and with a wink he headed for class.
God did he frustrate Louis!

It was midnight and Louis was not in bed.
He can't believe he was doing this, but he knew Harry needed him, the alpha may act all confident but he didn't know as many spells as Louis and couldn’t possibly do this without him, so despite his initial hesitation, Louis found himself breaking a rule and stepping out of the ravenclaw dormitory for the second time in the span of a few days.
What has his life come to?
Maybe it's because Louis has done this before but the distance from the Ravenclaw dormitories to Dungeon didn't seem to take long this time and before he knew it he reached the dark and damp place where the slytherin dormitories as well as the potions classroom was.
Louis walked cautiously trying to find any sign of the alpha however he wasn't there, didn't he say midnight?
Louis was just turning the corner to walk back to his dorm when suddenly his arm was pulled, he wanted to scream but the hand on his mouth restricted him, his back softly hit the cold dungeon walls, before the omega could kick or hit whoever this was, the person's face became visible.
It was Harry?!
Louis wanted to tell him off for almost giving him a heart attack but their close proximity suddenly became apparent to him and all the complaints died. Harry also seemed to realise the sudden change in air as his expression became serious and he stared at the omega with an unreadable, strange expression.
It almost seemed the Alpha was leaning forward and Louis instinctively closed his eyes, he could feel Harry’s breath on his face - he was close- Louis stopped breathing, just waiting for what the alpha does next, he really hoped the taller couldn't hear how fast and loud his heart was beating.
Then suddenly fingers were touching the stray strand of hair on his face and tucking it behind his ear. With that the alpha stepped away clearing his throat.
“C’mon Lou we have to hurry up” and walked turned away from the omega.
Louis was glad the other wasn't facing him because his cheeks burned with embarrassment, what was he expecting? The alpha did NOT like him. Louis tapped his cheeks and forced the embarrassment and his feelings to go away, or well be hidden again. Then he stepped towards the alpha “Let me perform the disillusionment charm”
The alpha smiled and then nodded at him, the tension from before forgotten.
Louis pointed the wand at the alpha and whispered shouted the spell, almost instantly the boy in front of him camouflaged with his surroundings, Louis smiled, proud of his work. Then he did the same to himself.
When both of them were successfully camouflaged with their surroundings Harry gestured Louis to get moving and to officially start their plan.
They both quickly, with quiet steps, walked towards their potions classroom and opened the door, the creaking sound made both of them wince and they both paused.
When no teachers, or prefects came they both sighed in relief before continuing to enter the classroom.
The potions class was a wooden room that was large enough to allow at least twenty students to work and its walls were lined with pickled animals in glass jars. It would gross Louis out when he first came but now he was used to it. They however weren’t here for the ingredients to make potions, rather they wanted potions that were already brewed. They knew those were kept in the store at the back of the room.
They quickly walked towards the store room and tried opening it only to find it was locked. Harry looked at Louis, asking him to do something about the situation. Louis smiled reassuringly before pointing his wand at the door and with a clear yet quiet voice he whispered “Aloha Mora!”
Immediately the door opened and Harry smiled before hugging him “What would i do without you!” Louis pushed him jokingly but really he was trying hard not to blush at the praise.
The store room was already small as it is and with two shelves placed on opposite walls the room was almost suffocating, the shelfs were filled with potions and finding the potion was not going to be an easy task Harry sighed “I guess we better get searching”
The alpha was about to walk towards the closest shelf but Louis stopped him when the alpha looked at him all confused, Louis just smiled before pointing his wand at the shelf and whispering “Accio poly juice!” and immediately a bottle landed in Louis' hand.
When the Apha looked at him shocked at what happend Louis just tilted his head sticking his tongue out in a teasing way while holding up a peace sign.
“I am in love with you” Harry said in an exasperated voice making Louis giggle, he knew the alpha was kidding and meant it in a platonic way.
Now that they had the potion Louis wasn't sure what came next, i mean they didn't have anyones hair so who would they even turn into and also everyone was sleeping so there was no way they would be able to retrieve hair. Damn Louis really didn't think this far ahead but that alpha didn't give him any time wither what was he supposed to do,
He was brought out from his inner monologue when Harry suddenly took the bottle from him and poured them in two shot cups - where did he get that from? - then he put a bit of hair in each of them - where did he get hair from? - and then he handed one of the cups to Louis.
Louis just stared at him confused, Harry looked at him in a questioning way before it seemed to click to him that Louis knew nothing about how he got those things. “Do you really think I would ask you to do this unprepared? I got the hair from Hagrid and Flitwick. As long as we avoid them no one would question why we are going to the forbidden forest, now drink up!” and with that the alpha downed the whole thing in one go.
Louis just nodded at the information that was dumped at him before also following suit and also drank the potion all at once, and Oh my god that was horrible! Louis winced at the burning taste he felt like he was drinking puke, it was the worst thing he had ever tasted.
Louis coughed at the horrible burning sensation that started spreading throughout his body, he crouched as he felt like his body was melting when Louis looked at his hands he found them bubbling up almost like hot wax, Louis would scream but all he could muster was a pained gasp and then all of a sudden it all stopped, Louis knew the transformation was done and it was further confirmed when he looked at his hands only to find them in a wrinkly and frail state, so he was flitwick now, and he looked up to find Harry- no hagrid -crouching on the floor as well, so he wasn't the only one who thought he was gonna die huh?
He got up slowly getting used to the weak body Professor Flitwick apparently had, did his joints really hurt this much when he moved? Then Louis turned towards the gigantic body still leaning on all fours.
“Harry you okay?” Thankfully his voice was still his, he did not want to be the owner of that naselly and irritating voice even for a short amount of time.
Harry nodded at him before getting up- and oh my god was this man tall- Harry seemed startled by his own height as well because his eyes shot wide open and he almost tripped on himself, Harry was already very tall as compared to Louis, because while the omega stood at 5’7 the alpha was 6 ft tall! However now it was a whole different story, the man standing before him was standing at 8 feet tall.
“Damn how does Hagrid live like this?” Harry said as he struggled to even stand straight, not yet used to how much he had grown, and then he looked at Louis and he suddenly smiled “Louis you look so small and cute from up here, i never thought i would find flitwick cute, yet here we are” Louis just laughed at the silliness of the alpha.
“If you’re done getting acquainted with your new height can we please go?” It had been an hour already since they had started and while Louis didn't have night patrolling duties this week he had to be up early since he had morning prefect duties, they had to hurry if they wanted to make it back in time.
When Harry got the hang of walking again he quietly exited the potions room- as quietly as a 8ft man can- and headed straight for the school grounds that led to forbidden forest.
“Okay so I will stand in front of you so my body is shielded from any onlookers, since flitwick doesn't frequent the forbidden forest as much as hagrid does, and they most certainly never do it together, so it should seem that hagrid is going alone. Got it?” Louis asked Harry, the alpha just nodded taking his place behind Louis. “If someone approaches you just tell them you have confidential business in the forbidden forest” Harry nodded again.
The trip to the forbidden forest didn't take long and thankfully they were not approached by anyone, as soon as they entered Louis and Harry immediately took their wands out and lighted up their paths, now that they had gotten in they had to figure out where the possible opponent could be hiding.
“Damn it's going to take so long to search for this thing, and we don't even know what it is!” Harry said in a frustrated tone and Louis agreed, this could take days to find but they didn't have so much time on their hands.
They were getting ready for a long night of searching when Louis noticed something “Oh my god Harry look!” he pointed towards a pathway, the alpha looked at the pathway and looked back at the omega confused.
“Yea its a pathway Louis, there are so many pathways here that lead to all possible ends of this forest” he said in a bored tone making Louis shake his head.
“No, I mean look closer, compared to the other paths, this one has footsteps on it! Obviously the opponent needs a caretaker or something so it must be frequently visited by someone, I think if we follow these footsteps we could possibly find what the first task has in store for us!” Louis said in his excited high pitched voice.
Harry smiled and ruffled the omegas hair “Louis I am so glad we became friends and that i have you to help me right now, i would have been totally lost without you!” Louis blushed at the compliment.
“You don't have to thank me Harry, I’ll always be here for you” he replied back shyly making Harry’s smile grow at the precious words.
Before Harry could reply though, the omega had already started walking, he was always so shy, Harry just shook his head fondly and followed suit.
They walked for a few minutes before they started hearing strange growling noises, both the boys looked at each other clearly confused at what could make that sound, it was a very low and pained growling noise and occasional snaps could also be heard.
As they approached the point where the path was ending Harry gestured to Louis to hide behind the trees as they were not sure what could lie ahead and from behind the trees they peeked their heads to try and find out the source for those noises..
A loud gasp escaped Louis when he saw the horrible sight in front of him.
The creature resembled a human in appearance but something was strange, it's like it had gone rabid or something, it was biting and snapping into the air and growling loudly, frustrated at the chains that bound it. The creature was emitting this horrible rotten smell that made Louis retch a little, it was clearly hungry.
“W-what is that” Louis was startled by the alphas tone of voice. He sounded almost…scared.
“I am not sure but I think…it's a zombie” God even saying that out loud sounded so childish. Zombies were something told to young wizards and witches as part of stories, they were supposed to be a myth, nothing but fictional creatures, yet here they were, standing before Louis’ eyes, not one but three of them.
Harry looked at him all shaken up “I thought those weren’t real?”
Apparently they were wrong, zombies were very much real and Harry was supposed to defeat one in a week's time.

The rest of the week was spent with both the boys practising combat spells and forming a strategy to successfully finish the first task. They both had used the room of requirements and in a week's time they came to a few conclusions that made them feel at ease.
They were sure that in no way would Professor Mcgonagall allow these creatures to be lethal, so maybe the poison will be sucked out of their teeth or some other measure must have been taken to make sure no one gets seriously hurt.
They also realised that these brain dead creatures would be particularly easy to fight as long as you were ready for them and since they were sure the other schools didn't know about them, their chances of winning were looking pretty high.
That brings us to the day of the first task everyone had started collecting 2 hours before the match was even supposed to begin in order to get good seats, looks like everyone was really looking forward to the 1st triwizard task.
Louis on the other hand was nervous and despite being prepared he couldn't stop himself from feeling anxious, to make matters worse he hasn't seen Harry at all since he was called after breakfast for some newspaper interview.
“Y’know if you wanna see him you could always go and visit him in the champions waiting room” Niall suddenly spoke up from beside him startling Louis.
He forgot he was there “I don't wanna see Harry, what makes you say that?” okay so maybe he said that a little too quickly and a little too high pitched to be believable but who cares?
Niall just raised his eyebrow and gave him an unimpressed stare “Oh i don't know, maybe you shaking your leg constantly and you immediately knowing i am talking about harry even though i didn't take his name are pretty big indicators” the sarcasm in his voice made Louis roll his eyes.
“I don't want to distract him” he said a little sadly, Harry was probably surrounded by all his friends right now he didnt wanna disturb that.
Niall slapped him on his shoulder and OW! That freaking hurt! “Niall what the hell?!”
“I need you to stop being dumb and go there right now or so help me god!” Niall was scared when angry so without arguing further he just left.
The champion waiting room was basically a separate tent near the bleachers, it was a big space where the players were left alone before the match so they could prepare or just compose themselves.
Louis was currently standing outside staring dumbly because he really didn't know what to do next, should he just go in, were visitors even allowed inside?
Before he could think further he was approached by someone- No! It was the Russian champion with the staring problem! Zack probably- the raven haired boy stopped in front of him and smirked at him “What is a beauty like you doing here?” wow his english was kind of good, but more importantly was he flirting?
“I-i was looking for H-harry” he really needs to learn to keep his social anxiety in check, the stuttering was so embarrassing.
The raven haired alpha frowned “Him and you, are you both together?”
Louis got all red at the implication and he so desperately wished he could say yes, he wished he could call Harry his but sadly that was far from the truth so he shook his head “No just friends I just came to check up on him” the alphas expressions calmed down and he looked kind of relieved? Huh?
“Good.” and with that the alpha went inside the tent, to say Louis was confused with that whole exchange would be an understatement but he couldn't ponder over it further as the alpha he was actually for him finally showed up.
Harry peeked out from the teeth, smiling all dimpled “I know i heard the sound of my favourite omega” and with that he hugged the blushing omega.
However after a few seconds the alpha freezed in his hold and pulled back frowning “What did that russian want” Harry sounded scary and that startled Louis because he had never seen the other be like this.
“Nothing, he was just asking me why I was here” Louis answered immediately, releasing calming pheromones to cool down the alpha.
The alpha went back to his embrace, but it was different now, he was holding Louis tighter,it hurt a little but he stayed quiet knowing the alpha needed this to calm down he just patted the taller’s back hoping he would let go of whatever was bothering him.
“He needs to stay away from you, they all do” he said the last part in a growl, his hold on Louis growing tighter, what does Harry mean? Who is after him? He however did not question anything and just held his best friend calming him down with his pheromones.
A camera flash broke them out of their little bubble “Bravo! Young love comforting each other during the gruelling first task! That will make a good headline!” It was a tall woman with a camera and apparently a notebook and pen followed her everywhere she went and seemed to be writing everything she told it to.
Louis knew her! It was Reeta Skeeter! She was known for twisting up words and getting out fake stories, Louis didn't like her one bit.
Harry instinctively stood in front of him shielding his form from the camera lens “You can't be here, this is for champions and their friends only!” The stern tone would scare most but it only made Reeta smile wider.
“So protective! Tell me Harry, what does the young omega mean to you” she asked eagerly, clearly wanting something juicy for her newspaper.
Before anything more could happen, Professor Mcgonagall along with the minister of magical sports came “Whatever is going on here?” Mcgonagall looked between Harry and Reeta “Reeta please excuse us as we are about to introduce the task” Reeta just smiled and left immediately, god she is so fake! “Dear Harry come along inside the first task will begin shortly, and Louis honey go back to the bleachers you're not allowed here” and with that Mcgonagall went inside the tent without a second glance.
“Okay this is it, good luck Harry, remember I am rooting for you!” Louis did a little celebratory fist shake making Harry smile at him fondly and ruffle his hair.
“I’ll win this for sure so don’t worry too much” with that he kissed Louis’ cheek and went inside the tent.
It was finally time for the first task, Louis only hopes all their hard work pays off.

Louis was anxiously waiting for the first match to start, his leg wouldn't stop bouncing even when Niall told him off for doing it about three times now.
He had heard from the commentator that since Hogwarts was the host for this year's tournament, their champion will be the first one to compete, and while this rule could be a beneficial thing for Harry, Louis couldn't help but feel uneasy.
Louis watched as a big wooden crate was brought and placed in the centre of the stadium, as soon as it was placed the confused murmurs from the crowd began, Louis seemed to be the only one that knows what monster laid underneath.
Maybe they had amplified the monster's voice but the growls could be heard all the way to spectator seats, the sound made Louis cringe however everyone else gasped in horror while also discussing what could possibly make such a sound.
If only they knew.
Suddenly Louis heard a loud and cheerful voice over the speaker “Hello everyone are y’all ready to get this show on the road?!” Louis didn't exactly recognize that voice “I am your host Micheal Clifford! ahh the name was familiar, it was one of the more popular kids in their year, this boy was also one of Harry’s friends, he was also seemingly really good at his job as his voice instantly made the crowd cheer, the horrific sound from before was apparently forgotten.
“Alright our first contestant is our Hogwarts very own, everyone please give it up for Harry Styles!” Once again the crowd broke out in a loud cheer and chanted Harry’s name, Louis was sure some of the students from the other schools were also cheering him on. The cheers and hollers only got louder when the alpha entered the stage.
To Louis’ surprise he did not look nervous like before, instead the alpha was smiling and waving at the crowd looking relaxed as ever.
“As soon as the bell rings, the crate will be lifted and the match will start, the champion has to defeat the enemy and find the golden egg within. Wait what? The egg was inside the zombie? That's new, Louis only hoped Harry was prepared for this. Are you all ready!?” The crowd roared clearly wanting the match to start already. Louis watched as Harry took his place in front of the crate, his wand already out and at the ready.
Not even a minute later, the bell rings and the crate is lifted revealing Harry’s opponent, the zombie.
The crowd gasped upon seeing the revealed monster, not believing that these things were actually real and existed outside of story books and old folklores.
The zombie was not facing Harry at first but slowly, while clicking and twitching the creature turned around, as soon as its eyes locked with Harry, it growled so loud the noise startled Louis, it was frightening, however what's more scary is the way the zombie instantly started running towards the alpha, ready to attack.
Harry pointed his wand towards the zombie “Bombarda!” he screamed and the zombie was sent flying back due to the explosive spell, the crowd was silent, watching on to see if the zombie survived that attack.
To everyone's surprise the zombie immediately stood up like it was never hurt in the first place. “I guess that's the perk of being half dead, you can't feel pain that well.” Niall spoke up beside him. The zombie started advancing towards the alpha again, growling angrily. “They can't feel pain but I guess they do hold grudges” Louis snorted at his roommate's comment.
As the zombie approached, Harry backed away a bit, the monster did not seem to like that one bit and it angrily jumped on the alpha, making Harry fall to the ground, with the zombie still on top.
Louis clasped Niall's hand, watching the match with worry written all over his face.
The only thing that kept the zombie from biting Harry, was his wand, which was troublesome because until now Harry was relying on his wand to attack the monster. He put his knee between himself and the zombie to create some distance and with the split second of time it took for the zombie to balance itself in the new position Harry pointed his wand at the creature and stupefied it, rendering it unconscious.
The alpha pushed the zombie off of him and then slowly stood up and pointed his wand at the zombie “Accio golden egg”
Nothing happened. Of Course it did not if accio could work on the egg the champions could do that from the start and rip the egg from the zombies body from the start rendering the whole task easy. Judging by Harry's reaction the alpha knew this and merely wanted to confirm it because he didn't look disappointed, he instead pointed the wand at the sky “accio blade”
The crowd gasped “Is Harry Styles really gonna do what i think he is gonna do?” as soon as the commentator said that a blade flew in the stadium and landed in Harry's awaiting hands. With the blade the alpha cut open the zombie's stomach and took out the golden egg.
The whole thing was too gory so Louis just looked away but judging by the commentators exaggerated sounds of disgust and the whole crowd wincing, Louis had an idea on what had happened .
“Well Harrys has the golden egg so a win is a win! Everyone please applaud for the first task's first winner!” The Hogwarts students cheered particularly loud at the fact that they were the first ones to get victory in the first round. Harry raised the bloody golden egg and smiled at the crowd, seemingly basking in the cheers. Then he was escorted by the staff back to the waiting room.
Louis didn't know it before but after Harry won he felt a huge weight being lifted off his chest and he suddenly felt tired and wanted nothing more than to go to sleep. So he got up and patted niall's shoulder “I am gonna go rest, tell me what happens with the rest of the champions and if Harry asks tell him i am in my room okay?”
The blonde haired omega smiled at him reassuringly “Don't worry Lou and just rest well!” Louis smiled back and left the stadium.
Hopefully he can take some good rest.

There was someone else in his dorm, Niall? But then why was Niall in Louis’ bed instead of just going to his own? The person was caressing Louis’ hair and saying something that the omega couldn't understand, however the sensation was still soothing nonetheless. As Louis tried to move he realised his face was pressed to the person's chest, it felt strangely calm and safe and Louis decided this was his favourite place in the whole world, he nuzzled closer. As his senses started coming back to him he realised he knew that scent, it was Harry!
Was this a dream? Wasn't the alpha supposed to be at the champion waiting room? How long has Louis slept for?
The alpha then changed their positions and instead buried his face in Louis’ neck, they stayed like that for a bit. Louis still had his eyes closed and was just about to go back to sleep. Then Harry did something surprising he started giving small tiny kisses to Louis’ neck, it was kind of ticklish but Louis let him be, he was now convinced this was a dream so he made sure he didn't accidentally wake up and ruin everything/
“My sweet and beautiful omega” Harry mumbled in between kisses, it made his heart flutter and he tried not to think too much about the fact that this was all happening in his head; perhaps it's a lucid dream and he can control what happens, that is the only way Harry's current behaviour could be explained because only god knows how many times Louis wished for this very thing to happen to him.
After a while Harry got up and Louis almost whined.
Or maybe he really did whine because Harry giggled before bending down to press a kiss to his cheek, then his other cheek then one final kiss on his forehead “Love you so much boo bear” he caressed Louis face before Louis felt the bed dip and he heard the sound of footsteps along with the door opening briefly before it closed leaving nothing but silence behind.
Louis sighed thinking about how even in his dream Harry had left him, that was the last thought he had before he gave in to sleep once again.

This time Louis woke up to the sound of Niall coaxing him to get up.
“Buddy you have been asleep for 12 hours and I would normally let you get your beauty sleep, but your alpha all but threatened me to feed you and to take care of you” Niall's voice made Louis smile tiredly before he stretched and yawned, slowly getting up.
“What time is it?” Louis asked, still busy stretching and cracking his back.
“Firstly stop that you might break your back” Niall scolded, hitting him amidst his attempt to twist his body and getting a satisfying pop out of his back, “Secondly its almost dinner time you slept for so long! like I thought I sleep alot but you broke my record as well”
Louis rolled his eyes, he wanted to tell the other omega that it was because he has not slept properly in almost week because of the first task but well he wasn't prepared for the lecture would probably get about how he was doing too much for an alpha, like yes he is but Harry isn't just any alpha for him. Speaking of the alpha “Hey did Harry come to visit me?”
Niall thought about it for a second “Hmm its highly unlikely because he has been busy after the first task, i heard he was going to try and figure out the hint for the second task”
Louis made an ‘o’ with his lips before nodding, huh so it was a dream after all, well Louis expected it so he wasn't very disappointed. “Also what happened after I left? How did the other contestants do?”
That made Niall perk up and he jumped on Louis’ bed excitedly “Oh my god Louis you totally missed out on so much!” The blonde omegas excitement was very contagious and Louis found himself jumping on his spot in curiosity wanting the omega to tell him everything “The beauxbaton girl almost got bitten!” Louis’ eyes widened in shock.
“What!? HOW?”
“Well the zombie was approaching her and instead of using any spell she tried to go for a hand to hand combat for some reason and it almost bit her and then you won't believe what she did!” Niall paused for dramatic effect, Louis was almost gonna hit him to make him continue “she took out her claws and tore the zombie with her bare hands” Louis’ jaw dropped in shock.
Ofcourse! Beauxbatons champion was a siren! She was beautiful but had the ability to kill anyone with her bare hands. Dang it Louis really did miss out! “That's insane…” Louis said, still in shock.
Niall nodded in an ‘i told you so’ way. “The durmstrang student kind of played it smart and just froze the zombie before killing it and getting the golden egg, very boring, almost yawned” Louis laughed at his roommates commentary “ If they were getting graded on performance he would be last”
“Luckily it wasn't a point based task, however I heard the next task will be graded so they have to do their best.” Louis thought out loud.
“Who cares about the next task? We have another big event coming!” Niall said happily, making Louis confused.
“What is it?”

“The Yule Ball is approaching” Miss Mcgonagall announced as she walked inside the Hogwarts music room. The room had been turned into an auditorium of sorts with the benches pushed to the two opposite sides of the room, leaving lots of space in the middle.
They were being given this seminar in groups of two houses, during first and second period it was Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs turn, and now after lunch it was Slytherin and Ravenclaw’s turn. As much as Louis wanted to sit with Harry, the seating arrangement had been made to put Alphas on one side and Omegas on the other. As for the betas, they were divided depending on their gender.
“Yule ball is a traditional part of the Triwizard Tournament, it's an opportunity for us to socialise with our foreign guests, and of course a chance for us all to — er — let our hair down.” She said the last part a bit awkwardly and upon seeing some of the students snicker she turned serious “But that does NOT mean that we will be relaxing the standards of behaviour we expect from Hogwarts students.” She stared sternly for a few moments to make sure the information synced in. “Now, the ball will be open only to fourth years and above, although you may invite a younger student if you wish. Dress robes will be worn, and the ball will start at eight o'clock next Sunday, finishing at midnight in the Great Hall.” Then she clasped her hands together.
“You all are here because during the Yule ball it is tradition for an omega and alpha pair to dance, since I am sure most of you have less than adequate dancing skills, Hogwarts has taken the liberty to provide you with special dancing lessons.” Excited chatters spread around the room, everyone was clearly happy with the idea of the yule ball.
“First I’d like to call upon two students to demonstrate the proper dancing technique” immediately students started avoiding mcgonagall's line of sight, clearly no one wanted to be chosen. Louis wished he didn't sit in the front row, he had no one to hide behind now!
As soon as him and Mcgonagall and him made eye contact he knew what was gonna happen next “Louis dear why don't you c’mon up”
Immediately Louis felt his face flus, he just hoped he didn't look too much like a tomato. He knew every person in the room had his eyes on him and that made his skin prickle uncomfortably. He quietly walked up to his principal's side and looked down at his shoes, not confident to look anyone in the eye.
“As for the alpha…. how about Harry you come up since you seem so eager” Louis didn't know what she meant by the eager part and frankly he didn't have time to think about it because omg are he and harry about to dance? In a room full of people?
He wanted to panic because they were really making him dance and hold hinds and be in close proximity with his crush but when he looked up, Harry was smiling at him, it was a warm and reassuring smile and immediately Louis was reminded that this alpha may be his crush but he was also his best friend and biggest support system.
Suddenly Louis didn't feel scared or anxious anymore and he smiled back at the alpha as they came to stand face to face.
“Now the Alpha keeps one of their hands on their partner's waist, while the omega keeps one of their hands on their partner's shoulder and then they hold their remaining hands together like this” Mcgonagall said all the while fixing their positions so that they were in the ‘traditional’ dancing pose.
Standing this close, their height difference became apparent to Louis and while the omega hated when someone commented on his height, right now he couldn't get his heart to calm down because of how tall the alpha was in comparison. He looked up at the alpha to see Harry having a sort of dazed look on his face, almost like he was holding himself back from doing something and when they locked eyes, the grip on his waist tightened. Louis was about to ask the alpha about his weird behaviour but suddenly Waltz music started playing and both of them looked at Mcgonagall in confusion.
The principal just smiled “Now you do these 5 basic dance steps: Step forward with the left foot, Step to the side with the right foot, Close the left foot to the right foot, Step back with the right foot, Step to the side with the left foot, Close the right foot to the left foot.”
She finished it with an expectant look on her face waiting for them to dance, but how was Louis supposed to remember all that she said it all so fast he looked at Harry with a pleading look on his face.
“Don't worry Lou-Lou just follow my lead” and when the music started again the grip on his waist tightened and he felt his feet leave the ground as Harry swerved them around the whole room. He could hear the other students catcalling and hooting, it made him feel nervous, did he look like a total fool? What if he trips and messes everything up? It was getting hard to follow Harry with all these thoughts occupying his brain and he stepped on Harrys foot twice.
“Sorry, i didn't mean to do that” Though the alpha didn't wince or even show that he was in pain Louis still felt bad.
“Boo bear don't focus on others just look at me okay?” He looked at the alpha to find him smiling at him reassuringly, as soon as he saw that, the world around Louis went quiet, it was like it was just them in the room. No one else mattered.
So they waltzed around the room, Harry turning the omega around in his arms with ease and swerving them around the room as instructed by Mcgonagall. At that moment Louis felt so happy, he forgot all about his troubles, the second task, his social anxiety. This is why he fell for Harry; the alpha always made him feel at ease, he made him feel like everything will be okay.
“Okay that's enough” Mcgonall instructed after a few minutes, “Everyone please give them a hand that was a very good example of what a Yule ball dance should look like” Louis blushed at the praise and looked at Harry with a smile, the alpha smiled back and then they both parted to go back to their seats.
“Now when I play the music I want all of you to get on your feet and dance!”
Oh dear, more dancing…

“Harry, wait up!” Louis stopped the alpha after their ‘dance class’, Harry was with his friends and usually Louis didn't like interrupting him when he had company, but he had to ask about the looming second task that was only 2 weeks away.
The Alpha asked his friends to go on without him and then turned to Louis smiling brightly “Hiya blue, didn't we have so much fun dancing together? What do you say we also go to the yu-”
“Yeah it was fun but I have something really important to ask you” Louis didn't mean to interrupt but he was kind of running late to his transfiguration class.
Harry looked a little disappointed for some reason but he gestured to him to continue nonetheless.
“Did you figure out the hint for the second task?” When Louis mentioned the second task Harry suddenly looked anxious. Did something go wrong?
“About that…” Harry started slowly “I thought like the previous years we needed to open the egg underwater but it didn't work and instead took out this really horrendous screeching sound” Harry rubbed his ears at the reminder of the pain “It hurt really bad…” Harry finished with a pout making Louis smile fondly.
“Well of course it didn't work, the game makers aren't stupid they would never repeat what they did in the previous years, there has to be some other way to find out the hint and don't worry we’ll figure it out!” Louis finished by putting his fist in the air, almost like he was going for battle.
Harry ruffled his hair “I am glad i have you lou”, Louis just smiled cheekily at the praise before he remembered how he was running late for class.
“Oh no! I am sorry Harry, I'll talk to you later but I really have to go now” and with one last apologetic smile the omega was gone.
Sigh maybe Harry will ask him some other time.

Louis keeps seeing him everywhere.
It was that Durmstrang boy with the staring problem. Zayn. After their weird encounter in front of the champions waiting room before the first task Louis had honestly forgotten about his existence, but after they announced the Yule ball all he sees is the raven haired alpha.
He saw him during breakfast; usually the Durmstrangs eat at the slytherin table but Zayn purposely sat with the ravenclaws which already made a few heads turn, but then the whole time Louis felt him staring at Louis. It made Louis feel weird but he let it go.
Next, he saw him when Louis was picking out a book to help him with his potions homework in the library, the Durmstrangs student came out of nowhere, stood super close to Louis and reached up for book in one of the top shelfs and maybe Louis was being delusional but it does NOT take that long for a person to take out a book from the shelf. Again it made Louis feel very weird but he let it go.
Now though, Louis has had enough and he vowed to himself that if the alpha does something weird like that again he will give him a piece of his mind.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) Louis didn't have to wait long before it was time to tell the annoying alpha off.
It was one of the few rare times Louis wasn't busy with his studies or his head boy duties, he was just taking a walk in the Hogwarts garden, trying to relax. Suddenly he heard the sound of footsteps behind him, he looked back to see Zayn walking behind him, the alpha looked nonchalant as ever, almost like it was a coincidence.
But Louis knew better, however he ignored it, giving the other a chance to leave this situation and not face the wrath of Louis Tomlinson. After a while though it just got annoying for the omega and he turned around abruptly stopping in his tracks.
The raven haired boy didn’t look shocked in the slightest. It annoyed Louis. “What is your problem?” The alpha simply raised an eyebrow as if he had no clue what Louis was talking about “Why have you been annoying me and following me all day? What do you want from me?” Louis was proud of himself because he said that really firmly without his voice shaking.
Then the alpha smiled and wow this man is kind of attractive huh? Wait, what is he thinking? Louis shook the thoughts out of his brain and instead crossed his arms waiting for the other man to explain.
The alpha cleared his throat “I have been watching you Louis” pfft well that's obvious “since the moment I laid my eyes on you I have been infatuated….and i want to take this opportunity to ask you if you’d like to go to the yule ball with me so we can get to know each other” Zayn said the whole thing rigidly and very quickly but it still left Louis feeling shocked, he was not expecting that at all, the words were so touching and Louis definitely didn't take Zayn to be the romantic type and the way the alpha couldn't even meet his eyes anymore told Louis that his assumptions were right.
He had never been asked out by an alpha since he got to Hogwarts, sure he has gotten anonymous love letters in the past but no one has ever given him a face to face confession before, to say it made his heart flutter would be an understatement, he was about to reply but Zayn interrupted him “You don't have to give me your answer now, you can think about it” and yeah maybe Louis needs to think about this, so the omega simply nodded.
The alpha noded stiffly at him before turning around and walking away.
What just happened?

"Has someone asked you out for the yule ball yet?"
The question caught Louis off guard and that was exactly why he choked on pumpkin juice he was trying to drink.
Harry was already at the breakfast table when Louis entered the great hall and though Louis found it strange that the alpha didn't even greet him properly when he sat down, he brushed it off for the sake of enjoying his meal.
But what's with the sudden question? Louis looked up at Harry after he could breathe again properly and gulped.
Does he tell Harry about Zayn, but even he isn't sure if he is going to say yes.
His thoughts were interrupted when Harry spoke up "I want us to go together to the Yule ball"
This time Louis was glad he decided to finish his juice later because he is sure this statement would have ended him. What's gotten into Harry?
"Y-you and me?" Louis knew he sounded dumb but he really was dumbfounded where all this coming from and the weird part about all of this was that Harry wasn't meeting his eye the whole time.
"I figured we could figure out the golden egg hunt for the next round in this way and I will finally have a reason to reject the many people who keep asking me to go with them" Harry shrugged and oh.
So Harry was only asking him to the dance because he wanted them to figure out the next task? Ouch, That kind of hurt Louis and made him angry, he decided he had enough of always being used by Harry in this way.
Louis stood up abruptly "Actually Harry you're gonna have to find someone else because I am already going with somebody!" and with that Louis stormed out of the great hall.
He wasn't all that hungry anyway.

Telling Zayn that he had agreed to go to the ball with him was easy and it went smoothly, the alpha had smiled so sweetly at him, he felt guilty that he was only going with him to get over Harry.
Speaking of Harry, Louis had been avoiding the alpha since he stormed out of the great hall, he wasn't ready to face the alpha; he was not ready to explain his reaction to the alpha’s request because usually Louis would agree to help out.
What made this time different? The thought made him frown, why did the yule ball tick him off so much? Was it because he wanted Harry to ask him out the way Zayn did? He didn't want to go to the ball with Harry if it was only to help him with the task he wanted the reason to be something more.
Was he expecting too much?
His thoughts were interrupted by the door bursting open.
It was Niall with the biggest smile on his face, oblivious to Louis’ inner turmoil. With no energy in him to do anything, the omega just stared at his roommate.
He noticed the other had a package in his hands “Lou-Lou look what came in the mail for you!” Niall's excited voice made Louis more curious than ever and he raised his brow in question.
Niall deflated at Louis' indifferent reactions “C’mon Lou-Lou show some excitement, some enthusiasm!”
Louis just sat up straighter on his bed, put an exaggerated smile on his face “this good?” Niall just rolled his eyes and threw the package at him.
“It's from your mom, quickly open it!” Niall jumped on bed with him, peeking over his shoulder curiously.
Louis stared at the packaging and stared fondly at the note attached to it, ‘Surprise’ it read and Louis could hear his mother.
Louis carefully removed the packaging making sure it doesn't rip and gasped at the contents inside.
It was a gorgeous royal blue and black dress robe; he was also given a beautiful white under shirt with ruffle on the collar and sleeves; as expected his mother knew his taste very well, he loved the outfit she picked out.
If only he was going to the ball with the one he liked.
Louis got rid of the negative nods and quickly got up making Niall frown up at him. “I have to tell Zayn about the colour of my dress robes since I am going with him and he'd wanna match” Louis murmured.
“What!?”Niall got up suddenly and held both of Louis’ shoulders “You’re going with Zayn? What about Harry? When did Zayn ask you out?” The onslaught of questions paired with Niall shaking his shoulders made Louis.
“Calm down Nialler, Zayn just asked me to go to the ball a few days ago while Harry asked me to go today, I choose to go with Zayn because he actually wants to have a good time meanwhile Harry only asked me to go so I can help him with his stupid task” Louis rolled his eyes at the last part “I like Harry alot but I am tired of being treated like this, do I not deserve better?” Despite his best efforts, the vulnerability slipped through his words and Niall looked at him sadly before hugging him.
“Hey I don't know what that knothead is thinking but never for a minute doubt that you don't deserve to be treated like a queen, and if Zayn is the one who will treat you well then you will have my full support” Then Niall pulled back from the hug and held Louis' face, wiping the omegas tears “now go, bag your date to the yule ball!” and with a slap to Louis' butt he was being ushered out of the door.
Louis hopes he is making the right choice

It was the day of the Yule ball, the rest of the week was spent in a flurry of preparations and dance practices for Louis and in between he was able to forget about the tiny (big) argument his best friend and he had.
After the argument, whenever Harry tried talking to him he would ignore him and would try his best to avoid the alpha. Louis knows he is being unfair but he had to do this for himself; so he can enjoy the yule ball instead of thinking about his best friend.
He was currently in the dorm being forced to sit in front of his dressing table with Niall using every trick in the spell book to make his hair look good. In the end he settled on side quiff deeming it sexy while still being appropriate enough for a school dance event.
Him and Zayn had decided on meeting outside the great hall and since Zayn was one of the champions then they will have to start the dance first before the whole school. Talk about no pressure.
Louis tried not to think about how Harry will bring some other omegas to the ball and he definitely tried to ignore the tinge of jealousy he felt in his heart at the thought. Whatever he did this to himself.
It was almost time for the ball to start so Louis quickly got up and headed down to the great hall.
As he was descending the stairs he saw Harry at the bottom and he could swear time stopped when him and Harry met eyes, the alpha had an unreadable expression on his face and his mouth was slightly open making him resemble a cute frog, it made Louis laugh.
Probably the first time he has smiled since their argument
Louis shook off the thoughts and realised that Zayn was also standing on the bottom of the staircase with his hand out ready to receive Louis, the omega blushed at the royal treatment he was receiving; he truly felt like a prince.
With a shy smile he took Zayn's hand ignoring everyone else around them.
“You look beautiful Louis” Zayn said in his usual rough voice but the words were sweet so Louis smiled.
“You look quite amazing too Zayn” Louis said cheekily and the alpha smirked.
Damn I know this shouldn't surprise me anymore but he is kinda hot.
Louis blushed at his own inappropriate thoughts and hit his head lightly. He needs to snap out of it.
“We have to line up in front of the great hall…” Zayn said after a bit.
God they both don't talk much….will they really survive the night? Louis sure hoped so.
“Let's go!” and then he was led away by Zayn.
McGonagall was in front of the gates ushering the students inside, meanwhile asking all the champions and their dates to stand on one side.
Speaking of champions and their dates: where was Harry’s date? Louis hadn't seen anyone with him. Is he going alone? Is that even allowed seeing as champions need to dance with their partners first.
He was just wondering when he saw her and immediately his blood boiled when she stood next to Harry.
It was the omega from the train, the one Harry was kissing. What is this? Are they going out? Louis didn't have much time to ponder since McGonagall made him and Zayn stand directly behind Harry.
Great now he gets to stare at the two while they talk and laugh amongst themselves. Why is nothing going his way
“Are you ready Louis?” Zayn's question bought him out of his jealous thoughts.
“Huh? Oh no I am not that great of a dancer” Louis was being honest he couldn't, no matter what, remember the steps to the dance neither could he stop accidentally stepping on his partners shoes. The amount of times he has to apologise to the people he had to dance with during practice is just embarrassing.
“Don't worry, you don't have to do anything, just follow my lead” the sweet words made Louis blush and he almost felt bad he was thinking about another alpha when he was with him. He nodded and smiled up at Zayn.
Then the gates were finally open and it was their cue to enter, a red carpet had been laid out for them with students on either side. He spotted Niall waving with a big smile, Louis smiled and waved at his roommate.
Then once they reached the middle of the dance floor the champions and their dates were made to face each other. They stood like that for a few seconds and then the music played, a cue for them to start dancing like they practised.
Louis just followed whatever Zayn did and tried not to trip over his feet or step on the alpha's toes. Zayn was smiling at him so maybe he wasn't doing as bad as he thought. For a moment he could forget about Harry or the fact that the whole school could be staring at them right now.
After a while Louis looked around and he was surprised to see everyone else had also joined them on the dance floor. He must really be lost in thought. Louis just wished it wasn't obvious.
After the first dance ended the band they hired; witch direction started playing their more upbeat songs and immediately all the students broke their pair formations and did the more natural dances they were comfortable with.
When Louis heard the song he gasped and immediately looked up at…Zayn. Right it wasn't Harry, Zayn would never understand why this song meant so much to him.
It was his and Harry's song. They would dance like crazy to this song in Louis' room. It was their favourite song.
Louis' mood was officially ruined and as he was about to excuse himself from the dance floor he was tapped on the shoulder.
It was Harry smiling excitedly at him, Louis couldn't help but smile back, he looked back at Zayn feeling guilty to leave him out but the raven haired boy just smiled and nodded asking him go ahead.
So Louis turned towards Harry and they immediately did their silly little dance together. It was a routine they made together when they were just kids but they both still knew the steps and the joy Louis felt at that moment was unmatched.
Only Harry could make him this happy, only Harry could make him forget all his problems.
Once the song ended Louis and Harry just stared at each other with the biggest smile on their face, for a moment it felt like Harry wanted to say something before he changed his mind and the smile from his face faded “I- I think you should go back to your date”
Oh right. Louis just nodded at Harry before walking away from him, even though everything in his body wanted to run back to his best friend,he couldn't, Harry wasn't his.

The party was just ending and Louis' feet were literally begging him to stop dancing, Zayn led him away from the dance floor and excused himself to get drinks. That's when he saw it.
It was the beauxbatons champion, Florence. Usually Louis would overlook the presence of a foreign student being weird but the fact that Florence was a champion and she was acting very secretive; making sure to look in all directions before exiting the great hall made Louis curious and he immediately got up to follow her.
He followed her at a safe distance so as to not get caught while also not lose sight of her. The beauxbatons student went into a dark hall and pulled something out of her purse.
It was the golden egg! How did that thing fit in her purse? More importantly, why did she bring it to this dark corner?
Once she made sure she was alone she opened the egg, it made no noise! Though Louis couldn't see what the hint was he now knew what he had to do to help Harry figure out the hint!
He had to confirm it though and with that thought he quietly headed back to the great hall, where the person he wanted to meet was waiting for him with a drink in his hand.
“Thank you Zayn “ Louis smiled politely while taking the fruit punch from the boy's hand. He took a sip to consider how to approach the topic. “So Zayn…” the alpha immediately turned his whole attention towards him. “Have you figured out the hint from the first task yet?”
The raven haired boy looked confused for a second before it seemed to click and then his expression became kind of…disappointed? “Louis, did you only agree to come to the dance with me to help your alpha friend out?”
Huh? No way is that what Zayn thinks? Louis immediately shook his head “No of course not! That's not who I am at all, I was just curious is all, I mean I have always been the biggest fan of the Triwizard tournament and so I am just interested in the tasks, I promise I have no other secret objective for asking you.” Louis is aware he was rambling, he was also aware that some of what he said was not true but hey it looked like the alpha was convinced since he looked relieved.
“Well yes I have figured out the hint, it was quite easy since the durmstrang tents are in a dark place” Zayn seemed kind of shocked by how much he has revealed “Sorry Louis but I can't say more.”
It's okay Zayn you have said everything that was helpful. “It's okay you don't have to tell me anything, I was just curious.” Louis smiled innocently up at him. Damn he could be a villain!
After that the ball was practically over and Louis was called over by McGonagall and he was told to make sure all the students made it back to their dorms.
Louis had a great time but he was still glad that it was over.

The next day Louis got up all excited. He was so looking forward to finding out what the hint was, okay maybe he was too invested in a game that he wasn't even a part of but hey it's more fun when it has nothing to do with you!
Louis has spent the entire night thinking of how to tell Harry, were they okay now? After that dance Louis had not seen Harry, so maybe he went to his room early. In the end he is going to pretend nothing happened and just tell Harry the news like normal.
Since the yule ball ended late into the night the classes for the day had been cancelled. That's exactly why when Louis went down to the great hall to have breakfast only a few people were there. Louis noticed that Harry was also sitting alone at the Slytherins table. Immediately Louis took a seat beside him, it surprised Harry but he was still greeted with a smile so Louis will take it as a win.
“Did you sleep well?” Louis asked awkwardly, this was so not according to plan he was supposed to act natural not ask him dumb formal questions. When Harry did nothing but give him a slight nod Louis decided to just get to the point “I have figured out the hint!”
Okay so maybe Louis said that a little loud but the hall was almost empty so not a lot of people witnessed that embarrassing moment.
Harry looked up at him in shock and immediately sat up straighter “What is it? How did you figure it out When did you figure it out”
Louis put both his hands up in stop motion “there there one at a time dear Harry” once Harry seemed to calm down Louis continued “I figured it out last night and I confirmed it with Zayn” at the mention of the other alpha something flashed in Harry's eyes and he scoffed.
Louis raised his eyebrow “is there a problem Harry?”
Harry looked at him with an annoyed expression “I don't trust that Alpha, how do we know what he told you about the hint is actually a trick” the alpha's voice became a little loud and what was his problem?
“Hey he didn't straight up tell me the answer he just let something slip and I just used my common sense to connect the dots why are you hate Zayn so much”
Harry looked furious then and Louis would be lying if he said that look being directed at him didn't scare him “Why are you defending him so much? What does he mean to you!?”
Louis stood up abruptly, he can't keep taking this horrible attitude from Harry, the task was in less than a week and yet here Harry is focusing on useless things instead of the task “I am not defending anyone! He is just a friend! Whatever I don't need this attitude from you just open the egg in the dark you jerk!” and for the second time in a span of a few days Louis angrily stomped away from his best friend.

Harry's pov:
It was the day of the second task and Harry didn't feel ready at all, he had opened the egg in the dark after Louis had stomped off angrily and the hint just showed a calendar that kept flipping back and then it suddenly stopped at 1995. It was the same day and month as the task just the year was set to 30 years back. Harry tried hard but he couldn't figure out the hint.
He knows Louis would know what to do in a heartbeat but everytime he tried to talk or apologise to his best friend, he would just ignore him.
His Lou really was stubborn.
Him and the rest of the champions were made to wait in a separate tent much like the first task except this time Harry really had no clue what the task was going to be.
It was just 5 minutes before the task was to start when he heard someone calling his name from outside.
Is it Louis?
He quickly went outside only to be disappointed when it wasn't his Lou but Niall instead. Nonetheless he greeted him happily “Hey Nialler what's up? Where is Louis”
Niall rolled his eyes in amusement “ I don't where Louis is, he was called to McGonagall’s office in the morning and I haven't seen him since, before leaving he gave me this and asked me to give it to you….so here” and then Niall handed him a small folded piece of paper.
Harry took it “Thanks Niall you're the best” Niall just winked teasingly before he left.
Harry went to a secluded corner and sat down before unfolding the parchment, it was clearly Louis' writing and it said:
“bulla caput…..use it right before the task”
The message clearly confused Harry, what did the incantation do? Since Louis is the smartest wizard Harry knows, he decided to trust him.
Just as Harry put the piece of paper away in his pocket Professor McGonagall entered the tent “Okay champions it's time for the second task now, unlike the first time you all will be going together and the task won't be revealed until a few seconds before it starts” with that she gestured them out of the tent in an orderly manner.
Harry would be lying if he said he didn't feel nervous, usually only scienting Louis would calm him down but since the omega was nowhere to be seen he decided to just make do by holding the note that had Louis' writing.
All the champions were made to assemble at the shore of the black lake that their school had. Suddenly it became clear to Harry what the task was.
The hint had a clock going back to the year 1995 that's when the last Triwizard tournament in Hogwarts was held and their task was to be able to swim underwater for an hour and save something precious to them. Suddenly Louis' note made sense; it was a bubble head charm!
Harry had no more time to think as Mcgonagall’s voice boomed throughout the whole school. “Something precious has been stolen from all 3 of you, you each have 1 hour to retrieve what has been taken from you.”
What's something precious to me? Harry couldn't figure it out at all. What could it be?
His pondering was cut short by the sound of the whistle indicating the start of the second task.
Harry quickly took out his wand and performed the incantation on himself before jumping in the water.
It was pitch black in the pond and Harry couldn't see an inch ahead of him, he used his wand to create to be able to see and was surprised to see something attached to his mouth, it was a bubble and it allowed him to breathe pretty well.
Harry knew he had limited time so he quickly started searching for a possible thing that could belong to him. He was just about to start randomly in any direction when he felt something move past him swiftly.
Harry pointed his wand in the direction of the movement only to see a glimpse of the tail of a merman.
Of Course these lakes are protected by merpeople, I bet that merman went in the direction of the stolen items.
Harry quickly swam where he saw the merman go and tried his best to keep up. In the end he was led to a place that made his gasp.
There, confined by vines were three ‘items’, a beautiful gold tiara with diamonds, maybe because it was a smaller object between the three it had more vines protecting it. Harry knew this didn't belong to him.
Next there was a big wooden box with a boar emblem on it, it looked like it had a lot of important things inside, however one thing was for sure, this didn't belong to Harry either.
The last thing confined by vines was his Louis, and it made sense, there is nothing in this life that is more important to him than Louis, Louis was the most precious thing in his life. Immediately he knew what to do.
He quickly swam up to the omega and tried his best to undo the vines with his hands, it was a struggle but after a while one of it came undone and one of his best friend’s hands were free, he quickly started working on undoing the other hand.
During his struggle another presence came beside him, it was the Durmstrang boy Zayn. Harry hated the boy with a burning passion.
The Zayn boy immediately pulled out his wand and with some inaudible incantation all the vines became undone at once.
Right he has a wand and he should use it!
He quickly points his wand at the vines and performs a spell that immediately undo’s all the vines, he grabs Louis and quickly swims to the shore, finally taking a deep breath.
Louis stirs in his arms seemingly surprised by his surroundings before he turns around and hugs Harry tight.
“You saved me?” The omega asked innocently.
“Always.” Harry replied without missing a beat.
He brought Louis to shore where they were immediately given towels to dry off.
“And we have our second winner, it's Hogwarts' very own Harry Styles!” The crowd cheered at that and Harry looked happily at his best friend, who was smiling back at him.
They did it, with his current points Hogwarts was definitely in the lead.
He hugged Louis once again, squeezing his body three times before the boy was being ushered away by the medics.
He still had lots of questions to ask his best friend…maybe later.

Louis' POV
After being dried off and changing into something else clothes, Louis headed back to his dorm. As he was about to climb the stairs to Ravenclaw tower he was stopped when someone held his arm.
It was Harry.
“Louis I need to talk to you” Harry looked so desperate “please”.
Louis sighed before nodding “let's go to my room”
Harry smiled and then silently took his hand and led them to their dormitory.
Louis knows Harry wants to apologise and usually the omega would avoid him but Harry literally saved his life in the task, he knew it was part of the task but even after he won, Harry didn'tet go off him and held him close, not until they were at shore.
Harry took care of him.
Once they reached Louis' room, Harry left his hand and instead made himself comfortable on his bed. Louis on the other hand kept standing close to the door.
He was suddenly shy.
The alpha just smiled at him before calling him over by tapping the space on the bed beside him, Louis shyly walked over with his head down and sat down with his best friend.
“My lovely Lou…” Louis looked once Harry started talking only to find the alpha staring right back with an odd look on his face. “There is something I have wanted to tell you…” Louis nodded for Harry to go on, suddenly nervous at what the alpha possibly wanted to say.
Harry held his hand “Louis I like you…alot” Louis gasped, he couldn't believe what he was hearing, how could Harry, his long time crush ever like him? “I didn't realise this before but today at the task I couldn't think of a single thing or person that was more precious to me than you, no one has ever mattered to me more than you, there is no one in this life I want to protect and cherish more than you. I want to be yours forever, and I want you to be mine.”
The whole time Louis wasn't even sure if he was dreaming or hallucinating there was no way this was happening, where was any of this coming from? “Harry I- I- you- “ he stuttered not knowing what to say, it was as if the words had been ripped from his mouth.
“You don't have to say anything right now, I know for you this must be out of nowhere even for me this realisation is kind of new, you can take your time and tell me your answer later.”
As much as Louis wanted to be happy and tell Harry about how much he wanted to be his as well, there was one thing that kept bothering him.
“Harry I think you're rushing this” Louis put up a hand when the alpha tried saying something “maybe what you realised during the task was how much our friendship meant to you, I don't think it was an epiphany about your feelings for me.” Harry frowned at that and Louis just looked down at his hands willing himself not to cry “I like you Harry, alot, and I have liked you since we were kids” He could feel Harry stare at him in shock but he didn't dare look up “and because I have liked you for so long I think I know what you feel for me is nothing but platonic, liking you doesn't come easy” a tear dropped down Louis' cheek “I have to tolerate all the other people fighting for your attention, I have to be satisfied with just being your best friend because it's better than being nothing” the tears were falling freely now “I have to be okay with you sleeping other people, I have to be okay with you kissing other omegas” Louis then looked up at Harry “I am so grateful you consider me as someone precious but that does not mean you like me, I can't believe that, I am sorry.”
“Louis but I do like you! I know my feelings for you, I know what they are!”
Louis smiled sadly at his best friend “I am not sure I can believe that I am sorry” he repeated.
Harry looked like he wanted to say something else but they were interrupted by Niall barging in, when he looked at the tears in Louis' eyes and Harry's worried face he stopped in his tracks “ummm is this a bad time?”
Harry cleared his throat before getting up “no I think we are done with the conversation now, I'll go back to my room it's getting late anyway” and with that the Alpha left.
Niall looked at Louis with a confused face which morphed into an expression of worry once Louis started crying, loud.

Louis doesn't think he has cried more in his entire life than he did in that one week. Niall had been kind enough to have gotten him excused from his classes and his head boy duties for the week to allow him to rest as much as he wanted.
Truth was Louis' heart was hurting and he was regretting his decision with his entire being, his brain kept coming up with what ifs and scenarios where he had accepted Harry's feelings, that version of him seemed happier. However Louis knows what he did was right, as much as it hurt he knows Harry doesn't like him like that and even if he would have said yes then the happiness would have only lasted a few weeks before Harry would have realised the reality of his feelings for Louis and how platonic they are.
It would have hurt more then, because then Louis would be attached, he would be addicted to the feeling of being Loved by Harry. Then the heartbreak would hurt ten times more.
Louis made the right decision.
It was the day of the third task and as much as he didn't want to leave his room, he still wanted to go and support Harry because before anything the alpha was his best friend.
Harry had tried to come visit him but Louis had strictly told Niall that he wanted to meet no one. Louis didn't even go down to the great hall for his meals, opting to just accio the food to his room.
He missed Harry but he knew seeing the alpha would just make him cry more, and he was tired of crying.
The morning had been gloomy, if it hadn't been for Niall pushing him out of bed and forcing him to get ready, it would have taken Louis ages to do so. He felt oddly numb, maybe all that crying drained all the emotions out of him.
As soon as he made sure his post crying face wasn't obvious he made his way towards the door informing Niall that he would be waiting at the bleachers; saving him a seat.
Maybe because it was the last task of this year's Triwizard tournament, but the crowd seemed even more loud today, all the students were showing their school spirit by holding up sign boards or wearing their school colours.
Louis himself had the Hogwarts emblem painted on his cheek by Niall.
The third task was being held at the quidditch ground. The goalposts and the pillars had been removed temporarily to make space for the task.
Louis tried his best to find seats that were at a good height while also making sure their view was good and he saved a seat for Niall too, just like he promised.
As the omega watched students slowly fill the stadium he wondered about what the third task could be.
From what he has read about in the history of the tournament, all the tasks have a similar purpose; the first task is about showing combat skills, the second task is about protection and bravery skills and the third task always seemed to be a mix of the two, it usually tested all the qualities of the champion.
No matter how hard Louis thought he wasn't sure what the third task could be.
His thoughts were interrupted by Niall plopping down beside him, his hands filled with snacks.
“Damn Loueh you got us some real nice seats!” Niall said loudly, munching around some chocolate dipped pretzel wands.
Louis just smiled in satisfaction, he sure did get lucky with these seats.
As soon as Niall passed him some chocolate frogs to enjoy a loud voice sounded from speakers.
“Wizards and Witches, are you ready for this year's last Triwizard tournament?!” the commentator asked in a loud and cheerful voice making the whole crowd roar in agreement.
Niall himself had stood up on his seat and was waving his Hogwarts flag while chanting the school's name.
“To recap, let's look at the total points for each player…” this made Louis perk up in his seat, somehow whenever the points would be announced after the matches, Louis would not be present so this was the first time Louis got to see who was in the lead and how well Harry was doing in the games.
“First up we have Beauxbatons fierce champion: Florence Martin!” particularly loud cheers were heard from one section of the stadium, that must be where the beauxbatons were seated “In the first task Miss Martin faced a setback and almost got bitten but her fighting spirit and her strong will made her overcome that and she was able to defeat the monster successfully, in the second task she did come third but still managed to bring back her stolen object. Miss Martin currently has 60 points!” The whole crowd applauded for the beauxbatons amazing performance throughout the tournament.
“Next up is the Durmstrangs powerful champion: Zayn Malik!” the loud stomping of foots surprised Louis but he guesses that's just how they celebrate in Russia, mesmerizingly the stomping was in sync and it seemed to echo in the whole stadium. “Zayn completed the first task in record time and his agility was also seen in the second task when Mr Malik was the first one out of the water with his object safe in hands. Zayn currently has 85 points!” This time the crowd went crazy, they all though Florence did well but Zayn's performance shocked everyone, he was currently in the lead.
“And now for our very own Hogwarts champion Mr Harry Styles!” without meaning to Louis found himself clapping Loudly along with the crowd, no matter what he was really proud of Harry for coming this far in the tournament. “Harry Styles had the best time in the first task, his gruesome defeat surely left us all shocked but he still managed to defeat the monster and get the egg, in the second task Harry had little problem untying the vines but he still managed to get second place. He currently has 70 points!”
70 points means Harry was in second place and still had a chance at winning the tournament!
“Now that we all know about the champions current situations let me also tell you that the tides could easily be turned around for the last task is worth a whopping 100 points!” Loud murmurs could be heard from the crowd, if it's 100 points then that means “That's right! Winning this round will make you this year's Triwizard Tournament's official winner! The winners will not only receive the beautiful Triwizard Trophy but they will also be receiving 1000 galleons!” amazed oohs could be heard from the crowd, the tournament prize was pretty generous.
“So without further I do, let's call out our champions!” The crowd erupted in cheers to welcome the 3 chosen students.
That's when Louis saw Harry after a whole week, he looked…weak. It wasn't in a frail way but more of a defeated way almost like he had the energy to do nothing. Usually Harry would smile brightly up at the crowd and blow kisses but right now he had his back hunched and a constant frown on his face.
Louis wonders if something bad happened before the task.
“Now that all of our champions are out we will reveal the third task!” As soon as the commentator said that a big large mirror started rising from the ground it kept growing until it reached around twenty feet of height, upon closer look Louis realised 3 more mirrors were also rising from the ground forming a box shape, then another mirror slid on the top creating a perfect mirrored box.
“Ladies and gentlemen what you're seeing may look like a nice mirror cube but in reality it's a maze!” The crowd ooh’d in amazement “the champions will have to go inside the maze and find the Triwizard cup, the first one to find it will be our winner!” that's it? There has to be a twist “Alright champions stand on your starting lines, when the horn sounds you shall start finding the cup, remember if you go unconscious or find yourself at a dead end you will automatically be considered out of the task. Make sure to be careful for you might just lose yourself along the way…” as soon as those ominous words were said the horn sounded and immediately 3 doors opened up in the maze, the three champions entered it and the opening was immediately sealed right after.

Louis thought they wouldn't be able to get updates about the match but suddenly McGonagall flicked her wand and a big screen was brought out of thin air and it showed all the champions pov’s. Louis wonders if there are cameras or some super advanced spell.
“Hey Niall did they do this in the last task?” Louis was curious if everyone saw Harry saving him (Louis would never admit to blushing at the thought).
Niall looked up from where he was counting his snack and nodded “Yep! People really went crazy when they saw what Harry's precious object was” Niall said while making finger quotes around the word object.
Before Louis could answer loud gasps could be heard from the crowd making him bring his attention to the screen immediately.
The first thing Louis noticed is that it was a mirror maze, secondly it was very foggy inside, you could barely see through it. As he squinted and looked closer he realised the reason the crowd gasped was because the Beauxbatons champion was being chased by a werewolf!
She was trying her best to avoid the wolf meanwhile also throwing jinxes over her shoulders to try and hit the monster. The wolf seemed to be really good at dodging and was only getting closer.
Then it happened in a split second, maybe in the frenzy to lose the wolf off her trail, Florence forgot to look where she was going and when she finally did it was too late and ran full speed at a mirror, falling to the floor after. The French student was unconscious.
Florence Martin was out of the task.
What shocked Louis more was when the werewolf transformed into none other than Zayn Malik!? This was new information for most of the crowd as they all gasped in horror, not believing what they were seeing; The Durmstrang student was an animagus!
Once he was back in his human form, the raven haired boy smiled sinisterly and for the first time Louis found him scary and felt himself shudder.
Then the screen switched to Harry and Louis was shocked to see how far ahead the boy had gone. The alpha was very careful with his steps, his wand had a constant beam of light illuminating his path, his free hand was also in front of him to make sure he didn't bump into mirrors.
What Louis found really strange was the fact that even though the big screen showed the view of the whole maze multiple times, he couldn't find where the Triwizard cup was placed anywhere. Maybe they concealed it from the audience on purpose to maintain the element of surprise?
His thoughts were interrupted when suddenly they heard a loud crash from the big screen; something was happening inside the maze.
It was the maze itself and the sound was of the mirror breaking as the maze became smaller, forcing the two remaining champions to get close to each other.
Harry and Zayn weren't very far from each other to begin with and when the maze started closing in on them they had no choice but to run deeper in the labyrinth to avoid being crushed. As soon as both the boys met in the middle it turned into a combat field and immediately both the alpha's started throwing jinx after jinx at each other to eliminate their opponent.
They had to avoid the constantly shrinking mirror walls while also avoiding the spells the other kept throwing.
In the chaos of the whole situation Harry managed to stupefy Zayn and the raven haired boy fell to the floor. You could see Harry hesitating for a moment, contemplating whether he should help or not, in the end Harry knew Zayn would be safe and would not die in the maze, so he
went ahead, leaving his opponent behind. The mirror closed in, taking Zayn with it.
The Durmstrangs were also out.
Even though Harry was the only one left in the maze, it didn't mean he had won, because the task's goal was to find the Triwizard Trophy.
So Harry kept walking, he could slow down as the mirror walls had also stopped drastically shrinking. He soon came to the centre of the maze, still the cup was nowhere to be seen. Just mirrors wherever he looked.
That is until something glimmering caught his eye, he walked to the shiny mirror frame and realised that it was different from all the other mirrors because its frame was gold unlike the usual oaky brown.
Harry gasped loudly when he saw what was written on the frame: ERISED.
When Louis saw that it all immediately made sense to him of course all the champions wanted nothing more than the Triwizard Cup and since they didn't exactly need the cup for their personal use the cup would be manifested into their hand.
He watched as Harry stood in front of the mirror and took a deep breath, ready to win and take the victory for Hogwarts.
Then something strange happened.
One second Louis was on the bleachers waiting to see what happens, the next thing he knows he is in the maze standing right in front of Harry.
The boy looked around confused, it all happened so fast, how did he get here?
He then faced Harry who just looked shocked “Harry what's going on? Why am I here?”
The alpha flinched when he spoke almost like he couldn't believe Louis was actually there “L-Lou I-I didn't see the c-cup” the words were confusing and Louis didn't know what he meant but all he could focus on was the way the tallers voice kept breaking.

“What are you saying Harry, how could you see me in the mirror, you're supposed to want the Trophy.” Louis said in a low comforting voice still trying to calm the alpha down.
Harry nodded “I know but I didn't want the Trophy, not if you weren't by my side” Louis wanted to interrupt but the alpha stopped him “this whole week when I couldn't see you, I felt like I couldn't breathe and I thought about it Lou- I REALLY DID!” Louis just hugged the alpha in his hold trying to shush him and calm him down.
“We can talk about it later Harry” but Harry shook his head, stepping out from the omegas embrace again, the taller cleared his throat.

I was almost about to punch Zayn when my friends forced me to go to my room and retire early for the night.” Harry looked down at his hands “if it wasn't for them I’m sure I'd have a criminal record on my hands” he chuckled humorlessly.
“I know I said I only started liking you from the second task but that's not true, I have always liked you Lou, from the moment I saw you struggling with you bags, I knew you were going to be someone special to me, and you are, I know this isn't the best way to do it but, Louis I apologise for hurting you and for not being clear about my feelings, please forgive me and give me a second chance, I'll do anything” Harry looked desperately at Louis, pleading with his hands clasped together.
Louis took Harry's hands and held them close to his heart and smiled at the alpha “okay, I know we still have loads to talk about but I forgive you Harry” and finally after a whole week the alpha smiled, and he smiled big, quickly pulling Louis in for a tight hug, kissing his head multiple times making the omega giggle in joy.
“Okay Harry now quickly manifest the cup before the walls start shrinking again” Louis said in between giggles trying to escape the alpha's grip.
Harry smiled fondly at Louis before letting go and standing in front of the mirror once again. In a few seconds the Triwizard cup was in front of Harry. The alpha took Louis' hand and with the other he touched the Triwizard cup which he knew was a port key.
Within a few seconds they found themselves outside of the maze, the whole stadium cheering for them.
“Harry…” the alpha leaned down to hear what the boy had to say “now would be a good time to tell you that they probably heard everything we said inside…” Louis said, blushing furiously at the thought.
Harry just smirked at the omega “good, everyone should know.” Louis looked at his best friend surprised but the alpha only winked at him and then started waving at the crowd and showing them their joined hands.
Harry wanted to show him off to the world. Louis smiled at the thought.
“Ladies and gentlemen the winner for this year's Triwizard tournament is none other than Hogwarts!”
The crowd cheered at the announcement, chanting Harry's name. Louis was so proud of his best friend.

A few months later
After winning the Triwizard tournament Louis and Harry had a long conversation where they discussed all their doubts and insecurities.
