Batgirl. Lark. Names that lived with Stephanie. And apparently, didn’t die with her.
She loves Cass. They've fought together, trained together, Steph knows Cass better than anyone, as Cass knows Steph. But seeing her in the suit, seeing her fight with the bat? The very thing that turned herself into a cautionary tale?
Steph knew batgirl saves people. Still, the thought of no batgirl was easier to stomach that the thought of Cass in a casket. Or worse, nailed between the panels, not enough left of her to show to a funeral.
Kids in costumes die in Gotham. Steph knows.
