No Doubt

Summary:

While shooting a scene for their new music video, Jay must pretend to punch Sunoo, but when Jay actually goes through with it to get the perfect shot, Sunoo is taken aback, and slightly hurt, and not just on his face. Jay must make it up to Sunoo somehow ;)

Chapter 1: What keeps you up at night?

Chapter Text

7:26 pm

After a long day of filming for their new music video, Sunoo was not just tired but exhausted. He’d spent so long practicing new choreo, getting his hair and makeup done and re-done that day, that he could not wait to get his last scene over with and go home. They had already filmed all the group parts and they were onto the boxing scene. He wasn’t sure he entirely understood some of the concepts they did, but all he knew is that it was supposed to look like Jay punches him. The director said they would do some cool transitions or something, he just needed to stand there and look good.

As they are getting in their positions, Jay glances at Sunoo. He sees Sunoo’s shoulders sagging, his eyes closed in an attempt at a power nap. Jay, himself, is extremely tired as well- shooting can take what feels like forever, especially when having to do scenes over and over until the director is satisfied. He can’t really blame him though because their music videos always turn out amazing, but no one wants to do the same scene 50 times.

“Hey Sunoo, is this your last scene?”

“Yeah. I’m ready to go back to the dorm and sleep.”

Jay decides he has got to get this scene done in one go. That way Sunoo can leave as soon as possible. Even if that means extreme measures.

Director: “Okay, so Jay you have to make it look like you are punching Sunoo- and it has to look INCREDIBLY realistic for this transition to work with Jake’s shot!”

Jay leans over to Sunoo’s ear where no one would be able to hear him and whispers

“Intense much?”

His breath tickling Sunoo’s ear and neck. Sunoo could see Jay’s smirk out of the corner of his eye and failed to suppress a chuckle from escaping.

Director: “WHO’S LAUGHING?!?!?? WHAT IS THERE TO LAUGH ABOUT? WE HAVE SO MUCH LEFT TO DO AND NOT ENOUGH TIME TO DO IT! SO I SUGGEST WE ALL FOCUS AND DO OUR RESPECTIVE JOBS!”

“Somebody needs to get laid” Jay said, still eyeing Sunoo - though back to his beginning position. Sunoo stifled his laugh this time, not wanting to delay the shoot any further; but he couldn’t shake this feeling that what Jay had just said wasn’t fully directed at the director. He shook that thought out of his head. He didn’t have time to be thinking about things like that. He stuck up his chin, puffed out his chest, and looked at Jay. Whether to make it seem like what Jay had said- hadn’t affected him or at least to appear like it hadn’t he said

“On the count of three, you punch but stop right before my face, and I’ll recoil as if you actually had okay.”

“Sounds good.” Jay responded.

Jay was starting to second guess himself but he wanted Sunoo to be done with the shoot, so he would make it look as realistic as possible. Even if that meant punching Sunoo for real.

Director: “Okay, everybody set? ACTION!”

The track starts to play in the background and they both count down from three in their head. Sunoo counting so he can brace himself, Jay counting so he doesn't make a single mistake.

 “3…2-”

Sunoo isn’t even done counting down from one when he feels the stiff vinyl of the boxing glove connect with his face.

“Jay-”

Director: “That was PERFECT! Wow, Sunoo, you really are a good actor. It really looked like Jay hit you.”

“But-”

Sunoo looked at Jay. Jay did not even seem to feel the tiniest bit of remorse. In fact, he was smiling at him. Sunoo opened his mouth to say something that may help him process what just happened but he was interrupted by his manager.

Manager: “Okay Sunoo! You’re all set for today. The car will be waiting out front for you whenever you are ready to go.”

Sunoo was quickly ushered out of the filming location. He barely had any time to process what had just happened as he got in the car to go to their dorms. On one hand he was happy that he was on his way home at a somewhat reasonable time, but his cheek was beginning to ache. He wasn’t even mad about him hitting him. Everyone in the group teases each other, play fighting or hitting each other occasionally; however it’s not often you get socked in the face with no warning by the guy who usually looks out for you. The world works in mysterious ways, especially because I can’t stop thinking about what he said earlier…

11:43 pm

Sunoo was still awake. All he could think about earlier was drifting off to sleep in his bed but the second his head hit the pillow he couldn’t sleep. He wanted to talk to Jay but was also still a little hurt, mostly his ego was aching now. He had been scrolling on his phone when his stomach growled. He’d only had something small when he first got back to the dorm, because all he could think about at the time was showering and then going to sleep. So he got up and trudged to the kitchen. All the other members had come back already…except Jay. That was also why he couldn’t sleep. What if something had happened to him? What if the director worked him too hard and he collapsed? He pushed those worries from his mind as he rustled through the pantry. He landed on some microwave ramen. As he was preparing that, he heard the front door open. Jay was standing there. He was still wearing one of the outfits from the shoot. Black shirt, with a black leather jacket that has a hood attached. Black jeans with his hair still shaped to perfection. He looked… so hot, but also like the weight of the world on his shoulders. He looked so exhausted. Sunoo felt any argument or snippy line he had brewing fade away, he couldn’t bear to bring up any foolish thoughts he was having.

“What are you doing up so late? I thought you of all people would’ve been knocked out by now.” Jay remarked as he took off his shoes and put down his bags.

“I couldn’t sleep…” Sunoo mumbled as he stirred water into his ramen.

“And why exactly is that?” Jay said with a smirk on his face.

Even though he seems exhausted he somehow finds a way to muster up a good mood for…me? No. Don’t be dumb Sunoo! He is just trying to be a good member.

“C’mon I’m on the edge of my seat. What could keep sleeping beauty from his precious bedtime?” Jay taunted.

“Nothing.” Sunoo said not looking at him. Putting his ramen in the microwave and setting the timer. He tried finding something to busy himself with, so he didn’t have to answer Jay.

But Jay didn’t like being ignored. Especially after what he did for Sunoo earlier.

“Hey, is something wrong? Or are you just hangry?” Jay had a lilt in his voice at the end, trying to coerce anything out of his peer.

Reluctantly Sunoo responded, “...just hangry I guess…” He didn’t want to bring up anything that happened earlier, good or bad. He didn’t want to dump all his worries onto Jay because he looked so worn out.

Jay didn’t…couldn’t accept that answer. He strolls up to Sunoo who is leaning on the counter, scrolling on his phone. He steps behind him and straddles Sunoo with his arms. Pressing his chest to Sunoo’s back, their hands side by side on the counter. Sunoo’s finger’s hesitate on his phone.

“Jay?” he said with uncertainty.

“Oh sorry, I just needed to get your attention somehow since you were pretending like I didn’t exist.”

Sunoo turned slightly so Jay could see a portion of his face. Sunoo wasn’t looking him in the eye, moreso examining their position and generating a response that wouldn’t upset Jay even more.

“I didn’t mean to ignore you, I just didn’t have much to say. That’s all.” Sunoo glanced up at Jay, almost as a way to punctuate his sentence. Jay peering down, gave Sunoo a once over. His hair was loose in his face, still drying from a shower presumably, a loose muted blue sleep t-shirt, and loose basketball shorts that looked older than JYP. He looked back at Sunoo who had dawned a rather anxious look on his face.

“What’s on your mind?” Jay asked, “And don’t just say you are fine.”

Sunoo took a second, glancing around the room, making sure all the bedroom doors were shut.

“I was just a little taken-aback by our scene we shot earlier. I wasn’t exactly expecting to get sucker punched you know.” Sunoo faced back to the counter.

Jay started to laugh to himself, and then he couldn’ stop. Sunoo whipped his head around confused as to what he was laughing about.

“What’s so funny huh?” Sunoo said with a slight bitterness.

“I just didn’t think you would be upset over that!” Jay choked out in between chuckles.

“Why wouldn’t I be! My cheek still hurts, I swear.” Sunoo said now fully turned around to watch this scene unfold. Jay had started to hunch over from laughing and was trying to wipe at his face to get himself to stop, but Sunoo’s comment only made him have an even harder laughing fit.

“Hey you’re being mean.” Sunoo whined as fidgeting with his hands, looking everywhere but at Jay.

“Fine, you’re right! I shouldn't be laughing like this, I’m sorry.” Jay rattled off as he stood up and collected himself. He looked at Sunoo.

“I’m sorry I punched you, and I’m sorry I gave no warning that I was going to punch you either. I didn’t want to hurt you but I wanted to get the shot correct the first time. You looked so worn out earlier I just wanted you to be done with filming. That’s why I didn’t tell you, to get the most authentic reaction, so the director would love it.”

Sunoo was stunned. His hands had stopped moving. He’d even stopped blinking. Jay was looking at him with such…shame. Jay had put his hands back on the counter, one on each side of Sunoo, ensuring he couldn’t go anywhere.

“I really am sorry Sunoo” Jay said peering down at Sunoo, searching in his face for some kind of answer.

“No- I’m sorry. I overreacted. Thank you so much for helping me out, I wish I could’ve put your hard work to use and actually been able to go to sleep, but I couldn’t stop thinking about earlier.” Sunoo replied.

Jay moved his face closer to Sunoo’s. Close enough that Sunoo could smell his hair products,  see the makeup still on his face.

“Is that the only thing that you couldn’t stop thinking about?” Jay whispered breathily. He’d moved forward, where Sunoo had to brace himself on the counter. Jay nudged his knee against Sunoo’s ever so slightly, but Sunoo’s mind was going a million miles a minute he barely even noticed. The sound of the microwave beeping snaps Sunoo out of his trance.

“Ah-haha” Sunoo laughs nervously, “My ramen’s done.” He said breaking Jay’s gaze, and started to move to get his food, but Jay took hold of Sunoo’s face, grabbing him by the chin, his thumb on one cheek, the rest of his fingers on the other. He pulled Sunoo back to make eye contact with him. The teasing glint in Jay’s eyes has reappeared, Sunoo was glad but also nervous for himself.

“Now, where do you think you’re going?” Jay said looking at Sunoo questioningly.

“I was gonna get my ramen.” Sunoo said even though his lips were kind of squished.

“I asked you a question…was there anything else keeping your pretty little head awake? Something else I did? Maybe something…. I said.” Jay looked at Sunoo with dark, siren eyes. Jay took the hand holding Sunoo’s face and traced it along Sunoo’s back. Going up and down his spine, trailing it down his side, and settling on Sunoo’s hip, the palm of his hand putting pressure on his pelvis. He could feel everything through the thin t-shirt fabric…and everything through his basketball shorts. Sunoo wasn’t sure when their bodies had gotten so close but he could feel Jay, parts he had thought about earlier when he said the director needed to get laid. Sunoo realized Jay was still looking for an answer, but what to say? I can’t stop thinking about you, or what I want you to do to me. I want to touch you. I want you to touch me.

“Any day now”

“Okay!” Sunoo exclaimed. “I just thought it was funny when you said the director needs to get laid.”

Jay looked at Sunoo assessing him.

“Anything else”

“I just wasn’t sure if you just meant it for him.” Sunoo said cautiously.

Jay looked at him confused before he understood.

“Ahhhhh Sunoo here wants to get laid, is that what it is?”

“Nooooooo stop it okay, I’m sorry I even said anything”

Jay leaned down to Sunoo’s ear and whispered, “I didn’t say I wouldn’t oblige.”

Jay nudged Sunoo’s leg again, this time Sunoo’s legs did slightly part. Jay pressed himself even closer to Sunoo, his nose dragging lightly across Sunoo’s face, till their noses brushed against each other. Jay looked Sunoo in the eyes, he didn’t want to do anything Sunoo didn’t want but Sunoo ran one finger from Jay’s sternum to his lower abdomen, circling right above where his jeans start. Jay took that as an invitation to press his lips to Sunoo’s. Taking in the moment, holding his breath, smelling Sunoo’s freshly washed hair, and the feel of his soft lips. Sunoo must’ve also been holding his breath as they exhaled at the same time, still bound at the lips. Sunoo liked the feeling of Jay’s breath on his, and his body surrounding him. Pushing his body into the countertop to stabilize the both of them, Jay’s other hand, still bracing himself on the countertop behind Sunoo. When they broke the delicate kiss, they made eye contact, something changed in the air. Sunoo remembered he had his hands free, meaning he could run them wherever he wanted. He started however by wrapping his arms around Jay’s neck to pull their bodies as close as possible, before they went in for a more passionate kiss. It was more than Sunoo could have wished for. The feeling of Jay’s mouth on his, hungry for more. Sunoo wasn’t exactly sure what to do, but he felt good regardless, moving his body against Jay’s. Who was trying his best not to move, so he didn’t worsen the situation going on below the belt, but Sunoo did not seem to be catching on to said situation. Jay kept kissing Sunoo, allowing his tongue to probe Sunoo’s lips and tongue. Sunoo began to move his hands all over Jay, under his leather jacket he was muscled but not too much. Our managers make sure of that. He thought to himself. Tracing each line, working his way down Jay’s abdomen, to the hem of his black t-shirt. Slipping his hand underneath his shirt, spreading his palm out on Jay’s Lower stomach. This is when Jay reacts, feeling the soft, but heated touch of Sunoo. Sunoo continues to kiss Jay with intensity while slipping his other hand underneath his shirt, even though is riding up, and feeling Jay's toned abdomen. Sunoo notices Jay’s hesitancy, breaking the kiss, and opening his eyes to see Jay squeezing his shut.

“Are you okay Jay?” Sunoo says concerned.

Jay opens his eyes to see an apprehensive Sunoo looking up at him, with his beautiful doe eyes. He didn’t want Sunoo to worry but he also wanted to savor this moment. All throughout their new comeback he’d been watching Sunoo. He admires all the hard work he puts in, and how much he cares about all the other members; but ever since he dreamt about Sunoo a couple weeks ago he hasn’t seen him the same way. Careless touches became something Jay would seek. Going out of his way to tease Sunoo at rehearsals so that he could just brush up against him. Though they’ve been doing more than just brush up against each other whenever he is in the shower or up late at night. He imagines Sunoo’s tiny waist that the stylist finally decided to show off, his pale skin underneath those loose pajamas. It’s not that he doesn’t want to go further with Sunoo, he just doesn’t want to go too far.

“I’m okay Sunoo, don’t worry.” Jay musters up.

“Oh really,” Sunoo replies.

Sunoo grinds his pelvis onto Jay’s, and watches Jay curl over. Bracing both hands on the counter as he hunches over Sunoo, head down. His hair in his eyes.

“Looks like I’m not the only one who can’t stop thinking about a certain something.” Sunoo says. Giggling to himself, satisfied.

Jay moves all of the sudden, taking advantage of his leg being in between Sunoo’s, using his own thigh to create friction on Sunoo’s growing bulge. A moan escapes Sunoo’s mouth at the unexpected movement, and he clasps a hand over his mouth.

“Hey! That’s not funny! What if someone hears?” Sunoo whisper-shouts.

“I guess that just means we’ll have to move this party elsewhere.” Jay runs one of his hands up and down Sunoo’s back.

“Though I still need to wash off this makeup and hairspray.” Jay looks at Sunoo who is waiting for Jay to seemingly finish his statement.

Jay leans down to whisper in Sunoo’s ear, “I could use a little help in the shower, don’t you think.” Sunoo could feel Jay grin against his face, and he’s even more certain Jay could feel his face heat. Sunoo was also acutely aware of how hard Jay was, that being what Sunoo could help him with. In a split second, Jay was moving away from Sunoo, taking off his jacket and putting it on the coat rack. Moving towards the bathroom, and switching on the water. Sunoo was still standing there motionless at the kitchen counter, when Jay stood at the threshold, daring Sunoo to enter. Sunoo goes to walk towards the bathroom, when Ni-ki throws open his door.

“Oh, hey Sunoo, late night snack I see you,” He says holding up his stack of plates that have most likely accumulated in his room for over a week. Ni-ki catches sight of Jay,

“Oh I hope they didn’t keep you for too long, that director can be demanding. Anyway, I’m gonna get back to my game.” He says skirting back to his room, and shutting his door rather loudly. Sunoo and Jay make eye contact again, but Sunoo has chickened out.

“Clean up… without me, I have to eat my ramen eventually haha.” Jay narrowed his eyes at him and responded,

“Suit yourself.” and proceeded to close the door just as the water had started to fog up the mirror. The room felt colder when Jay was gone. Whether it was because the steam was no longer coming into the common room, or that Sunoo finally had a chance to catch his breath and cool off after everything that had happened. He really made out with Jay. Almost showered with him too. But all good things must come to an end.

At long last, Sunoo grabbed his ramen, scarfing it down, so he could escape to his room before Jay was done showering, and doing whatever else he had to take care of in there. Threw away his trash and bolted for his room. Closing the door just as the water was turning off. Sunoo jumped on his bed. He didn’t know why he was hiding from Jay. Maybe because he was embarrassed about what they had just done, or maybe because he was nervous of what to come next. A knock interrupted his thinking. Sunoo bolted up in bed. He wasn’t ready to face Jay so soon. Had he even had enough time to dry off, and put on clothes? I mean why would he need to put on clothes? No Sunoo! Don’t think like that! Just open the door like a regular person.

Sunoo got up and went to his door, listening to see if he could hear anything. Hearing no tell-tale sounds he opened the door cautiously.

And there stood Jay. Towel around his waist, Wet hair, finger combed out of his face, water droplets still dotting his body everywhere. His forearm is propped up above his head on the doorframe, showing off his upper body.

Sunoo stood, wide-eyed. Speechless. Hand gripping the door knob, and suddenly remembering how hard he is. Sunoo snapped out of it when Jay finally asked, smirking,

“Can I come in?”

End of Part One.
