Walking through the burned library, the player looked around for any information. Before the scout found the building, the hidden library was completely quiet and devoid of life. There seemed to be no signs of the passage of time—no dust, no anything. The scout was looking for any intact books to bring back.
The library had been burned down long ago. Traces of the incident were ingrained into the few bits of wood in the underground library. The scrolls had practically all been turned unreadable from the fire. The readable scrolls were put in the scout’s bag. The gold trimmings were dulled. Some parts of the library are completely covered in ash. The stone that makes up the rest of the library was okay, not counting the scorch marks.
The scout had found many books. Each and every one had been in Galactic, a language that the scout couldn’t read. The scout resolves to bring the books to the professor. The professor should be able to translate the books and might find such a project interesting. The scout shivered while remembering the chaos of the professor’s laboratory. The scout was slowly starting to regret coming here despite the spectral beauty that haunted every crack.
The scout’s ear twitched after hearing an object fall. Turning around the scout noticed a completely undamaged scroll. The scout smoothed out their tail and picked up the scroll. Opening up the scroll the scout noticed that the words were in an unknown language. It looked close to Galactic but wasn’t quite that language. The scout put the scroll in the bag and continued to look.
The scout was getting prepared to leave after finding some old artefacts. The artefacts were mostly made of gold, some were made of emeralds, diamonds and iron. The rare artefacts were made with pieces of amethyst in them. Those artefacts weren’t touched by the scout. The scout had resolved to tell the professor about the amethyst artefacts so that they would know if they were safe to touch or not.
A flash of purple caught the scout’s eye. Walking towards the sparkle of light, the player saw that the purple was a book encrusted with some amethysts. The glowing crystals were slowly brightening up the closer the player walked towards it. The scout put on gloves and put the mysterious book in a bag.
Looking around for any more resources to bring back or get a patrol to get more. The scout was walking up a partially intact helix staircase that led up to a dome. The way up was decorated with floating candles, the magic holding up the candles was almost tangible. The higher the scout went the more intact everything became. The candles’ glow lit up the place like a constellation. The scout took out a sketchbook and started to draw the patterns the player recognized among the different coloured candles. The player also drew the points of the other candle constellations the scout didn’t recognise. Maybe it was an ancient starmap? Thought the scout.
Checking the time, the scout disappeared from the library not noticing the translucent spirit.
