Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This

Summary:

Sportacus spends a quiet, rainy evening with his boyfriend

Notes:

It's a bit rainy where I live, but I love the sound of soft rain on the roof.

Can't wait for moments like this with my beautiful babygirl 🥰

Work Text:

It was a rare, quiet evening in LazyTown. Rain poured steadily from the sky, a rhythmic patter against the rooftop of Robbie Rotten's lair. The typically grumpy villain had begrudgingly—though secretly excitedly—agreed to let Sportacus stay over, a decision that had turned out to be more delightful than even Robbie could have anticipated.

Sportacus, ever the polite guest, had settled into Robbie’s surprisingly cozy lair with ease. Robbie had shown him to his bed, a plush affair with silky sheets that smelled faintly of sugar and pastries—just like Robbie himself. Sportacus had laughed softly at the irony, teasing Robbie about how even his bed had a touch of sweetness. Robbie had swatted at him, feigning irritation, but his pink-tinged cheeks betrayed his true feelings.

Now, the two lay in Robbie's bed, the rain creating a soothing ambiance. Sportacus was shirtless, his muscular frame glistening faintly in the dim light. Robbie’s head rested on Sportacus’s chest, his fingers lazily tracing the curves of his biceps and the contours of his chest. The scent of Robbie's bed surrounded them, warm and comforting, as they held each other close.

Robbie broke the peaceful silence with a half-joking question. "Wouldn't it be nice if we could just stay like this forever?" His tone was light, but there was a hopeful undertone he couldn’t quite hide.

To his surprise, Sportacus chuckled softly, his voice warm and full of affection. "If that were possible, Robbie, I’d gladly stay like this with you forever."

Robbie froze, momentarily stunned. The sincerity in Sportacus's voice was like a lightning bolt to his heart. Before he could respond, Sportacus tilted his chin down and placed a soft kiss on Robbie’s lips. Robbie’s hands moved instinctively, tangling in Sportacus’s hatless, curly blond hair, the softness of it almost as intoxicating as the man himself.

When they pulled back, Sportacus looked Robbie directly in the eyes, his expression tender. “I love you, Robbie,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper but carrying the weight of absolute truth.

Robbie’s breath caught in his throat. His blue eyes widened, glimmering with unshed tears. He had spent so much of his life believing he wasn’t deserving of love, let alone from someone as good and kind as Sportacus. And yet here he was, hearing those three words from the very man who had once been his rival.

“You…you love me?” Robbie asked, his voice trembling slightly.

Sportacus nodded, a gentle smile on his face. “I do. With all my heart.”

Robbie swallowed hard, blinking rapidly to keep the tears at bay, but it was a losing battle. A single tear slid down his cheek as he whispered, “I love you too, you insufferably sweet man.”

Sportacus pulled him closer, pressing a kiss to Robbie’s temple as Robbie buried his face in the hero’s chest. They stayed like that for a while, wrapped in each other’s warmth, the sound of the rain a soothing background melody to their newfound intimacy. For the first time in a long time, Robbie Rotten felt truly happy, and in Sportacus’s arms, he felt like he had finally found home.
