Chapter Text
It was Alfonso's first day at Belko; he knew he needed to find a truck so he could meet the other mechanic that worked there. He looked for anyone that could be the person but he didn’t see anyone so he sighed and awkwardly went into the building. He waved at the security guards before poking his head into the cafeteria and noticed an orange jumpsuit poking out from everything else in there so he assumed that must be who he’s looking for. He walked up and tapped the man who also matched the brief description he was told which was basically just a cranky looking bald guy. The man looked up at him looking dumbfounded before he looked like he had the worst realization of his life. “Oh you’re..sorry for leaving you alone I got hungry, let me get you something you look quite hungry yourself.” Alfonso sat down before shaking his head. “Oh no no..I’m good I can wait until lunch.” The man stared at him for a second before giggling at him. “That’s not gonna work if you’re going to be working with me I’m gonna make sure you eat something you know and call me Bud.” Before Alfonso could even object, Bud was already up and getting him food. Alfonso just stared at the table until Bud placed what looked like a plate of pancakes in front of him. “I didn’t think you’d want the shitty cereal they have here, the only reason I eat it is because I can’t be bothered to get in line.” Alfonso smiled at Bud before grabbing some utensils and eating them, they were surprisingly good. He and Bud talked for a little bit, admittedly Alfonso forgot to mention his name but that was done for him when someone grabbed his shoulder tightly making him jump and freeze in place. “Alfonso Crane, right? I’m Barry Norris, the COO here.” Alfonso turned to look at him and nodded at him trying his best to not look horrified of the man. “Good good, looks like you already met Bud your coworker he should be able to show you the office where they double check you have everything and to get your keys I hope you enjoy working here, Crane.” Barry gave Alfonso a unreadable stare before leaving so finally Alfonso sighed and gripped the table lightly. “Ignore him he’s a prick but yeah I’ll show you around you seem like a nice guy anyways.” The man smiled again before picking up all the trash and plates putting it all away before walking past Alfonso and patting his shoulder. He quickly got up and followed the older man until he got to the office where he mentioned he’d wait outside for him. Alfonso sat down and stared at everyone trying his best to look formal.
“Hello Alfonso, you went to the doctor right? for the tracer.” He nodded and rubbed the back of his neck. He really didn’t like having it. “Great! Here's your keys to your work car and to your apartment. I noticed you seem to have social issues so I got you one far from everybody..especially Barry.” Alfonso looked confused at the man in front of him. “Why? Does he not like me?” Vince sighed before biting his lip. “Well..looking through your file you aren’t cis correct? he’s mm..nobody’s gotten him to change unfortunately but most people here are quite supportive.” Alfonso just nodded his head and smiled pretty glad that someone would take time to care about him like that. He grabbed his keys and waved before heading back out to Bud who was surprisingly still standing waiting for him he waved at him and Bud waved back. “You need a uniform..well I’m sure they already have one considering I saw an extra one earlier just got to hope it fits.” After a good few months or so Bud and Alfonso got along greatly he eventually got the nickname Lonny and one of the employees gifted him a fidget is what she called it..it made a clicking noise whenever he’d mess with it mainly whenever he was stressed.
Bud and Lonny were in the basement together when Lonny heard the door open and close behind him he turned around to see Barry. “Hello Alfonso, hey I got a question for you, do you mind saying hi to Alana for me?” Lonny froze hearing that name he stared at Barry before he started walking closer towards him which caused Lonny to start backing away. He noticed Bud probably didn’t hear the whole thing so his next best bet was to hold his breath and constantly make a clicking sound in hopes of him hearing it which thankfully Bud did. “HEY BARRY! leave the guy alone the fuck did he even do anyways.” Lonny looked back to see Bud having a power drill in his hand why did he? he didn’t know nor did he want to question really but it got Barry to go away so Lonny could finally breathe again. Bud quickly went over to him putting his hand on his back trying to help Lonny calm down which unfortunately wasn’t working, Lonny looked down towards the older man who eventually pulled him down for their foreheads to touch which helped a lot better.
After work finished that day Lonny couldn’t be motivated to change or shower, he went into his apartment not locking it like usual. He simply collapsed onto the bed and slept in his work outfit he groaned waking up to knocking and sighed. “Come in!, doors unlocked.” Bud walked in and looked around before getting a concerned look on his face before Lonny put his face into his pillow again. “Lonny have you even.. you need to get ready or Barry’s gonna be on your ass.” Lonny just groaned again not getting up he really didn’t have the motivation to get up he didn’t want to see Barry again. “I don’t want to see that prick again why can’t I call in sick for one day.” Bud giggled and started leaning on the doorframe. “I got Leanrda to bring you alcohol today so it wouldn’t be as bad, don’t ask me how she does it because I have no idea.” Lonny finally poked his head up and sighed getting up and heading to his bathroom. “Wear a different undershirt Lonny! people are gonna notice that stain from yesterday!” Lonny completely forgot to grab a shirt before actually getting into the shower so he just decided to grab it afterwards assuming Bud wasn’t going to be in the room. He finished his shower and changed into new clothes well except for a shirt and picked up the jumpsuit. He walked out and froze noticing Bud was still there and quickly threw the jumpsuit over himself he didn’t like being seen shirtless especially considering his surgery scars. “Fast thinking but now it’s also on your face.” Lonny quickly grabbed a shirt and ran back into the bathroom before putting it on and coming back out. “There you go, now come on I’ll drive you there.” Lonny smiled and followed Bud to his truck before getting in, it was a lot cleaner than he expected he leaned his head onto the headboard and listened to whatever Bud had playing.
