He started to run away. Still distorted. Still processing. His partner, his companion just killed right in front of him. He heard screaming behind him. Then the sound of confusion. He heard running coming toward him and Ren started to sprint. While sprinting he stared down at his hands, suddenly he stopped.
He was still shape shifted has Martyn.
Quickly he changed his appearance, shaking off the dreading feeling. He turned behind him to see everyone stop and stare at him. It was all just to much and he ran. He just continued to run and run till he couldn’t anymore.
After sometime he got so exhausted he collapsed near a river. He was alarmed that he was struggling to breathe, then he felt his face and realized he was crying, heaving. He stayed crying until he fell asleep.
Chirp. Chirp.
Exhaustion. That’s all Ren felt. His legs ached, face burned and a headache from all the crying. Too tried to stand Ren crawled to the near by river. When trying to get a drink of water he saw his reflection.
He tried to yell or scream but the noise that came out was distorted. What he saw was only part of him, the other half being Martyn. Like they were spilt in half and glued together. He tried to touch the water to see if he was seeing things. Maybe he was to tried from the night before. It was too much what was happening to him. He tried to get up to get away from the river and just fell over getting right back where he started.
“What is happening”
His voice wasn’t quite his but a mix of Martyn’s. He thought of the night before to see how this could have happened, and then he realized. His superpower. He was still Martyn when he died. It must be a glitch. Ren then tried to move his arms and legs, everything worked. Perfectly in fact.
Maybe this was a blessing in disguise. He looked up in the sky to see mostly red names and a few yellows. It was the final day of the silly game.
“Well we got you to the final somehow,” chuckled Martren.
