Chapter Text

Jacob has gone through many events and incidents in his life: his mother died, his father became disabled, and both of his sisters left them... Jacob had endured many hardships as a fourteen-year-old boy and did not expect his life to become even more complicated.

Jacob was fourteen when he was transformed into a wolf... One night he realized that the world he lived in was bigger, stranger, and much more dangerous than he had imagined. Jacob realized that all those old legends about his ancestors were true and that he was more special than he thought, but that was not a good thing.

It was midnight and Jacob was busy doing his homework, but he was getting angrier and angrier as he answered every question incorrectly, and his body temperature rose abnormally. Finally, he could not stand it anymore and ran out of the house and went to the forest to cool down a bit.

As he walked through the forest and got further away, he got a headache and involuntarily roared and thought to himself: "Damn, what happened to me... I feel like I'm burning..." and then he screamed and felt pain in his body as he stumbled, his limbs began to change and reddish-brown fur grew from his body and his facial features changed until finally he turned into a wolf.

In an instant, a normal boy turned into a huge wolf! Jacob was not used to being a wolf and it was a little difficult for him to move and see his surroundings, but it felt strangely right, even though he bumped into trees while walking and none of his body parts were used to it, but it still felt right, as if he had finally found his home after years of being lost... He was born to be a wolf.

Jacob stayed in wolf form for a while until he figured out how to get back to his human form... When he became human again, he was a little shocked to see his naked body, apparently like in the movies, their clothes did not stay intact and were torn during his transformation into a wolf. When the boy arrived home, he was still in shock at what had happened to him, but he could not deny the excitement and joy inside him!

At first, Jacob tried to hide it because he was worried that his father would be afraid of him, but within a few days, it was his father who spoke to him and told him that he knew everything... Jacob would never forget the moment his father told him, he did not feel the peace he felt at that moment until a long time later.

After that, Sam came to talk to him.

Before Jacob, only Sam had turned into a wolf and awakened his wolf. Sam was a few years older than Jacob and had a trustworthy and serious face. He told Jacob that he could take the alpha position from him because Jacob had the alpha gene and being the alpha of the pack was his natural right, but Jacob refused... He was only a fourteen-year-old boy and was not yet ready for such a responsibility.

Jacob felt something different after that, when he heard their legends in the middle of the night, when he was gathered around the fire with his tribe... Knowing that those legends were true made him proud and arrogant! Hearing the epic of courage and sacrifice of his ancestors made him proud... But there was a part of the legends that he was not familiar with, and that was vampires.

Jacob had never seen a vampire, even after he had become a werewolf, and he knew that the reason his wolf had awakened was because of their presence nearby, and that made him uneasy. Jacob had heard of the Clans, he had heard that they did not feed on human blood, but that did not diminish his innate disgust for them...

Despite all that pride in his ancestors and his body's maturity... Jacob was still a teenage boy with his own mischief, Jacob loved to run! He thought there was no better feeling than running through the trees, feeling the wind in his fur, being one with his animal instincts, and feeling that growing power.

Sam usually told him not to get too close to the border so as not to get into trouble with the Clans, but Jacob was just a teenage boy and nothing was more enjoyable to him than breaking elven rules, and he hated being confined for a few leeches!

On that cursed night... a cold night with a full moon and the wind stronger than ever, Jacob went out of his room window in the middle of the night and ran towards the forest... Maybe if he had known his fate, he would have never left his room.

That night Jacob's life changed in a different way than before.

Edward felt an unknown feeling, he felt like he was tied with a chain and someone was pulling him towards the trees... he felt like his body was a piece of iron being attracted by a magnet.

While he was standing in his room, looking out the window with a frown on his face, Jasper entered his room and asked in a quiet voice, "Are you okay? You seem a little strange tonight."

Edward answered without turning to look at his brother, "It's nothing, it's just... I feel strange."

Jasper realized that his brother didn't want to say anything, so he quietly turned and went downstairs. Edward was glad that Alice had gone out with Rosalie to shop and wasn't home because otherwise he wouldn't have left Edward alone like Jasper.

Edward resisted the strange urge for a while, but eventually he gave in and ran out the window of his room and towards the forest at an incredible speed.

While he ran and let his body guide him to the right place, he enjoyed the feeling of freedom that had been created for him... He did not know that soon he would take away someone's freedom forever.

Edward did not understand how, but when he came to himself, he was near the border.

Between him and the wolf territory was only a river that moved and flowed with a loud sound. Edward got closer to the border and stood by the roaring river and looked in that direction, and suddenly a body moved there and caught his attention.

On the other side of the river, in the territory of their enemies, a wolf stood and stared at him. Due to the distance between them and the river that was between them, he could not smell the wolf's scent well, but he could hear the sound of his thoughts in a very clear way.

Darkness was usually no obstacle to Edward's superhuman eyes, but the wolf stood somewhat in the shadows, making it difficult for him. Edward couldn't see the color of the wolf's fur clearly, but it didn't stop him from being startled and shocked by his majesty... He had almost forgotten how powerful wolves could be.

The moment his golden eyes locked with the wolf's large brown eyes, he could feel the wolf's world turning upside down. Edward couldn't understand the strange concepts in the wolf's mind... If he wanted to describe it, he could only describe it in terms of strings. The strings that had connected the wolf to the others were severed, and suddenly... a steel rope connected him and his fate to the wolf.

Edward saw images in the wolf's mind that moved and changed rapidly... images of Edward himself in different states... in some he was happy and in others angry... but all of them revolved around him, as if he had become the main character in someone else's life story.

In the middle of the night, on the border between the two enemy territories, among the black shadows of fate, under the light of a full moon that could not illuminate the future of the black wolf... two people stood, one of them was empty of life and no different from the dead, but the other was a symbol of life! One of them was cold and frozen like winter, but the other was a fiery summer! One was fire, the other ice... one moon, the other sun... and fate that night inextricably linked them.

They were born for each other and no truth could be stronger than this truth.

Fate had bound them together in a cruel way.

Fate had written a cold and dark story for them, but it was not something they could change.

Edward looked at the wolf standing there and suddenly felt the need to get closer... He was ready to break an old covenant and endanger his family to get closer to that strange wolf, and all this was according to his instinct, but before he could move, the wolf backed away and ran towards his own territory...

Edward didn't know how long, but for a long time he stood there, staring at the spot where the wolf was standing... Then he walked away, not knowing if what happened to him was his imagination or not...

Jacob Black, grandson of Ephraim Black, heir to the position of Alpha of the Pack, was imprinted on a vampire, a leech.

Fate had chosen this for him and as Jacob ran through the forest he denied it to himself... He tried not to believe his fate but it was impossible.

Fate is very fair because it shows no mercy to anyone...

Fate had not shown mercy to Jacob.

In their tribe, imprinting was sacred, something they rejoiced and shouted about, no one denied their imprint but... Jacob had no choice but to deny and hide his imprint because he was imprinted on a vampire.

Chapter Text

A large, gigantic wolf with reddish-brown fur and very sharp white teeth ran through a dark, large, and gloomy forest... The image of the wolf was so frightening and majestic that it stunned everyone because no one would have guessed that the scary wolf was just a fourteen-year-old teenage boy whose world had recently been turned upside down in a sad and unpleasant way.

The thin branches of the trees that had fallen to the ground were crushed under his paws, and the animals, hearing his loud footsteps and feeling the ground shake under his feet, fled from there, while the sky was dark and the forest was, as always, a symbol of the cruelty of the world and nature... The world had not changed at all, as if it had not understood what had just happened to Jacob's life, what a cruel world it really was!

His feet were pounding hard on the ground and he didn't even know how much time had passed, in fact, he didn't care because the passage of time didn't seem important compared to the disaster that had happened to him.

Running wasn't much fun anymore, as he ran away from the border between the two realms, he kept repeating to himself like a mantra: "No...no...no...this didn't happen...this didn't happen...no..." At first he didn't realize the boy with the golden eyes was a vampire until he remembered what Sam had said about vampires... they were pale, their eyes were golden, they were deadly beautiful, and they smelled pungent and unpleasant...just like the boy standing across the river.

Edward Anthony Mason Cullen was a vampire and a man...it was impossible for him to be a werewolfs imprint by any means, but what was the point of the world without impossible things that could happen?

Jacob kept running until his foot caught on a tree branch sticking out of the ground and he fell to the ground, rolling several times, and finally lying on his side, his chest heaving from the force of his breathing.

Without moving, he lay there in his wolf form, trying to comprehend what had happened to him: "I... I imprinted on a vampire... but how... this is impossible... no... I... I really imprinted on a vampire? No damn damn damn..."

Jacob finally got up and went home, but he didn't turn into a wolf for a few days because he wasn't sure what he wanted to do and if he even wanted to tell the pack about his imprint, how would they react? Would they even accept it? What if the tribal council didn't accept him and his imprint?... Jacob was a teenage boy and wasn't ready to face the truth of life, so he decided to hide it... from everyone! From the council, the pack, and even his imprint.

Hiding his imprint wasn't easy for Jacob because the wolf inside him didn't agree with hiding his role, but in the end he convinced himself and his wolf that it was better for everyone, especially the vampire who was his imprint... Jacob didn't even know the name of that vampire.

The absence of his role near him had created such a scary void inside him that sometimes he felt like he was suffocating, but he tried to get used to it in silence... Although we don't get used to pain, we can only bite our lips and endure it.

After a few days, Jared Cameron, a new member of the pack, went to Jacob's house to talk to him.

Jacob wasn't very close to Jared, but the boy had become part of the pack, which meant they would soon be getting closer.

While Jacob was leaning against the wall and Jared was sitting on the couch facing him, Jacob raised an eyebrow and said, "Well... I'm sure you're not here to ask how I'm doing, so tell me what's up?"

Jared shrugged and replied with a smile, "Sam talked to your father, but your father didn't agree with you quitting school to become a werewolf, and he didn't want you to leave school because you're only fourteen, so you're going to stay in school, Sam wanted to tell you that."

Jacob nodded and, seeing Jared not moving, replied, "Okay, I see, is there anything else?"

Jared stood up and stepped forward. "Sam wants to come out, we're going to go for a run in the woods, you know, we're going to go and race as wolves. Sam says it might strengthen the bond of the pack, because it's a pack thing."

Jacob froze and quickly thought of a reason to refuse, but in the end he failed and was dragged into the woods by Jared.

It turned out that hiding things from the pack was incredibly difficult. Jacob could barely keep his mind off his imprint, and it was so difficult that he finally turned into a human and used Billy, his father, as an excuse and returned home. Of course, Sam wasn't too happy about this, but he didn't say anything and let him go... Sam knew Jacob was in trouble, but he decided to question him later.

Jacob didn't exactly excuse his father because he really had to go to Forks to pick up Billy, who was at the house of Charlie, the Forks sheriff and his father's best friend, and take him to Forks Hospital for a checkup and medication.

Jacob and his father would have preferred not to go to Forks Hospital, but LaPosh Hospital wasn't great, and it seemed safer to go to the hospital in Forks.

Charlie was a middle-aged man with a mustache and brown eyes and a generally nice face. He was kind and good-natured most of the time, and he was even the father of Jacob's childhood friend, Bella.

After a brief hello to Charlie, Jacob took his father to the hospital. Jacob's father was in a wheelchair and the reason for that was an accident he had in the past... Taking care of his father alone was not easy, but Jacob loved his father and since his two sisters, Rachel and Rebecca, had left home, he had no choice but to do so.

As they walked towards the hospital, Billy stared at his son's wrinkled and not very happy face and realized that Jacob had been looking like this for a few days so he asked, "Hey kid... what's wrong?"

Jacob looked at his father with a little stress and asked with a fake smile, "what... what do you mean?"

Billy replied with a short smile, "You don't exactly look like the happiest person on earth, what's the problem?"

Jacob thought to himself, "It's not easy to be happy when I've imprinted on our mortal enemy." But he said, "problem? What problem? I think you drank too much beer, Dad."

Billy patted Jacob on the shoulder and replied with a laugh, "Watch your mouth, Jacob Black..." Then, after a short pause while he was no longer laughing, he added, "It's okay if you don't want to talk, but you shouldn't pour everything into yourself, it's not healthy, son."

Jacob nodded but said nothing.

While Jacob was waiting for his father outside the doctor's office, he suddenly caught a sharp scent... a scent that, although he had only smelled it once, he could recognize it in that crowded hospital, despite all those people... Jacob looked across the hospital hall, towards the door, and was shocked by what he saw.

On the other side of the hospital, at a relatively large distance from Jacob, a boy with bronze hair, pale skin, and stunning beauty entered the hospital door and walked towards the reception desk.

Edward couldn't smell Jacob or hear his thoughts due to the relatively large distance and the many people around him, but Jacob was different, Jacob's world revolved around Edward and it was impossible for Jacob not to feel and recognize his scent.

Despite the large distance, Jacob's eyes worked well because of his shifter and he saw Edward and couldn't take his eyes off him... Edward was wearing a navy blue T-shirt with dark jeans that showed off his body well... Jacob stared at him and felt that the sound and people around him were disappearing... Jacob's eyes only saw Edward.

Chapter Text

"I saw you in the hospital two weeks ago and I learned your name (I asked a nurse if it matters.)

Edward Cullen.

Your name suits you. I think Edward Cullen would be a good name for a vampire who lived in the body of a teenage boy for decades, has the ability to read minds, and one day, quite by accident, ruined my life. Is it ridiculous that this is all I know about you? It's probably ridiculous... but writing something for you that you're not going to read is even more ridiculous. But It's the only way I can talk to my imprint, anyway.

I don't know much about you, and it's really annoying... All I know about you is that you're a vampire, a man, someone who can read minds (that must be really scary, right?), someone who has the absolute best smile in the world (I swear, when you smiled at a nurse in the hospital, she was just a little bit away from fainting.), and you managed to completely ruin my life.

I hate you.

I was born to hate you.

My wolf should hate you, but somehow he decided to imprint on you. But it's not like it's intentional. It's not your fault, not mine and not my wolfs... it's fate.

Imprinting was supposed to be a gift, a favor, something to be proud of, something to respect... imprinting was supposed to be the best thing that ever happened to a wolf, but I think all that was a lie because if imprinting was a gift, a favor, I wouldn't have to hide you, no one hides something they're proud of. If the pack respects imprinting on a vampire, I don't have to hide it... But how is the pack going to accept this? I haven't even accepted it yet! How could they accept you as my imprint? The imprint of a wolf was supposed to be the best option for the continuation of the race, damn it, you're a man! A vampire! This joke isn't even funny!"

"Jacob! I'm leaving!"

Hearing his father's voice calling him, Jacob stopped writing, hid his small notebook under the mattress on the bed, and then left the room to say goodbye to his father.

Charlie, who was joking and laughing with Billy, smiled when he saw Jacob coming and said, "Hi Jacob."

Jacob smiled back and replied, "Hi Charlie."

Billy usually went fishing with Charlie, and this was one of the hobbies they had, which Jacob was grateful for. Jacob loved his father, but lying to Billy was hard when he knew Jacob was in trouble, and Jacob would rather Billy go fishing with Sheriff Swan than constantly ask why Jacob was depressed these days!

Billy smiled and said, "We're leaving now, we'll be back in a few hours, until then take care of yourself."

Jacob rolled his eyes, "I'm not eight, Dad, you don't need to tell me these things."

Charlie chuckled, "Jacob, you're fourteen, you're only six years older than what you said."

Jacob replied, "If he trusts me enough to let me drive, then he shouldn't worry about me being alone in the house."

Billy looked at Charlie and whispered, "See how he talks to his father?"

Charlie looked at Jacob with pity. "This is really disappointing, Jacob, how can you talk to your father like that?"

Jacob looked at the two in shock, which made Charlie laugh out loud and Jacob said with a hurt expression, "I can't believe that you're mocking me, you know what? I'm going to change the lock on the door before you get back."

As Charlie pushed Billy's wheelchair towards the door, Billy replied with a laugh, "I have a sheriff with me, I can legally break down the door. Bye."

Jacob said goodbye to the two while laughing and then went back to his room, ignoring the messages and calls from the pack members and lying on his bed and slowly falling asleep.

Edward was as handsome as ever... that suit made him look more noble than ever and radiated his charm in an undeniable way... his golden eyes were filled with love and admiration as he looked into the girl's brown eyes, he was infatuated with her.

As the couple embraced and danced, everyone's eyes were on them, their beauty hurting their eyes.

The girl had tied her brown hair up on top of her head, her white dress showed off her slender body, and her brown eyes were staring at Edward with deep love and inherent attachment.

Edward's smile widened and he gently leaned his head against the girl's head and brought his lips close to hers...

Jacob woke up in horror and pain, panting, sweat dripping down his body, and tears welling up in his eyes. The pain that was wracking his body was both physical and emotional, but it was so deep that he couldn't figure out what had happened, but suddenly the memory of the nightmare he had seen hit him like a train.

Edward's wedding.

He had had a nightmare of Edward's wedding to a beautiful girl he didn't know.

There was nothing scary about the wedding, no bloodthirsty monsters or zombies or anything like that, just a lavish wedding with a beautiful and lovely couple, but that was what made it a nightmare.

Edward was married.

While Jacob lay on the bed, still in pain from his nightmare, he put his hand on his heart and pressed, pressing so hard and painfully that it seemed as if he wanted to tear his chest open with his hand and pull his heart out.

It was hard to breathe, the nightmare had taken the ability to breathe from him and it didn't seem to be giving it back. The impact of that nightmare was so intense that Jacob felt like it would never get better... He tried to convince himself and his wolf that the nightmare was just a lie, just a meaningless dream, but the problem was that Jacob didn't feel like it was a lie.

The image was so real, so real and detailed that Jacob officially felt like he had been there, standing there and watching his role play out up close... Unfortunately, the wolf didn't believe Jacob's lies.

The pain continued and was frighteningly physical, the ant had teeth sunk into his flesh, tearing him to pieces until only the scent of his blood remained... Jacob just hoped it would all be over before his father returned.

Chapter Text

Jacob could feel the emptiness. There was a deep hole in his chest that made breathing difficult and exhausting. Being alive was no longer so much like being tortured, but Jacob gradually managed to ignore that hole, as if the wolf inside him didn't whine day and night in the distance of his imprint and his heart didn't weigh on his chest like an unnecessary and useless burden. As if breathing wasn't a terrible form of torture...

Writing in a diary sometimes helped with the pain. Although it seemed ridiculous, it felt like he could actually communicate with Edward, as if the vampire was sitting nearby, on his bed, listening to him. This worked temporarily, silencing the wolf, but only temporarily. Nothing could erase the truth that seemed like a black stain on his life.

The days became a tedious repetition that Jacob had to follow to keep his sanity. The herd, his father, school, and lies... lies, lies, lies. He always had to lie. He had to lie that he was fine, that he was fine, that nothing special had happened, that everything was fine... Was everything fine? No! His life was filled with lies and pain, nothing was fine. He was not fine. Sometimes he felt that he was no longer a wolf or a human being, but an inanimate object that had to behave like a living being. Sometimes he felt that he could never tell the difference between himself and the machines he repaired, except that he was unfixable.

Jacob lied, but not all of them were good lies. Sometimes he would notice the suspicious looks of the pack and his father when he told an unbelievable lie but he tried to ignore them. His lies had a price, often he was choked by guilt, as if the pain of being away from his imprint wasn’t enough.

Jacob’s days were monotonous and repetitive. School, the pack, home, his father. Among all those repetitive and boring things, he had placed his nightmares and his notebook.

He didn’t understand how time passed. How could time move so slowly? Jacob didn’t understand. Only a few months had passed but he felt like a hundred years had passed. He felt old, tired and bored. There was an old wolf in his fifteen-year-old body, getting older and older without his role.

After that day in the hospital, he never saw Edward again. His eyes were thirsty for that pale vampire, and his heart was crumpling like a piece of scribbled paper in this distance... What big, complicated words to explain a feeling that I am unable to describe.

On another boring day in his life, after school, he returned home and remembered that his father was already his best friend, the Forks Sheriff, Charlie Swan, and that relieved him a little. If his father were not there, he could stop pretending to be a happy fifteen-year-old boy and be what he really was, a wounded wolf.

He went to his room with a tired and emotionless face. He sat down in a chair and after a short pause, pulled his notebook, which was covered in black writing, from under the pillow on his bed and began to write with a black pen on a clean, blank page:

" I didn't eat breakfast today, which was probably not a good idea considering I'm a young werewolf. I'm hungry most of the time, like a lion that hasn't eaten in a year, but I almost never have an appetite, like a teenage girl who's been broken up with! (Which is not much different from the truth, of course, my case is just more dramatic and imaginative.) Where was I? Ah, teenage werewolf, the appetite of a broken heart girl, yeah... I don't know why it's like that but it probably has something to do with you, everything in my life has been about you for a long time and you... you don't even know I exist. Let it go, it doesn't matter, let's not get emotional about it. After I didn't eat breakfast (big mistake!) I went to school. I slept through the whole first grade (which is not strange anymore, apparently being away from you is preparing my body to die. I have no appetite and I don't want to be awake. I wonder when I'll start to stop breathing.) Then in the second grade, we had an exam and I don't even remember what the exam was... Now that I'm telling you this, I feel a little bad. You're like those who always get +A (I know I only saw you once, but that one time you were like a nerd.) Now do you hate me? Because I'm not perfect like you and I'm not good at everything? (Sorry for calling you a nerd... I didn't mean it badly, actually I think it's great even if you're a nerd. Don't be upset, okay? I'm sorry...) I'm not very good at studying, but I'm great at cars! Does that sound stupid? (Why did I apologize to you? You're not even supposed to read these things... I'm so fucking depressed again.) Why am I telling you this? Why do I write to you like an idiot every day that you're not supposed to read? You're probably not even supposed to notice me, you're going to leave here and live your life somewhere else and you won't even realize that I'm here, for you. That's right... I'm not writing this for you to read, I'm writing this because it's the only way I can connect with you. I know it's stupid to think this is a connection, but it's all I can do. It's the only thing I can do to keep the wolf from taking control of me and making me follow you like a weirdo just to see you from afar... It's really not my fault that I'm so attached to you. I don't understand why I miss someone I only met once. I don't even know you! You might be a selfish, psychotic bastard! (You're not... you're definitely none of those things. You're an angel and I'm ready to fight to the death anyone who thinks otherwise. You're an angel.) You know what? No matter what kind of person you are, it really doesn't matter because I'd gladly give my life for you anyway. That's the best way for me to die, to die for you. Can you see the strength of this bond that binds me to you? I'm fifteen years old and I'm thinking about dying for you."

Hearing the sound of the sheriff's car approaching the house, he dropped the pen on the table and put the notebook back under his pillow. Then he walked out of his room and stood in front of the house, took a deep breath, put a fake, happy smile on his lips and put on the "happy teenage boy" mask on his face, then opened the door and was faced with Sheriff Swann helping his father out of the car.

Jacob walked towards them, trying to keep his smile on his face. "Hello."

Charlie, who had successfully dropped his father off and was now standing behind him, laughed nervously and replied, "Hi Jacob. Thank God you're here, I wanted to talk to you about something."

Jacob raised an eyebrow and looked at his father, who was smiling mischievously and said in response to Charlie, "You look nervous, should I be worried?"

Instead of Charlie, Jacob's father replied after a quiet laugh, "No, his daughter is coming, that's why he's excited."

Jacob looked at Charlie with a bigger smile, "Really? That's great Charlie!"

Charlie laughed nervously and excitedly, "Yeah yeah... I think you remember her, you used to play together a lot when you were kids. Her name is Bella."

Jacob didn't really remember much, his childhood memories seemed so distant to him that it felt like ten centuries had passed since he was a child... but in fact he remembered vague, small, distant memories of a little girl he used to play with, he remembered admiring her back then... but now he couldn't say to Charlie, "I'm sorry Charlie, but I'm having a hard time remembering my childhood memories because I imprinted on a vampire a few months ago, and I don't remember almost anything about your daughter. And if you're wondering what imprinting is, it's a wolf thing, you know, I'm a werewolf in fact." He absolutely couldn't say that, so instead, he replied with a happy, fake smile, "Yeah, of course I do... I remember Bella. So, do you need help with something?" Charlie nodded happily. "Yeah, I was going to get Bella a present and I was hoping you could help me."

Jacob raised his eyebrows and laughed, "I really don't know what girls might like." Then he continued in his mind, "I'm not interested in knowing, I'd rather know the tastes of a male vampire who's probably a hundred years old and whose name is Edward... and whose last name is Cullen."

"No, he wants to buy her a used car and he was hoping you could help him fix it up."

Jacob's eyes widened and he grinned. "Really?"

Charlie nodded.

"Okay, that's great!" Jacob said happily.

He hoped having a project would take his mind off Edward... of course, that was impossible. Jacob's mind already belonged to Edward and he could never stop thinking about him.
