Chapter Text

Cecilia is used to having the upperhand. A vampire for many years now, wicked and skilled at lying. Her prey falls into her lap with ease.

Well, someone is in her lap now alright. The other woman shifts to straddle her, pressing Cecilia into her car seat. The streetlights reflect weakly in her amber eyes, and the woman grinned as if she found her prey.

Is... isn't Cecilia higher on the food chain here?

The woman leans down and her lips and teeth graze across her neck. Cecilia's supposed to do this, earlier the woman seemed so shy! She grimaces as the woman gives her a lick.

"Ew," she mumbles.

The woman purrs. "You'll need to tell me what you want."

"Bite you?", Cecilia replies.

Leaning back, the woman brushes back her pink hair and pulls her top down a little. "Go ahead."

Huh. This might be an easy one tonight. Cecilia leans forward to sink her fangs above her collarbone. Just a little. Don't let your gaze drop. Blood drips on her tongue and she laps it up. "No comment?"

"You're pretty."

"Not what I meant," Cecilia mumbles and the woman just grins. Seriously, she needs to stick with simpler-minded prey. Her blood tastes good though.

Hands moved to cup her face, and a thumb swiped away a stray drop of blood from her lip.

And something crashed against the car. //This is getting too spicy for me

Cecilia threw her arms around the human to protect her from impact. Her side hits the hand break and she hisses.

Something slides and clicks. Cold metal presses against the back of her head.

"Got you, dog," a deep voice says. "Enough of your hunting."

The human now beneath her stares fearfully at their attacker. "Lower the gun."

A sneer. "Stay out of this, lady."

"No, you're looking for me. I'll comply, leave her alone."

What?, her partner for the evening slowly pushed her off of her and climbed out of the car. She winced when her head hit the ceiling, before climbing out.

The light reflects the gun aimed at her. It smells like blood and Cecilia feels a shiver down her spine at the familiar insignia.

Hunters.
How? Cecilia stayed out of their way for years. And why is the gun not aimed at her?

Their attacker continued. "Listen well, dog. You'll get into the back of the truck and your friend here stays unharmed."

The woman winces and Cecilia jolts. She was so confident a moment ago. Not looking back, the woman walks around the car while the stranger with the gun follows, guiding her to the car that rammed them earlier.

Running her tongue across her teeth, Cecilia still tastes the blood. No, this is her prey for the night and an innocent bystander.

She gets out of the car to face the gun's barrel.

"Not a word, missy. You don't know what you're dealing with."

Now the moonlight shines down on her, and gets her own blood pumping. It's been a while, but she remembers how to kill. Just make this quick and gaslight the woman later, wash out the blood from her dress and go to the next city.

Something grows and jumps on the man's back, tearing at his neck. The stranger screams and drops his gun.

Cecilia takes the chance to slit his throat with a single swipe.

The red splashes on her are warm as the man drops like a puppet with loose strings.

Looking at her are bright blue eyes. So the hunter wasn't after herself after all.

The werecreature slinks back and her tail flicks. Cecilia raises her hands. "I'm not here to take away your dinner."

"My, what?"

She blinks. "You're not gonna eat him now?"

"No, that's disgusting!" The werecreature grimaces and her ears flatten. "This is just a stupid humor! I can't believe people believe this... I eat a lot of meat, alright, but humans don't taste good!"

Huh. Cecilia really needs to get more involved with non-humans. Seems like she hasn't studied well enough after her turning.

"You smelled good, though, so I thought, hey, why not take a bite? And I don't mind getting bit by a cute girl in turn," rambles the werecreature.

Cecilia tries to ignore the heat rising to her cheeks as if she hasn't made out with that person like a minute ago. "We need to leave, more will come soon."

Nodding, the werecreature grabs her hand and pulls her out of the parking lot. "Can't take my car if it's too damaged, they'll catch us. Stay with us for the night!"

She lets herself be dragged along, a few streets further and a turn left. The werecreature walks fast without a hint of fatigue. What is she? The woman hid her features by now, though her eyes still glowed in an unnatural light.

"I'm a Vampire," Cecilia says to break the silence.

"Oh, I'm Raora, nice to meet you!"

Fine enough. Raora pushes open the metal door of an old apartment building and leads her up some stairs. A few floors higher she finally lets go of Cecilia's hand to fumble a key out of her pocket. It slots into the lock perfectly.

"I'm home~!" Raora goes inside without hesitation, Cecilia trailing after her.

"Welcome home!", another voice echoes and something soundly clatters to the floor. "Oops."

From the side, a woman with long red hair walks into the kitchen. Her gaze fixes on Cecilia with suspicion, and she sees her walking to stand in front of the door the earlier noise came from. "Raora, dear, what did we say about bringing home strays?"

"You picked up Gigi too," shrugs the werecreature. "Also, she helped me escape a hunter!"

Awkwardly, Cecilia nods. "Hi."

A small girl pokes her head out of the room the tallest woman blocked off. "Liz, let me see, let me see! Who are you?"

"Cecilia, uh, a vampire." When was the last time she conversed with multiple non-humans? Shortly after her own turning? "A hunter attacked us and Raora told me to stay here for the night."

Gigi pushes herself into the room and wraps an arm around Raora. "Sure!"

Liz's eyebrow twitches. "Not even asking me?"

In tandem the other two stick out their tongues. Cecilia tries to keep down her own giggle. "I won't stay if it's an inconvenience, I can find a place."

"Nope." Walking over, Elizabeth wipes a little blood off her shoulder. "That's neither yours nor Raora's. You helped her, we owe you. The couch is free whenever you need it."

The couch is old and Cecilia can see a few springs protruding. But staying with others might be safer tonight, even if it won't be comfortable.

Raora excuses herself, saying to whip up some snack. When she steps into the kitchen she shrieks Gigi's name, for which the small one hides behind Cecilia. After introducing herself as Elizabeth, the red haired one continues whatever she did before.

All this while Cecilia still stands in the hallway, in a bloody dress with still hunger. Raora walks by with a filled plate in her hand, following Elizabeth. Shortly after she has her own food and is led to the couch table.

"I'll give you a change of clothes, but our shower broke yesterday," Raora talks with her mouth full. "We have a spare washcloth if you want to use the sink."

"Ah!" Pointing her fork at Cecilia, Gigi accidently flicks a little sauce towards her. "I'll sleep with Rara tonight, so take my bed. You look like you need it."

"...thanks.”
