Chapter 1: The Start Of Something New
Notes:
No hate on Aether or anyone in this book, it is just an Au I came up with. Also the first chapter is going off the game and then the next chapter and the others will be different. I hope you enjoy this book! ;)
This chapter hasn't been edited, so I'll check it later on but I decided to post this so people can read it, sorry if bad. I just really wanted to write a story on these to, especially Abyss Lumine and Furina.
Chapter Text
(Edit: I changed some things, but I hope you still enjoy the book)
Aether and Paimon look around Poisson trying to find the 'Hydro Archon', Paimon really wished it didn't have to come to this but Aether said they have no choice. That it is the only way to find out the truth, cause he stated that it was clearly obvious that she was hiding something that could be related to the prophecy and they really need to find out, but Paimon didn't think that forcing someone to say it could be good.
It could just make they freeze up, "There's Furina! Right there." Paimon yells not really meaning to but she just has a habit of yelling, well she has to yell all the time anyway cause this blonde traveller has got to be deaf with how many times she has to repeat her sentences, Paimon was starting to get sick off him. Aether though quickly shushes Paimon making her glare at him. She crosses her arms and floats behind him.
Aether only made he quiet though so he could hear if Furina says something important when she is alone. Aether clears his throat quietly getting himself ready as he walks up to Furina who sits in front off the small pond in Poission as she stares off into the disaster that had happened. She looked to be crying, Paimon feels deeply affected at this, Aether though frowns confused, was she crying cause she was worried that people will find out she's lying or is it something else?
As Aether and Paimon get closer they can hear what she is muttering to herself, "Should I just give up....? This....is all....meaningless...." She mutters as she starts to rock back and forward, Paimon frowns and wonders if this is really a good idea, she for some reason wants to get closer to Furina and hug the poor child. Aether walks closer not seeming to care that she was crying.
".....What was meant to happen, happened....everyone's dead...." She mutters, "I'm sorry.......I'm so....sorry...." She mutters as she cries quietly not that the traveller can see. "Furina?" Aether calls, making Furina flinch at the sudden call. Paimon freezes, "Who's that!" She yells as she quickly stands up and spins around, Paimon rises her arms. "Don't worry, it's just us."
Paimon states as she looks at her, Furina nods but still looks uneasy around the two. Aether narrows his eyes at Furina making her look at him nervously, "W-what?" She questions. "You've been crying." Paimon sighs, Furina's eyes widen. Just great, she let someone see her weak side and now they are probably gonna ask what's up with her and she really doesn't want to deal with that.
"It's a bit obvious, there are tears stains on your face." Aether mutters pointing at her face making Furina grits her teeth in worry. Quick Furina make something up. Furina thinks in her head, "A-Ah the tear s-stains?" She questions as she smiles nervously, Aether and Paimon nod. "That was just off the show at the opera house earlier this morning, I'm still trying to process it." She states, flashing her fake smile making the two nod.
Before Aether sighs, "You're actually beyond devastated right now, aren't you." He states while looking at her, Furina look at him. "W-what?" She mutters but before Aether can say anything else, someone yells calling a familiar name. "There she is! The Hydro Archon!" The person yells as the small group turn and see a group off people heading towards them not looking happy, it was the people from Poission that were angry at her for the disaster that had nothing to do with her.
Furina begins to shake, Paimon looks at her worriedly. She floats towards her and decides to pull Furina gently and run. Aether don't even notices that they have disappeared until the people ran past him chasing after Furina. "Quick, get her!" Aether grits his teeth, this might cause problems for the plan. And where was Paimon.
Paimon quickly leads her to in front off a house not realizing this was the trap house and opens the door, "Hide in here, they won't find you. I promise." Paimon mutters, looking around in panic, Aether quickly joins grinning when he sees that she is in the house, the plan was working!
"Wh-what? Is this p-place?" Furina questions as she holds her arms closer to herself looking like she is hugging herself, Paimon could tell that she was still shaking so she leaves Aether's side again and comforts Fuirna. "Just hurry, they are coming!" Aether yells which sends Furina panicking even more that she quickly enters the house, Aether and Paimon following. Aether closes the door and quickly locks it, making sure Furina doesn't notice, Paimon sighs.
"That was a close call." She mutters, Furina nods trying to get her breath back. The room suddenly starts to shake, Paimon losses her breath, shit she took Furina to the trap house. Paimon begins to float down a bit in disappointed, she tried to get Furina away from this place yet she ended up leading her here. Aether knows that makes they are now at the opera house but he also knows that Furina still has a chance to stop this whole thing.
If she just tells him the truth, "W-What's happening?" Furina asks worried, "I suspect it could be another disaster that just struck." Aether states as Furina's eyes widen. "I-It's happening again...?" Furina mutters sounding lost, she begins to shake even more. Aether nods, Paimon gulps darkly not liking this. "Yes but Neuvillette's made some emergency plans, so everything should work out okay." Furina nods.
"I have a question?" Aether asks making Furina tense again, slowly she nods, "How long have you been investigating the prophecy?" Aether asks making Furina eyes widen. "The p-prophecy?" Aether nods, "W-well I've been investigating the prophecy for hundreds of years." Furina mutters, seeming to closer more onto herself, Paimon's eyes widen, how long as Furina been suffering with this by herself?
"I've had informants all over Teyvat, searching for clues about it, I've tries everything to avoid the prophecy from happening but all my efforts proved to be futile in the end. No matter what we do the Heavenly Principles will have it's way and the prophecy will be fulfilled....." Furina mutters sounding more and more lost about the whole thing. "But as long as the final moment hasn't come, it's still not too late....."
Furina mutters as she looks down and then suddenly she looks up with a fake smile as she claps her hands, "Well! That's enough, I should get going, the people should off left by now." Paimon looks at Furina worried, she just completely changed her attitude. It was scaring how fast she does that, she is probably hiding everything away. Paimon states in her head, Aether grits his teeth, he knows time is running out.
He needs to try and get more information out off her, "Furina...." He starts, "Although I don't what you might be keeping from everyone but you can tell me but even if your burden doesn't need to be shared, you can share it with me cause I'm just what you'll call a witness." Aether states. Furina looks at him.
"Share my burden..." Aether nods, "I-If that is the case......" Aether sighs, Its too late now.....The walls off the house collapse and Furina finds herself in the Opera Epiclese on the stage. She looks around shocked and confused, Lyney walks in-front off the two. "Ladies and gentleman....this concludes my opening performance!" He states as he smiles widely at the people, "Now without further ado.....we may proceed to the trial of our god."
He states as he bows with his hat in his hand. Furina freezes as he says that, she begins to shake much more than before. Her people were putting her on a trial....after everything she has done for them. When did things start going wrong...? Furina take a deep breath and composes herself.
Right she can do this, it's just a trial.....everything will be fInE..."So this is what this is. You deserve a praise for the effort you took to raise the dramatic stakes but do not forget that I am Focalors the God of Justice- the symbol off Justice itself." Furina states as she looks at everyone with a fake smile. Aether now just notices that Paimon isn't at his side anymore, she was still with Furina looking worried. Aether frowns as Neuvillette clears his throat.
"May I interpret these words....as your refusal to stand trial." Paimon frowns, Furina hasn't even had a chance to take everything into a count and they are still pushing things onto her. He states as Clorinde walks onto the stage silently, with her blade in her hand. Furina's eyes widen, her hand shakes as she feels betrayed, confused and most of all hurt. "Yo.....You'd dare draw your blade against a god?"
Paimon too can begin to feel the disrespect of pointing your blade towards a god, Furina questions as she faces Clorinde, Clorinde just stays quiet and takes a stance, hurting Furina even more. Her people were really gonna have her hurt....Furina steps back making people confused. Furina clears her throat and rises her arms, "I Furina, will use this trial to show the world the true meaning of justice!" Furina states making the audience cheer for her, Paimon smiles slowly.
Neuvillette sighs. "Who will be my opponent in this trial?" Furina asks as she looks at Neuvillette. "The court asks the prosecutor to please take the stand." Aether steps forward making Furina's eyes widen in hurt, she thought she could trust him. She pauses for a moment but why is Paimon not with him, Furina looks next to her to see that Paimon is next to her and hasn't left her side once. "Thank you, your Honor." Aether states, narrowing his eyes at Paimon. He still doesn't understand why Paimon was over there with her instead of him...
"Is that so....very well. Then please speak, witness of Teyvat, my accuser and fated opponent." Aether nods as Esmond walks onto the stage with some documents in his hand. "Sir Prosecutor, please allow me to pass this along." He states as he hands Aether the documents, "These documents are off Miss Charlotte who had this applied so she could receive permission to share these with you during the trial."
Aether nods and begins to look through it, "Isn't this from the exclusive interview?" Aether asks. He then grins, "This document means that everything is a perfect timeline of everything that's happened since we stepped foot in Fontaine..." Paimon frowns, "I can refer this to 'anthology of evidence' every time I want to use something from my journey as evidence for an argument!"
--
Neuvillette clears his throat as he steps forward from where he was siting, "The Prosecution and the defence are both in position. The trial shall now begin." Aether nods and faces Furina who's hands were still shaking but she hid them. "I would like to charge you as a fraud. who's never been the Archon in the first place." Aether states as he points at Furina who looks at him with wide eyes.
The Audience gasp in shock, "Lady Furina's a fraud?" Someone mutters, "Hey.....I came here thinking that we were gonna to try the Hydro Archon for forsaking her duty, but did I hear that right? She's not our Archon?"
Neuvillette nods, "Charge accepted." Furina looks at him betrayed, what was he doing? He knew what focalors was planning, why was he ruining it. Running the plan that, focalors had been planning for ages. The role she had to play for 500 years, and now people were trying to ruin the plan.....
Furina grits her teeth as she begins to tear up but she holds it in, not wanting people to see her cry. Neuvillette turns towards her, "Lady Furina, do you plead guilty to the charge?" He questions, Furina is beginning to wonder if she can trust anyone at this point. But as she thinks of this she looks at Paimon...Maybe she can trust one person...
"....." Furina doesn't say anything, Neuvillette frowns, "Lady Furina?" He asks again, Furina looks up at him, "I plead not guilty. How can I be guilty? There is no way I, Focalors, otherwise known as Furina de Fontaine, a member of the seven, could be anything other than your true Archon." Some of the people begin to agree with Furina, "Many of the members of the audience have known me."
"As the Hydro Archon ever since they were born - there would be no fooling their memory." Furina states which makes the Oratrice tilt more to her side, "If you wish to drop the cage, I can promise you as the god of Justice. That you will not have to face a trial for making these false accusations." Furina states as she puts her fake smile on, trying to keep herself calm.
"We could simple treat everything that has happened as a dramatic spectacle and move on with our lives. What do you say to that?" Furina states, Navia laughs, "An argument with near-impossible odds, huh?"
"We have not only refute Furina's claims, but also overturn teh long-held beliefs of the people."
"The people only see you as their Archon cause that's their long-held belief." Furina scoffs, "Well I tried to give you a chance to surrender." Furina crosses her arms, "If you must persist, then let me ask you something, if you believe I'm not the Hydro Archon then how did I manage to live for over five hundred years." Furina asks as Aether rolls his eyes, "Well first of all, you could be a member of long-lived race, which would allow you to naturally possess an extended lifespan."
"And second of all, even if that wasn't the case, there could be other ways to extend your life..." Aether mutters resting his hand on his chain, "Such as... a curse." Furina tenses her eyes widening, "... Who gave you that idea? Was it The Knave?" She questions with a dark tone, Paimon can't blame her for being scared of that woman. "You'd sink so low as to use a Harbinger's words against me?"
Aether shakes his head, "It doesn't matter who gave us the information, the only thing that matters is the veracity of the claim." He states, Neuvillette thinks for a moment, "A curse... I once thought it possible that the aura of an Archon might naturally resemble a type of curse." .... "But in light of this claim, perhaps what I sensed was not your divinity, but a curse after all?"
He questions as he looks at Furina, who seems to be falling deeper and deeper into despair. Paimon glances at Neuvillette, "You sensed it too, huh, Neuvillette?" Aether asks than crosses his arms, "So, Furina...Instead of an Archon, could you just be a cursed human?" This makes Audience Member's gasp surpised, "Lady Furina... is actually human?"
Pamion gets a weird thought in her head, 'Can't human's be gods though as well, I mean look at Barbatos and Morax they are gods living like humans so why can't it be the other way?' And Paimon has a feeling that Furina is a Archon but like half a one, cause she has the same aura as the other gods. "Well, it is true that it's extremely difficult to tell humans and gods apart just by looking at them. It's not impossible.."
The scales of the Oratrice return to being balanced and the second light illuminates. Furina frowns, Paimon cuts in. "But can't gods be cursed as well?" Paimon brings up, everyone frowns thinking about that question. Lynette clears her throat and slowly steps forwards her cat ears folding a bit while her tail swings behind her. "Father told us that gods can be cursed by certain powerful people who have the same power as the gods but slightly more powerful. But yes gods can be cursed." She states standing next to Lyney.
Paimon nods, "And who did she learn this off." She questions. "The Tsaritsa." Lyney mutters crossing his arms. Aether grits his teeth, how was he meant to know that gods could be cursed. "Right so there you have it, even from another god. Gods can be cursed, so why can't she be the Archon?" Paimon states crossing her arms as she floats. "Cause I'm sure being cursed doesn't stop you from being an Archon."
Furina nods, "And plus even if I have been carrying a curse like you said, how does that prove that I am merely a human being?" Furina states, "I mean for centuries, manifestations of my authority have served the nation of Fontaine. Aether scoffs, "One need only to turn their eyes towards the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale in this very opera house, or consider the Indemnitium that is used in every aspect of life."
Aether frowns thinking off something, "You tried to reference the Oratrice, but weren't you as confused as all the rest of us when the Oratrice declared Childe to be guilty without any proof?" Furina grits her teeth, "Didn't I make myself clear at the time? The decisions of the gods are naturally difficult for humans to comprehend. There is no need to provide an explanation..." Neuvillette clears his throat.
"Lady Furina, I believe a reminder of your current circumstances is in order. While the court is in session. The principles of justice and the law must come before all else." .... "While you are an Archon, you are also first and foremost the defendant in this trial. You will prove yourself unable to defend against the prosecution's charges if you continue to withhold vital information against the rules of the court."
Furina frowns looks sad, ".....I never thought... You'd use that kind of rhetoric against me..." Neuvillette scoffs, Paimon's eyes narrow at him. Why was he being so rude to her when they were friends earlier on. Clearly that friendship wasn't enough. "That was no trick of rhetoric, Lady Furina. I have merely reiterated the rules of the court, rules that all should respect and follow." Furina doesn't speak and just stays quiet.
Aether speaks up again. "So, you still don't know why Childe was declared guilty, nor did you understand the structure and operations of the Oratrice...Instead of having been created by you, the "manifestations of authority" you mentioned have been made by the real Hydro Archon, haven't they?" Aether states, Paimon puts her hand up making people look at her.
"Traveler, you do know there have been past Archon's before right?" She question making Aether sigh, "And plus sure Furina didn't make the Oratrice but that doesn't make her not Archon." She mutters, Furina sighs, "It is true that I did not know why the Oratrice gave out a guilty verdict that day and I didn't make it." .... "But the Oratrice handed out that verdict unilaterally, and it has been operating independently ever since it was first created."
"You can't... You can't argue that just because a divine creation is flawed, that the god behind it must also be no god at all." Paimon grits her teeth, "Miss Furina, could you give us a brief demonstration of your power as an Archon?" Furina freezes all together, "M-My power as an Archon? But there are too many citizens in the audience."
"I can't just demonstrate the formidable power of an Archon..." Neuvillette cuts in. "If that poses a concern, I'm prepared to extend my protection to the audience." Furina grits her teeth, why does he keep on making this worse! Furina shakes her head, "Erm... Y—You don't need to go that far..."
Aether frowns and narrows his eyes at Furina, "A brief demonstration of your power over Hydro should be quite harmless." He laughs, "Surely an Archon can at least match the capacities of a human with a Vision?" Paimon scoffs "Not all gods have visions you know and plus gods have different powers to those who has visons." Paimon states making Aether look at her shocked. Furina to looks shocked that Paimon, Aethers traveling campion is helping her.
"But she is meant to be the Hydro Archon, if she can't show her power then she can't wield the power of Hydro, much less the authority of a god?" Aether yells, "Cause maybe I gived up all of my divine power to provide everyone with energy for their daily lives!"
"Have you ever seen a more magnanimous god?" This doesn't help Furina though this just makes the audience suspicious of her, the third light of the Oratrice lights up and the scales tip towards Aether. Furina begins to have a panic attack, why did things get to this?! Why was nobody beliveing her? Furina shakes her hands,
"Hey, come now, everyone... Please don't stare at me as if I was a liar..." Furina bites her lip nervously, "I'm still the same Furina you knew, right? The one that you loved? Shouldn't you want to believe in me? Please... You've got to believe me..." She needs them to believe her, so that this plan can still work. So that she hasn't failed 'mirror me'. "If what the prosecutor said is true, she really has committed a grave offense..." ....... "Did she deceive all of us, and all of our parents and grandparents too? And all of our ancestors, ever since they were born?"
"Tell me, then...! If I'm not the real Hydro Archon, then who is?" Furina states, "If you have no evidence of another Hydro Archon's existence, nor can you find anyone who can back up their claim to be such, then what grounds have you to say that I'm not actually the real deal?" Aether states, "It has been established that all Fontainians can dissolve in water from the Primordial Sea."
"And that means..." Navia then joins in, this isn't fair. Furina thinks in her head, it's one against three, she mutters, "Since you insist on claiming to be a god and not a human, then there's a method that you can use right here and now to eliminate all suspicions of you being the latter." Paimon's eyes widen. Neuvillette looks at the group.
"Miss Navia, please apply to serve as a temporary attorney for the prosecution before addressing the court. Though you act in partnership with the prosecutor, you must still adhere to proper procedure." Navia crosses her arms, "Super sorry, Monsieur Chief Justice. I swear this really will be the last time that I'll speak out of turn."
Navia then looks at Furina, "Now, I've brought some seawater from Poisson." Furina's eyes widen, there is no way, they were gonna ask her to put her hand in that? "As everyone knows, a massive flood struck the area not long ago, taking many lives..." Navia grits her teeth, "...Including those of some of my closest friends."
"So, Miss Furina, would you dare to touch some of this seawater? If we are to believe that you are indeed the real Hydro Archon, touching this seawater would have no effect on you. All it should do is strengthen your case." Navia then narrows her eyes, "But if you don't dare to touch it, then we would have basically proved the reverse."
"Oh, and I must remind you that after the disaster at Poisson, nobody wants to see any more people dissolve." Why were they doing this to her? Why..."I do hope you'll act prudently, and choose the simpler path of admitting guilt." Furina gazes at the water silently. "Lady Furina, this test has been unilaterally proposed by the prosecution."
"As it falls outside the realm of standard court proceedings, you possess the right to decline participation." Neuvillette states, Furina doesn't say anything she's just staring at the water, "Due to the inherent risk of the test, Lady Furina, you may—" Furina makes up her mind deciding maybe if she does this then they might believe that she is the Hydro Archon and that focalors can carry on with the plan.
This might hurt but she needs to do it, Furina begins to move her hand into the water. But before she can put her hand into the water, something stops her. Wait no....two people stop her, Aether's eyes widen when he sees a purplish portal appear from behind Furina, his eyes widen even more dimensional black cubes drifting into and onto of reality around a floating woman.
Aether freezes in horror when he realizes who was in front of him. The god that took his sister, the audience gasps when they see a hand pop out and quickly grabs Furina hand before she touches the water. Aethers eyes widen even more when the person walks out.
"Lumine..?"
Chapter 2: The Mysterious Woman And The Unknown God
Notes:
Hello Little stars, here is another chapter hope you enjoy! :) This chapter hasn't been edited cause I wrote this all down on a note book cause I seem to think better when I write things on paper, so I had to type all this up after writing it on a piece of paper, so I'll check it later on for mistakes. Hope you enjoy though and sorry if this chapter is short.
Chapter Text
Lumine brings the Hydro Archon closer to her as the unknown god stands next to them keeping Furina a safe distance from the Primordial Sea water. Lumine and the unknown god didn't know if this thing could harm the Hydro Archon but they weren't gonna find out. Furina's tear drop eyes widen as she feels herself get pulled away from the water and into someone's arms.
Furina tenses as she gets pulled into an unfamiliar person, she begins to slightly shake, her thoughts overwhelming her. She thought that this unknowing person was part of the trial and that they are here to bring more stupid evidence to the trial. Furina shivers at the thought, 'why must this happen now..?'
She wonders, Furina begins to shake in anger, 'How dare they!?' She yells in her head, Furina grits her teeth, she suffered for over 500 years, protecting this Nation and this is how they repay her! Furina begins to tear up, 'All the suffering for nothing....?' Furina feels her world shatter, she can't do this anymore. She can't......she can't handle anymore.....Not after putting her people first...
And putting her own mental health behind her, This isn't fair! How dare they do this to her! After all she's done to help them and with this prophecy and what have they done to help! Nothing! They done NOTHING! She might as well be a pawn in their game, well not anymore. Furina's eyes go dark.
'No more will I be a pawn, they can all dissolve in this prophecy for all I care!' Furina yells in her head, 'I will never be taken advantaged of ever again.....'
"Droplet?" Furina hears a soft voice whisper next to her ear, the voice sends a shiver down Furina's back, Furina glances back to look at this person and Furina swears she can't breathe well when she looks at the person. She was the most beautiful girl, Furina has ever seen. She was wearing a gorgeous sleeveless, backless, black dress, the dress reached just above her knees.
She had a scarf that was attached to her dress, the scarf had two long pieces of fabric attached to the top of the scarf and reached down to the back off her dress. The Scarf was also attached to the dress by two thin black straps. There was also dark blue on the dress, Furina's signature colour, she was also also wearing black gloves, she also had a glowing white pattern on her chest. Same with her heels and the edge of her gloves.
She had high heels that reached her knees, the heels had a bit of gold on them but the rest of the heel was still black and dark blue. Furina glances back up at her face and notices that she has two dark blue and black flowers on the right sided off her head and she then had two dark blue feather tucked at the left.
She was also wearing a black and dark blue cape type thing, Furina looks at her eyes and notices the girl staring back at her, that's when Furina notices her eyes. They look dead like there was no life in them, but Furina knew better. Knew she was like her, her eyes cold hiding her true feelings deep within her. Even though her eyes looked cold, Furina could see that she was tried and angry.
For some reason Furina wanted to know what made her angry, she wanted to make her feel better. To comfort her, the woman smiles softly at Furina, Furina shivers slightly at the sight of her smiling down at her. Furina was confused to why this woman's smile made her feel so warm and safe and most of all conformable, A feeling, she hasn't felt in a while.
The woman's hair was a light blonde, she had shortish hair that Furina thought looked beautiful on her. For some reason Furina wanted to run her fingers through her hair due to how soft and adorable it looked. Furina manages to control herself from touching some woman's hair, maybe once this trial was over, she could get the woman's name and maybe get to touch her hair.
She looks to beside her and sees a young looking woman with a tall, slender body, she had long, free-flowing cloud-white hair that floated unnaturally behind her head. Her amber eyes both had a small line going horizontally across their pupils. Furina feels like she knows this woman. Lumine looks at the woman beside her with narrow eyes, "Asmoday." She mutters making her nod. Lumine was unsure if she should trust this woman but she saved her droplet.
But that doesn't mean she will trust her straight away not away what happened to khaenri'ah but she will thank her for saving her little droplet. "Lumine." She repeats back, Lumine clears her throat and mutters a thank you to the god for helping her, Asmoday nods and looks back down at Furina who seems to be looking at them taking in their appearance.
Furina gets brought out her thoughts when she hears the woman's voice, "Sorry about that droplet, about suddenly grabbing you but I couldn't let you harm yourself." The woman whispers quietly to Furina making sure the people around them can't hear them, Asmoday also nods saying she was sorry as well, Nevillette clears his throat as he steps forward. He thought the two women in front of him were a threat and threats need to be taken care off.
"Who are you to?" Nevillette coldly asks as he narrows his eyes down at the threats, Clorinde who was still on the stage, raises her blade ready to attack if needed. Furina notices that both the women turn much colder as they face Nevillette, Lumine scoffs. "No body you need to know." The woman grits out coldly as she pulls a confused Furina closer to her, Furina's eyes widen at how close they were to each other.
Asmoday smiles at them, watching as Furina's face tints a soft pink colour as her heart beats faster. Furina begins not being able to think normally due to how close she was to the gorgeous woman. Clorinde's eyes widen as she grits her teeth, the two things she hates the most is when people hate and bully Navia and second when people disrespect Monsieur Nevillette.
"He asked you two a question, Who are you two?" Clorinde states, shaking in anger as she glares at the woman making Furina frown in disbelief, did her 'people' always act like this? Furina questions herself, Furina can't believe she was this blind to their actions and behaviour. Aether shakily steps forward trying to figure out why his sister who was with the Abyss was here. "Lumine?"
He mutters making the woman look at him, Furina notices her gaze soften. Furina has a feeling that this is the traveller's missing sibling. "Aether." Lumine nods back, making the people look at the two of them confused. Navia glances at Aether, she was frowning a bit looking confused. "You know her?" Navia asks causing Aether to sigh as he nods.
"She's my sibling." Aether mutters watching as Navia's eyes widen in shock, "You mean the sibling that you had to travel across Teyvet to find?" She asks as Aether slowly nods as he faces away looking sad. Clorinde steps forward, she might know who this woman is now but that doesn't mean that she isn't a threat.
"Why are you with her?" He asks pointing at Asmoday, who separated them. And plus Clorinde still doesn't know why this woman is here, "For the last time, why are you two here? And don't you know you are interrupting a trial." Asmoday finds it funny that this woman doesn't know she is yelling at a god, she could take her out in a second if she wanted to. Clorinde speaks as she grits her teeth, Furina looks up at Lumine watching as Lumine glance at Clorinde with a cold look.
"It's none of your business to know why I or she is here." She states before she glances down at Furina who was already staring at her, "Droplet?" Lumine mutters as she looks down at the Hydro Archon, Furina frowns confused making Lumine smile slightly. "May I offer my support for the rest of this trial?" Lumine asks as Furina's eyes widen, "W-What but p-paimon?" Furina stutters, not believing what this woman is asking her.
Lumine's face doesn't change showing that she is serious, "I would like to offer my support for the rest of the trial with Paimon." Asmoday sighs making Lumine smirk a bit, that what you get for picking that name, Furina looks at her shocked. "Y-Your on my s-side?" Furina mutters shocked, her eyes slightly tearing up. Lumine nods.
"Always little droplet."
Chapter 3: "According to the judgment of the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale, Furina is-"
Chapter Text
The trial begins again, Neuvillette clears his throat. "I believe the time for the argument and presentation of the evidence has come to an end. If there are no objections, we will move onto the final judgement." Neuvillette states as he holds his cane in front off him, and lifts it up before slamming it to the ground. Furina huffs and leans back into her chair with Lumine and Asmoday standing on either side off her.
"In my capacity as Chief Justice, I shall now render judgment on Furina's misrepresentation of herself as the Archon of Fontaine. As a being who knowingly deceived her fellow citizens, Furina is—.........Innocent." Neuvillette announced. Furina eyes widen, she won?....Lumine smiles next to her as Asmoday frowns. She notices that something doesn't feel right, something is gonna happen.
"We shall now turn to the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale to render the final verdict on the charges. According to the judgment of the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale, Furina is—" Neuvillette froze his eyes widening as he read the slip, Lumine's eyes narrow darkly. "What?" She states coldly. Aether crosses his arms.
"Did it declare her guilty?" Aether asks with a smirk making Lumine and Asmoday glare at him, Neuvillette shakes his head, "No....not quite..." Everything was slient for a few moments, "......the Hydro Archon, guilty, to be punished via the Death Sentence." Neuvillette read. Furnia's eyes widen in horror, what did she hear that right? No....that can't be...Lumine's eyes darken while Asmoday glares at the Oratrice. "The-The death Sentence...?"
A shocked and horrified Audience states, "That's actually one off the Sentences? I've always thought that it was just a myth....." one mutters, "The one and only time the death Sentence has been handed out at the court, and its been given to the very person we've worshipped as the god of justice? What an unexpected twist...." Asmoday scoffs.
"There is clearly something wrong with that thing, she's Innocent." She mutters Lumine nodding in agreement. Neuvillette frowns and his hand comes to rest on his chain. "This outcome is indeed quite strange. According to Fontaine's current definitions of Justice as well its recommendations for criminal sentences...." He trills off, "Is this sentence really appropriate for the crimes that have been committed....?"
Asmoday who was still glaring at the Oratrice, her eyes widen suddenly and then they darken. So that's her plan....She steps forward confuseing Lumine and Furina. "Asmoday...?" Lumine calls watching as the unknown god floats down from the platform and makes it to in front off the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale. A dimensional black cubes that was drifting into and onto of reality formed around Asmoday hand as she then raised her hand to the Oratrice, creating a blinding blue light.
That had many covering their eyes until the light died down, then she yanked her hand back and out came flying another figure, clad in white robes with slight blue and with a face that was in the exact image of Furina’s even the hair was the same. "Just what do you think your doing?" Asmoday spoke as she glared at Focalors with her glowing amber eyes.
